Torn from Two is best read as a follow-up to Taken by Two. It is MMF/bisexual erotica and intended for 18+ readers only. Sam J.D. Hunt resides in Las Vegas with her husband, the inspiration for the young Thomas Hunt character, as well as her two children. Her debut trilogy, The Thomas Hunt Series, put a fun and unique spin on the popular BDSM genre. She followed up with the highly successful DEEP: A Captive Tale--a dark BDSM erotic captor/captive story about a pirate and his lady that spans time and space. Her fourth novel, the full-length standalone The Hunt for Eros is an erotic art adventure that combines spicy romance with a cultural adventure based on true life events. It has been described as being like The Da Vinci Code, but with lots of heat added.
Hunt's next release was co-written with her husband. Dagger: American Fighter Pilot is a steamy contemporary romance, which follows a squadron of fighter pilots as part of the American Fighter Pilot read-in-any-order series. Following the release of Dagger, Hunt released the much-anticipated MMF/Bi/Ménage erotic adventure, Taken by Two. Next, Hunt plans to release DEEPER: Capture of the Virgin Bride as a follow-up to DEEP. When not writing, Hunt enjoys travel, community involvement, spending time with friends and family, and hiking. She spends her days writing and trying to answer the age-old question: is it too late for coffee or too early for wine?
I love Penelope, Rex, and Nate! Their chemistry is still as hot as ever. They are each so different, but have the same thing in common, their love for each other. Their bond seems so strong, that nothing will break it. Will someone from Rex's past try to destroy that bond? Or is their bond of three really that strong, that nothing can break it? Amazing series! I can't wait to read what's next from this author!
Rex, Nate and Penny are going strong for almost one year now when their world implodes around them. All three of them make the journey from Columbia to Las Vegas to be in Penny cousin's wedding. Questions come up about how Penny can be in love two people. Nate's insecurities start showing and questions if Penny really can love two men at the same time.
A stranger comes into their lives from Rex's past and throws their lives into a tailspin. He plays on Nate's insecurities and drives a wedge between the three of them. Nate leaves Columbia and ends their relationship to pursue his sister, which she is on the run from an abusive husband. Without Nate there Rex and Penny relationship falls apart.
Great continuation of the Taken by Two. I just love how Rex, Nate and Penny click together. Will their love be able to withstand the trials and tribulations they are forced to endure in their unconventional relationship?
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
OMG I loved this story. You do need to read Taken By Two before you read this one.
I was happy to read more of Penny, Nate and Rex. Their love for each other is real, and strong. Individually they are so different, but together they are complete.
We are introduced to someone from Rex's past in this story. Is he out to destroy the bond between Penny, Nate and Rex? Is the bond between the three of them strong enough to weather through anything?
This story has elements of everything. It has its hot and steamy moments, it has some really scary parts, it has heartbreaking moments and it has a lot of love in it as well. Through out reading the conclusion of this two book set, I have found that I love the characters more then I did in the first part. I am sad that I won't be reading more of the three.
"We are Three. I Love you both" is my favorite quote from this book.
In true Sam J. D. Hunt fashion, Torn From Two has some great humor and some seriously STEAMY SEX!!! Add to that the inner turmoil of a secret kept, an outsider looking for more, and a family member in trouble; Hunt presents us with another exciting 5 STAR read! A highly recommend read easily accomplished in one sitting will demand your attention bringing you to its conclusion before you realize. As Torn From Two deals with a new series of issues for Rex, Penny, and Nate; it's best to check out the beginning of their story in Taken From Two (a PHENOMENAL 5 STAR READ). The little bubble this trio has built will be tested....is it strong enough weather the storm or will it burst into thin air? See for yourself if their love can truly conquer all.
Great read if....you enjoy romance novels, MMF, hot reads, love stories, and books with an HEA.
Side note: I read the first book, was IN LOVE. 100 percent completely. Seeing the title of this one made me nervous because I had fallen in love with them so hard before. Well, this story shows you how easily love can be challenged and when not secure enough in yourself and your partners it can be shaken at the foundation. I loved watching the characters connect and reconnect as well as discover what love meant to them. What I loved most was watching three people understand love does not have to be black and white, that it rarely is. I loved seeing how "unconventional" love to some is just LOVE and that's what I hope other people take away from this book. Love is about love. Period. Well done Sam JD Hunt. Well done.
I am not into threesome story but Ms. Sam JD Hunt changed my mind about this unique style of love. I never experienced it and do not think I have the guts to try it in real life.
Reading this book helps me open my mind how this lifestyle is so beautiful. Love has no limit. If everybody wants to try this lifestyle, make them happy and why not go for it.
This book is not only unusual read for me but it is one of the best of Ms. Sam JD Hunt story is. She know how to make her readers not only wild with hot scenes but this story is one of a kind. It is beyond amazing. It is suspense, adventurous, funny and most of all lots of love.
The book is hard to put it down. I knew our society is not fully acceptable of this kind of relationship, but once you read this book, it gives you knowledge. It is just like normal couple who are in-loved but the twist is, there is an extra person who equally loved you both.
It is a must read book. I recommend it especially people who are judgmental. You just have to open your mind. This story is beautiful. You will be amazed.
Disclosure:
I received an ARC of the book in exchange of my honest review.
From the talented mind of Sam JD Hunt, the second and final part of the two book series that started with Taken by Two. Her second book Torn From Two isn’t a standalone, as fab as it is you really need to read the first book it is well worth your time.
See broken is just broke not saying it cant be fixed, but only when you have a solid backing. In the begin yeah a bit rough around the edges for all three of them but their feelings settled in for each other and it was nothing but love in their own little world, where nothing else mattered.
About a year later the real world intrudes and all that the trio has built will be shaken to its core. Doubts and shadows from the past will threaten what each of them know. Ms Hunt puts pen to paper and gives us another remarkable story to feed off of, you cant help but feel for each of them. Kinda wanna wrap them in cotton and keep them safe. Great read from a great author. Enjoy
I love Penny, Rex and Nate! Sam Hunt wrote this story so well, you can really feel all of the emotions these characters go through. And there are some emotional times!! After adjusting to their relationship and becoming comfortable as a threesome, they expect things to continue smoothly. They are all happy and in love. But then someone from the past shows up, and suddenly their relationship is in turmoil as they struggle with insecurity and jealousy.
I love the way this was written, because it's so realistic, this is something that anyone would struggle with in their situation! I won't say anything else, you'll have to read the book to find out what happens, but it's definitely worth reading! Buy this book, you won't regret it!!
This book is awesome If you love M/M/F you will you this book You will want to read Taken by Two to understand the characters and emotion in Torn by two.The emotions run high betwen these couples Their Love is real and tested to a point you will need your kleenex. I love Rex he is such a strong character and while people see nate as weak he is very strong as well they go through so much with nate's sister going missing and a stranger from Rex's past coming into there life's putting all their lifes into danger and still having a HEA ending this was awesome 5 star book I couldn't put down.while sometime I was ready to throw my kindle I was glad I didn't loved every minute of it.
I loved to read more about Penny, Nate and Rex. This book really puts their love to the test with the introduction of Luther. This book really put my emotions threw the ringer. It was happy, loving, caring, heartbreaking, it even had its scary moments.
Awesome! Love Rex, Penny & Nathaniel. I fell in love with their story in Taken By Two and was so glad to get another book with them. This book will pull you back into their story and keep you reading until the last page. You will fall in love with them even more.
**spoilers** This is a continuation of Nate, Penelope and Rex's story. The author did a good job of not sugarcoating the love story between 3 people, who each have their own demons. Penelope became much more likeable in this book then in book 1. Rex and Nate were both likeable from the start. There is drama, secrets, breakups before these 3 broken people are able to find themselves back to each other. HEA
Just when you think Rex, Penny and Nate will live out their unconventional HEA, faces from the past threaten to knock their world off it's axis. Secrets, omissions, and someone planting seeds of doubt all lend a hand in the unthinkable. This has more action and suspense than the first, which when played out, also helps answer some of the questions that were swirling around in my head. I had some things figured out fairly quickly, others, not so much. In all a great story that I wouldn't mind seeing more snippets of in the future.
This is the second book in this series. Book 1 was excellent and this book, book 2, was too! Loved Rex!! He and Penny had so much heat between them. And Nate, was the glue that held them together. Loved it!! Highly recommend!
I’d like to start by thanking Sam JD Hunt for gifting this absolutely amazing book I love this series and I will definitely be recommending it to everybody.
A suspenseful conclusion to the story of three. A super hot romance that will keep you on your toes with the action that happens. Hot,steamy and good all the way till the end! Loved it
This his the first series I've read from this author and it won't be my last, a brilliant love story of 2men and 1 girl , its well worth 5* and worth reading x
I was seriously worried for the three lovers in this book. All seems to be going well between the three lovers until Luther shows up at the compound and Rex has to save him. He causes insecurity and doubt between the lovers. He plays mind games until all comes to a head one day and Rex kicks him out. But that's not the last we hear from the ghost from Rexs past. As their perfect union falls apart Penny decides her men are worth fighting for but little did she know that wasn't the biggest battle they will face. While Rex doesn't identify as gay or even bi he can't deny his love for Nate but with Luther lurking around will they get the chance to have their happy love of three. Their motto we are three, I love you both will be tested to the extreme can they survive.
Read Taken By Two FIRST! One of the things I loved about this sequel is something that rarely works for me in others, a year long time gap from the end of book one. The layout of this story is unique in that the absence of the last year actually allowed me to settle into the story quickly and fluidly. Is that a word? The narration by Penny fills in the time gap without the reader getting lost, and for me, actually explained a few things that I felt I didn’t get a good handle on in book one. With that said…. My god this book is ridiculously hot! I mean seriously – aside from the great character growth and action filled story line, the great bad guys and the angst-packed suspense, the physical relationship between Nate, Rex and Penny is completely volcanic! These three all came alive in book two. Especially Rex. Living in a bubble gave them the freedom they needed to not just embrace their relationship, but to set it free. Too much? Seriously. This is well written ménage. This is well written sex. Finding themselves interacting with the outside world tests their resolve to and commitment to each other in ways they never imagined. Penny’s future and Rex’s past are the dominant issues when the pressure for an heir and the ghost of a rebuked lover invade their paradise. Throw in a homicidal in-law, a group of ex-militia, a run-a-way sister, a bunch of drug dealers, and of course the normal insecurities of any relationship being challenged by outside influences…these folks have a lot going on. But this author keeps the pace at a perfect level that you don’t want to stop reading. I only did to sleep, for just for a little bit. It’s no secret that we get an HEA with this read, but the road there makes you feel like you earned it. Like the characters earned it! MMF/ménage rarely feels honest and true. This was an amazing journey that shows how powerful love can be, and how ‘unconventional’ can be beautiful. What a great ending. Highly Recommended!
A blast from the past turns the lives of Rex, Nathaniel, and Penny upside down. Can the trio restore their broken path or will the dangers that lie ahead take the chance away from them?
Sam JD Hunt has delivered another fabulous five star read that is like no other! She has taken on the ménage love story once again and delivered us a heart stopping and heart breaking story.
The path they lead was not an easy one and was full of danger. Each twist and turn either had my heart stopping or had my mind fill with dread; that is how all-consuming and captivating this story is. Sam JD Hunt truly knows how to not only write but deliver a story that will keep you enthralled from start to finish and keep you guessing as to where the story might go and end up.
I loved Penny more in Torn from Two, she had developed as a person and it was clear the love the three shared was what had made her a stronger and more determined woman; they had helped her to embrace being the woman she was deep down inside. She had also clearly become a rock in the trio’s relationship; she encouraged both Rex and Nathaniel to embrace their love for each other.
This book inspires people to be open to other diversities of relationships and to not hide away from the way they feel. I also feel this can inspire people to be open minded to the different kinds of love and relationships that surround us, that there is no right or wrong way to love and we each should do what makes us happy.
I recommend this series to those who enjoy erotica, love stories that are MMF, MM, and M/F. This series has romance, suspense, and mystery.
Reviewing on behalf of Relentless Book Chics Ramblings and Reviews
I loved this book! I fell in love with Rex, Nate and Penny in book 1 and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the conclusion of their story. The first book, Taken by Two should be read first.
This story has it all, drama, comedy, mystery, passion, love, hot sex, danger, adventure, secrets, kidnapping and an epic finale! I highly recommend this book and I’m sure I’m not the only woman who wishes she was Penny. Nate is a suit wearing billionaire and Rex is ex military and has piercings and tattoos.
After a year of being blissfully happy together Rex, Nate and Penny begin to feel the negative aspects of a love that is seen as different by the rest of society when they are faced with the judgements of others at Penny’s cousins wedding.
Nate’s recent insecurities are further fuelled when someone from Rex’s past returns and the manipulation and jealousy he creates heightens everyone’s emotions. Nate comes to the conclusion that Rex and Penny would be happier if they could be a “normal” couple without him so he leaves to search for his missing sister alone but he’s not the only one pursuing Amber.
Rex and Penny both have their own issues to deal with but they are prepared to do everything it takes to fight for their once in a lifetime love and to fuse the pieces of their broken hearts back together for eternity. The question is, can they overcome everything that stands in the way of their happiness so love can win against all odds?
Torn from Two picks up a short while after Taken by Two ends (no worries, no spoilers if you haven’t read the first book). Nate, Penny, and Rex are living together in beautiful South America. When a person from Rex’s past arrives at their doorstep—literally—a sequence of events will test their love for one another.
Rex is thrown for a loop when Luther shows up needing his help. There’s something about Luther that Penny doesn’t trust, but Nate seems to really like him. Luther is an enigma, and he has many layers that I found very intriguing. I enjoyed reading from Rex, Nate and Penny’s POV, and admire Sam’s ability to do that almost seamlessly. You feel like you’re in their heads and hearts while reading this story.
Meanwhile, Nate’s sister disappears after fighting her own demons, and he sets out to find her in order to keep her safe. While searching for her, Nate struggles to keep his head above water with his own issues.
I liked learning more about Penny and Nate’s pasts, which wasn’t fully explained in Taken by Two. It was great getting to know Nate a little better, and finding answers to questions I had about him from the previous book. Like Taken by Two, the love scenes in this book between Rex, Penny, and Nate are off the charts hot!!
There were twists and surprises that kept the story interesting. I really hated to see this series end, but I’m happy with how their story was wrapped up.
All I can say is, that I loved reading the follow up to Penny, Nate and Rex story. This is Torn By Two by Sam JD Hunt. “I can see how you love each other-I envy you, Penny. Love is love-I’ve never believed in labels.” “Nate, I love you so much, he loves you so much. Without you it all fell apart.” I couldn’t wait to see what happens with these three and what journey they had to look forward to with there on conventional relationship. I just loved how Penny, Nate and Rex, how they just fit together and never cared what others thought of them. I’m not going to lie, I just knew Luther was going to be trouble from the start and I was right. I was hoping that these three would get the happiness that they deserved. In this book you get the drama, a very good storyline and some really HOT sexy scenes. I’m not going to lie, I had to fan myself right from the start, just with a few pages in. From the start to the finish, I just couldn’t get enough of these guys and I’m sad it’s over, but I’m so glad that they found love with each other regardless of what others thought of their relationship. “We are three, we belong together forever. I’m so very sorry-I love you both.” I’m going to say go out now and one click this book today. I promise you’ll love their story just as much as I did. I can say that Sam JD Hunt is one of the most talented authors and I can’t wait to see what she writes next for us. “I love you both with everything inside of me, and I intend to show you that for the rest of our lives.”
