A curvy woman desperate to protect her little brother + a bear shifter mechanic who will do anything to keep his mate from harm + a team of shifters determined to help their friend and his mate = one action-packed romance!

Curvy Elise Robbins is having the worst day ever. She lost her job, a gang is threatening to harm her little brother if she doesn't hand over the money meant to put him through college, and then her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere... in a storm. But just when she thinks she's hit rock bottom, the strongest, sexiest man she's ever seen pulls over to fix her car.... and, if she'll let him, her life.

Bear shifter mechanic Noah Hawley can't say no to a woman in distress. In fact, he can't say no to anyone who needs help, which is why he's assembled a team of misfit shifters, from a former Special Forces dragon shifter with a secret to a playboy tiger shifter race car driver. But brave, curvy Elise isn't just a stranger in need of assistance... she's the fated mate he believed he'd never find.

But she's got more problems than a broken transmission. Can she trust him enough to let him help her, and let him into her life? Can he and his team save her and her brother from a gang that's way more dangerous than anyone expected? And can two independent, lonely people admit that what they really need is love?

Bear Mechanic is a sizzling hot, standalone BBW bear shifter romance. No cliffhangers!

Sweet shifter romance with a rag-tag crew..

Noah was such a sweet hero. He was constantly thinking of Elise and her needs, and it was nice to have a non-jerk hero. Elise was a struggling but determined heroine who found exactly what she needed during a rain storm. Their story was one of instalove (which I don't mind in shifter stories) and trust, and I can't wait for the other crew member's HEA, especially Tyler!

Bear Mechanic was ok. Located via Kindle Unlimited, I thought that Bear Mechanic would be humorous. I mean, with a title like Bear Mechanic and the blurb, I borrowed this one and settled in for some laughs.

Sadly, Bear Mechanic takes itself rather seriously – either that or the author and I don’t have matching senses of humor. Everything was very serious in the way that paranormal romances are: damsel in distress, kidnapping, sibling disappeared, etc.

It was ok. I finished it – skimmed a bit near the end. Its entertaining enough but not as quirky and fun as you would expect with the blurb and title.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

Noah will never hesitate to stop and help anyone along the side of the road… or anywhere else for that matter. Especially when the person in need is a beautiful woman looking defiantly and helplessly under the hood of her obviously broken down car on the side of a dark roan on a very stormy night. The defiant he gets, because he’s a stranger and she’s alone so this little mouse is trying to roar for his benefit, but the helpless won out in the end. Yet the one thing Noah didn’t expect in this act of mercy was to discover that the lady in trouble was his mate. And his lady was obviously in more trouble than a broken down car should account for.

Elise was panicked and desperate. The last thing she needed on this horrible day was for her car to die out here in the unknown woods on a dark, stormy night. When a stranger pulled up behind her car she had no idea if he was friend or a member of the gang that had threatened her earlier in the day. So she’d fake it to survive whatever was heading her way. The only person she could depend on in this world was her little brother, Cecil, and he was missing. She’d fight anyone, including this stranger if necessary in order to find him, hopefully safe and sound at their grandfather’s cabin. What she couldn’t know yet was that this stranger was her mate, and he would move through hell and high water to protect her and anyone dear to her.

I really liked the diverse group of shifters that Noah has pulled together into a team that helps the helpless. They are a crazy bunch and exactly who you’d want by your side during any kind of trouble. I sincerely hope that this group is turned into a series where we get to learn each shifter’s story. They are all intriguing, powerful, a bit of an attitude and sexy as sin. Yeah, I’d love to learn all of their stories.

Noah and Elise’s chemistry is solid and they make a believable couple as they set out to find Cecil and take care of the gang that is threatening them permanently. It’s not going to be an easy fight, but with the entire team behind them Elise and Cecil have a fighting chance to survive.

I enjoyed Bear Mechanic very much and would not hesitate to recommend it to any Shifter or Paranormal Romance reader.

I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

Zoe Chant is one of my go-tos for short, fun supernatural romances. This one wasn't her best, but it was still a good read. Like her other titles I've read, it's fast, straightforward, not a lot of angst, a bit of humor, and likeable characters. In short, a fun bit of supernatural escapism.

It is insta-love. I think they get to the "I love you" stage of things within 48 hours? But it's also a shifter romance. I'm a little more lenient on those because of the magic involved and the whole "fated mates" business. I figure magic can move things along a little faster. Still, if you want a slow burn, this isn't it.

Going along with the insta-love... well, it is only a short story/novella - 90ish pages? Not a lot of time to really dig deep into anyone's backstory of really develop the plot. Expect things to move along at a brisk clip. Still, sometimes you need that quick escape, not 800 pages of world-building.

Alternating 3rd person POV. No cheating, no OW/OM drama, no love triangle nonsense. No cliffhangers, and although it's not listed as part of a series, there are a bunch of likeable side characters who would be good to read about, so who knows what the future will bring. (I personally want Oliver's story - geeky and panther shifter - two plusses in my book right there!) Fast and not too deep, but still enough meat on the story to entertain. A good afternoon read (only a couple hours). HEA with epilogue.

Would I read more from this author? Of course.

Very short, but good

Hopefully, this will be the start of another new series by Zoe Chant. I would love to see the rest of the crew find their mates. I would have liked the story better if it had been longer. There was much more I wanted to see. Elise is in trouble, because of her younger brother's help! Fortunately, Noah finds her on the side of the road with a broken-down car. As a bear, he recognized his mate immediately. Things move very quickly from there. There are some surprises and twists to this story that I wasn't expecting! The pace is fast, the tone is hopeful and the storyline is lightly character and action oriented. There are some steamy scenes and the characters are vivid and endearing. That's why I would have liked more to the story. This is a nice quick read, but not as good as her full-length stories. Try it for yourself, if you like quick shifter romances with some mild action. Enjoy!

GREAT book and story! Definitely recommend!

This is the second book that I've read by Zoe Chant and I've enjoyed both books and look forward to reading more of her books. I'm an avid reader and my favorite genre is paranormal, especially about shifters and vampires. I loved this storyline between Noah and Elise. The romance, Noah finding his mate in Elise, Elise finding love with Noah before even finding out that he is a bear shifter and his friends being shifters, as well. Elise, Noah and his shifter friends all chipping in to save Cecil, Elise's brother, accepting Elise into their family, just as Elise accepted all of them for what they are. Bear Mechanic was an exciting and romantic read with a HEA ending 😊

Great story

This is a great story containing a bear, a dragon, a wolf, a fox,a panther, a tiger and a group of hyena bikers.
Elise has been threatened by a biker gang wanting money her brother owes. Going on the run to find her brother her car breaks down.
Noah is the owner of Sweetwater Automotive and a bear shifter. His crew are also shifters and family.
Noah stops to help Elisa alongside the road. Starting them on journey to save her brother. Will they find him before the hyenas do? Will Elise accept Noah as her mate? I give it 5stars.

Fated, Mated & Loved.

Oh! What I would give to be part of this menagerie family of predator shifters.
An interesting bunch of likeable characters, each with I'm sure a story of their own to tell, that I would love to read about. (Pretty Please)
As for the main characters in this story, Noah & Elsie, great chemistry, sexy hot, make you blush moments & of course love.
Another quick, packed filled highly entertaining story from the mind of Zoe Chant.
I have no trouble recommending this book.

Elise and Noah

Woah! Really good read with great characters. Fast paced and short story but didn't felt rushed and unfinished. Noah is a bear shifter, he finds Elise in a dark stormy road with car problems. The last thing he expects when he stops to help is to come face to face with his fated mate. Elise is on a mission: to find her baby brother before trouble finds him. Their attraction and chemistry is strong from the very beginning and he will do anything to help her. Highly recommended

Awesome story about a mechanic bear

Noah is a bear shifter who owns is the only shop name Sweetwater Mechanics. Elise is looking for her brother Cecil who borrowed money from motorcycle gang.

How will they ever pay the money back? Are Noah and Elise fated mates?

The characters are relatable, intriguing, and very real. The plot is saving her little brother from a motorcycle gang in this fast paced drama.

I like this story because my own dad was a mechanic and this story made me a little homesick. I highly recommend the story.

Terrific Zoe Chant Story OVER 18 READING

E!use car breaks down in the rain and Noah comes to her rescue. He helps her with her car, helps her find her little brother, then gives them a safe place to stay. He and his friends will help get her brother back again after he is taken by a shifter biker gang . Though he had to explain about shifters and why he and his friends needed to get him back and not normal human cops. This is a very good story with fun, danger friendship and a love story. I love Zoe Chant's books.

What would you do for family?

A group of misfit shifters run Sweetwater's Automotive, a big family. Wild Dogs- not wolf shifters, is the bikers and money power people. Now, add a sister and brother with money concerns. Spice, surprises and a bit of struggles make for an interesting story. A standalone that makes you want to read about the other shifter characters in future stories. Zoe Chant is an author you can count on for good stories ever time. GOOD JOB!

5 minutes and they’re holding hands, 15 and they’re kissing.

Just your typical fated-mates, insta-love shifter book. Short, with lots of hot sex, and a little plot thrown in for good measure.

Meh - the "little brother" is a 20 year old idiot who should know better, everything happens in much too short a time frame, there's a bunch of hints about mysterious pasts that don't come in to play, and I just didn't connect with any of the characters that much.

18+ paranormal shifter romance. Steamy and cute bear shifter, human woman romance. It has the obligatory danger and beastly loving that all shifter romance seen to have. It is pretty tame by shifter romance standards.
