Joseph Powell is a writer and spoken-word artist and the author of the newly released poetry collection: The Spirit of Baldwin Compels Me, from Barnes & Noble Press. His other books include Poetry Man and The Writing’s On The Wall, and his poems have been featured in various online journals such as WORDPEACE and Vox Poetica. He is also the creator of the blog, The Joby Chronicle. He was a featured poet in the Emmy-nominated National Geographic documentary, Skin. He has performed in Los Angeles, Nashville, and at the Austin International Poetry Festival in Austin, TX, as well as the Tucson Festival of Books in Tucson, AZ. He He currently lives outside of Nashville, Tennessee with his wife, Cindi, and dog, Hendrix.
