The subject of the novel had raised expectations. No doubt the author has taken lots of efforts - visiting the place, meeting people, listening to their real life stories, rather pains and compiling all and trying to present as a meaningful sequence of events is a big task. Actually, wonder if it should be called a novel; it rather is a narrative account of real event, the darkest one in the history of human beings and the sufferings of the victims. Hence, the book should have been more gripping. Unfortunately, the book lacks this quality. Some details seem unnecessary and do not add anything to the plot. The book could have been more tightly woven and concise.
