Sybilla, on the other hand, knows the danger that is to come and that could result from his attachment to her. Nothing is more dangerous than loving a king.
Natural Born

The darkness within him brings darkness to the forest nearby, until one day when she shows up, looking for someone. When Bell enters his life, Frey's monster finally recedes and he finds some measure of happiness. Her occupation as a vampire hunter is dangerous, but their love will bring about consequences like no other. It re-awakens the forest, and those that were hiding within it begin moving out. Frey and Bell must protect the people from the threat about to emerge.
I have always lived in the deep south, Arkansas, and grew up in a very rural area. Some of that you will see that I have incorporated into my books. I like the small town and rural area feel of things. I am married to a wonderful husband and have four fantastic kids and two rambunctious dogs. My days are busy and hectic because I am a stay-at-home mom, but I love it! Writing is just one of the things I am passionate about! I also love to read and have always enjoyed art.
What I write: a little bit of everything. I love writing about vampires, mafia families, magic, and more! My favorite is writing strong female characters!
HOUSE OF WAX LOVED THIS BOOK. BREES MIND IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. LOVE HER IDEAS. COATING VAMPIRES IN WAX. GENIUS. THIS BOOK GRABS YOU FROM THE BEGINNING. FAST PACED SHORT STORY WITH GREAT CHARACTERS. WINNER ALL ROUND. I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO ALL PARANORMAL FANS.
FATE AND FORTUNE A brilliant short twist on Henry the Eighths wives well the first couple. I loved the story line in this. Henry is as moody and easily distracted by women in this as I imagined him. However this is a much better storyline than the original (my opinion anyway).
NATURAL BORN PREDATORS
What a brilliant take of Beauty and the Beast. Fantastic writing and storyline. I loved every page. This story has it all. An adult version of an old children's classic. I recommend to all.
HALF LIFE
Very short. Very sweet. Loved this.
This set is absolutely brilliant. Great lunchtime reads. Thank you Bree.
3 amazing book by Bree Pierce, each one pulls you in and you can't stop reading until you've finished the last page on each. I personally love everything Bree writes. These vampires aren't of the friendly won't drink your blood sort, they'll drain you dry. These books are exciting and keep you reading. Not sure which is my fav, but I loved them all. The scary side of vamps. How original in today's age, when we all love them!!!!
I really like the way Bree Pierce wrote this anthology. Fantastic stories about vampires and the people it took to destroy the blood suckers from long ago. It grips you, each story makes you want more. Then Bree Pierce gives you more in another fairytale story.
House of Wax By Bree Pierce 5 STARS FANTASTIC! A MUST READ!! A hundred years ago vampires walked amongst us free to do as they willed. Free to take whomever they want to drink from till the person was bled dry and died or if they wanted to make a vampire they could change that person into what they were. Maelstrom was a female vampire chosen to be the vampire queen and lead them against their enemies. First she has to build an army so she chooses twelve of her finest warriors. Her biggest obstacle is a family who carries the curse that is bestowed on the males of the Blacksaint name. Even a hundred years ago Maelstrom wanted Cobalt Black Saint, the great grandfather to join her as a vampire but he had other plans for the vampires. Colbalt has devised a plan for capture and is sure his plan will destroy them. He does capture them in a most tortuous way, only now could they have survived a hundred years in a wax tomb? Ever since Odin was a child he has heard the stories of vampires but he just thought they were told to scare the children of the small town. He knows locked away upstairs in a safe place is the journals from his great grandfather telling of the vampires. He never really paid much attention to them but since people of their small community have started coming up missing with no traces or clues he thinks maybe it is time to read and learn from the old legends. He learns about the family curse and realizes it is up to him to defend the town from Maelstrom and her army. There is a very special vampire that doesn’t belong with Maelstrom’s plans. Can she help save Odin and the towns people from a blood bathe? Or will she be destroyed? You will want to find out!!!
Fate and Fortune By Bree Pierce 5 STARS MYSTICAL!! MAGICAL!! MORE PLEASE!! Fate and Fortune is about King Henry V111. He was a young king and desperately wanted an heir to his throne. King Henry’s first wife could not bear him a son as their first born was a girl and he decided it was time to put her away and seek out someone else that could possibly give him what he needed. In his frustration with his marriage to Catherine and still no heir it was grating on him. In his desperation he left the castle in search of the one who knew the future. Her name was Sybilla. King Henry had heard of her throughout the years and just maybe she can tell him who to seek out for an heir. He was expecting to see an old haggard women and was taken by surprise to see a beautiful young woman. She had beautiful hair and violet eyes that he found intriguing. Henry started wondering if the soothsayer was really a witch. Witches weren’t looked upon kindly by the church. Sybilla kept some very strange things in her cottage, crystals, gem stones some worth a lot of money. She told him she was but a lowly fortune teller. She did give him some good news. Sybilla talked of a young woman that would soon come to his castle. Anne Boleyn arrived from France to stay in Henrys court. She was as the soothsayer said, beautiful, vivacious and outspoken where as his present wife Catherine was quiet and reserved. The only problem was nobody knew anything thing about her except she came from France. Henry soon started to bestow gifts upon her and wanting her to fall in love with him. She would not until his marriage was over and Catherine was out of the picture. Soon Anne got what she wanted and Henry could finally be hers. All Henry could think about was Anne and having her body so they could have the heir he so desperately wanted. All this time being with Anne he didn’t realize she was compelling him. Unbeknownst to King Henry his new wife was a vampire and she wants his kingdom. Will she be able to convince King Henry to bend to her will or does Anne Boleyn become just another head to roll for King Henry?
Natural Born Predators By Bree Pierce 5 Stars FALL BACK IN LOVE WITH A FAIRYTALE WITH A TWIST!! Natural Born Predators takes you into a well know fairy tale with a vampire twist. It grabbed me from the first page! Frey was a very bored god. He could control the weather which made things great for his subjects especially if they were in his good graces. He was loved by the village children for the snow days he created in winter. Everyone loved Frey and felt so lucky that he was their king. It wasn’t always that way, before Bell came he was a very disturbed man who had a hard time controlling the beast inside him. His dark moods would make the forest dark. The trees were nothing but dying wood. The grass was nothing but straw and the place felt creepy at best. Bell had heard stories of the beastly god that lived in the castle. He was so distraught that he roared day and night. When Frey’s wife a human had died some years earlier from an accident on her horse it threw Frey’s heart in to darkness. All he wanted to do was hide in his castle. Bell came to the castle looking for her missing father. He was a vampire hunter and had been gone for two months and that was not normal. Bell had to find out what happened to him. When Bell stormed into the castle past the butler she saw a beast like none she had ever seen. He had so much pain in his eyes, she gently reached up to touch his face. He couldn’t believe she would be so kind to a repulsive monster as himself. Bell looked him in the eye and said “you are magnificent” when Bell reached up to touch him again he changed in to a man. Bell told him about her father and that he was missing and wanted to check the dungeon in the castle for him. She was furious that he could be there. He was there and Bell wanted him released immediately. Her father was an innocent man, after all he was a vampire hunter and was only there to protect the people. It turned out there were more vampires than anyone expected and it was time to clean the forest. Bell was also a very accomplished vampire hunter. She had stocked herself with weapons from the castle and was now ready to do battle. Her father called in other vampire hunters from other villages and the townsmen were willing to fight for their families and the towns people. When it came time for battle Frey had a single red rose on Bell weapon chest when she touched it something magical happened and now he would know if she were alive or not. Bree Pierce has taken me on a mind blowing adventure, these are so well written you feel as though you are there with these strong warriors. Thank you for sharing your talent with us and please don’t let this be your only anthology!
Every Last Drop: A Vampire Anthology consists of 3 vampire novelettes. Although the stories are very different in plot, they all have a common theme of the immortal vampire. Bree Pierce has taken three familiar storylines and completely made them her own original creation. These stories can have even the skeptical reader questioning whether vampires can exist and are they are blood thirsty unholy creature. House of Wax Have you ever been to a wax museum? The wax statues can look so life like they might have you doing a double take. What lurks beneath the wax? Hundreds of years ago vampires walked the earth with the humans. When the humans realized the peril they were in they waged a war against the vampires. The hero leading the humans was Cobalt Blacksaint. Maelstrom was the Queen of the vampires. By the end of the war the vampires had succumbed to the humans. Cobalt had the idea to encase the vampires in hot wax and leave them on display at the House of Wax. Over time the wax became brittle and the vampires were able to rise again. Maelstrom wanted to seek revenge on any Blacksaint for what Cobalt did to her and her army. Odin Blacksaint always thought the journals left by his ancestors were purely fantasy talking about immortal beings that feast on blood. Long, long ago a curse was placed on Odin’s ancestral lineage when Marcus made a deal with an apparition to forever be bound to this being along with all his family to come. Odin Blacksaint was to answer to keeping the town safe and destroying these creatures. Will Odin end the curse of the Blacksaints for good? Will he be able to defeat the vampires? Fate & Fortune King Henry VIII had one thing and one thing only on his mind; to have a legitimate heir to the throne. He had a daughter, but every King wants a son. He sought out a soothsayer that could tell the future. Sybilla told Henry he is damned, however one of his children would be a great ruler of this land and that a young woman would come into his life. However, this comes with a price and his soul would be lost. Anne Boleyn soon joined Henry’s court. She was fancied by all the men but she only had eyes for one man. The only man that could give her the power she craved so much. She had to find a way to marry the King and become Queen. Henry so stubborn and determined to have a son he goes against the Church just so he could have Anne as his wife. But everything has a cost right? What is the cost to Henry? Is Anne everything he needs? Or does Henry have eyes on another, perhaps one who can see the future? Will he be happy? Natural Born Predators Frey was a good that lived in a castle outside of a small town. He wasn’t just any god though, he could change form into a beast and control the weather around him. He suffered a tragic loss when his wife died. This made Frey quite a brooding god which reflected in the dark forest surrounding a castle. Bell happens upon the castle in search of her father. Bell was a natural born vampire hunter and was not easily scared. She heard the rumors of the beast but she showed no fear when she walked in the castle demanding her father be set free. Although Frey was not happy about this he obliged Bell and set him free. Bell found herself drawn to this magnificent god and soon found herself in his arms taking her to bed. They couldn’t deny their feelings for each other. However, Bell couldn’t deny her natural born right to kill vampires. She set out for home equipped with beautiful weapons and a spirited horse bestowed by King Frey. Soon the townspeople from Bell’s town and the town by the castle would be under attack by the vampires. Before battle Frey gives Bell a gift, one he has never given before. Is it enough to keep her safe? Will she return to Frey? Can Frey save his people and his town? Half Life Bill Smith having just died from cancer finds himself in a pure white room. This is the in between place. Bill is offered a second chance at life. However, there are stipulations and Bill must make the best of what he is given. Will he be a better person this time around? Will he love more and start a family this time? Two angels sitting on a cloud can tell you that. This book was truly a page turner. I enjoyed the different takes on stories I am familiar with. It was masterfully written and quite original. I would definitely recommend it.
Rate: 4 Stars Title & Author: Every Last Drop by Bree Pierce Writing: Great Violence: None Sex: None
Every last drop is a Vampire Anthology book that contains five stories inside of it. It has House of Wax, Fate & Fortune, Natural Born Predators, and Half Life. All four books are quite interesting, but the story I enjoyed the most is Fate & Fortune.
Fate & Fortune is about a king who wants an heir to his crown, but his wife is unable to complete the job to his liking. She gave birth to a baby girl, but the king felt like that was not good enough, and consider his daughter much too weak to take over once he died. As if females we’re too weak to handle the crown. (At this point I feel like he’s completely a dummy set in his ways.) But the king demands and wants a son, so he constantly tries to get his wife pregnant with a baby boy. But when she gives birth to a baby boy, the poor baby boy is a still born. The king and queen kept trying again, but the king has lost faith among the way and went to seek help from a fortune teller.
He was told that if he continues on the path that he is carrying he will stain his hands with blood, and everything he once knew will be ruin, including his soul. But just like most foolish kings set in their ways, he didn’t want to hear any of it. And wanted to know if he would receive his son, and from who since he no longer believes his wife can do the job. The teller told him he would get what he wanted from a woman coming along the way, but if he goes about this path it would ruining him. But the king did not heed the warning, and when he came across the woman the teller spoke of, he started to pursue her. The woman started to demand certain things from him, including getting rid of his “no good wife” to marry her. But the church doesn’t not believe in divorce, and look down upon anyone who tries to do so. Being completely faithful to the church and not wanting to go against them. The king must if he will divorce his wife to take the woman, who is promise to give him his son. Or will he continue to be faithful to the church, and not have the son he wants.
There is a part inside the story that the king explains his feeling towards his wife because she gave birth to his still born son. And basically he blames her for it, as if it’s her fault that his son wasn’t alive. And that she hasn’t gave him anymore sons. After I read this part I’m pretty upset with the King, not only is he a big jerk, but also one that is inconsiderate of his wife. She had their son inside her for nine months, and form a connection. She probably was extremely happy believing that this time it would be a boy, and that she has done you proud. Only to find out that that poor baby didn’t get a chance to live. And instead of the king feeling any type of sadness for his wife, he selfish and only thinks about himself. He gives no sympathy or regards to his wife.
But rather disgust that his wife couldn’t do her job right in giving him sons. At this point I feel as if maybe in faith that he doesn’t have any son. Especially if he considers his wife, but less any females, as nothing less than baby makers, who are only to push out strong healthy boys. The stories in this book are short but interesting. A quick book that you can easily finish in a day if you wanted to. If you need a quick book to read while on break or anything, this is a book for you to choose.
I loved each short story in this anthology. I normally like long books for their detail. There was enough detail to leave me satisfied at the end of each story in this book.
I am going to preface this review by saying the work of the author is really good, I just had a hard time getting into the different novella’s.
House Of Wax
You start this book learning about Odin and what his family is all about. From what is read in the notebooks left behind from his grandfather, they are basically vampire hunters. Though there haven't been any around for generations from where his grandfather did what needed to be done before. When people start going missing they take more care in listening to what Odin’s grandfather had to say. You meet a couple of different vampires, but the one you read the most about is Naiad. She helps Odin when she can and eventually ends up saving him.
Fate & Fortune
This book takes you through the times of Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII, with them as the main characters. In this novella, Anne Boleyn is a vampire and uses compulsion to get her way with Henry. By the time he realizes that something is going on, Anne is pregnant with his child. He finally has someone come in and helps him discover what she truly is and then her fate is decided. While going through this book, Henry meets with a fortune teller to see what she can tell him about what will happen for him in the future. He falls for her while she is helping him see what his future will be.
Natural Born Predators
In this book you have Bell and Frey. Bell is actually named Callista Bell and is a vampire hunter. Then there is Frey who is a God and is a King for their time and where they live. They fall hard and fast for each other and are thankfully given the chance to make things work. They go through the novella having to kill vampires just to survive. Bell is very skilled and with the help of Frey’s horse and her father and quite a few other vampire hunters, they are able to accomplish their goal, just as Frey is able to accomplish both of his.
Half Life
This is a very short novella in which Bill dies and is given a second chance. The Angels above watch over him to make sure that he takes this second chance and does something good instead of messing up his second chance. He is told that he will have no prior memory of anything that happened in his previous life. And in fact he doesn't have any memories of his first life and takes his second chance very seriously.
Every Last Drop is an easy and enjoyable read. Three stories for the price of one! This anthology is made of up of distinct stories – each one different from the one before it. With the exception of one common theme; Bree Pierce has chosen to write these unique stories from the anti-Vampire perspective. In a post-Twilight era – I was glad to see that.
The first story is called House of Wax, in it a small town comes to find that the legends and tall tales they had heard passed down for generations, actually had some truth to them. Long imprisoned vampires, led by the fearsome Maelstrom seek to take revenge on a town that has unknowingly harbored them for 100 years. A descendent of the Blacksaint family (which might be one of the coolest surnames ever), finds himself as the unprepared leader of a group of locals that must fight for their very survival. Odin has to summon the courage and resolve to do what he must to save the town.
The second story is Fate & Fortune, is a creative take on the Henry VIII – Anne Boleyn relationship, with a soothsayer named Sybilla thrown in for good measure. The soothsayer warns Henry that he will have blood on his hands and may very well be doomed. Anne has enchanted the King, but Henry discovers her dark secret and sets in motion events that will alter history. Sybilla hopes to bring light to Henry’s heart – but she ultimately has to decide what her future will be.
The third story is Natural Born Predators: Frey is a King with a beastly demeanor and Bell is a born and bred vampire hunter with a mind of her own. Their paths cross because of a precarious situation, in which her father finds himself. Bell quickly takes control of the situation and in doing so – cracks the hardened shell of the King. Bell and Frey have a natural chemistry that could keep them both occupied for eternity, but both understand they have duties to the people around them. Bell, with gifts from Frey – heads home to take on the vampires that have amassed in the area. With a bit of the King’s heart – Bell does what she was born to do – Kill Vampires.
This anthology about vampires to me was very clever and a different spin o the vampire stories that I know and love. I love a good vampire story so I was excited to read this book. I have heard of this author before and even own some of her book, but this is the first one I dove into so far. I think it may be a great way to get to know her and her style.
The first story is called House of Wax and was it original. I never thought of the possibility of encasing the vampire in wax and letting them stay that way for eternity. With all great hero stories though, Odin, our hunky hero has to battle his family’s history as well as the vampires seeking him out. This was a great folkloric tale that I really enjoyed the originality of.
The second story is called Fate and Fortune and it is a spin on the relationship between Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. We all know how desperate Henry was for an heir, we just didn’t know how far he would go to conceive one. We also know that he loved Anne; we just didn’t know that she wasn’t who anyone thought she was. A devious spin on such an historical couple and their history that left me wanting so much more.
The third story is called Natural Born Predators and as I was reading this story I could only picture a sick twisted version of Beauty and The Beast. Bell is a vampire hunter who is falling in love with an ornery God that has been in mourning. To say that their relationship has its ups and downs is an understatement, but the one thing I could feel from the start is the love. It isn’t easy being a young pretty hunter but it is easy to be loved by a God. Such a cute little romance story with a kickass heroine. Perfect.
The Last story is called Half Life and is it like a palate cleanser. Something to remind us that it is not all devils and demons, but that sometimes good wins out.
This collection was gutsy and brave. It was strong and sweet. In my opinion it’s a perfect combination to make you want fight evil and find love for yourself.
I love anthologies. I like the different stories coming together. The fact that you really don't know what story is next or what will happen. This certain anthology had a theme, Vampires, obviously. I will give you a little review on all the stories.
House Of Wax In this book you learn about Odin and his family mainly through his grandfather's journals. You learn about the fact that his ancestor was wanted by the Queen of Vampires but he decided to go with his plan of incasing the Vampires in a wax tomb. Now in Odin's generation there are no Vampires but when people start to go missing he pays attention to what his grandfather has wrote.
Fate and Fortune Now this book takes a dark twist on the history of King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. You do see that King Henry's first wife gave him a daughter when he desperately wanted a son, so he locks them up. In walks Anne Boleyn, but there isn't something right with her. King Henry hires someone to help him figure it out. He ends up seeking the help of a fortune teller to see if he will ever get a son. This fortune tells him a beautiful woman will show up at the castle.
Natural Born Predators Callista Bell or just Bell is a vampire hunter on a mission. She is beautiful and not always taken seriously as a hunter. She has always heard stories of a God who is stubborn and carnky and happens to live in a castle in her town. Frey is a God and a King who happens to control the weather. which is good for the town as long as they stay on his good graces. As they start to build a relationship it's has tremendous ups and downs but they connect and hunt Vampires together eventually both accomplishing the goals they set out.
Half Life now this one shows you that you do have angels looking out for you. That they want to help you get a second chance. Bill is given a second chance at life. his angels are keeping an eye on him making sure he takes his second chance seriously. he will not have any memories of his previous life and he is given a great fresh start. It's up for him to make the better of this new life.
Bree Pierce has created a unique collection with Every Last Drop: A Vampire Anthology. It includes: House of Wax, Fate And Fortune, Natural Born Predators, and Half Life. The story begins with House of Wax: a battle between humans and vampires between Cobalt Blacksaint, a fearless human leader and Maelstrom, the soon to be vampire queen with her 12 hand picked warriors...What should have been a simple surprise attacked turned out to be anything but and many years later Odin Blacksaint must figure out what is going on in his community with people missing along with 12 figures from the wax museum. By doing so he must read his grandfathers journals and learn his family history with vampires, which he thought off as just childish stories (or so he says). Fate and Fourtune: Henry VIII needs an heir to the throne, while trying a new way to gain information from a fortune teller named Sybilla he learns he will gain an heir however... "With the amount of blood that will be on your hands, one can only be lost to the flames of hell"... Can Henry obtain an heir without losing his soul... Natural Born Predator is a vampire twist of beauty and the beast in a way. The beast (Frey who is also a God) and the beauty (a vampire Hunter named Bell (Callista Bell)). Whenever Frey gets angry or agitated enough he turns into a beast, with horns upon his head at all times, Bell is the one who calms hims even in his Beast state. There is more than meets the eye with Frey however, once upon a time he was nice and friendly until his human wife died during a horse riding accident. Ever since her passing Frey has been in a dark mood, since he also has special powers that affect the land and weather around him the community has also suffered...until he gets a taste of bell. This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
Every Last Drop (A Vampire Anthology) by Bree Pierce is a collection of short stories written by Bree Pierce the four stories are House Of Wax, Fate & Fortune, Natural Born Predators, and Half Life. The anthology starts off with House of Wax, Odin Blacksaint is part of a very old family line of cursed men, although the curse has skipped generations before unfortunately that isn't the case for Odin. The Curse comes back with an awakening of an old enemy of the Blacksaint family and its up to Odin and the towns people with the help from the enemy to keep the town safe. I really liked the plot of this short story, but I felt that the romance happened a little to quickly. Next in the anthology is Fate & Fortune, whats interesting about this one is that its more of a historical romance with a twist. Fate & Fortune is the story of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, except in this version Anne is a vampire that is compelling the king to set Catherine and their daughter Mary to the side to make her his queen. I liked this story more than I liked House Of Wax as far as the speed in which the story progressed. Book three Natural Born Predators is my favorite of the four short stories it definitely has a Beauty And The Beast like quality to it except this Beauty who of course is named Bell is a deadly vampire hunter and the beast is a god king. Its like Van Helsing meets Beauty And The Beast! The last story in the anthology is a flash fiction piece by Bree Pierce titled Half Life, in the beginning of the story you meet Bill a man who is close to death and upon dieing he is taken to “purgatory” by two angels where he is offered the chance at a second life like reincarnation in order to hopefully the second time around live a better life than the first. All of the short stories were fairly interesting, though some more than others it was still an entertaining read.
Some were better than others but none of them were extraordinary. The familiarity of using real historic figures and events that were factual and adding the fictional aspect to twist it was interesting. The riff on a well known fairy tale was a fail for me! It doesn't work when you make your heroine unlikable!
Every Last Drop: A Vampire Anthology by Bree Pierce 4 stars
Every Last Drop: A Vampire Anthology by Bree Pierce is a collection of short stories.
The anthology begins with House of Wax, which was a pretty interesting story and in my opinion, the best story of the book. It follows Odin Blacksaint as he finds out about his great grandfathers past and his skills as a warrior against the vampires. One vampire in particular named Malestrom has decided to wreck havoc among the city and Odin will draw upon his grandfathers journals for the strength to try to defeat Malestrom and the 12 vampires in her army.
In Fate and Fortune Henry VIII is married to Catherine who is unable to bear him an heir to the throne. He falls under the spell of Anne Boylen who uses her vampiric skills to compel him to be with her. He will get the heir he longs for eventually, but Henry being the man that he is falls for the soothsayer Sybilla. Who will be the last woman standing and who will provide the heir he has always longed for?
Natural Born Predators follows Belle who will fall in love with a beast. Their love story is really nice and this is a story that could have been a little longer.
Half Life was entirely too short of a story, but it was a cute ending to a book that had quite a bit of darkness to it.
Overall, the book itself was well written with the exception of the fact that some of the story lines could be full novels. Maybe that is something that the author will consider in the future.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This book contains three stories and is a standalone book. My favorite of the three stories was Fate&Fortune. This one was about Henry VIII and Anne Boelyn. This time period is really fascinating to me so this book peaked my interest a lot. I found myself googling different things to find out information. I think the author has an amazing imagination and to be able to Look at part of history and come up with such interesting ideas and tales is supercool! There is also a version of beauty and the beast called Natural Born Predators which to me is neat and really different then the beauty and the beast that we are used to. I felt that the female vampire hunter who portrayed Bell was super strong and a tough character. She was kind of a force to be reckoned with! Finally house of wax which is the first book in this anthology. I have never heard this or anything like this so I can't really say if this is based on anything or not. However I really enjoyed this one as well. Odin Blacksaint is the descendant of some powerful men and is now going to basically get out to the test when maelstrom rises again determined to feast upon every human she and her army can get their hands on. And it's up to Odin to stop her and save everybody. This was a good book and I read it pretty fast. I enjoyed the different takes on the stories. 4 stars! Thanks for letting me review!
A short story about the vampire/vampire hunter dynamic. I found this a very interesting tale on how vampires were dealt with...encasing them in wax. What a concept. I never read anything like this. The characters were well written and despite it being a short story, the author was able to capture the essence of the whole story. Very well done.
Fate and Fortune
This short story is a twist on the tale of Henry VIII. When told from this perspective, his actions become more plausible than the reality. In all the stories I have read about Henry VIII, they all mentioned how Ann Boleyn was able to bewitch the King. In this book, she is a vampire who has the ability to coerce someone to do as she wishes through compulsion. It makes so much sense to me now. I loved this story and again the author was able to capture the essence of the story in such few words.
Natural Born Predators
I have read a few stories with the author's interpretation of the infamous story of Beauty and the Beast but this one I must say is one of my favorites. I loved that the "beast", Frey is a God-King and "Belle" is a formidable vampire hunter. They are a perfect match and I just loved this story. I honestly would have loved a full novel on these two.
Half Life
This is a very short story about second chances. Wouldn't we all love some kind of do over in life. I enjoyed it.
Every Last Drop Anthology is the short story collection by Bree Pierce. And my first novel by this author.
I usually don't really novel like these but I really enjoyed this one. The main theme has to do with vampires so how could I resist.
House of Wax: After a series of people go missing, Odin Blacksaint discovers that what he thought was just old tales are actually truth. One hundred years ago, his forefather trapped the Vampire Queen Maelstrom and her twelve warriors in wax and made them into wax figures inside a muesem. With it being a hot summer, the wax has started to melt and the vampires want revenge.
I thought this was a really short story. It had a really sinister yet simple vibe to it.
Fate & Fortune: Its a retelling of Henry VIII but with Anne as a vampire.
I was initially unsure about it. But I enjoyed how the story flowed. Made it feel like it really could have happened in history.
Natural Born Killers: When her vampire hunting father goes missing, vampire hunter Bell goes looking for him. She meets Frey who is more than he seems.
This reminded me a Beauty and the Beast retelling. Which I enjoyed. My favorite of them all.
Half Life: A story of second chances and learning from your mistakes. I really enjoyed this though I wish it was longer.
Every Last Drop: A Vampire Anthology By: Bree Pierce 5 out of 5 stars
The book Every Last Drop: A Vampire Anthology by Bree Pierce has 3 vampire novelettes and one brief happy story. The 3 novelettes include a man whose family endures a curse all the while hunting vampires, a king who seeks a fortune teller only to find he has married a vampire, and a beast who falls in love with a vampire hunter. The final brief story will bring a smile to your face.
Each of these novelettes are wonderful reads. I have found that reading novelettes can sometimes be problematic as you are left either not understanding how a character got from one scene to the next or the ending is very bad. Not this set! They don’t hold back on the details which are very important to the story, while their endings satisfy the reader. Each of these bite size bits will have you enthralled from beginning to end. The 3rd novelette really called to me however I loved all of them.
Get ready to take a bite out of these stories and love every minute. I would recommend this book for anyone 18 years or older because of vampire violence and some sexual content. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Every Last Drop is a collection of three vampire novella’s. Each novella is different and unique for the story and plot. While they are all a compelling tail of vampires and humans, there is some uniqueness to them while there are some similarities. House of Wax will leave you wondering if all the wax figures in the museums are just wax or if they could be hundreds or century old vampires just encased in wax and put on display as a punishment for their crimes. Fate and Fortune is about King Henry and Anne. When Anne came to Henry’s court, he quickly became enamored with her. When he divorced Catherine and sent her and his daughter away, he married Anne. What he didn’t know was that Anne was a vampire and when their daughter was born, she was half vampire. It just proves that sometimes, there is something worse than loving a person. Natural Born Predators is Bell and Frey. Bell is a vampire hunter and Frey is a beast/human god. When Bell meets Frey at his castle because he has imprisoned her father, she instantly falls in love with him. Together they find a love that soothes Frey’s beast and makes Bell happy. She will always be a vampire hunter and he will always hate that she has to do this but no matter what, he will always love her.
What happens when an author puts a dark twist on history and fairy tales? An evening spent reading with all the lights on. In Every Last Drop: A Vampire Anthology, Bree Pierce brings vampire horror to a new level with three short stories.
House of Wax: A small town is terrorized by an ancient evil unleashed in the most unexpected way. If the man destined to stop it fails, the town will pay the price – in blood.
Fate & Fortune: Henry the VIII, in a desperate attempt to secure an heir, gives in to desire… and an abomination. Will he heed the fortune teller’s warnings before he too is damned?
Natural Born Predators: What if the Beast isn’t the only danger Bell encounters in the dark forest? Will their love reawaken something more sinister?
I enjoyed the twists Pierce put on the classic vampire tales. Nothing is a cliffhanger, but she kept the reader guessing if good would triumph over evil. Curl up in your comfy chair for a chilling evening of reading, but don’t forget to keep a stake within reach.
Every Last Drop: A Vampire Anthology by Bree Pierce
4 out of 5 stars I was given this book for an honest review…. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I have to say it was interesting this is a fast paced book with three short stories ad well rounded characters. Of all the books I have read I never heard of waxing a vampire which is ingenious. I think this was an awesome read you need to see what the vampire Maelstrom will do to the town once she is free. I loved Bree’s take on King Henry VIII reigned. We can see that King Henry can still be easily distracted by beautiful women and his ill temper will get the best of him. I also loved Bree’s take on Beauty and the beast with a twist Bell’s occupation is a vampire hunter is dangerous, but their love will bring about consequences like no other. When she enters the beast life is monster recedes and he finds some measure of happiness.
These three short stories are exciting and you will keep reading until the end. By Tracy
Every last drop is a book that contains 3 Vampire short stories. The first is House of Wax a small town with a unknown evil trapped inside a old wax museum. When the vampires escape their wax prison they are out for revenge. Odin is the one person who holds the answers to rid the town of them forever. Will he succeed or is this town doomed. This was a great start for the book! Immediately it drew me in and got me hooked to read the rest. Fate and Fortune is the 2nd story in the book and my second favorite! I love that it was a spin on Henry the VIII and Ann Boleyn. Fate and Fortune had love, betrayal and heartbreak. Natural Born Predators is the 3rd story and is may favorite of the whole book! It is a clever spin on Beauty and the Beast. Belle is a lethal Vampire hunter who meets the “beast” who in his story is actually a god. This story had everything…a kick butt heroine, a steamy beast and a battle to save two towns. I highly suggest you give this book a shot. The stories are short and exciting.
A collection of short stories involving vampires. Who doesn’t love vampires. These are the legitimate kind though so no sparkles. I enjoyed the twist in history. To give a reason for blood lust. Natural Born Predators was awesome. The Beauty and The Beast with a vampire twist. Belle is no damsel in distress. She is a hard core vampire hunter. She is lethal and hot. Frey is a god with the power to control the weather around his castle. He imprisoned Bell's father for trespassing. What he wasn’t expecting was this beauty to come and calm his world. He knows he can’t change who Bell is but can he accept the thought of her always putting her life at risk. All the stories were really good. It would be awesome to read full length novels of Fate and Fortune and Natural Born Predators. To get more details on the love stories and how the lives of the people effected turned out. To see that not all stories have a HEA.
The anthologies were easy to read though the writing style is a bit more juvenile I feel these books would be better classified in the young adult category. The twist on beauty and the beast and the story of Anne Boleyn was interesting with Bella being a hunter the beast being a god and Anne Boleyn a Vampire. The stories flowed easy enough into each other but the story lines seemed short and forced in some areas. The most enjoyable story line is that of Odin the one who learns that he is a vampire hunter by birth and it is his life duty to rid the town of the vampire queen Maelstom who has freed herself and her warriors from their wax prison. He trains the towns people who volunteer to help and the night before battle he is met and instantly falls for Naiad who was a nun that Maelstom turned out of spite. During battle he suffers a mortal wound and is spirited away by Naiad who then turns him.
Another win by Bree Pierce. I love all the stories in the anthology. I had read House Of Wax before so it was like visiting an old friend.
I simply adored the take on Henry the 8th and Anne Boleyn. As vampires. Worked beautifully. I would love to know more about them. :) But the story does have an ending, no cliff hanger.
My favorite, well, they are all my favorite, is her take on Beauty and the Beast. I was sad when it ended as I was so entranced by the story. Belle is still a kick butt girl and beast is adorable. Together they are the perfect couple.
Grab this anthology. It is not long, you could read it at night in bed. Yes, I did it and that is why I am suggesting it to you. :)
Grab your drink, blanket and begin. See you on the other side.
The concept behind this anthology is very intriguing. It basically three short stories about vampires but spun with storylines like no other.
House of Wax This story is about vampires that used to walk around freely among people a hundred years ago. They did what they wanted and when they wanted to do it. Maelstrom was the vampire chosen queen. She is the leader and will fight her enemies to protect her kind. Unfortunately, her biggest obstacle is the Blacksaint family. The males are considered cursed and years ago Maelstrom wanted Cobalt to join her but he devised a devious way to capture his enemies in the most devious way; being put away in a wax tomb. Now a hundred years later people are starting to show up missing in this small town and Odin, the descendant of Cobalt is wondering about the truth behind these stories he heard as a child. He quickly learns the truth and the curse that is bestowed on him. Can he save the town from Maelstrom and her army?
Fate and Fortune This is an awesome twist of the historical King Henry the VIII and Anne Boleyn. King Henry is the young kings looking for someone to bring him the male heir that he needs. Unfortunately, his first wife failed him by giving birth to a girl and so he locks her away and searches out to find a new wife to give him that male. His marriage to Catherine was difficult because she wasn’t able to get pregnant so Henry goes out and seeks Sybilla, a witch, but who he believed was a fortune teller. He wanted to know if a male heir will ever be born. He was shocked to find out how beautiful she was. She told him about a beautiful woman that would soon show up to his palace.
Anne Boleyn arrived at Henry’s court and she was exactly what Sybilla described her as. Henry did everything to court Anne and dissolve his marriage to Catherine. Unbeknownst to Henry, he’s actually being compelled by Anne. See, she’s a vampire and she wants his kingdom. You got to read it to find out what happens but it’s a cool way to twist historical events.
Natural Born Bell heard stories throughout her childhood of the God that lived in the castle near the village. He controlled everything. He could make the villagers miserable with the simple snap of his fingers. Frey’s wife some years’ prior, died from an accident and it left him to hide in his castle for years.
Bell showed up at the castle one day looking for her father who was a vampire hunter gone on the hunt and didn’t return for 2 months. Instead of finding her father she finds Frey and there is this instant connection and it frees Frey from his misery but unfortunately there is a father to rescue and vampires that need to be hunted.
The three stories were very creative and thought provoking. They were entertaining and fast to reading if you’re in a pinch.
Every Last Drop is a compliation of 4 stories by Bree Pierce. House of Wax Who knew that something you ancestor did a hundred years before you were born could come to effect you so much. Of course not everyones family has went up against vampires and lived to tell the tale. Now though you have a group of vampires out for revenge and determined that they will get the people responsible for their imprisionment. To stop all the tragedy that has already happened, they must depend on the notes from the past. But will it be enough? I loved the backstory she gave and the writing. She really captured the essence of the story. Fate & Fortune This is the story of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn rewritten in a time of vampires. What price would you pay to have an heir that you so desperately seek? Why would do to make that dream come true? Henry VIII has only ever wanted an heir, but his wife has been unable to provide. Along comes a beautful woman willing to give him whatever he desires, but everything comes with strings attached. I love the way she takes a part of history and rewrites it into almost a completely different story! Natural Born Predators This is a grown up version of a fairytale most of us read as kids, Beauty and the Beast. Bell is a kick ass vampire hunter and the Beast a god. I love that she took what was a traditional story and added her own spin on things. Half Life This was a very short but cute little story! Remember what life is all about before it is too late.
