Sheikh Ibrahim al-Ansari knows a reconciliation with his estranged father means accepting his father's choice of bride...unless he gets there first! Luckily he has the perfect princess in mind--his new assistant Ruby Dance.
After her last cheating boyfriend, Ruby is avoiding all commitments, but this promotion could help her family, so she agrees to a temporary marriage. She should be craving her next assistant role, not the devastating beauty of the desert and the man who rules it all...
Hi, I'm Liz Fielding, and I'm a best selling contemporary romance author with more than 15 million books in print and Katie Fforde wrote, when honouring me with the Romantic Novelists' Association's Outstanding Achievement Award in 2019 said - "Liz Fielding's books, with their warmth, humour and emotion, have charmed millions of readers. She is a true star of the romantic fiction genre..."
And now I've turned to a life of crime with my first cozy mystery. Murder Among the Roses, published on 18 April 2023 - of which Katie Fforde also said, "I was gripped from beginning to end..."
Reading is a big part of my life. I love witty, contemporary romances, not too much sex,, Women's fiction by the likes of Fiona Harper, Julie Cohen, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Crusie and Barbara O'Neal. And I love crime fiction that isn't too gory, or focussed on clue hunting, but is big on character.
My best loved series at the moment are the Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths, The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch and the Libby Sarjeant Mysteries by Lesley Cookman. I've just read the first in the Georgina Drake crime series from Kate Hardy and looking forward to the next.

MS Fielding has done it again written a story that will take you on a magical journey where we get to know a handsome Sheikh and the life he leads and get to know how caring he is I have to admit I do have a very soft spot for a Sheikh and Bram ticks all of the boxes and sends tingles up my spine.
Sheikh Ibrahim (Bram) al-Ansari has lived in exile from his family after disgracing himself five years ago he was a great sportsman and all round good guy but suddenly he made this mistake and he pulls himself out of the limelight and leads a life of hard work. But when there is a chance of reconciliation with his father that he really wants but that means a chosen bride, Bram decides to take a risk and choose a convenient Princess his new temporary PA MS Ruby Dance and makes her an offer that she decides to take.
Ruby Dance is the best PA around and works for an agency she is one of The Garland Girls and she only works temporary for clients for a reason she has secrets that she keeps close and does not talk about so when she is suddenly sent to the small country Qa’lat al Minaá to help out Sheikh Ibrahim her life is about to be turned upside down and their first meeting is so good Ruby is such a strong heroine caring and vey attuned to what is going on.
This is such a lovely story beautifully written the scenery is fabulous the hero and heroine Bram and Ruby come to life on the pages they are smart and caring their journey is sensual and moving as both open up about their pasts and fall deeply for each other and what a courtship they are going to have. Thank you MS Fielding for another keeper I loved this one.
Everybody loves a sheikh. Except his family when he disgraces himself in a public place and it goes viral on social media.
Sheikh Ibrahim al-Ansari has been estranged from his family for around five years, living in a neighbouring Arab country and becoming even more rich through his own efforts. The last thing he expects is an invitation to his father's birthday party. The only thing is, the invitation back into the bosom of the family comes with strings. Strings that Bram has no intention of letting twine around him.
Ruby likes to keep on the move, not getting close to anyone since the family scandal that destroyed her comfortable life and Olympic ambitions. Working as a temp is perfect and when her job takes her to work for Sheikh Ibraham, it's just another day in paradise, or the desert, as the case may be.
Losing his secretary temporarily to a skiing injury is the last thing Bram needs but his friend's suggestion he use Ruby as cover to avoid the unwelcome arranged marriage makes him look at her in a new way. For Ruby the financial benefits are the chance of putting the past behind her forever.
I really enjoyed seeing Bram and Ruby get to know each other. They both have wounds from the past, some seeming to be self inflicted, like Bram's estrangement from his family and Ruby has faced betrayal two too many times.
This is a sweet romance but it has just the right amount of sizzle to make the connection between the characters work. A lovely read and a satisfying Happy Ever After.
I received this book from the Author in an on-line competition.
This book is a really good book. This author puts her stories together to give the reader dreams and long time memories. The cover of the book is just beautiful! This is a home run for Liz.
Bram was next in line to the throne and was engaged to be married to a woman his parents chose for him since birth, however he enjoyed sports and his freedom. So five years ago, he went home to prepare for his wedding but found out that his fiancee was in love with his younger brother, so he sacrifices himself by planting a scandalous scene in which he gets disinherited by his father. Five years later, his fiancee is now married to his brother & his brother has taken his reign while he still lives in exile. While his assistant is recovering from an accident, Ruby is sent to fill in his absence. Bram misses his family and wants to make amends to his father for his past behavior so he plans to go home to apologize but secretly finds out that his father & their enemy have plans for him to marry his ex-fiancee's 17 yr old daughter! Not willing to marry a 17 yr old, he comes up with a plan to marry Ruby instead and divorce in a few months. What we have is 2 people who have been hurt in the past and form a close friendship. There is not much of a romance (no sex at all) but they were still sweet together and some may enjoy it - especially if you are tired of ass... heros. Bram was a good guy in every way....
A really fun connection between the main characters makes Liz Fielding's upcoming release a joy to read. Not only are we watching a romance spark, but we catch ourselves smiling quite often at the sass this couple shows towards each other. Really enjoyed them! The only thing I was left wanting was a little more time with them!
Once banished from his home country, Sheikh Ibrahim al-Ansari knows he can't return home without a bride on his arm unless he wants to be forced into marriage with the woman his estranged father has chosen for him. He lucks into the fact that his new temporary assistant fits his needs to a tee and has agreed to a temporary marriage of convenience!
Ruby Dance has her own painful past that she lives every day running from, so if she can help Bram to rectify past mistakes and reunite with his family, she is all for it. Neither of them expect to actually fall for each other when they are spending time preparing for their trip, but when it happens, will they decide to make their marriage a real one?
I purchased all four of the Romantic Getaways “series” that was released this month and finally started reading with The Sheikh’s Convenient Princess by Liz Fielding. First, let me say, I LOVE these two! They had their bits of “broken” that, for me, really drew them together and made them perfect for one another. Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Ansari (known as Bram) has a temp show up at his island sanctuary when his PA breaks his leg whilst on vacation. The Garland Agency sends Ruby Dance and when the two meet? Let’s say sparks fly in the very best of ways! The story is about each of them dealing with their own personal histories and following through with a plan hatched by Bram – I won’t go into details because therein lies the story of these two. I really loved Bram’s family – some of them are just a hoot! – and even though Ruby is a stranger to them, they welcome her with open arms. I read this book in an evening, that’s how much I wanted to know how these two got their HEA, and truly enjoyed it. I am hoping to read the rest of the quartet very soon.
This book is exactly what a romantic getaway should be. I was swept away to a far away land while reading The Sheikh's Convenient. Bride The setting is beautiful, the hero is rich, head strong, smart, handsome, and a disinherited Sheikh. The heroine is smart, beautiful, sassy and strong willed and has been wronged in her past. The Sheikh's Convenient Bride by Liz Fielding is a wonderful book. Liz Fielding has a true talent for describing the setting and her characters, so you can close your eyes and be taken away. This book is just the definition of romance in a desert setting. I found the story to be fast paced and has just enough heat to add a bit of sizzle to it. I took my time and read this book over a couple of evening, so I could savor the story. The Sheikh's Convenient Bride now has found a home on my keeper shelf. Oh, and whoever was responsible for the cover art of the book did an outstanding job, it has a beautiful cover.
This is such a treat! Thank you, thank you, Ms Fielding, for an absolutely wonderful touching, intense, utterly romantic read. Sigh. This one really hit the spot!
In The Sheikh’s Convenient Princess, her 65th category romance novel for Harlequin, multi award-winning author Liz Fielding proves once again why she’s one of the genre’s best-loved and most gifted writers with this engaging, poignant and captivating tale I devoured in one sitting!
Efficiency is PA Ruby Dance’s middle name. Conscientious, meticulous and dedicated to her job, Ruby puts all of her heart, soul and energy into her career and is one of the best personal assistants in London. However, beneath the efficient and buttoned-up veneer lies a woman who has had more than her fair share of heartbreak, anguish and disappointment. Having been let down in the past, Ruby had erected impenetrable barriers around herself which many had tried – and failed – to breach and when she had met, through the course of her work, someone she had thought she could trust, she had been bitterly disappointed when she had been betrayed once again. Vowing never to be so easily persuaded to let down her guard ever again, Ruby strengthens her resolve to keep emotion and any kind of personal attachment at bay, so when her boss asks her to travel to a desert kingdom to act as a temporary PA to Sheikh Ibrahim al-Ansari, she jumps at the chance, unaware that fate is about to turn her life upside down…
All his life, Ibrahim – Bram – al-Ansari had been destined for a life of duty and responsibility – until he had disgraced himself in public and found his antics splashed all over every single tabloid in the world. Ostracised by his family and told never to set foot in his home ever again, Bram had had no other choice but to stay away from the people he loved most in the world and the kingdom that was set to be his one day. Bram had thought that he would be shunned by his family forever – until he receives a summons from his dying father asking him to come back home. However, this reconciliation comes with a price: if he is to be welcomed back to his desert kingdom, he must accept his father’s choice of bride – unless he gets there first! Bram needs a temporary bride who would agree to be his convenient wife for a short period of time – and the perfect candidate has just turned up on his doorstep: his new PA, Ruby Dance!
Marriage was definitely not on the agenda for Ruby, but a convenient marriage with a set expiration date and an attractive financial settlement at the end of it could be the answer to all of her money problems – but Ruby hadn’t counted on falling head over heels with her handsome Sheikh! Will she find the strength and courage to walk away from the man she has fallen in love with at the end of their convenient arrangement? And more to the point, will Bram want her to?
Liz Fielding is one of my favourite romance writers, so whenever I pick up one of her books my expectations are pretty high – and she manages to exceed them every single time! Like all of her previous releases, The Sheikh’s Convenient Princess is a charming, engrossing and mesmerizing romantic read that is absolutely impossible to put down.
Ruby and Bram are such wonderful characters. Ruby is a terrific heroine and her journey from reticent secretary to spirited heroine is an absolute joy to read and Bram is a gorgeous hero who is sexy, kind-hearted and honourable.
With The Sheikh’s Convenient Princess, the fantastic Liz Fielding has once again penned an unforgettable read destined for keeper shelves the world over and I am already counting down the days for the next release by this outstanding writer of romantic fiction!
Definitely a good read. A kind novel with people that have made mistakes and grown from them. A novel of love and life and passion as well as business and family. Each a building block within the story as the plot was unfolded. Characters of depths and love. Each of the items I have written above contributed to a novel of interest as well as one that was warming to the heart. I enjoyed the writers gift of telling the story in words of writing. One that allows the reader emotion to feel and just relax while guided through the characters and plot lines. I sincerely think this writer has a gift one that I am happy she shared with us. It is a heartwarming story of love and life. Enjoy it, I did! I was given this book in return for an honest review. Anna Swedenmom
The story of personal assistant and Englishwoman, Ruby, and Sheikh Ibrahim 'Bram' al-Ansari. This was a really sweet romance with tender moments and some swoon-worthy scenes. The two main characters both had interesting back stories and suited each other so well. I liked Ruby's transition from the no-nonsense, professional PA to being thrust into the convenient temporary princess role and how they both developed feelings for each other and came to terms with their past. Bram was very likeable, charming and honourable. The way the story flowed and divulged secrets was really well done. Bram's homecoming was a little anti-climatic after the build up of his big return and the dramatic turn towards the end was a bit abrupt but this was a really enjoyable story.
Liz Fielding writes with depth and maturity of an author who knows her stuff which in turn makes for an story which has depth of characters mixed with an exciting plot full of exquisite places, words and feeling.
Bram and Ruby are the stunning characters for a convenience marriage story which swirls of love and romance that left me with a smile! The plot may be standard but the way everything is described and laid out make it amazing and a read that you're sorry to finish. Their background stories were enjoyable and their path to be together was well deserved.
Liz writes a wonderful Sheikh and I highly recommend this book to all romance lovers.
The Sheikh's Convenient Princess by Liz Fielding Can it possibly happen…From the Sheikh Secretary....To the Sheikh’s wife? Ruby Dance prefers to work temporary secretary jobs. She has been cheated on by her last boyfriends and now avoiding all commitments. When she has been sent to fill in for the secretary who was working for Sheikh Ibrahim al-Ansari as his regular one had suffered serious injuries and yet when the Sheikh needs her for more than his secretary she thinks of her family and what this promotion could do for them so she says yes. Sheikh has not been in good graces with his father and to get back he must marry his father’s choice of bride for him but if he gets married before meeting with his father that would save him from that choice. Sheikh has a history of being a play boy and Ruby knows this. He needs that instant wife and she consents to being that. When the need for the wife no longer is needed, will Ruby be able to walk away as she is very interested in the Sheikh? Will the Sheikh be able to walk away from Ruby too? Liz Fielding once again writes a love story worthy of more than the 5 stars I was able to give it.
I loved the glimpse into the traditions and culture that this book provided. Bram is the disgraced heir to the throne and needs a wife to get back in his father's good graces. Ruby is his PA and Bram is certain she is the perfect fake wife for the job. Neither one of them counted on falling in love with each other. However, when a kingdom is at stake can you really trust your heart?
This was a lovey read and I really enjoyed the characters and the glimpse into an exotic land.
Liz Fielding's Harlequin Romantic Getaways book, The Sheikh's Convenient Princess, was a fun book because of the main characters: Bram and Ruby. This is a temporary marriage story brought on by a possible reconciliation between Bram and his father. Bram and Ruby are each smart and successful and treat their marriage as a business arrangement. There are interesting secondary characters and some twists and turns that make this an enjoyable read.
I liked this better than I thought I would when I started it. The storyline was rushed and formulaic, even for a romance novel. But as I was reading, I did feel transported and thought that the characters had unexpected depth. Enjoyable.
Liz Fielding writes heartwarming romance and alpha men that make you swoon. She describes the scenery beautifully.
Bram has been banished from his home and can only come home if he agrees to an arranged marriage . It will be a chance to write the wrongs he committed before. Bram really doesn't want to do this, yet at the same time he wants to see his father on his birthday. Luckily his assistant has an accident and a temp arrives in the form of Ruby. If only she will agree to become his temporary bride. Ruby is on her own, her parents long dead, no friends because of what her father did. As Bram and Ruby spend more time together and get to know each other, will feelings blossom. Can they find a happy ending? Book recommended for romance lovers.
The Sheikh's Convenient Princess by Liz Fielding is a dramatic and emotive story with vivid prose, engaging dialogue and two leads who are sure to entertain you with their spontaneity! The story unfolds beautifully from the onset, grabbing your attention and keeping you mesmerized with each new chapter. I especially cheered for Ruby, who had been cheated on, so her heart is still fragile. However, seeing her and Bram together had me cheering for them both. Overall, I think Liz Fielding has done a wonderful job with this story. Her unique writing voice shines through and as a reader I was bowled over by it all.
Liz Fielding writes some of the most romantic stories I have ever read and each one is better than the last. This one is no exception. The romance between Bram and Ruby will make your breath catch and your heart melt.
I don't even know where to begin in expressing my feelings for this book because my head and heart are both still reeling with all the warm, fuzzy romantic feelings I have from reading. I feel a warm, fuzzy, romantic book hangover coming on!! I just want to go back and re-read the ending over and over again.
I absolutely adored Bram from his initial aloofness to his softening as he got to know Ruby and fell in love with her. Bram was such an honorable man, and in spite of a rather madcap escapade in his youth which provided an incredible twist at the end of the story, he did what was right. My heart broke for him from when I read of his estrangement from his family and how much he missed them, longed to be welcomed back into his family again. I loved his reactions as he found himself falling for Ruby and yet stopping himself from reaching out to her because of the agreement they had. It was terribly, terribly romantic and sigh-worthy.
There's no way to not love Ruby. She's such a wonderfully efficient and organized girl and of course, I love the whole boss / secretary thing going on too. But aside from that, Ruby had heart and she cared. She cared about doing what was best for Bram and she cared about doing the right thing. She was so selfless right to the very end.
One of the most romantic parts of the story is actually early on when Bram and Ruby work out the details for the back story of their own little romance to their temporary marriage. I fell in love with both Bram and Ruby while they talked about how they met and how they fell in love in their made up story. The made up story was hugely romantic and definitely a courtship fit for a princess. And of course, with an assistant as efficient as Ruby on hand to help Bram with the details, their courtship and romance were perfect. :-)
There's nothing to not love about a romance by Ms Fielding. If you want something that will warm your heart and fill you with fuzzy, lovey dovey feelings, you need to read this book.
Disgraced, disinherited and exiled "Bram" Aka Sheikh Ibrahim is summoned home for his fathers birthday. Its an opportunity to mend the breach between them but it comes with secret deal, he is to marry a women chosen by his father. Ruby Dancer comes to work for Bram as his PA when his gets injured skiing. She has a past that left scars so being a temp PA works for her as she is always on the move. The scenes between the two of them will have you smiling and you will become totally immersed in the story. What transpires from this point is such a wonderful story that you have to read without spoilers. Lets just say Bram and Ruby will find out that sometimes two wounded souls can be healed by the love they never thought they would find. Ms. Fielding has written so many fantastic books but I think this is one of my favorites and I believe you will also , and also find yourself feeling for Ruby and falling for Bram. A keeper.
I absolutely loved this. Liz Fielding writes so beautifully and creates such delicious characters who engage your interest from the very beginning. This is a lovely story with fascinating characters who I was rooting for right from the moment I met them. A delicious story and full of romance.
I re-read this and enjoyed it even more. I normally like a bit more open door in my romances but LF ramps up the sexual tension along with emotional content so well that I was okay with the ‘off the page’ sex. I loved these two characters- strong, adult, emotional, caring people you just wanted to be happy. A 5plus star read.
"The Sheikh's Convenient Princess" by Liz Fielding is an enjoyable, quick read. Sheikh Ibrahim al-Ansari was banished from his country and can only return with a bride since he refused to marry the woman his family wanted him to marry. Ruby Dance comes into his life and becomes the convenient bride to be, but she is fighting her own personal issues. Love will find a way.
