ANGEL

I'm a disappointment--to my family.
They wanted me to follow in their footsteps,
A career in medicine, curing the sick.
But, I took my own path, a hard and competitive path,
Where my passion lies.
Graceful, elegant, poised,
Ballet is my life, my dream,
My everything.

But when I meet him,
Plié, Passé, and Relevé
Are quickly shadowed by the man
Who intercepts my heart.
Suddenly, I'm thinking about touchdowns,
and scoring.
There's so much more to River Kelley
Than all his fans realize.
He's strong, but sensitive.
Powerful, but delicate.
Determined, but giving.

Now, I'm questioning everything.
My dreams.
My future.
My heart.

RIVER

She may be a saint,
But she's no angel in bed,
And it feels like she's been sent from Heaven.
She's the answer to my every prayer,
The woman who could dance into my fantasies,
And make all of my dreams come true.

But when my family jeopardizes our future,
I have to let her go,
Let her achieve her goals.
Let her fly,
Like the angel she is.

If only, I could find a way to have both...

The writing was robotic, and the book lacked depth. I've been reading some pretty intense stuff lately. The bar has been raised. And this book is phoning it in.

Premise - football player is forced to take ballet. (There's no explanation for this). Falls instantly for standoffish dance teacher who only has room in her heart for dance. (Bc humans have only one dimension).

I'm looking for something light bc one of my current reads is killing me. But I need at least a little more than this.

This story has two wonderful MC-River and Angel. River Kelly, quarterback for the San Francisco & Angel Williams. is a ballerina that’s about to make her big debut in the ballot world. Angel’s family sees her as the black sheep, the bad seed because of her career choice. Her family is all in the medical field bur Angel doesn’t care, she lives , breaths and sleeps for her choice- dancing/being a Ballerina.
Then you have River, he lives for football. He is an uncle and he loves his family and the women and his family loves him. In the past, he was hurt by a gold digger so now he keeps his heart protected so now he is a bit jaded. Then he sees Angel and he knows he has to possess her, be with her, and have her. The connection between these two is immediate and sparks fly. Their romance went thru twists and turns, ups and down and the ending was beautiful. I do wish it wasn’t as rushed feeling but overall it was a great story and I hope to read more like this by this author.

My rating: 4.5 stars ****

This was actually a pretty sweet story, that I did not expect!

It was not the typical playboy sportsman and that's what I enjoyed the most. It had this super cute story about love at first sight, and I mean who doesn't love that?

It was a refreshing story, that did have a lot of loose ends, but I did not let that get to me.

Great story
River is a football player, but he isn't like others he is respectful and a family man. The family is important to him since he comes from a big family. When his coach sends the team to take ballet they are all doubtful until he sets eye on the beautiful teacher, Angel. Angel is practicing to get on San Fransico team all work and no play. Her friend tells her she needs to let loose so she says if River asks her out she will not turn him down. So that is how their relationship starts, soon after she sees that dance isn't her number one thing and she is happy to have river. River is dealing with family issues like his brother leaving his family, but Angel is there for river through the tough times. Angel never got approval from her parents so river always encouraging her and telling her she is great was all she ever wanted.
River was great I liked that he was always nice and a gentlemen, he was the perfect hero; Protective and sweet. Angel was an amazing dancer who learned to have fun while still being able to dance.

*spoiler, she does end up getting pregnant and I thought she would hate it and a big fight would happen since she always puts dance before and she was just make it but she was actually happy*

Angel is a ballerina that’s about to make her big debut in the ballot world. In her family she is considered the black sheep. You see her family are all in the medical field. They view what she does not a real profession she is set out in proving them all wrong. Her whole life is about dance, She live, eats, and breathe it.

River plays for the San Fransisco Sparks. he is the youngest out of the Kelly clan. He loves kids and is a great-uncle. He is the ultimate catch for any woman. He is a total hunk with body of a model and face that can make any woman do anything. He is a little jaded from his past with gold diggers so he is always on watch never lets his guard down.

This book seems to take place in the same word as Fair Game. Can’t wait to see what Emerson Rose has cooking up this time around. Her writing keep getting better with each book she puts out . What I love most is that her books are unique plot wise and they feel relatable. Looks like their will also be a third book called Fair Play due to come out on August 2016.

Nice

I wish the author would go a bit more into the HEA... a bit lacking somehow, could be much more enjoyable. That said, this book was good; minimal angst, smexing and HEA . Nice read.

Utopia love

I just adore how Emerson Rose descript Angel with so much femininity in her writing and how protective, romantic, River is towards her. I believe this is my 2nd or 3rd favourite story of all time. Great script, great characters, great storyline, great plot, great emotive literature, great descriptive text, great written voice of the author, great fluidity of transitory movement between each line of chapters. A simple example of how a true romance between to two characters with no hidden agenda or broken personality should flow so neatly connected together. This piece of fictional creative writing had been written about with no complicated twist or drama; just simply sat there, and emanated my imagination with so much adulation, glee and hope for that kind of reality for myself. Ahhh.

Fair Catch by Emerson Rose is a standalone novel with a HEA ending. The storyline was solid and well thought out. The twists and turns were spot on and perfectly written. The characters had depth, emotion and lots of smokin hot chemistry.

River is a football player for the San Francisco Sparks! We meet him in the coach's office where he's telling him and the rest of them team they need to take ballet lessons, so they'll be more graceful on the pitch! Him and his team mates are not happy!
Angel is a ballet dancer, who is an exceptionally good dancer but doesn't realise how good she is. She's then told that she has to teach ballet to a bunch of rowdy football players.
When River walks in she can't help but admire his beautiful eyes! She has stayed away from all distractions for 3 years but River is going to challenge that. She doesn't take any of their crap or the crude innuendos that the team dishes out!
At the end of class they introduce themselves and you can see the sparks flying off them.
The next day River can't stop thinking about Angel. He has loads of fantasies about her and he can't forget all the little things about her! We find that River is from a big family and he loves them very much! Apart from his one brother, whole is a douche bag! He's very family oriented and wants a big family of his own one day.
Angel's family is less supportive. All her family has a medical background and they hope Angel will go into the medical profession too! They don't think dancing is a good career and she shouldn't waste her life in doing it!
Angels best friend , Cat, convinces her that if River asks for a date, she should do it! The next dance lesson River does ask her for a date! But she is in conflict with herself and wants to cancel the date but had no way of contacting River, which he done purposely because he had a feeling she might do that!
They go on their date to his sister's restaurant and they have a blast and Angel starts to relax. They have amazing chemistry together! They end up staying at his sister's house and have an amazing night together.
Things start heating up really fast. They spend all their time together and the develop deep feelings quite quick for each other! River encourages Angels in the best possible way and she realises a few things about herself along the way! I love how supportive and sweet River is, how tentative to her needs he is and her to him too! I think they are the perfect couple. River wears his emotions on his sleeve and he doesn't care who sees in his family.
I loved every thing about this book! It was hot all the way through! I wanted more but that's just me being greedy, as usual! I have loved this series so far and I can't wait for the next book. I loved the epilogue in this book. It was all that I needed to finish on a brilliant high!
The excerpt for the next book is so tantalising and I'm loving Nick, Scarlet and Tea! Can't wait to see what is in store for them 3!

Emerson Rose has done it again....Fair Catch....Wow just wow!!

We meet River Kelly, quarterback for the San Francisco Sparks.
He's all things delicious, single and a star player for his team. From a big family, they mean everything to him and he's hugely family orientated, hoping one day he'll have one of his own one day. He's never had a girlfriend, because frankly they have only ever been after one thing....His money.
River hates gold diggers so his lack of trust in women has left him single with just a hook up here and there.
But that is until he sees her.
She's stunning, beautiful and all woman.
At first site all River thinks is 'she's an angel'.
And that she is.

Her name.....Angel Williams.
She's young, beautiful, dedicated and driven. All Angel has ever wanted to do is a be prima ballerina for the San Francisco Dance Company. Angel eats, sleeps and practices. It's her mission to prove to her family that she can be a professional dancer. They have never approved of her choices so she plans on proving them wrong. But with that comes no social life, no partying and no men. They are all too much of a distraction to her.
But that is until she meets him.
He will be her game changer.

Welcome to River and Angel's world.

Guys Fair Catch was an absolute delight to read. I loved every minute of it. It was lighthearted, witty and sinfully delicious.
But it was also raw and confronting.
It was such a beautifully executed read that it held me hostage from beginning to end.
I fell in love with both River and Angel and their story. Simply breathtaking.

5 stars.

Angel has one thing and only one thing on her mind 24/7 and that is ballet dancing, when she isnt practicing then she is teaching her classes. While her family are all Doctors and wanted her to become one as well she followed her dreams, and ever since has been trying her hardest to do her best to make them proud of her. River is a football player and one day when they are told they were to take ballet lessons he couldnt believe what he was hearing, but that was the day that River and Angel would meet and things for the both of them would change forever.

What I enjoyed most about Fair Catch is watching two people who dont really do the relationship thing, try and take it day by day to see where it would go, they didnt plan on falling for each other so soon. Watching Angel grow within her self to see that other things or people could be important to her just like Ballet has always been, River who is all about family just waiting for the right woman to come into his life, yes things would be busy with a Ballet Dancer and Football players schedules but they made it work.

This story is amazing, never a dull moment. This story is about a Football player who doesnt do relationships because of the gold diggers out there, a dancer who puts all focus on ballet and never has any fun but for once she gives in to one date, plenty of steamy moments between the two, added with some family drama from both their families, but where dreams come true for both of them, A love Story with a happy ending. If you like stories like this, then Fair Catch is a must!!

I was first introduced to Emerson Rose thanks to her book Fair Game. While I enjoyed the book, I must say that Fair Catch is my favorite so far. Fair Catch is the story of River and Angel. River plays football for the San Diego Sparks’. He is a hot alpha male with a big heart who loves his family and is not afraid to be himself. His team is sent to take ballet lessons to help with their on the field performance in the upcoming season.

Angel is a beautiful ballet dancer who decided that she did not want to follow the same career choices of her family. She is determined, hard-working, and willing to sacrifice almost everything for her dream. She has no time for anything that is not related to ballet dancing or her upcoming audition. Well that is until she is assigned to teach ballet lessons to some members of the San Diego Sparks and she lays eyes on River. And OMG his EYES…. There is an instant connection and sparks fly.

I absolutely love both River and Angel. They are perfect for each other. I love what River was able and willing to do for Angel. And I love that Angel was able to follow her heart even when she was unsure of the outcome and trust River. Most of River’s family were great, fun, and loving people. I would not mind reading more about them. And Cat, she definitely needs her own story.

While this story focuses on a football player and ballet dancer, you don’t have to be a fan of either to enjoy this story. This is truly a love story and you don’t want to miss it.

Let me start this review by saying I am an Emerson Rose fan, I love her writing style and her imagination – her stories ALWAYS keep me entertained. With that being said, I am a little confused by this story being labeled a football romance – yet we didn’t read anything about football. So if you are looking for a football story with actual game play this may not be the book for you. I was expecting football play, so this bummed me out a bit, which is why I felt this was worth mentioning. If you are looking for a romance with the mention of football – this is the book for you. This really was a great story – had some twists I didn’t see coming. It is worth the read.

River is a big name football quarterback – he isn’t the typical single player guy. He is humble. He is sweet. He is overall just a great guy. His coach forces the team to take ballet lessons to make them more graceful on the field. Angel is a ballerina trying to make a name for herself, she also happens to be the ballet teacher for the team. The sparks fly the moment see each other, literally. Angel doesn’t have the support of her family in her dancing career so she is hard on herself - harder than most – she wants to prove to her family she can be successful. With River on her side – the impossible seems possible.

This was a sweet romance – light hearted with a little bit of drama.

4 Stars from me.

I loved this book! It's the story of a football player named River who has take ballet lessons per his coach's request along with his team mates. Enter in Angel a ballerina whose dream is be a prima ballerina for the San Francisco Ballet Co. Angel is assigned to teach these football players some ballet to help them with their game. Once Angel and River lock eyes, there is no denying the deep attraction between the two. Angel is only focused on one thing and that is ballet. She has dreams and goals to make come true. She has no time to fall in love much less date. River, on the other hand is a very sexy go with the flow kind of guy. He pursues Angel until she caves and agrees to go out with him. Their chemistry is remarkable. The connection is undeniable. River helps ground Angel. As these two fall in love other issues arise. Will Angel be able balance a relationship while pursuing her dreams as a ballet dancer? Will love be enough to keep these two together while having separate careers that make them travel? I think destiny brought these two together for a reason. This was a sweet, touching, sexy and intriguing story about two people who were meant to be together. The story was beautiful and the characters were wonderful. If you love a good sports romance with a HEA, then this is the book for you. I can't wait to read more from this author.

I really enjoyed reading Fair Catch. I was really worried about it being a sports romance. I am not interested in sports at all. Funny I read one of my bloggers reviews and she said in her review that she was really expecting more football to be mentioned. She really wanted some “football play” and I have to tell you I was so happy to not see any football play. So it really depends on what you are wanting in your romance book or a sports romance.

The lead character River is a football player and the leading female Angel, is a ballerina. I really loved the banter & playfulness between them. “Football boy” and “Pretty Dancer” are names that they call each other. Oh and, the sex is hot too!

I did feel their story was rushed especially at the end of the book. I still really enjoyed reading their story. Fair Catch is a stand-alone, full-length romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger***

I received a complimentary copy for an honest review but, I also bought this book because I do love this author! I give Fair Catch 4 stars.

On their first date they wind up spending the night together, and River is sure he has found the one. Fair Catch is the story of River, the football star who meets Angel when his coach makes the team take ballet lessons to help their game. Angel is an aspiring ballerina against her family's wishes. These two characters have instant chemistry, but can Angel allow herself to feel that spark? She has always been so focused on her dance that she has forgotten how to have fun...how to live. Will River be able to teach the teacher a few moves?

I am a huge Emerson Rose fan. She has an amazing writing style, and she makes you feel like you actually know the characters personally. Even though I felt that Fair Catch was a bit rushed and predictable at times, I still enjoyed the storyline. As a huge football fan, I would have loved some actual football in the story instead of just the character being a player.

I give Fair Catch 3.5 stars.

This is a great romance! I loved these characters! I am so happy that River, the hero in this book, is thoughtful, sincere, and sure of what he wants and NOT a cocky a-hole like in so many of these sport romances. It's a refreshing change of pace. Same for Angel. She's confident and secure in herself and wise enough to know a great guy like River doesn't come along every day. She isn't one of those run of the mill heroines that keeps sleeping with the hero then telling him they can't be together because it doesn't fit in her plans, or she doesn't trust him, or blah blah blah, all the way through the book. River and Angel have a lot of chemistry and the intimate scenes are really sexy. This book is a real falling in love story, with interesting supporting characters (River's family) who have stories of their own that I would like to hear. I loved this book. My rating is 4.5 stars.

I love Fair Catch. It's kind of sweet, and hot. Angel is a ballerina so focused on her career that she has zero life outside of it. She's tasked by her mentor to teach a dance class to the San Francisco Sparks football team. She meets River Kelly during the class, and for the first time in a long time, she notices someone who isn't involved with her career. How could she not notice him? He's got beautiful eyes that he's famous for, and he has a hard body that is demanded by his football career. River is so dead set on having Angel that she has no chance at all in resisting him. Especially when he's so sweet and supportive of her career, which is something she's never experienced before, as her family could care less about her because she didn't go along with their expectations of her when she became a ballerina.

There are obstacles, though, one being their crazy busy schedules, and two, River's problems with his loser brother. Will they get their HEA? Read and find out!

Angel is a determined dancer. She is dancing against her family's desire for her to work in medical field like everyone else in her family. But she loves dancing and wants to prove she can make a successful life doing it. She gives up everything, including a life, to do it. In walks River who's football team needs to learn some grace. He is instantly attracted to Angel and will stop at nothing to be with her. With River by her side encouraging her to live her dream, they find a common ground to do what they both love and still have love together. River helps her to learn that there are people that will support her since her family doesn't.

Great story!! Would read over and over!

I'm coming to love when a Emerson Rose book pops up on my kindle.
The writing is always so smooth and fluid that you have no trouble losing yourself in there.

River comes from a big family, like myself.
He seems like a really down to earth character, got his head fixed on his shoulders.
River doesn't really have his eye on anyone at the time but when he gets told he and his team are doing ballet classes, he doesn't think nothing of it.
Then he meets Angel.

Angel was pretty quiet, seems shy.
She has a small accident a while ago but she's getting back into the swing of dancing.
But when she gets told she needs to teach a class full of football players she's less than thrilled but then she meets River.

I really enjoyed this book and i can't wait for more!

Can’t is Just a Word People Use When They’re Too Scared!
River was simply irresistible! He's so different from other guys you read about. He's not an arrogant jerk. He wants kids and a family. He wants that one lady to bring home to his mom. He was just THE perfect guy. I think I've found my favorite book bf from Emerson Rose. Her stories are always one to evoke emotion. I found myself laughing and smiling. Fair Catch was such a smooth and fast paced read. One minute, I was on page one and before I knew it, I was reading the words, The End. You get totally lost in the world of River and Angel and you never want to leave. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Angel, an extremely dedicated dancer, has no time for anything but dancing. River, a quarterback, has given up on dating due to excessive gold diggers. The two meet when River, along with his football team, the San Francisco Sparks, are ordered by their coach to take ballet lessons. Their instructor is Angel, who is training to audition with the San Francisco Dance Company. I truly enjoyed watching Angel and River slowly begin to break each other's
walls down and start a beautiful relationship. I loved that I felt like I was there with them through their relationship. I just simply loved this book!!!

Excellent contemporary football/ballet romance. River comes from a large family and is a professional football player. The teams coach decides the team needs ballet lessons to help them move on the field. Angel has been working for twenty years to be a top notch ballerina. Her boss has her teaching the football team. This is how they meet. The attraction is instant but Angel hasn't even dated for several years because dancing is her life. That is until she meets River. I enjoyed this book. I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems solely in exchange for an honest opinion. I look forward to reading more books by Ms Rose in the future.

I just don't understand. Maybe I am bored with Sports ebooks right now and need a change. This is the third sports book (by different authors) that missed the mark for me. The synopsis gave off potential and had me reading immediately. The first 20% was good but not great... then the next 10% was about the same thing, maybe a little different monologue, now that she accepted the date.... At 44%, there were 5 pages of inner monologue on what she has to do for the day. and still nothing to exciting has happened.. Haven't really met many more people then the ones we met at the beginning.

Disappointed - turned the kindle off.

Fair catch

This story of a dancer and a football player makes for one steamy and very romantic read.
Angel has always dreamed of becoming a professional dancer. While teaching a class to football players, she meets River and they automatically fall into the perfect relationship. Their story is one of love, dreams, and family issues. A mishap by River's brother causes Angel and River to get everything in life they want plus a while lot more.

This book was fantastic. Excellent wording and a storyline that will leave you breathless.
Hats off to a very creative and lovely author ❤️❤️
