Photographer Russ Heinl and thirty contributing photographers provide a superb collection of aerial photographs that displays Canada from a unique perspective. In OVER CANADA familiar icons of the Canadian landscape are depicted in unusual ways, creating unfamiliar images that can only be seen from the air. Every region of the country is explored, from the stark beauty of the North, to the striking patterns of muskeg and river delta, to the vibrant colors of sandstone cliffs and alpine lakes. This book truly captures the essence of the Canadian landscape.
Over Canada contained stunning aerial photographs of the natural beauty of Canada, focusing on the 70% of Canada that is wilderness. The urban centres of Canada are shown in a few pictures as sterile offerings, more suitable for postcards. The written narrative describing the different areas of Canada and the landscape is pedestrian and does not capture the readers' attention. This is a coffee-table book that people will flip through a few pages at a time to admire the photos, but will appear to be unfulfilling for the readers expecting all areas of Canada to be represented.
