Damien I’m not the guy you take home to meet your parents. I’m the guy they warned you about.
But the day I meet Audrey—my mousy new secretary—I can’t get her out of my head. I want to strip her of her frumpy clothes and discover what’s underneath.
Audrey tries to resist me. She knows I’m no good. Too bad I’ve already decided that she’s mine to take.
Audrey He’s my boss. He’s not a guy I should ever get involved with. I know his reputation. He sleeps with his secretaries until he gets bored and moves on to the next without one looking back.
But I can't say no when he starts to seduce me. When he takes me on his desk and against the door of his office. When he guides me into his home, his bed, his heart.
Before I know what's happening, I'm falling for him. The only question is… …Will he catch me?
Contains a free bonus novel, RAFE, plus a sneak peek at my sexy MC romance, SOLD FOR CHRISTMAS.
I usually like these type of stories but this one was not that good.
The writing was not good. Too much blushing and licking of lips.
I feel like a lot of books now use the name Audrey as the heroine's name.
I was never sure what to think of Damien.
Damien owns a company that Audrey gets a job working as a secretary. Damien is known to have sex with every woman he works with. Audrey is hired. She is the complete opposite of every woman that Damien is attracted to. I loved the premise so far. I love the stories where the billionaire falls in love with the mousy heroine. However, it became too much with Audrey having her tights having a run and other things that made me think that she was just caring how she looked. You can have second hand clothes, but still be careful not to look like a slob or homeless person.
Damien has an old acquaintance that is trying to steal his company and he needs Audrey help. By working together Damien starts to fall for Audrey.
Pros: It's short. Damien isn't the worst hero ever. I was way more interested in his friend than him. At least I didn't get nightmares from this one.
Cons: Audrey. Audrey. Audrey.
Okay, so spoilers abound.
I despised Audrey. In all the books I've read on Kindle Unlimited only two characters are too stupid to live and Audrey was number one. She's working for a billionaire, and dresses like she's homeless. There's no way she would have gotten an interview, let alone a job for the CEO. At one point, it's mentioned that in college she majored in Economics. Yet when the boss asks her if she knows what a pyramid scheme is, she thinks it has to do with Tupperware????
She has zero friends except the homeless guy they mention she lets stay in her apartment on occasion, and her dog. So, she's alienated from society because she's so awkward and her conversations with her dog make me want to slap her. After a car wreck, she finds herself locked in a warehouse with all the doors chained shut and when the bad guy starts talking to her after she's been there at least 12-15 hours, she finally gasps with shock that she's been kidnapped?
Every woman in the book is an absolute bitch that only wants to fuck the hero, except Audrey, who is a pure unspoiled angel whose only fault is that she's ridiculously stupid, and hates pretty things.
While the author did well at fleshing out Damien, there was absolutely no reason for him to fall for her, other than that she wanted to do everything he said. She's supposed to be the perfect sub, I guess, with no thoughts that aren't reflective of his, except when she has to argue to show she's more than a caricature of a character. Ugh.

Honestly, this book made me HATE and DETEST bad boy billionaires who Re into BDSM... I was liking it in the beginning but then it just... Ughh it aggravated me way too much!
This is a delightful, intriguing bad boy romance which I thoroughly enjoyed and found it a pleasure to read. This story covers Aubrey, her only friend is her dog Pepper and is a quiet badly dressed young woman starting her first day at LennoxCo as Damien Lennox's secretary. She is told to walk right into his office and upon entering finds Damien Lennox having sex with a woman. Damien Lennox quite casually just zips up and gets rid of the woman he was just having sex with and looks at his new secretary and thinks to himself what a frumpy little mouse. What you will find in this story is drama, suspense, intrigue, action, blackmail, abduction, catching the boss having sex in the office, a frumpy woman, clumsy, noticing her good legs and body, offer to buy clothes, refusal, staring at her, torture, thinking of Aubrey as a submissive, sending Aubrey to storeroom, following Aubrey, making sexual suggestions, thanks but no thanks, a warning from a woman, helping out at soup kitchen, leaving, find Damien waiting, states he will leave her alone if she kisses him, walking her home, kissing, leaving, thinking of Aubrey, deciding Aubrey will be his, phoning friend (Sebastien Roberts aka Seb), taking a call from Richard Hodges, threats, wants to buy Damien's company, calling Aubrey into his office, feelings of lust, grabbing her, kissing, stripping her, satisfying her but not himself, Aubrey ashamed and embarrassed, home, talking to Pepper, sleeping, knocking, Damien coming in, kissing, Damien acting like a Dom, rope, tying Aubrey up, born to be submissive, intimacy, a cuddle, talking, leaving, work, giving all emails from Richard Hodges, go over, look for anything unusual, feelings of desire, want her more, emails mention shoe store, dinner, talking about Hodges, going home to fetch Pepper, going to Damien's home, taken to room filled with woman clothing, told to strip, putting on underwear, taken to kitchen, feeding her, taking her to bedroom, intimacy, telling Aubrey he bought all the clothes for her, waiting for him to fall asleep, leaving with dog in old clothes, going home and finding her place ripped apart, phoning Damien, he is upset, getting there and checking place out, only laptop is gone, acting dominant again, angry, should have fired her, Aubrey finally angry, breaking up with him, getting a town car, accident, hospital, Aubrey and Pepper gone, driver disappeared, memories, escaping from hospital, get Seb in, tell Seb that Hodges has Aubrey, Seb and Damien hacking Hodges computer, Aubrey at warehouse, two men, hit in face, German Shepherds, meeting Richard Hodges, tied up and gagged, Damien phoning Detective O' Brian, handing papers over, finding Pepper, buying everything dog needs, buying black-market guns, Damien phones the Detective and goes to warehouse, Richard Hodges threatens Aubrey, shots fired by police, Hodges dead, Aubrey rescues, a proposal, emotional feelings and erotic scenes. The story-line is impressive and well written, the plot is taut and terrific. The characters are well developed, tangible and realistic with their feelings, desires and needs. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a well written Bad Boy Romance with a HEA.
NO. Big fat N-O. As usual the book sounder I interesting so what the hell right? (Sigh) Waste of time. How I !managed to keep reading until about twenty chapters deep, I can say. But I did, and the longer I read the more I disliked the h Audrey.
Audrey has to be one of worst h's I've read in a longtime. I get it, she's suppose to be "submissive" material for the ever dominant and control hungry H Damien, but lord help me she was p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c. Small town girl from Wisconsin. Born and raised i n a trailer park by shitty parents who couldn't afford to raise a kid. She's twenty-two going on sixteen. I'm not kidding. Her sense of loyalty to her parents is silly, especially since she can't even see that they do deserve her support and hard earned money (that much I did agree with Damien over) but she is essentially a malleable weak noodle. No back bone, not really. Where I left off in the book she FINALLY stood up for herself to Damien about how he wasn't comfortable with the real her by buying her super expensive clothes. That was something I was hoping shed spoke up about sooner, but no it took a bunch of teeth pulling and apologizing to finally get it out of her. And her need to apologize excessively along with blushing like a hormonal teenager.
Damien, well he has some nice attributes for your average cocky CEO, but ultimately he is just an asshole. Controlling and inconsiderate. The whole BDSM aspect is fine, I don't mind that theme when its well written and their first sexual experience was fine. But then suddenly she's calling him "sir" outside of the bedroom and not in a teasingly let's have sex vibe, but in normal environment. He became a jerk real fast.
Began yo feel like an unhealthy, almost abusive (not physical) relationship.
Awful. Pass.

This book had so much potential but almost from the start the heroine gets steamrolled and allows it because of the fog clouding her mind. Not to mention the end. Umm first it ended out of nowhere and was so rushed I got whiplash. All of a sudden I love you's are thrown around the End. Except the HEA feels anything but real. If this was a real couple I don't think they;d hit the one year mark :( Saving grace was the biker book that started halfway through so that's something else to remember. The book will end before 50% so prepare for a quick read.
This book has action, drama and hot steamy romance. I was hooked from the beginning. Damien is hot and sexy and ladies can't resist him. Audrey is shy and innocent and not Damien's type at all. The attraction is strong and the chemistry is hot and steamy. Will Audrey be Damien's undoing and make him change his ways? This book is a great read. I really enjoyed it. Received copy of honest review.
I received this book for my honest opinion. I really liked this book. This book has everything rrom drama, mobsters, some romance and sex. I was a little upset with her and her child I thought they were a bit biachy but I thought they probably have to be to get with a mobster. Easy and quick read.
This was an ok read. I like that Audrey didn't care how outdated her clothes looked. She knew she wasn't fashion forward but had her priorities straight. She even helped out at the soup kitchen. There were a few times that I wanted to punch Damien for treating Audrey horribly. He seemed like a demanding ass. In the end, he rescued Audrey and that's what mattered.
oh man, i tried, but i couldn't get through it. the characters were inconsistent and the story lacked so much. i couldn't hang. I'm so glad it wasn't my first Ellen harper book or im sure i would have dismissed her altogether. Rafe was awesome. it's almost hard to believe it was written by the same person.
I received this book in exchange for my honest review. You will love reading about Damien and Audrey. I know that I couldn't stop reading once I started. Ellen Harper has become one of my favorite authors lately. I can't wait to read more of her work.
I received an arc for an honest review. That being said, I wanted to love it, and parts I did, but I just couldn't. He's a serious jerk, she's way to of a submissive doormat. It all ends well with a great hea it's just a lot if the getting there that was hard for me.
I liked this story it was good. Damian is an alpha male kind of a jerk at first but then I started to really like him. Audry is awkward and falls for him. It's a hot read with a little comedy
