Nely Cab is a Writer of stuff, a Master Coffee Drinker, a Food Maker & Eater, and an Imaginary World Conqueror. She talks to herself—a lot—in her South Texas home while she plots stories about fantasy worlds and sips coffee from a pitcher. She’s known for cooking far too much food and has a tendency to overdo…well, everything. It is rumored that she's fabulous. Nely Cab is the best-selling author of the Creatura series.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. "Creatura" is one of my all time favorites. I read the first book when I was thirteen and barely knew anything about Greek mythology. I had just moved to Greece from Romania and I was struggling to learn the language and adapt in this new country. Everything was pretty tough, but suddenly, there was this book full of romance and fantasy and adventure that made me feel infinitely better. For me, "Creatura" was a turning point in my life as a reader. It gave me a new perspective, it made me love books even more and it helped me through a rough time. For that, this series will forever have a special place in my heart. I fought for "Creatura" to be published in Romania. I reread the book at least three times. I waited for the sequel. I read and loved the 2nd book, "Fruit of misfortune". And then I proofread the final book and even though I was incredibly honored to be able to go on a journey towards the end of the series along with the author, there was this sadness that followed me until the end of the book. One of my favorite series was coming to an end and that is always a tragic moment for me. I was so in love with this series, with Isis, David, Eros and every character, that the thought of not reading any more of their adventures was sometimes too much. But enough of that. Let's celebrate this amazing closing to a marvelous series. "Marker of Hope" is hands down one of the best and most captivanting books I've ever read. I don't think there could've been a better way to end this series, to be quite honest. Nely Cab definitely put her heart and soul into this book, and the result is a story that not only captivates you, but it fascinates you and it makes you forget about the real world around you. After two amazing books, "Creatura" and "Fruit of Misfortune", the story of the characters we love comes to an epic end. I adored "Creatura" and definitely loved the 2nd book, but "Marker of Hope" is something else. Nely took it to another level with this book. Even though she put a lot of hard work into this book, her talent shines like never before in "Marker of Hope". I truly feel that this is her best work, even though "Creatura" will always be my favorite book in the series, but that has more of a sentimental value for me. "Marker of hope" though is pure talent, dedication and hard work. And the result is amazing. There is an obvious development in Nely writing skills. The text flows effortlessly. Sometimes it feels like her words literally run through your veins. The voices she uses are way more real, and the character development is a strong point of this book. David, Isis, Eros, any character you can think of, they are all much more mature and their voices match their age, the situations they've been through and the burdens that they carry. Isis is trying to save everyone, David is trying to save Isis, Eros would do anything to have Isis, Galilea is protecting Isis in her own, unique way. But the enemy doesn't stay away, and they keep attacking our beloved characters. Brave as they are, they always fight for the ones they love. Throughout the book, secrets are revealed, alliances are being made, fights are being fought and love is present everywhere, even in the hardest situations. This series has thought me that true love can in fact be lethal, but it will always survive and win. But, above all, "Marker of hope" taught me that being brave is a virtue and a way to save yourself. Facing your demons is essential to your survival, but also caring for the ones close to you. There are so many plot twists and things that absolutely blew my mind in this book that sometimes, it was hard to keep up with them. Whenever I was thinking that this is it, the situation will calm down now, Nely surprised me with a new bomb. The fact that I could never guess what would happen next is definitely something that made me love the book even more. The fights between Isis & co. and their enemies were also very captivating for me and I followed them with my heart in my throat, turning the pages as fast as I could. The plot is very well thought and the dynamic of the action is just right. Not too slow, not too rushed. Just right. The suspense builds up towards the end and you can feel their sorrow, all the despair and the hope of the characters as they fight for their lives. One specific plot twist left me shocked and heartbroken. But the ending, overall, mended my broken heart, made me shed a few tears and left me wanting for more of Nely's words. Overall, "Marker of Hope" is an excellent closing to a fantastic series. It answers all your questions and then some more. The plot twists captivate you, Nely's words absolutely enchant you, David will make you fall in love with him again and you will live every page of this book along with the characters, feeling their emotions and cheering for them. Even though I will forever miss this series, I am excited for everyone to read this third book. Yes, I do recommend "Marker of Hope" and the "Creatura" series. It's a must-read! Rate: 5 stars out of 5
Marker of Hope is the final book in the Creatura series and Nely did an amazing job. This book was my favorite out of the three; I laughed (a lot and loudly), I cried, I was worried for the characters I love, terrified for how the book would end but mostly I loved it.
Isis has grown a lot in this one, she remembers her past mistakes and tries to do better. She also has to deal with a lot of stuff and for someone who wasn't as strong as Isis is would have drowned in their emotions if they were in her position. She also had to improve herself vastly both mentally and physical because something is coming for Isis and she has to be the one to face it or there will be dire consequences.
I want to say so much more but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. The book synopsis is very vague when it comes to the story and I think that was an excellent job. I had no idea what I would be facing in this book and a lot of things came as a complete surprise to me and I would want that for others as well.
Marker of Hope had so much more than that the first two books. There was action, romance, mythology, surprises, love, betrayal, deals, attacks, heartbreak and so much more. I will admit that I wished it ended a little differently although I can see why it ended the way it did. I love the Creatura book series and I am sad to see it go. Nely I have one word for you ..... spinoff.
I actually read this book when it first came out... but I never wrote my review for some crazy reason. Which meant I had to reread it entirely. Okay, I didn't actually have to read it again, but I wanted to - and I do what I want
Anyway, I love Nely Cab's writing. She's just... fantastic. There's feels and there's hilarity. Very important things for me. And I loved it the second go-round.
I read this conclusion in one day. I enjoyed the ending of this series. So much happened that I truly enjoyed. I love that we experience true loss in this novel. So well done. I recommend the series!

This is book 3 and the final book in this series - you must read the previous 2 books to be able to understand what is going on in this book. The other disclaimer that I MUST add is that you should read this with tissues nearby and with plenty of time on your hands because you won't be able to put it down nor will you be able to function after all of the ugly crying, yelling and cursing of the author.
With that all out of the way - this book was one of my all time favorite books this year!!! I can't believe all of the twists, turns, conniving, plot twists that the author threw at us...she will evoke every emotion that the reader has in them with this one!! You will laugh, cry, ugly cry, snot all over, yell, scream and perhaps at times threaten her with bodily harm (sorry Nely). This book gives the reader an amazing sense of closure while at the same time making the reader mad that the book series has ended - there SHOULD be more!!!
Isis and David are still trying to figure out their lives when Eros, the Turpis and an army all interrupt to make their lives even more exasperating! They find out some interesting news, battle through various fights and still try to live their lives together, as a "normal" young couple in love. Will they be able to remain together?!? Will their love be enough?!?! Will Eros save the day?!?! All these questions and more will be answered as you read this story!
The plot is unique, you can feel the author's love for writing, mythology, and the characters jump through the pages at you, and most of all you feel like you are a part of their story. The author does an amazing job with keeping the reader on the edge of their seat trying to predict what will happen next, while at the same time trying to see the pages through their blurry tear filled eyes. If you haven't read this series yet, you MUST!! It is an amazing series that can't be missed!!! Go one - click Creatura (It's free!) and get started today on this phenomenal series by and even more phenomenal author!!! Sit back, cry, and enjoy!!!

WOW...What can I say....I am speechless and that doesn't happen very often either. My emotions are on a roller coaster ride right now. I have followed this author since she first published Creatura and I have had the honor of seeing every adventure unfold since the beginning and this author has once again surprised and shocked me in this story. To actually know that this is the end of the adventure for David and Isis makes me sad, but I am happy at how the ending turned out.
The characters are still just as awesome as they have been in the past. Isis has really grown in this story a lot since we met her in Creatura. She is a remarkable character that has an awesome heart for family and friends. Her powers are really awesome too. The love between Isis and David is so incredible, and yet just grows even stronger than before.
The story-line of the book was AMAZING with every shocking twist and turn of each page. I laughed, smiled, and cried throughout this entire story. I was totally entranced by the words coming off the pages that it made it very hard to put down. I even had dreams while sleeping about the story, though I must admit, my dreams outcomes never matched up with the book. There were always new revelations that were brought forth that I was never expecting in every shocking scene that I read. I have literally fallen in love with this last book during every moment that I spent reading it. This author has taken us on a fantastic journey that I will never forget and I will continue finding myself wanting to go back and re-read and never get tired of it.
I also believe that this would make for an awesome movie and I would fan girl for joy if the time came that it was on the big screen. I give this book not only my five book review but a standing ovation and a huge BRAVO to the author for creating such an awesome world that will be remembered for generations to come. I highly recommend this book and I know in my heart that you love it as much, if not more, than I have. Thank you, Ms. Cab, for the adventure, it was for sure a phenomenal ride.
FIVE TOTALLY HUNGOVER PLATYPIRES FOR MARKER OF HOPE
OMG!!!!!!! Y'all! I've waited FOREVER for this book. I've nagged. I've started hashtags. Okay, I can't actually claim credit for starting #WhereIsBookThree, but I most definitely perpetuated it. So, I perpetuated hashtags. I've been CRAVING this book.
And OH. MY. BLEEP. Y'all, Nely Cab may have made us wait 4050683930202 billion (ish) years for Marker of Hope, but she made the wait worth it. It's so bleeping worth it. It's fast paced, it's glorious, it's drama at every turn. I seriously couldn't put this thing down, and devoured it the instant it downloaded. Literally, I couldn't put it down. On a related note, I don't recommend trying to walk two dogs at once while reading. It's a kindle hazard. Long story short, both dogs came running back when called, the kindle was kept safe, I didn't lose my spot, my skinned knee is healing fine, and nobody I know saw.
Seriously, you need this series. This ending is everything. I've devoted so much of my life to waiting for this book, that now I'm not entirely sure where to go from here, now that the series is over, but that's beside the point. Unless you have suggestions. I'm open to recommendations. #FeelingABitLostNow #ButThatWasTotallyWorthIt #HolyBleepThisSeries
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I expected this to be pretty bad, because book 2 was such a disenchantment.
Marker of Hope I feel, wasn't ready to be published. The whole book is like a manuscript, and not a particularly good one. There is tons of set-up, tons of just talking, and then bam! At 60 or 70% a plot tries to arise but barely managed to do so.
There is simply no continuity between the story of book 1 and the end of the story in this book. I was confused at times at the incongruous actions of the characters and their dialogues which were mind-boggling.
I can't help but feel that I wasted my time reading this book and the whole series. It's like Nely Cab just dropped book 1 but had no idea where she was headed, and Marker of Hope was the badly executed last minute save.
This was very disappointing in every way, especially since Cab seems to have taken large parts of her plot from Stephenie Meyer's Breaking Dawn (which in itself was a terrible book) just to make it even less appealing.
This book was greatly anticipated. I have loved this series and have been waiting to read the final installment, but at the same time not wanting it to end. Isis and David's journey has been brutal to say the least. Nely Cab isn't holding back the punches in this book either! This is a fight to the bitter end. Nothing will be easy for these two. The transformation of Isis from one book to the next is well done. She doesn't change who she is necessarily but it's more like she becomes who she's meant to be. I love all the snark and sarcasm and you're never quite sure if you can trust Eros or not. It's a giant guessing game. This is a great series and I highly recommend it.
What a perfect ending to a perfect series! The Creatura series has to be one of my favourites now. In this book we follow Isis as she deals with the hardest decision in her life. I love the characters. They are those you grow to love like family. Everything worked out in the end and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect ending. I recommend this series to anyone.
The thrilling end to a very good series. Isis’s life has gone through so many changes lately, culminating in her pregnancy and making it back home to Texas to be with her mother. Isis knows that she’s more than just a Creatura (child of a god and a human), she’s the Marker of Hope. The bringer about of change to the world the gods and goddesses live in and neither the gods and goddesses, nor the demons are happy with this and groups from both are out to get not only her, but her unborn child. All of this culminates in Isis having to take control of her life and standing up for what’s right. Leading a group of gods and goddesses, she fights both the Council and the demons. I must say that this book was by far my favorite out of the series. I didn’t want to keep reading it because I didn’t want the story to end, but at the same time I needed to devour this book. I needed to know what was going on with the characters while I was doing all the stuff and employee, mother, girlfriend, etc. does during their day. My mind though kept going back to the story and the characters. The writing is great, characters are now fully fleshed out and real. The story is just amazing (that’s not the right word, but my brain can’t come up with a word to tell you how AMAZING!!!! it is). This particular book in the series has made me angry, laugh, cry, and feel a lot of different feels. I definitely recommend this book and series to anyone. It’s just that good!!
At first I wanted to give it 4 stars towards 3.5 stars for how Isis has grown in this book, but then it went downhill at the end. So after all these super complicated preparations, the final stuff only gets about 30 pages, and those 30 pages felt like ideas written randomly on notes and the glued together. Disappointing. Especially how the story ended for 2 important characters: Eros - he deserved much worse for the betrayal of a friend and the annoyance given to the reader (especially this reader) in this series - and Claire, which..doesn't really make sense, it was more like what happened was to have tomething different from Twilight, I guess? Since mostly it's a crossover of Twilight x Greek mythology. Either way, I'm so glad I'm done with this story, and now I can't believe how much I liked the first book all those years back when it was first published. Wow.
Every time I read this book I think of Twilight. Which is not really a bad thing. This was a fast paced book with no dull moment. I loved seeing all the characters grow, especially Isis. I could have done without Eros, since he really didn't contribute to the story and just showed up in the beginning and the end. Also I felt like there should be another book about Eros. The ending seemed like there is more to his story. Maybe he hooks up with Isis' daughter when she's older, like Jacob did with Bella's kid. Who knows.
Wow this book was so good and I love all the characters. This book interesting and making want to read more to what was going to happen with Isis and her future. This book made me laugh and cried at the same time with everything going on. It was a good story.
WOW! What an amazing conclusion to this series. I honestly had no idea how the author was going to wrap this up satisfactorily but she certainly managed to do it with a great big now on top! I love that it isn't all easy, that things, just like in real life, have far reaching consequences. This book had be both rejoicing in the successes and heartbroken when things go wrong. It is a total emotional rollercoaster but SO worth the read.
If you haven't started this series yet Book 1 is free right now and if you love a little mythology in your romance then this is a must read series for you. Exceptionally well done! 5 stars (and a pile of kleenex) from me!
Do not read if you're not prepared to her me vent!
Spoiler alert
You've been warned
I really wanted to give this less stars but the characters that I adore wouldn't let me. This series did have promise but Fruits of Misfortune was in all truth a misfortune and Marker of Hope- don't get me started on that oxymoron.
Anyways, there are so many contradictions in this series I wanted to scream. Maybe it's all in my head.... if you feel the need to correct me then by all means do try!
First off, in the deity culture, sex equals marriage. Again, let's let that sink in- sex equals marriage.
Hmmm.....
Well I'm pretty sure Isis Mom, Claire, & her biological dad, Samuel, had sex. Are they not married?! Then we have Galilea and Galen... in Cabo I'm assuming but she's with Fredrick- can't be sure though she gets shafted in the end since isis is the worst friend ever, so we'll never know. And last but not least David wasn't a virgin when him and isis met so how tf is he not married and we don't have some polygamy going on??? Notice when they thought she was bumping uglies with Eros they didn't ask, "Hey where's your other hubby?"
JUST DOESN'T ADD UP THERE, HUN!!!!
Secondly, if you're immortal, you don't age period. Am I wrong? And hard to kill is a given.
Please someone, anyone, tell me!
In this series they age at a slower rate then supposedly can't die until they reach a certain age. I can understand a special weapon or beheading type thing going on, but being burned by demon hands- that btw are really a colony of ants that have a queen producing them, seems a bit stupid if you ask me. The battle/war just was to fast and dull. I mean a deity died by a sword in the back!
Come on now!!!
Thirdly, Eros' story was just, what now? I thought really?! I thought well since his story in the second book that maybe just maybe he wasn't ever in love with Isis. That he was going to end up thinking he was because she would be the one carrying his true soulmate and that was Deus way of righting his wrongs that he committed through loneliness. Nope he had a crappy end to his story. It was just as bad as poor Galilea.
Galilea- I love you, man! You pick one heck of a crappy friend, who you sold over a thousand years of your life for. I bet you didn't even get maid of honor or is it matron of honor- are you married, Galilea? (I seem to be lost there) I mean Andy wasn't even in book two was she- can't remember- and barely in a sentence or two in book three. Sorry girl, all you were good for was an invisible shield and babysitting:( you were a kicka$$ aunt though!
Another thing that bother me was Deus and Starr in making an appearance in the books outside of legend. Deus has the authority to take immortality away so why does he let the council or any deity go against his belief of change in the first place?
The premise to the series in book one was so promising and then it took a huge nose dive. I really wanted to skim and skip but I made myself read it all. You originally dream of a poppy seed field on your husbands land you will never see. Just now all seems like a waste to the first book. The plot holes and contradictions make my head hurt.
A lot of the first book reminded me of CM Owens Deadly Beauties series- which by the way is kicka$$ and really frickin good. If you don't want to be disappointed I'd go read that. You'll thank me later I promise. I've read ppl waited three years for Fruit of Misfortune. I can understand writers block etc but with what was given more time wouldn't have hurt. Just so disappointed in unnecessary build up for a short showdown that sucked.

First, I did not read the first two books in this series, but still, didn't find it hard to grab foot into the Creatura world. Of course, there's quite a bit of information concerning the plot and characters missing, but it's not difficult to reconstruct and fall into the story. Still, to get the whole experience, it would be better to start with book one.
This is a mixture of myth, demons and magic which sets in a very modern day world with characters, which feel as if they come from the 'every day' despite their powers.
Isis, the main character, is trying to find foothold after breaking up with the love of her life, David. But her pregnancy and recognition of who she really is, only cause her world to flip upside down. She not only has to figure out how to handle her private life but finds herself at the brink of a war with gods and demons.
I liked Isis from the very first page. She's level-headed, down to earth but still, unsure. Her decisions and feelings hit home, making her have the feel of a best friend. She takes things in stride and even when she loses her temper, tries her best to remain planted. She's a true heroine to cheer for as all sorts of troubles on different levels hit her.
This isn't the fastest paced novel, although it does move along steadily. The personal and emotional tension between the characters remains at center stage until the action hits more toward the end of the story. There are moments of imminent danger, but usually the true darkness lurks in the background as a constant reminder of what Isis might be up against. Isis is on a journey of self-discovery, and this is done masterfully.
The plot itself is layered, allowing unexpected twists, turns and intrigue, although it never really becomes overly complex. The ending wasn't as tense or complete as I like (but then, I am an action girl), but it pulls in the ends and ends the story nicely.
Summed up, this is an entertaining read which does have a kick-butt heroine, hot guys and tons of wars and creatures, but still centers around the character's personal development and does a lovely job with emotional depth.
I've read the first two books in the Creatura series, and now I've finished Marker of Hope, the series finale. From the beginning of the series, I've thought she was a great character, and one that I was interested in reading about to see how her story unfolded. There were times in this last book where I wanted to talk some sense in to her, and I think that's why Galilea, who was introduced in the second book, grew on me as a character. When Isis needed it, Galilea was there to serve as a very much needed voice of reason. And Eros? Let's just say that in some way, I think he redeemed himself in the way I saw him. Not going to say much more on that, other than the fact there were numerous times in the preceding books and at the beginning of Marker of Hope that I wanted to slap him.
As far as the book, I think there were some great lines of dialogue, and that was one of my favorite aspects of Marker of Hope. There were a couple of times when I laughed out loud. Now that I've had time to think about the book, there's one thing I picked up on. I felt the last 10% of the book or so felt a little rushed, but that was a minor thing. The most important part of was it showed how Isis changed from the first book, though the second, and where she ended up in the third.
Overall, I enjoyed Marker of Hope. I'm sad that this is the conclusion to the series, because there were plot elements that I'd love to see unfold and developed further, but were only mentioned in dialogue. My rating is 5/5 platypires.
Is there a way I can request that we have more than five star rating? Because this book needs more than a measly five stars! Marker of Hope is beyond excellent, beyond amazing, beyond... well just about anything. I loved it, I loved it hard. This was by far the best book in the series and totally brings everything together in a perfect way. I had so many questions when I finished book two and thankfully, Nely answered every single one of them in this fantastic series finale book. I can't even begin to explain all the emotions I felt while reading this. It was like every emotion that was possible to feel, I felt. I found myself hanging on to the edge of my seat, awaiting to see what happened next. I can't fathom that this series is over because it is so amazing that you need more than three. AND FRIGGIN EROS!! That man... I have a serious love hate relationship with him. Marker of Hope is absolutely astounding. Is this series really over? I mean, like officially? Because I'm gonna miss Isis and David!! All I can say is, prepare yourself when you read this, actually, scratch that, when you read the whole series. Nely, thank you. Thank you for giving me a glimpse into your world, for letting me see what you see, and for letting me be apart of this amazing journey with Isis and David. Now, let me go ugly cry again.
I bet our Greek God is miserable. COME BACK!!!!! And Eros!! where the fudge is he???? He just disappeared. I BET HE IS TURPIS! I hope he's not with the Turpis. Maybe the Turpis are allies or something.... o__o
Sad as heck this series is over :( I loved this book sooooo muuuuch like every question answered and everything had its resolution. In some parts it was a little fast paced or just jumping to different times but still it was awesome :) I knew Isis and David would get back together <3 of course didnt catch they would have a child just yet xD and Eros well, never liked him lol but so destroyed Claire died :'( T_T this series took me through an emotional roller coaster . A series a recommend indeed :)

What an amazing series! I cried , I laughed, I was angry, and shocked. I am in complete awe. I enjoyed evey single bit of this entire series. Im sad that it had to end! Since I'm a fast reader it definitely ended way too soon!
A must read. Great book. The author should either continue the series or start one with the additional character in this book. I highly recommend this series.
This book was filled with action and suspense and ended the series beautifully for me. If you get the chance to get your hands on this series, snag it. It is absolutely worth it.
