Devo dire che sono rimasta abbastanza delusa. Sinceramente non so cosa mi aspettassi.. tutto tranne che un' "americanata". Scene di azione alla "Rambo" condito da quel buonismo patriottico tipico delle opere americane. Diciamo che questo genere non è molto (anzi per niente) nelle mie corde. Peccato.. Lo spunto mi piaceva molto.

Negativissimo. L'ho finito solo perché erano poche pagine. I contenuti: armi, motori e violenza gratuita. Con aggiunta di scene sessiste e "buonismo patriottico".

Carino, senza esagerare. L'idea mi sembra ottima e originale, lo svolgimento avrebbe potuto essere più... più. Come si è arrivati a mettere il potere nelle mani dei teenagers? Quali sono, in dettaglio, le fasi della vita? Com'è possibile che gli USA abbiano ancora medici e ingegneri, quando a 20 anni le persone (sembra) vengono declassate a lavori manuali ripetitivi? Come viene salvata l'esperienza delle generazioni precedenti?
Va bene la sospensione dell'incredulità, ma qui ho dovuto fare un piccolo sforzo per andare a vanti senza storcere il naso. Anche il nostro antieroe non è poi così facile da amare.

Una bella lettura.
La vicenda si svolge veloce e l'azione è avvincente.
L'unico, piccolo neo, è la mancata spiegazione di come può una società permettersi un ricambio generazionale a ritmo così veloce. Come si forma in cos' poco tempo una classe dirigente e come avviene il passaggio di consegne tra una generazione ed un'altra.
Ma si tratta di letteratura, quindi vale la sospensione dell'incredulità.

How is this not on everyone’s radar?
I’d honestly never heard of this book until a member of the Written Dystopia Facebook group recommended it to me. I knew Gary Wolf wrote Roger Rabbit, and after that I didn’t know much else. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement!
This book flips the traditional rebel teen inspired genre tropes in a delightful way. Normally we get the “utopian” society which is only questioned by a younger demographic that struggles against the regime of the dystopian future. Not so with Wolf’s imaginative storyline where the Old Person Army actively rebels against the youth ruled utopian world. I was so engrossed with the characters and the ideology behind this story, please tell me there will be a sequel.
In full honesty, I’m an indie author who rebukes traditional publishing and all it stands for. I’m not big on leaving reviews for famous or corporate backed authors, but come on people! Do you realize indie authors struggle daily to get reviews whereas celebrities get them handed over like candy? This book has TWO reviews on Amazon. This can not be allowed, it disrupts the indie versus traditional game. Especially with a book this good. Read this book, then show it some love so that we can restore the balance and I can compete with a worthwhile opponent.
