Anna Adams

Anna Adams was in the US Navy, also working on a business degree full-time, when her first child was born. That little guy changed her life--created priorities. She wanted her children to grow up, believing they could do the most unlikely things.

Like writing--which she'd done since she was old enough to force someone to listen to stories and then old enough to pick up a pencil and a piece of paper.

She switched to an English degree--and ignored her husband when he asked if she planned to "open an English store," and eventually found jobs doing any kind of writing. And she learned to write books.

Twenty-something books later, she's a USA Today Bestseller, and she's still believes in unlikely things. Like true love that everyone can believe in.

Let me just start off by saying I LOVE holiday books, especially at this time of year. They just put me in a great mood. I was asked to review this box set and I jumped at the chance. What's better than reading 1 holiday book? That's right...reading 15!!! This set includes 5 Books. Each book has 3 Novellas each. Each of these 3 stories are connected. Each book in this set takes place in the same location, a small and wonderful town called Christmas Town in Maine. So that is the way I split up my review (just to help you understand my review a little better). This set presents the reader with holiday cheer, romance, and family.
------------------------------
BOOK 1: ONCE UPON A HOLIDAY
Once Upon A Thanksgiving: Anna Adams (4 STARS)
In this story you meet Micheal who is trying to care for his grandparents who ran away from their assisted living facility to go back to their hometown. You also meet Lacey who was hired by them to decorate their house for the upcoming holidays. She helps run a company called Boxes and Boughs with her two best friends.  Soon Micheal and Lacey find themselves at odds with what they see is right for his grandparents, but they also can't deny the attraction building between them.
This story was so good. It told a tale of holiday cheer, a search for independence, and the love a family.

Once Upon A Christmas: Anna J. Stewart (5 STARS)
In this book you see Charlotte from Boxes and Boughs help two young kids have a Christmas they want, but won't get this year. With their mother dead, they now live with their reclusive uncle who doesn't seem to care much for the holidays. Charlotte is on a mission to help these kids have a good Christmas no matter what. While in the process she may find a little something she has been missing too.
This book was awesome. It literally grabbed me and had me crying in the first chapter. The kids really made the story. It also made me very happy. This is a great short story filled with love and Holiday cheer.

Once Upon A New Years Eve: Melinda Curtis (5 STARS)
In this book you see Gavin, the other partner from Boxes and Boughs. Gavin is fighting his grief over the death of his friend and trying to decide to stay when he feels like he needs to keep going.  Amelia is a vet who is trying to find her place in Christmas town alone. Together, they help each other heal, with the help of none other than a playful dog.
This book was so cute. The dog was the winner of this story. I love my animals so this story won me over fast. This story was a wonderful story of healing and love.

BOOK 2: HOLIDAY HEROES
Thankfully Yours: Leigh Riker
(5 STARS)
Ash lost his leg while he was a Navy Seal. He has came to Christmas Town to take over the Blue Spruce Mountain Resort, a ski resort that his father owns. He battles daily with his pain from losing his leg and his confidence. Jill is a teacher facing her own daily pain. She lost her husband 3 years back after he had an accident while skiing on Blue Spruce Mountain. This connection makes her dislike the resort and Ash from the beginning. Soon she can't deny the connection that they have, despite all the pain that surrounds them.
I'm all about books with our military in them. My husband is a disabled vet and so I feel for them all. I know how to relate I guess. This story was awesome and touching. Sometimes its hard to heal both mentally and physically. This story shows that and so much more.

Cooking Up Christmas: Tara Randel
(5 STARS)
Simon is the new chef at Blue Spruce. He's helping out Ash while also trying to follow his dream of owning his own restaurant. Gabi is the general manager of the resort and so its her job to make sure things run smoothly. Her and Simon clash a lot, but soon their attraction to each other is something they can't ignore.
This story was a great addition to to this book. I really liked the story and the characters. This story was about following not only your dreams, but also your heart.

Countdown To Romance: Cari Lynn Webb (5 STARS)
Zach is a friend to Ash and Simon. Hes an ex Navy Seal and is now the handy (do it all) man at Blue Spruce. Emily is a friend of Gabis and the sister to Chris, the Sheriff of Christmas Town. Emily is also an ER nurse. In this story Emily is trying to run from her family commitments and her past while Zach is determined to save her from herself and to make her stop running.
This was a really good story. Both Zach and Emily have rough pasts and together they fight to get past it and build into something neither of them could have imagined. It was very action packed and was an awesome story.

BOOK 3: 24 NORTH POLE LANE
Hers By Thanksgiving: Carol Ross
(5 STARS)
C.J. is coming back to his Uncle Johns horse ranch after he passed away. While he is dealing with his grief, his fiancee, Krista, starts handling things with the horses. Allison, a friend and employee of Johns, has a horse named Nash who she has raised from just a baby. She loves this horse and will fight to finish paying for her. He was sold to C.J.'s Uncle and sh was in the process of buying Nash back when John died. She is hoping that C.J. will still honor the deal, even without proof. Soon the horse is not the only thing up for grabs.
I love my animals and so this book was very touching. The love for these horses really makes this book. Its filled with love for animals and romance and it was so very good.

Peace, Love, and Baby Joy: Amy Vastine
(5 STARS)
Lucas is helping his family when his ex Valerie shows up. Hes shocked when he sees her and gets even more of a shock when he notices she is pregnant. Their families have been rivals for years, a rivalry that led to their relationship falling apart to begin with. Now Valerie is back in town and pregnant. Maybe, through all the fussing and drama, they can be a real family. FINALLY.
This story was so cute. Valerie and Luke find themselves in a very awkward mess, but it all tells a good story. Holiday and Family Rivalry and a new baby....what could go wrong?

Never Say Never On New Year's: Cheryl Harper
(4 STARS)
Chris is raising his daughter Sydney alone after his wife Amanda dies. Ren was Amanda's best friend who left Christmas Town to make her way in London. Now she's back home for a new start. Along the way she may find something she didn't even know she wanted.
This book was a touch sad at times, but it was still good. It was a heartwarming and gentle romance and story.

BOOK 4: MAGIC MOMENTS
Christmas Past: Tara Taylor Quinn
(5 STARS)
Bella has a special gift. She can feel what others feel. Sheriff Chad is on the search for a little girl that has gone missing. Chad and Bella pair up to help find the little girl before its too late. These two together are hoping to not only find the little girl, but to find what they each are missing in their own lives as well.
This story was a fast paced story. It was a really scary, but wonderful tale of using a gift, even one you don't to have, for good. The ending to this story was indeed magical.

It Only Happens In Christmas Town: Shirley Hailstock
(5 STARS)
Whitney has had a rough year. Her fiancee dies, shes having problems with her business, and a strange woman came to her telling her she needed to do 2 things. She soon finds herself in Christmas Town on a magical journey. Trent finds himself enamored with Whitney when he meets he. He was told by a gypsy woman that Emerson needed his help, so he makes it his work to win, and help, Whitney.
This book is all about magic and fate. It was a very good story and was magical from the very first page. This story told a tale of healing and holiday spirit. It was awesome.

The Magic Stocking: Liz Flaherty
(5 STARS)
Ellie is on her own for the first time. She runs a small sock and glove store called Fingers and Feet. She is only expecting to stay in Christmas Town till the holiday season is over. Pat runs a tree farm and magically (cough cough) meets Ellie. They begin dating and in no time the magic that is Christmas Town has them both falling for each other.
This book was so sweet. I love short romances. This one had moments where I was scared it may get a bit ugly. I mean that's what you would expect when exes and parents get involved. It wasn't like that though. It was short and sweet and filled with holiday cheer. And of course it had tons of romance and magic.

BOOK 5: NUTCRACKER SWEETHEARTS
Thanksgiving Duet: Dana Mentink
(5 STARS)
Pippa is a new mother. Her best friend died and left her in charge of little Viola. She is in Christmas Town working with the Orchestra for the holidays. Brodie met Pippa by chance when Viola wondered off and was in need of help. He has no intention of ever letting a woman close enough to hurt him. She is all business and trying to make it with her new little girl in tow. Maybe together they can heal old wounds and make new memories.
This book was a bit sad, but it told a good story. I loved the characters and the story. It had a great ending.

Christmas Curtain Call: Roz Denny Fox
(5 STARS)
Giselle is working as a ballet director at the theater in Christmas Town. Connor works for the paper while raising his daughter, Misty, alone after his wife's sudden death. Conner is dealing with budgeting issues, while trying to help keep Giselle in a job, since he is her benefactor. Together they begin to bond and soon they find themselves falling for each other, thanks to Misty.
This book was so cute. Misty is the real star of this book. She is so innocent that know one knows what she is really doing, but it's really easy to pick up on. This was a great story, start to finish.

Set For New Year's: Amie Denman
(4 STARS)
Jenny is the costume maker for the big Nutcracker production in Christmas town. Neil is the set builder. Neil is off limits and very closed off, but poor Jenny can't help but notice him. Soon the same goes for him. Jenny is something he never thought he'd want.
This story was good. Both Jenny and Neil are loners it seems. Their romance is slow forming and so sweet. Wonderful story.
------------------------------
As a whole, this box set was amazing. Each individual novella  presented a great tale. I loved how the 3 novellas made up each book. It made each book so much easier to love. I loved all the romance, family, and holiday cheer in this set. I will definitely be recommending this wonderful set....Stormi

This is a review for three of the fifteen novellas in this collection. All three of these interconnected stories were sweet and fun. They were easy to sit down and enjoy and were a nice way to look forward to the upcoming holidays.

Once Upon a Thanksgiving by Anna Adams

Of the three stories, I had a bit more trouble connecting with the characters in this novella, but still enjoyed the story. Bring together a man who loves his family but feels he has something to prove, with a woman who doesn’t have a strong family connection, and two grandparents who simply want their extended family home for Thanksgiving and you have the makings for a very unique celebration.

Once Upon a Christmas by Anna J. Stewart

In this novella, it took me a little bit to warm up to the hero of the story, however, once I understood his back story and watched the leading lady work her holiday magic for two sad children, I really enjoyed seeing this little family learn to celebrate Christmas together.

Once Upon a New Year’s Eve by Melinda Curtis

This novella was fun right from the start. The two main characters were both hurting in different ways and neither one was very happy with the way their lives were taking shape when the story began. I enjoyed watching their journey together and the humor that the dog brought into the story.

I received a complimentary copy of these three novellas. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed reading The Heartwarming Holiday Collection! Fifteen authors wrote fifteen great reads!
In the first novella, Boxes and Boughs, by Charlotte Powell, Michael Hume is in Christmas Town, Maine visiting his grandparents and trying to convince them that they should not be living on their own. His Grandmother has hired Lacey Dickens to make an elaborate Thanksgiving decoration in the front of their home. While working for his grandparents, Lacey starts to form a friendship with Michael. What can Michael and Lacey learn from each other about family, hope and the love of a lifetime?
Once Upon a Christmas by Anna J. Stewart is a sweet novella that I am sure you will enjoy! Dr. Grant Carver recently received custody of his niece and nephew after his sister passed away. He is desperately trying to finish writing a college textbook before the deadline, and does not know much about raising children. His niece, Addison wants to have a Christmas like her Mom use to have, so she takes the money she has saved to Boxes and Boughs and hires Charlotte Powell to help. Can Charlotte bring the Christmas spirit back into the lives of this family? Magic is in the air in Christmas Town, Maine.
Gavin Elliot is not certain his future resides in Christmas Town, Maine. He enjoys working with his partners at Boxes and Boughs, but he misses the thrill of being on the road. One day he meets veterinarian, Amelia Lawson, also known Dr. Scrooge. You will enjoy reading how the rest of the story unfolds right up until the New Year. It is a fun-filled fast read that you won’t be putting down anytime soon.
Ash Kincaid comes to visit Christmas Town, Maine from Virginia. He is on a mission to see if his father’s ski resort is worth investing in repairing or if it should be sold. While in the area, he meets widow, Jill Morgan. Her husband was killed at the ski resort. Ash is drawn to her, but will she be able to put those awful memories behind her for a friendship with Ash? This sweet novella, Thankfully Yours, by Leigh Riker is definitely one to read!
Gabi Fortier enjoys being the general manager at Blue Spruce Mountain Resort in Christmas Town, Maine. It seems that all newly hired Chef, Simon Tucker and Gabi can agree upon is to disagree. Will these two ever be able to agree on anything, including their feelings about one another? You will enjoy Cooking Up Christmas by Tara Randel, a delightful read!
In the next novella, Countdown to Romance by Cari Lynn Webb, Emily Hayes is back in Christmas Town, Maine preparing for her brother’s wedding. While staying at a cabin at the Blue Spruce Mountain Ski Resort, she meets ski resort chief engineer Zach Evan. Emily is looking forward to leaving Christmas Town as soon as possible to start her new job in Florida, while Zach is trying to convince her to give Christmas Town a second chance. Be sure to check out this novella to see how the rest of their story unfolds.
Hers by Thanksgiving by Carol Ross was very enjoyable! Allison Talbot’s friend has recently passed away. His estate is where her beloved horse, Nash is boarded. She doesn’t exactly own Nash, and when his nephew, C.J. arrives to take care of the estate, Nash’s future seems uncertain. Allison will do anything to make sure Nash is safe and secure with her. This fast paced novella is a great read. There are quite a few surprises sprinkled throughout the story as well!
Peace, Love and Baby Joy by Amy Vastine is filled with frustration, discord, hope and love. You will find yourself laughing one minute and crying happy tears the next. Valerie and Lucas Baker got married a year ago, and divorced a few weeks later. They thought they would be able to overlook the dislike their families had toward each other. Valerie moves to Chicago, but returns to inform Lucas that she is pregnant and the baby is his. She has no intentions of staying in Christmas Town, amongst the fighting families. Lucas has a business in Christmas Town, so what will he do? Is there any chance Valerie and Lucas cold be a family again? A definite read!
Ren Monroe just moved back to Christmas Town from London. While there, she spends time with her favorite two people-her deceased best friend’s husband, Chris, and their daughter, Sydney. Can she make a new life back here in her hometown? Never Say Never on New Year’s by Cheryl Harper is a great read!
A three-year old girl goes missing in Christmas Past by Tara Taylor Quinn. The Sheriff of Christmas Town, Chad Andrews will do everything he can to find the little girl. Even though Bella Potter has never met the girl it seems like she can help. You will have to read this novella to see if this unlikely Team of two can find her?
Whitney Emerson is visited by a complete stranger in a coffee shop. The stranger gives her two tasks that must be completed by Christmas. Funny thing is Trenton Knowles, who lives a few states away in Christmas Town, Maine is visited by the same stranger. Will Trenton and Whitney’s paths meet? You want to be sure to check out this fun read, It Only Happens in Christmas Town by Shirley Hailstock.
The Magic Stocking by Liz Flaherty is a fun, fast-paced read. Ellie Griffith just moved to Christmas Town, Maine to work in a store that her best friend from college owns. She moved from Beverly Hills, California and is adjusting quite well. While here she meets tree farmer, Patrick Nolan. They soon become friends, but will their relationship develop any further if Ellie’s job is just temporary over the winter?
Thanksgiving Duet by Dana Mentink is a great read! Pippa Lewis leaves New York City and arrives in Christmas Town, Maine. She is the replacement conductor for the Nutcracker Ballet Pit Orchestra. She still can’t believe her friend, Alice passed away and now she is the legal guardian of her three-year old daughter, Viola. While in Christmas Town, Pippa meets Bodie Stark. Their first meeting did not start off in on the right foot, but soon after they become friends. Could there ever be more to their relationship? When Pippa and Viola find themselves in a dire situation, Bodie will go to great lengths to make sure they are together and safe. This fast-paced novella will have you smiling, laughing and crying throughout the chapters. You will feel like you are right there with the characters in Christmas Town, Maine, a most pleasant place to be!
In Christmas Curtain by Roz Denny Fox, Connor Adams finds himself attracted to his daughter’s new ballet instructor, Giselle Pascal. Connor’s wife passed away from a brain aneurysm, but is it too soon to look towards dating Giselle? Some folks in Christmas Town have started gossiping after seeing the two together. You will want to be sure to check out this beautifully written novella to find out the rest of their story.
The final novella, set for New Year’s by Amie Denman was a perfect story to end the collection. Jenny Roberts, the new Home Economics teacher created most of the costumes for The Nutcracker Ballet in Christmas Town. She volunteers and helps any ways she can. It keeps her busy and her mind occupied on other things other than her past. However, there is someone that catches her eye, Neil Minor, the quiet, reserved, set builder of The Nutcracker Ballet. Is a friendship even possible for either of them? You won’t want to miss this great read!
The Heartwarming Holiday Collection was a phenomenal read! I found myself wanting to read more about this beautiful town and its residents in Maine. I definitely was not ready for the last novella to end. I highly recommend reading and taking a visit to this one-of-a-kind town!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book from one of the authors and have given my honest opinion.

Book 1: Once Upon a Holiday
Lacey Dickens, Charlotte Powell, and Gavin Elliot were college roommates who recently reconnected and decided to start a decorating business Christmas Town. In an effort to build the business, they agree to just about anything - even if it means they have to risk their hearts in the deal.

Novella 1: Once Upon a Thanksgiving - Anna Adams,
This is Lacey's story.
Michael Hume has returned to Christmas Town to collect his grandparents and take them back to their retirement home in Washington DC. However, when he arrives, he finds them unwilling to leave and himself in a difficult situation too. On the one hand, the rest of the family and his business is in DC, yet the woman he's falling in love with is here in Christmas Town.

Unfortunately, I didn't like this story too well. I didn't like the way Michael was treated. He's presented as a computer genius with a successful business, yet neither Lacey or his grandparents gave him much respect. They expected him to just abandon his life's work and move up to Maine. Also, Lacey came across as selfish to me. It was all about her and her new business. Until someone pointed out that maybe she should compromise with him, she never considered anything else. And, the grandparents didn't win my affections either. From the open scene, they were rude to Michael. All in all, It came across as completely unbelievable for me.

Romance - PG
Language - clean
My rating - 2 stars

Novella 2: Once Upon a Christmas - Anna J Stewart,
This is Charlotte's story.
Charlotte agrees to bring Christmas to two children whose mother recently died. In the end, she finds that their uncle needs Christmas as much as the children.
Dr Grant Carver doesn't know step one of how to handle children, yet he's now the sole guardian of his niece and nephew. Furthermore, when they start asking for a Christmas like his sister gave them, he finds the pretty decorator more than just a temporary distraction.

In contrast to the first story, I honestly liked this one. I found Charlotte and Grant's interactions realistic and the children were wonderful. I also laughed at Grant and his awkwardness.

Romance - PG
Language - clean
My rating - 5 stars

Novella 3: Once Upon a New Year’s Eve - Melinda Curtis,
This is Gavin's story.
My first reaction was "Snowflake is BACK!!" If you don't know what I’m talking about, please read the author's "Dog-Gone Christmas" from the collection Christmas Pets and Kisses. Snowflake is amazing, even if he is a dog.

Amelia Lawson, nicknamed, Dr. Scrooge, is the local veterinarian. Unfortunately, her business is suffering because people have the impression that she avoids Christmas. However, when Snowflake shows up at her door with Gavin following shortly behind, things begin to change. But, will those changes be permanent, or is a special someone going to leave and never look back?

This story has plenty of laughs as well as some soul searching. All in all, a good read.

Romance - PG
Language - clean
My rating - 5 stars.

Book 2: Holiday Heroes
Asher Kincaid, Simon Tucker, and Zach Evans bonded like brothers as active duty Navy SEALS. Now, they're stateside struggling to figure out where they fit in society.

Novella 1: Thankfully Yours - Leigh Riker
This is Ash's story.
Ash is in Christmas Town to evaluate his father's ski resort - whether they sell it or restore it. It's kind of like himself. He doesn't really feel like a whole man anymore - now that he's missing a leg.
Jill Morgan doesn't want anything to do with the nearby Blue Spruce Mountain Resort. Memories of where her husband died are too raw. Yet, her best friend who works there needs her help. So, when the owner's son shows up talking about restoring the place, why does she feel like reaching out to him? Why can't she simply walk away?

I liked this story of two damaged people coming together to help each other heal. It's got a good message. The story also sets the stage for the next 2 since Simon and Zach both come to town to work for Ash at the resort.

Romance - PG
Language - clean
My rating - 5 stars

Novella 2: Cooking Up Christmas - Tara Randel
This is Simon's story.
Gabi Fortier is a woman on a mission - and that is to do the best job possible and make the reopening of the resort a complete success. Therefore, when Ash's friend, Simon, shows up to run the kitchen, she's beyond frustrated with his determination to derail her decorating plans.
Simon Tucker is a man on a mission - and that is to prove his worth in the culinary world and open his own restaurant. So, when Ash's resort manager keeps trying to interfere with his vision of what the perfect restaurant should look like, he's got to come up with a solution.

This is a fun story of 2 strong personalities learning to work together. Not only do they work out their differences, they also learn to support each other's weaknesses. I liked how Simon realized he'd made a mistake and reached out with an apology.

Romance - PG
Language - clean
My rating - 5 stars

Novella 3: Countdown to Romance - Cari Lynn Webb
This is Zach's story.
Emily Hayes is only in town to show her face and leave. No one ever notices her anyway and that's the way she likes it. Or is it? When Zach actually notices her, she's not sure how to react.
Zach is only in town for as long as he's needed. After all, that's why he only has a PO Box. It's easy to transfer. So, when he sees the same tendencies in Emily, he's determined to help her quit running, but what about himself? Is he finally willing to settle down and stay put?

I enjoyed this story, but felt that the previous 2 were better. The plot didn't feel as solid as it could be.

Romance - PG
Language - clean
My rating - 4 stars.

Book 3: 24 North Pole Lane
This set of 3 centers around the residents of a particular house that's rented out as 3 apartments.

Novella 1: Hers by Thanksgiving - Carol Ross
Allison Talbot is desperate to protect her horse - whatever the cost - especially now that the man who inherited the ranch were she's stabled has changed the locks and tried to fire her from working there anymore. However, she doesn't expect the new owner to be so appealing. It's too bad that he's engaged!

C.J. Larkspur is struggling with every decision. Especially those that involve the ranch he inherited from his uncle. Fortunately, his fiancé is there to help him. But, what's he supposed to do when a woman shows up on the security footage trying to get his attention? Why does he feel such attraction to her? What about his fiancé?

I mostly liked this story. It was fun and engaging. The love and devotion Allison has for her horse is very real. I also believed the budding attraction between C.J. and Allison. The character that didn't work for me is Krista, the fiancé. Unfortunately, If I were to give my reasons, I'd give away spoilers. I'll simply say that she's not awful, I just didn’t relate to her.

Romance - PG
Language - clean
My rating - 4 stars.

That's as far as I was able to get read before the reviews were due. But, if time allows, I'll keep reading the rest because I typically find that I enjoy many, if not most, of the stories.

My overall rating for the set - 4.5 stars

I liked all the stories because they were sweet, clean, and had great endings. I read this book a little at a time bec I had other books that I promised to review. Each time, I was easily able to get back into the next story. Each one had a problem that had to be dealt with, but that's what keeps a book from being boring. I already bought the next one by these authors. I loved these books

*Note, this review is for Once Upon A Thanksgiving, Once Upon A Christmas, and Once Upon A New Year’s Eve, which are three of the 15 novellas in this box set.

I got started on the Christmas Town stories a couple years ago and they have been my favorites of all the holiday books that come out this time of year. I love the idea of different authors connecting their stories by a common family, place, or event. In this case, the authors are connecting their stories through a common place: Christmas Town, Maine.

The novellas I read were about three former college roommates who decide to go into business together in Christmas Town. Lacey, Charlotte, and Gavin are building their design company, Boxes and Boughs, from scratch and are hoping to help clients with their holiday decorating needs. However, they’re not sure that they can generate enough income to keep them afloat throughout the rest of the year, leaving them wondering how permanent this new business venture will be.

Once Upon A Thanksgiving
When Lacey takes on the Hume family as clients, she definitely gets more than she bargained for. Not only has she had to go head-to-head with her clients’ handsome but stubborn grandson multiple times, but Chris and Lily Hume want some of the tackiest decorations known to man to grace their front lawn. Can Lacey honor her clients’ wishes while still keeping Boxes and Boughs’ reputation intact?

Once Upon A Christmas
Charlotte agrees to take two children who are grieving the loss of their mother on as clients, vowing to give them the best Christmas she can. However, that proves to be a little difficult when their well-meaning, but completely out-of-touch-with-reality uncle gets in the way. Can Charlotte give Addison and Wesley the type of Christmas they so desperately need? And can she fight her growing attraction to their nerdy but incredibly cute Uncle Grant?

Once Upon A New Year’s Eve
Gavin is still grieving the death of his best friend and is feeling stifled in Christmas Town. While he and his business partners have had a very successful holiday season with their business, he’s feeling increasingly more restless. It doesn’t help that the beautiful new veterinarian in town makes him uncomfortable with her spot-on observations about his secret intent to pack up and leave. Will this new business venture be enough for him? Or will the excitement of his former life be too strong and pull him back?

I thoroughly enjoyed this set of novellas. I have loved reading about Christmas Town for the last couple years and was so excited to read about more of the characters from that charming little place! I thought this was a great set and I breezed through it in no time. I really enjoyed getting to know each of the different characters and their love interests. The chemistry was sizzling in all three stories, but was kept very clean, which I appreciate. Honestly, you can’t beat the price of this set of 15 novellas! I pre-ordered mine right away! I promise that you’ll love this box set and am willing to bet that you’ll fall in love with the characters of Christmas Town just like I have! I highly recommend this set!

(I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. However, I have also purchased the box set. All of the above opinions are entirely my own.)

Welcome back to Christmas Town. After being introduced to this sweet town in main in A Heartwarming Christmas last year, I have been looking forward to reading more with this year's collection. I have read two of the books in this collection so far and have enjoyed them all.

24 North Pole Lane

Hers by Thanksgiving by Carol Ross

Allison Talbot is having a bad day. She overhears a conversation that she is about to lose her job.
He employer has passed away and the new owner is apparently not going to keep her around. Not only that, but it appears that he is going to sell off the horses she trains, including her pride and joy that she has been in the process of buying back. Unfortunately, there isn’t any paperwork to support this transaction. Cotton “CJ” Larkspur is numb after the passing of his uncle and hasn’t taken and active role in the transitioning of the estate. When he meets Allison, he is immediately drawn to her and counteracts the decision his fiancé has made on his behalf, deciding it is in his best interest as well as the horses to keep Allison on. These two have a plethora of issues to get past, but their hearts prevail. This was a sweet story about love and forgiveness and about realizing that following our hearts is more important than accepting comfort and security.

Peace, Love and Baby Joy by Amy Vastine

Valerie has come back to Christmas Town for Christmas and everyone including her ex-husband Lucas is in for a shock – she is almost nine months pregnant with Lucas’ baby. Valerie asked Lucas for a divorce and left Christmas Town after she could no longer bear the ongoing decades-old feud between her family and Lucas’s that is reminiscent of the Hatfields and McCoys. Still in love with his wife (Lucas’ own secret that he never filed the divorce papers), Lucas is determined to win his wife back and find a way for them to be together, even if it means leaving Christmas town with Valerie. Will their families be able to put aside their petty feud once and for all in order to have their grandchildren and great-grandchild in their life. I really enjoyed this story. It shows how we can let events in our past continue to snowball and how it takes love and forgiveness to be able to create a better future.

Never Say Never on New Year’s by Cheryl Harper

Ren left Christmas Town right out of school to make a name for herself as a designer in London, leaving behind her best friends Amanda and Chris, who fell in love and married each other. After Amanda’s premature death several years ago now, Ren has been maintaining a long-distance friendship with Chris and his daughter Sydney.

When Ren returns to Christmas Town to start over after losing her designing job, she never expects anything to come from her long-time unrequited love for Chris, thinking it would be a betrayal to Amanda’s memory. But, when Chris starts making it clear that he has feelings for her as well, all bets are off. Throw in a bit of New Year’s matchmaking by Sydney and it will definitely be a Happy New Year.

This was a wonderfully written story and probably my favorite in 24 North Pole Lane. I love reading stories where the main characters find love when hitting their 40s.

It’s that time of the year where some of us might need a push to get in the Christmas spirit. What better way than to start reading heartwarming Christmas stories that warm you heart and soul.

Once Upon a Thanksgiving by Anna Adams
There is nothing sweeter than to remember just what the holiday is all about. Ms. Adams brings that into this delightful read. As I get older I can’t think of anything worse than having a Michael in my life. He really thinks he is doing right and is being helpful but he doesn’t listen to their wishes and needs. Giving of one’s time and love is more important than just fixing things etc. If you have a family member who can do both you are in heaven. Lacey spends time with them listening and giving her heart to this sweet older couple. In return she tries to get Michael to understand there is more to loving you must listen giving them a gift that money can’t buy. I really enjoyed this story and its wonderful characters. It really helps put me in the Christmas mood,

Once Upon a Christmas by Anna J. Stewart
One thing that makes Christmas so special is the children. Here the author gives you a wonderful story of two children who lost their mother and go to live with their uncle. He is a very business man writing his book among other things to really know just how and what the children need to help them move on. Charlotte is a wonderful sweet lady. Her heart goes right to the children and their needs in return she does her best to show Grant how to be the loving parent and give the children just what they need. This is one story that will not only touch your heart but your soul.

Once Upon a New Year's Eve by Melinda Curtis
There is nothing worse than being down and have those around you getting into the Christmas spirit. I could really relate to Amelia there were a few years I found myself in her shoes just wanting Christmas over and all the do gooders to go away. My husband would put up the decoration and I would be asking how soon I could take them down. Lol Amelia has had about enough of all the well meaning people trying to help her get in the Christmas spirit she just wants them to all go away. When Gavin’s dog comes up missing it throws him and Amelia together. This is one man that is very into Christmas as he tries to spin his holiday spirit into Amelia as he sends Scrooge out the door to find another person to haunt. This was a very sweet, touching and heartwarming read as Ms. Curtis gives us back the true meaning of Christmas. I really loved this story and its characters. The author really pulls you in with a lovely plot.

Each of these reads are just a total delightful read that give you back Christmas and its meaning. Each give a compelling plot with wonderful characters you can relate to. By the time you finish each one you are wearing a smile just waiting for Christmas to get here. It sure put me in the Christmas spirit.

A Heartwarming Holiday: A 15 Story Collection from Heartwarming Christmas Town (Christmas Town 2016)
15 book collection which I've read the ones below.
..
Thanksgiving Duet Nucracker Sweethearts Novella #1 by Dana Mentink
Praise and about the author are included at the start of the book.

The girl was getting bitten by wasps and he was trying to kill them along with getting stung. She finally realizes that hours later and goes to apologize to only find that they have been invited to dinner at the inn, his relatives run it and he works there.
What I like about the book is we learn he also had a child, Charlie and as the story goes along we find out what happened to him.
Pippa and Viola are only there til just after the holidays then they will head back to NYC in hopes of more work.
He is also musically inclined ....served overseas and moved his grandfather's piano back to Maine from the west coast, great change for him.
Tree falling through the building Pippa was rehearsing the orchestra put that to a stop and Bodie offers his aunts inn as there is plenty of room there.
She doubts her skills for being a mother to Viola and Bodie reassures her she is doing great.
Relatives come to take Viola away but Bodie steps up...

Christmas Curtain Call Nutcracker Sweethearts Novella #2 by Roz Denny Fox
Praise for the author.
Story starts out with Connor and his wife had died and he is contemplating running the local newspapermen.
He has the daughter they have Mistr and she likes to dance in the ballet like her mother who had helped set up a local place.
He is introduced to the ballet instructor Gizelle who's working with Pippa with the music for the big event.
With amount of papers being delivered cut down others voice their opinions. The dancer's salary is up to the paper, which is failing...
Love that they not only sled together but cross country ski together, so precious...
..
Set for New Year's Nutcracker Sweethearts Novella #3 by Annie Denman
This book starts out with Jenny and she helps at the event with costumes. Story also follows Neil and he is also helping at the nutcracker pageant.
She opens up to Kim and I realize how like her I am myself. Dressing dolls in outfits that i had knitted, the most fashionista of the 1960's.
He is a carpenter and loves to work with his hands and realizes she is the same with her designs and clothing.
He finds himself measuring for a new table for her sewing machine and delivers it when she least expects it and is so happy, the best gift she ever received.
Note from the author and her other works are highlighted at the end.

It was fun to come back to Christmas Town for a holiday visit! The “pod” set up of this anthology works for me. I enjoyed reading about each group (in a pod) and sometimes revisit characters from past stories. No worries, this set is completely standalone but it was fun for me to read about some old friends.

In the first pod, Once Upon a Holiday, Anna Adams, Anna J. Stewart and Melinda Curtis created heartwarming stories revolving around three former college roommates. All three get their HEA’s but for me, it was a heartwarming, sometimes heartbreaking, ride. My favorite story was from Anna J. Stewart; her story in this pod will bring about those sniffles and heart-thumpings. Charlotte Powell, one of the roommates, and Dr. (Uncle) Grant Carver (a great nickname!) help two young charges deal with the death of their mother. And the kids and Charlotte help Grant discover the joy of living again. Each of the roommates has a great story and you won’t be sorry.

In the second pod, three former Navy SEALs get their stories and HEA’s. The first story has Jill still trying to come to terms with the death of her beloved husband. It has ties to the ski resort (that plays a ceter role in this pod) and Ash, our first SEAL. I have a soft spot for returning vets and this story will get to you as much as it did me. The second novella is a hoot and showcases two very headstrong individuals who somehow manage to get together. And the third? Both of the main characters have to work thru deeply personal issues but they eventually get there!

In the third pod, the stories are all about the folks who live at 24 North Pole Lane. For the characters in these stories, they will need kindness and understanding to be able to get their HEA’s.

In the fourth pod, there’s a bit of magic happening! I loved all the gypsy influences in these stories and the undercurrent of magic – you have to truly believe!

In the fifth pod, the stories revolve around the town production of the Nutcracker. Starting at Thanksgiving with a little girl named Viola…you are going to be pulled into the stories as I was and they will leave you sniffling and smiling. The second story happens at Christmas and the last, ends at New Year’s.

All in all, this was a great holiday box set and is a perfect example of heartwarming from all these authors.

I was able to read a set of 3 of these stories and really enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit! Going back to Christmas Town, Maine makes me want to live there. I wish such a place existed!

*Once Upon a Thanksgiving by Anna Adams
This story brings out the Christmas spirit by helping us remember what is really important during the holidays. Michael thinks he is doing all the right things for his grandparents - for their physical well-being - but he doesn't really listen to them as to what they REALLY want. He just keeps making decisions for them and not really taking their wishes into consideration. Lacey, on the other hand, listens to them and tries to get Michael to understand that his grandparents want to stay in Christmas Town. I enjoyed the dynamics of all the people in the story and remembering the holidays bring out the best in people when it comes down to it!
*Once Upon a Christmas by Anna J. Stewart
I absolutely loved this story --- probably because it involved two children who lost their mother and were in the custody of their Uncle Grant who was a scientist & very absorbed in writing a book so didn't know how to help them through their grief. Enter Charlotte, who has so much love and compassion for children....she shows Grant how to celebrate Christmas again and deal with the children's grief....and his own! The characters were wonderful and the story so touching. I had great emotion as I read this story. It definitely touches your heart and soul!
*Once Upon a New Year's Eve by Melinda Curtis
Amelia, known as Dr. Scrooge around town, just wants to get through the holidays and continue getting her veterinary practice up to speed. She's had about enough with all the well-meaning people in town trying to decorate her "space" for the holidays! Gavin "loses" a huge dog that ends up "finding" Amelia and brings the two of them together! Gavin is all about decorating for Christmas and he slowly tries to draw Amelia out of her "Scrooge" personality! A fun story and it also touched me. We can all bring joy and happiness to others during the holiday season!

A visit to Christmas Town, Maine is the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit. These three stories involve the partners in Boxes and Boughs who have come to love this small town and call it home.

Anna Adams starts thing off with Once Upon A Thanksgiving. Michael Hume is sent by his family to bring back his grandparents. They left their assisted living residence to go to Maine for Thanksgiving in the hope that their children and grandchildren would follow. No such luck. Michael wants them safe. Lacey Dickens shows him what really matters. Thank goodness he realizes that family and love give life real meaning. I loved the characters, the romance and joy of belonging.

Once Upon A Christmas by Anna J Stewart shows the joy of giving is its own reward. Charlotte Powell helps make Christmas special for two children who have lost their mother and finds a wonderful man to love. The children live with their Uncle Grant who has no idea how to care for them. When Charlotte comes in, he's grateful and ashamed. She shows him what family is and helps him connect with the children. Attraction and love bloom. Is their a HEA in their future? This is a feel good story that touched my heart. What a wonderful tribute to the holiday season. I cared about the children and their bumbling Uncle and I loved Charlotte for her loving heart.

Melinda Curtis in Once Upon a New Year's Eve introduces us to Amelia Lawson aka Dr. Scrooge. She wants nothing to do with the holidays. Her mother's over the top obsession with all things Christmas took care of that. How ironic that she would move to Christmas Town. When she meets Gavin Elliot from Boxes and Boughs she likes him and his doggie friend, Snowflake. The dog plays matchmaker and is successful until Gavin feels his work isn't challenging and plans to leave Christmas Town. I loved the magic and Snowflake's determined interference. This romance is the perfect combination of heartbreak and humor. What a romantic story!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book.

This is such a cute collection. I had already pre-ordered in on Amazon, but then was also given an ARC for three of the stories. I hope they are a sign of things to come.

I read Once Upon a Holiday, which are three novellas at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Eve, by Anna Adams, Anna J. Stewart, and Melinda Curtis. All three were heartwarming (just like the title says) happiness tied up in a bow. Three college roommates start a company together. Each of the novellas is one of their stories. Lacey is featured in Once Upon A Thanksgiving. She has been asked to decorate the house of Micheal's grandparents. Micheal has come to convince the grandparents they can't be on their own any more. Clashing occurs between Micheal and Lacey. It's a great introduction to the town, some of it's residence and the co-owners of Boxes and Boughs.

Once Upon A Christmas features Charlotte who has been hired by two recently orphaned children. Unbeknownst to their Uncle Grant, they are trying to create the Christmas spirit that their mom would want them to have. Uncle Grant is the classic absent minded professor. He is sweet and good, but a bit clueless. With the help of Charlotte, Grant starts figuring out who and what he needs to be.

Once upon a New Year's Eve is my favorite of the three. Honestly Melinda Curtis has a way with spunky banter and funny one liners. Gavin is the business partner featured in this book. He keeps having run ins with the town vet (who has affectionately - or not so affectionately been named Dr. Scrooge) because he is dog sitting a fun loving, sweet talking Saint Bernard named Snowflake. Between the hysterical names that Gavin gives to the dog and the dog talking to the people around him (stay with me here - it's cute and he's not really talking), this turned out to be my favorite story of the three.

I'm excited to read the rest of the novellas in this collection.

The Spirit of Christmas is very much alive and working in Christmas Town, Maine. These three stories have some of the same characters, although each story has one primary girl and guy.

Christmas Past by Tara Taylor Quinn – Magic Moments Novella #1

Three-year-old Camille Posey is missing—she just disappeared from Posey’s Diner with no one noticing. At the same time, Bella Potter is having “feelings” that could be about a child, but she knows it’s just her imagination—or is it? Her mother, Edith Potter, is supposed to be a psychic. Bella tries to ignore her feelings until she decides she needs to call Sheriff Chad Andrews about it. He becomes her shadow for three days trying to understand what Bella’s feelings mean. Can they find Camille before something very serious happens to her? As terrible as the time waiting is, Bella and Chad come to understand this “gift” that Bella has.

It Only Happens in Christmas Town by Shirley Hailstock – Magic Moments Novella #2

Whitney Emerson and Trenton “Trent” Knowles each receive a note from Edith Potter. Of course, they are in two different parts of the country and don’t know each other. However, the notes contain latitudes and longitudes to an unknown place. Each of them follows the directions and ends up in Christmas Town. Whitney wants nothing to do with Christmas because her fiancé Mike was killed at Christmastime. However, the magic of this Christmas season will help them find their true love.

The Magic Stocking by Liz Flaherty – Magic Moments Novella #3

Eleanor “Ellie” Madison Griffith and Patrick “Pat” Nolan are the main characters in this wonderful Christmas story. Pat comes from a family of fisherman, but he gets seasick before even getting on a boat, so he owns a Christmas tree farm. Needless to say, he’s a disappointment to his family. Ellie has her own problems, but with the magic of Christmas Town, they find their happily-ever-after ending.

I received a complimentary copy of these stories for my honest opinion, which I have given. I would recommend this collection to everyone.
