Witty interviews with Doyle Brunson, Amarillo Slim, Phil Gordon, Annie Duke, and other outstanding professional poker players describe the greatest hands of each player's career, along with professional tips, expert instruction, money-making tips, and more. Original.
Rosenbloom is a poker player and a poker columnist for the Chicago Tribune. This book is a collection of interviews (and short bios) with 52 of the world’s most famous poker players. Each of the interviewees recounts his/her most memorable poker hand, and goes into the context of the hand: why it was memorable, who it was against, how the cards came, etc. What is great about each interview is that the player goes through his thought process as to why he played the hand in the manner in which he played it. For those of us who enjoy poker, it is valuable insight learning how each player put other players on particular hands, or why they bet a certain amount in a certain situation. For poker addicts, this is a must-read. For non-poker people, this book will make almost no sense to you whatsoever, despite the glossary included and the care by which the book tries to explain what is going on.
Poker stars talk about their most memorable hands, and the editor points out the poker lessons available from those hands. A good, if somewhat light, poker book.
