An award-winning lineup of creators present their takes on our favorite paranormal investigator's entanglements with a monstrous toy company, World War II fighter pilots, and a skeleton casting call. Featuring a pinup by Gary Fields, Weird Tales #8 is the conclusion to a hugely successful series.
Jill Thompson is an American comic book writer and illustrator. Probably best known for her work on Neil Gaiman's Sandman characters and her own Scary Godmother series, she has also worked on The Invisibles, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman and more recently, Beasts of Burden.
I hadn't been enjoying Weird Tales that much, but the series finishes on a high note with a whimsical bit of (gorgeously drawn) fun with Jill Thompson's 15 Minutes. The sweetness of Toy Soldier and the layers of Professional Help round things out, making #8 rise from the pack.
