He didn’t expect to meet his mate, but now that he has, he’ll do anything to protect her.
Emma Koons had been promised a spot in a Nevada ballet company, but after making a poor dating choice she’s out on her can, with no good work prospects. Now she dances in the Lollipop Lounge. It’s a far cry from ballet, but it keeps her body toned and ready for the day she might be able to audition again.
Quentin Armstrong is a loner mountain lion shifter with a yearning to be a part of something bigger. When the Fourniers call him for a favor, he accepts, hardly expecting to fall in love with the woman they send him to find. The last thing he wants to do is expose Emma to the dangers of his shifter world, but soon he finds himself fighting not only to keep her heart, but to save her life.

Liza got her start in romance by sneak-reading her grandma’s paperbacks. Now she divides her time between freelance editing and writing books about shifters with fierce and savage hearts.

So if Maverick from Fierce Player is my favorite male so far, then Quentin is second. Oh wait, I forgot about Gabriel! Dang it.
Well, that should tell you how swoon-worthy Quentin is. ;) He's very much a tough guy with a heart that yearns for family, a place to belong, and man I canNOT resist a wounded soul. He finds love very unexpectedly--in Emma Koons, a former ballerina, now, er, suggestive dancer, heh. And okay, can I just say that the Lollipop Lounge as a name for a business is just so perfect? I burst out laughing when I first read it, because I can't imagine a better name for an establishment such as that.
But anyway. Moving on!
I really like that Liza Street introduced characters outside of the Fourniers, as much as I love them, but there were still ties to the core group of mountain lions, which I liked. There was this one scene when Quentin enters the Lollipop Lounge looking for Emma, and what follows had me chuckling in my seat. If you've read it, you know what I'm talking about. There's a nice build of suspense as Quentin also looks for answers about what happened to the Fournier's sister, which ends with a nice bit of action and violence. But, as long as I get my HEA, I'm all for tearing up the bad guys.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*
I love getting these to review. Reading them is a little like having a sneaky ice cream at the end of a long, hot, bothersome day. You just can’t fail to have a little smile on your face as you consume something both sweet and naughty.
That’s enough bad metaphors for one review.
Fierce Dancer takes us outside the immediate Fournier circle, once again widening the world, introducing us to other shifters, other aspects of their culture and adding a new layer of intrigue. It’s nice to get a throwback to the first book again, with an old friend of Hera’s stepping in to the leading lady role.
I liked Quentin as a leading man, but then I’m a total sucker for the ‘lone wolf seeks pack’ trope, so this was pushing my buttons in all the right sort of ways. Did I say no more bad metaphors in this review? I’m so sorry.
Overall, another great saucy read that has me looking forwards to getting my mitts on the next instalment!
A sweet shifter romance with a side of suspense and danger
I loved Quentin and Emma’s story. Emma is ballerina but is currently embarrassed to be working as a stripper. Quentin, a mountain lion shifter, is sent to check up on Emma at the request of her best friend while he’s on his way to check up on another shifter. Quentin sees Emma and is immediately drawn to her. But Emma mistakes him for a potential roommate and she’s embarrassed enough to kick him out. To get to their HEA and assure their safety, they will have to escape rogue shifters and rescue an innocent. The story includes what you’d expect from romantic suspense - fighting, dangerous situations, evil actors, henchmen, loyal friends and family, difficult back stories, love, fated mates, and laughs. While short, the characters were fairly well developed and the story was well written. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. 3.75 stars
Emma Koons always dreamed of being a ballet dancer but one bad decision took that away from her. Now she dances at the Lollipop Lounge but hasn't totally given up on her dream and doesn't plan on being there forever. Quentin Armstrong is a lone cougar shifter who takes on odd jobs for other prides. When the Fournier pride calls for help, he readily agrees. He has to track down their sister, Cora, and he's been asked to check on Emma. Quentin certainly isn't expecting to find his mate, but Emma is it for him.
I'm really enjoying this series and this book is no exception. It's well-written with wonderful characters and is a quick, fabulous read. I was drawn in from the start and kept hooked throughout. I'm really looking forward to the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which I suggest you read in order for the most benefit and enjoyment.
Who is Quentin Armstrong? Why are we meeting him in this 5th book of the Sierra Pride series? Where do we find him? What is he? What does he do for a living? Who is Emma? What does Hera ask Quentin to do in regards to Emma? Where are Emma and Cora? What does that mean for Quentin? What does Hera think Emma is doing? What happens the night Quentin goes to look for Cora? Read and see how this story plays out.

Another easy-to-read installment in the series, Fierce Dancer is like it’s predecessors: well-written, highly enjoyable and standalone. The author does a great job—in very few words—of distinguishing her characters from one book to the next. They all have their own traits and quirks and idiosyncrasies that make them uniquely relatable.
While Quentin is busy doing a favour for the Sierra Pride, he meets Emma, Hera’s best friend. Quentin is certain that Emma is his mate, but feels he doesn’t have anything to offer her. Circumstances throw them together and they must work side by side to succeed in their quest. I loved Emma’s version of revenge on Quentin. This was a great storyline and I look forward to reading more. I received a complimentary copy of this book, and this is my honest review
This is another short but sweet and sexy story in the Sierra Prides series. I loved how strong Emma is even though she's had some things happen in her life that could make her weak. Once she meets Quentin, she finds out her very best friend has been trying to contact her. She's been avoiding that friend. Emma and Quentin have a run in with a shifter but they overcome together. In this book Emma finds love with a shifter and reconnects with her best friend.
So cute, the dancer and the rogue shifter. These stories are short, sweet and full of insta love, it’s all so adorably cute! I really liked Quentin’s character, the sad, lonely tough guy looking to settle down.
So, at the very beginning of this book, I was all, "Who's this Quentin guy? I want more Fournier boys!" But it didn't take long for me to have hearts in my eyes for this lovable lonely shifter who just wants a family. The feels! And who better for him than Emma, a dancer with her own insecurities? They were just puzzle-piece perfect for each other!
The story had me hooked from the beginning, but I won't give away anything spoiler-ish. Let's just say that if you enjoyed the previous books in the series and love the Fourniers like I do, you won't be disappointed. Some questions get answered, yet even more questions pop up when you realize there's still more to be unraveled.
I'm really impressed with the direction that this series is taking -- not predictable, but not too far out there that it's not believable. I'm so curious about what the future holds for these characters, and I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series to find out!
P.S. Quentin and Maverick are now tied for the Sierra Pride Book Boyfriend award.
Quentin, a roaming cougar shifter without a pride, is tasked by the Fourniers to find their missing sister, Cora.
While on the phone with them, Blake Fournier's wife, Hera, asks Quentin to do a quick search for her best friend, a ballet dancer based out in Nevada, who isn't answering her calls.
Quentin finds Emma pretty quick. She's a dancer alright, but it ain't ballet that's keeping her in shape. Sexy shenanigans ensue, but Quentin has to keep focused on his perilous main job: finding Cora.
Another fun, sexy and nail-biting read from Liza Street. Her writing truly hooks you, with great dialogue, gripping story-lines and tension filled scenes. I found myself on the edge of my seat, rooting for Quentin, the hot mountain lion who longs to belong, and Emma, the girl who's not quite where she wants to be.
Even though the story works so well as a stand-alone (both main characters are new to the series), I really enjoyed catching up with some of the other characters from the series. These guys really get in your head!!
And readers, watch out. The sexy stakes have been upped in this novelette!
