Russian Bratva #3

Dancing for the Badman

Rate this book
A lifetime ago, Kirill Baryshev was a man in love. Born and raised to embody what it means to be a Russian soldier—hard, cold, and ruthless—she was the one person he trusted with his heart. She was his gold. She was his treasure. And then she was gone. Her death, coupled with the death of their unborn child, was an act of betrayal. She took herself away from him after learning who he really was. A badman. A Bratva man.

A decade ago, Tatyana Orlova was a young woman who knew her future—and he was unbearably handsome. But when the FBI knocked on her door, warning her that her future was a dangerous man with ties to the Russian mafia, her fear rewrote her future in seconds. Pregnant and alone, she fled, the heartache of her decision something she knew she would carry with her always. Raising a daughter on her own, working the pole night after night, was far from a dream come true. Her life was about survival. Her hope was lost in reality—until her past darkened her door.

Lies. Regret. Fear. Anger. It all rises to the surface when the truth is revealed and Kirill and Tatyana are reunited. One federal agent's obsession leads the fated lovers back together. But the love they once shared was shattered years ago, and the pain that accompanied that loss may not ever be overcome. Tatyana will endure Kirill's cruel treatment toward her for the sake of their daughter, but the love she harbors for him is not lost. His presence makes her hope. His presence makes her dream. Maybe, just maybe, she can dance her way back into her badman's heart.

What a pleasant surprise! Hayley Faiman is a new author to me and this story had me turning pages way past my bedtime. This gripping tale kept me on the edge of my seat and held my interest until the very end. Dancing for the Badman is one of those stories that you just have trouble putting away, simply because you are constantly wondering what will happen next. Compelling and fascinating.

This book told the story of Kirill Baryshev and Tatyana Orlova. A decade ago, they met in New-York when Tatyana was a eighteen year old college student and Kirill was ten years her senior. They were madly in love and blissfully happy until the FBI knocked on her door explaining what he was and who he was and things went so horribly wrong. Young, pregnant, scared and completely alone, Tatyana took the decision to run away. A decision she knew she would always carry with her. For years she struggled and did everything she needed to do to survive and to raise her daughter on her own, she danced and stripped to pay bills. Leaving him was a foolish thing she did out of pure fear, and the biggest regret in her life.

Raised to be a Russian Bratva soldier, Kirill is a ruthless, rough and unapologetic powerful man. He’s now a Pakhan, the highest ranking member in his area, the boss who controls everything. For the past decade, Kirill assumed that Tatyana was dead after the police told him so. He mourned Tatyana the love of his life and what he thought was the loss of their child. When Kirill funds out that Tatyana is still alive and that she’s kept his daughter from him, denied him the ability to know and love her, he’s coming for her. Fueled by hatred and revenge, Kirill is determined to make her pay for her betrayal, for her lies and for changing their future forever, no matter what it takes. Yet his desire for her is still there, like a burning inferno, devastating and absolute.

In the beginning I wasn't that keen on Kirill and I wanted to punch him in the face for how he treated Tatyana when she returned. His thirst for revenge causing him to lose all control. He was a total bastard to her, he was so angry making treats, continuously. One right after the other. But that didn't stop me from being drawn to his character like a moth to a flame ! His charisma and his personality was such that it was impossible not to love him.

The guilt of keeping his daughter from him and swimming in a sea of regrets,Tatyana stood by his side ignoring her own feelings and her own worth, for the sake of their daughter and to keep their family reunited. She’s still very much in love with Kirill and even if they are now both different, and their circumstances in life changed them, Tatyana wants to find a way to bring him back to her and to obtain his forgiveness. But not everything is black and white and little does she know that Kirill has also a secret on his own. A shocking revelation he kept for himself when they were still together.

Holy hell, the second half of the book wrecked me! Kirill redeemed himself, big time! I have to say that I was utterly delighted with these two amazing characters who were so meant to be together. To see them strip down the walls and let their true passion burn was beyond beautiful and scorching hot. Their relationship was intense, all-consuming and passionate and the steamy love scenes had my pulse racing. I loved Tatyana’s strengths and capabilities and I particularly enjoyed her maturity and the fact that she was a take no crap kind of woman. And Kirill, I could have never anticipated him being so loving, kind, and considerate, giving Tatyana the sweetest version of himself.

And let's not forget the mafia involvement entwined into this very well-written story. There is dark mafia themes throughout with a hard edge of realism. The balance between romance and action was spot on with amazing secondary characters.

You know, I'm sort of tired of saying this but I feel like I have to! Please do not use language you do not know well enough.

And I sort of don't know what to say.

Here I had hopes that the characters would be a bit more mature but no such a luck.

And every book seems like a rehearsal of the previous ones. You always get the same "characters" with almost identical problems etc. I already read the whole series but I just do not want to review it. And honestly, I cannot tell the characters and the plot from those books apart. If you ask me in which I would have no idea. I know that it happened but I have no idea with which characters and in which book.

This was okay.

At least it was different from the first two.

But the Bratva just aren't as dynamic as others I have read in similar stories.

I did like the Second Chance aspect of it though

Fantastic series! Hayley Faiman's characters pops off the pages thus making it so easy to follow them without being lost from her previous books in this series.

Misunderstanding ruins relationship but boy did I hate hero, Kirill with a passion when this book started!!! After awhile --namely 1/3 of "Dancing for the Badman", this bitter 'badman', Kirill, yes Kirill Baryshev grew on me! When he forgave Tatyana - that alone was priceless for such a dark and complex character. I loved how much Kirill love Tatyana and how he would do just about anything to protect what was his. The different sides of Kirill's personality was pivotal to this riveting romantic suspense and was understandably so due to his past and the environment of a young soldier in the Bratva when he was first with Tatyana some 10 years earlier. All the same, I loved seeing those different sides to Kirill’s personality. But watch out for the FBI and how they worked so hard against this couple from past to present but watch how this Bratva handled it!!!

This, too is a must read and again I highly recommend this series if you like the feel of a true Russian Bratva story with all the drama, angst and romantic suspense!

As anyone that has read my reviews knows I am not big on second chance stories. However, I did not have much of choice when it came to this story as you kind of have to read it since it is in the series.

I loved this story of heartache, pain, mystery, and love. These men know how to protect and love their women even when they hate them.

Another great story

I can’t, I can’t with this book

This was a BIG no for me. I totally disappointed and disliked this characters. I never get the feeling or a real connection between H and H, I love dark romance but this is beyond that, for the first time I feel like we supposed to accept physical violence, at least that’s what the heroine make me think. She slapped and got her face crossed by him, that’s something a can never accept, not even in a book. I’m going to try next book and hopefully i can keep reading this author, lets see.

Title: Dancing for the Badman
Author:Hayley Faiman
Series:Russian Bratva #3

Dancing for the Badman was a great 5 star read.
Loving this series.

Tatyana was in love and pregnant at 18. One day an FBI agent came along and fed her lies that caused her fear and she ran.

Kirill has been mourning the love of his life for the past 9 years until one day he get’s an email telling him they are alive. He immediately goes in search of Tatyana and his child.

She’s kept my daughter from me for nine years. I hate her for it. I don’t know if I can ever forgive her for it.

The FBI agent has been pressuring Tati and trying to get in her bed. He’s getting to the point of scary and Tati isn’t sure what to do. Then she starts feeling like someone is watching her but is relieved and scared when she comes face-to-face with Kirill. Kirill immediately takes Tati and his daughter Kiska home with him. Kirill forces Tati to share his bed but is struggling with his trust issues. Will he be able to love her again?

I just feel plain sick. My life is in complete shambles, yet my daughter has never been happier. I’ll suffer, my heart will suffer because hers is finally full. -Tati

When Tati and Kiska move in with Kirill their lives change immensely. When Kirill sends his assistant Sabina to see Tati about getting clothing I wanted to strangle him, it was very obvious that he was sleeping with her. It was heartbreaking to read what his daughter walked in on. There are more secrets revealed and twists I didn’t see coming. Tati learns things that could change her relationship with Kirill, will she be able to love him and trust him again? How will she react when she finally sees her father after so many years?

It was really great seeing all the characters from book 1 & 2 and the new ones. I really liked Ziven, and the other guards. I wanted to rip Sabina’s hair out, what a wench.

“Why can I not hate you? Huh?” he asks, looking almost angry, and definitely frustrated. - Kirill
Because we’re fated for each other, Kirill - Tati

I was on an emotional rollercoaster reading Dancing for the Badman. Happy, sad, crying, laughing, suspense. Kirill was hurt in the past and turned dark and cruel until he found Tati again. There is something about her that pulls at his heart and brings light back into it. This is a dark romance that does include cruelty and the sex scenes were hot. Hayley really pulls you in with her writing and you won’t want to put the book down until your done. I loved the ending and the sneak peek at Living for the Badman. I highly suggest you 1-click and get started today.

This series just keeps getting better.
I was absolutely hooked from the prologue. I loved how the story was told in present day, but flashed back to when they were younger. This helped me to see different sides of Kirill and Tatayana.

It took me longer to warm up to Kirill than Maxim and Radimir from the 2 previous books. It's not that his character is totally unlikable, but he was just more of a badman from the start than the others. But once he showed his softer side! Wow! He was amazing.

I loved Tatyana from the very start. She was strong yet completely vulnerable. You could see she would do anything she needed to to raise her beautiful daughter Kiska, but was not willing to compromise herself in the process.

Kiska! That is one spunky little girl. She is going to be a force to be reckoned with when she gets older. She definitely made some of the scenes.

Hayley Faiman did something totally unexpected in this volume of The Russian Bratva series. There was a crossover with her Notorious Devils MC series. This brought an interesting new element into this storyline, and I look forward to seeing if it shows up in future volumes of the ND series. This volume concentrated less on the business side of the Bratva and more on the relationship between Kirill and Tati, however it still had action and suspense.
I am definitely a sucker for the sweet guy, but these badmen are winning a special place in my heart. I am looking forward to the next installment to see how good the next Badman can be!

Book three is a bit lacking compared to the first two stories. The storyline is great but there's no excitement between Kirill and Tati. Dramatic and emotional events occur throughout the story but those moments seem to occur individually not as a couple.

This story is a four star read not because of the romantic angle or the main couple. It's a four star story because of the mafia angle. This story has the mafia angle on lock. Brutal, dark, and realistic each and every time!

Four stars!

I was given a free copy for an honest review. Mafia Romance is always dark and twisted but add in the Russian aspect and they seem even more ruthless. The past between Tatyana and Kirill is a torrid one, but the clearly are in-love with each other deep down. Can they over come the challenges of the past, the pesky FBI and the Brutality of Bratva life?

description

5 glorious stars!!

Ten years ago Krill Barshev found his forever with beautiful young Tatyana Orlova. Raised to be a ruthless Russian solider Krill kept that part of his life from his sweet Tatyana, until a FBI agent knocked on her door warning her of the dangerous man she loves.

Pregnant and alone Tatyana flees from Krill, afraid for her future and her unborn child. Believing that his woman and unborn child have died, Krill becomes the cold ruthless Bratva he was meant to be.

Raising her precious daughter the only way she can by working a pole every night, Tatyana regrets her decision to run but knows she has to live with her choices. Until one night her past finally catches up with her.

Haley Faiman has written an absolutely fantastic story! Dancing for the Badman is a gritty, dangerous, intense, raw and a captivating page turner!

The character development of Tatyana was sensational. She was such a young naive girl that had to grow up fast. Her impulsive decisions changed every aspect of her life, sending her down a lonely hard road that gave her few choices to survive. But she came out the other side stronger and wiser because of it. When confronted with Krill, she didn't cower, run or make excuses, she did what any mother would do and that was put the well being of her child first.

There was so many times that I was skeptical of Krill being anything but a cold, hard, brutal unforgiving man. At one point I wanted Tatyana to take her daughter and run. I thought he was so selfish and self centered because he only thought of his pain and refused to acknowledge his part of Tatyana's betrayal. But then you could see the small glimpses of warmth, love and heart that drew Tatyana. When he won her over, I was won over as well. I am a big fan of a sexy alpha dirty talking men and that fit Krill perfectly.

Hayley Faiman can write some intense, dirty sex. She had me ready to run out and buy a pole. This series keeps getting better and dirtier plus you can count on a little kink in this book.

This is one amazing author and a seriously brilliant story!

A love gone wrong by outside influences. When Tatayana is told what kind of man Kirill really is she runs. She has more to think of then just herself.

Kirill is such an alpha and wants things only his way. Tatayana knows what she did was wrong but at the time seemed like the only choice. When Kirill gets a tip saying that she's alive and he finally finds her, he brings her and their daughter back into his life. Tatayana has to decide if can she stay with him but if she doesn't their daughter stays.

You can feel the hurt that they both feel, see what they had in the past and what is building for the future. It takes a lot to get past their hurts from before. Kirill loves and he loves hard. He's loved Tatayana for years and even though he says that he hates her for what she did, he still loves her. Will do anything for her and their daughter.

Blurb was intriguing enough and as i am a sucker for second chance romance, i thought this was a good choice. Unfortunately, the writing was choppy and the plot seemed all over the place. Also had a few issues with the hero (which i was not a fan of to begin with). Tatyana continued to work as a stripper (just so she will have her own money) all while her baby daddy was a rich, russian mobster and kept claiming her as "his"...yea, not happening. Skimmed most of the book, only because I wanted to see how everything played out.

Meh, just an ok read.

I thought this one was an improvement over the first two books because at least in this one the heroine is not kidnapped or r@ped.

That said, as much as I love second-chance stories, this one had the secret/hidden story trope that I generally dislike. This one was no exception because it never made sense to me why she hid her child from him for as long as she did. It felt like it was there simply for early conflict and nothing else.

Kirill (hero) was an absolute asshat for the first chunk. His anger was understandable to a certain extent because Tatyana (heroine) hid her child from him for a decade.

The Russian language mistakes never failed to take me out of the story because it just felt so sloppy. One persistent error was the use of Byki, which is what bodyguards are called in the Bratva. Byki, is a plural word for bulls. Byk is the singular word for bull. The author used Byki when referring to one person instead of Byk, so those scenes basically read like "her husband left her with Alex as her bodyguards for the evening".

I get it that these books are self-published and they're free on KU so she's not making a killing on them but it just comes off as sloppy and disrespectful that she couldn't even be bothered to research before using another language.

I did enjoy the tie in to the Notorious Devils series so I'll give it that. That series was also pretty bad but at least it was more fun to read.

Perfect! I loved this book so much. Kirill may have not have been perfect or kind in the beginning, but I understood where his anger came from. He had thought the woman he loved was dead. I also understood Tatyana’s reason for running. She was a scared 18 year old and pregnant, and was fed a bunch of lies by a corrupt FBI agent. They both made mistakes, hers was running, but his was keeping some big secrets from her too. Tatyana had no idea who she really was or what Kirill was.
I loved everything about this story. The history and deep connection Kirill and Tatyana had, the secret child and second chance tropes, the little bit of ow drama- nothing serious though, and I especially loved that Kirill never once cheated on Tatyana or even contemplated it. He may have been angry, hurt, and felt betrayed, but she was his everything. And seeing Sergei reunited with Tatyana and his granddaughter was very special.

Another good and full story

These books just keep growing and more twists happen. I am enjoying reading this series. So everyone is included in this book with the focus on Kirill and Tatyana. It really makes it better with all the characters. Kirill even makes a deal with MadDog and his MC. The romance skinny is Kirill and Tatyana met when she was in college. They became enamored and planned a future. Unfortunately the FBI was after the Bratva and preyed on Tatyana. She was scared and ran instead of talking to Kirill first. The villains reach out to Kirill and threaten his unknown family. . . The story begins there. . . Read On!

Damn it....

I absolutely HATE that this book ended! Omg it was so f.king good! 10 stars!!! I think with any good book you never want it to end. I tried to take my time and savor this book but it was so damn good I couldn't put it down. In the books before we got a glimpse at the H and how he dealt with the loss of the only woman he loved and their unborn child. So just from reading that in previous books it made me so anxious to start this book. Just like this book with Ashley. It gives you little snippets that have you going crazy wanting more!
Overall a damn good book with all the feels and so many sexy scenes!

Kirill and Tati

DFTB took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. Kirill is the lead, he has loved Tati for years. He thought she was dead along with their child. Tati is alive along with their nine year old daughter. Kirill has found her and he will bring his girls back to LA to live with him. A few twist and turns, Sergei is Tati's father who left her and her mother when she was a small child. Sergei left them to protect them from the evil Ivan who was eliminated in book one. Kirill and Tati will have a rocky start, chemistry is not a problem, trust has to be earned. I highly recommend reading this series in order. Happy Reading 📚

These hot Russians!

I enjoyed the story of Tati and Kirill. These men are beautiful beasts. Hard and ruthless but incredibly sexy with hearts only for their woman and brothers of the Bratva. The story is chocked full of suspense blood and gore, not to mention plenty of steamy sexy encounters. The underlying story line of human trafficking is shocking and revolting but made for very intense reading that keeps you locked in until the end. The story continues with Ashley next. I can't wait!

Tati a Kirill story was amazing. Tatiyana was so very strong. I love that he was so mean to her until he realized. Yeah big man, now you need to make it up to her. I love it. SPOILER- I love how they were getting ready for the wedding, that was so sweet. Felt like I was there. I messed up by reading the Notorious Devils first but don’t regret it makes me want to read that one all over again...and I will. I don’t want this series to end. But on to the next one.

Loved forever

Kirkuk mourned his loss for ten years and could never forget. Tati lived in he'll those years afraid to live because she was misinformed by an ex agent. He wanted her for himself . He also had something against Kirill. But when Kirill received a tip that his Fat was alive and had a daughter he had to see. He made her suffer and didn't care that she had suffered all those years. But it all worked as it should and the prices were paid.

Ok. In the beginning it seemed that the same thing was repeated over and over. The h leaves the H because an fbi nformed her of his bratva lifestyle. She was 18 and pregnant and becomes a stripper. They are apart for 10 yrs and she has his kid. The H finds them and brings them home and he is understandably mad for awhile. I didn't like that she continued to strip after they got together. Just didn't seem like it fit the character. HEA.
