You want to play rough? Be careful what you wish for.
Dahlia
Do I want to end up with a guy like Lucas? Hell no. I’m the type of girl who won’t take sh*t from an arrogant gangster like Lucas Luciatti.
When he looks my way, I should be scared. Instead, I’m curious.
I came to this town to escape, not to get pulled into another man’s grasp. If my ex-boyfriend was bad, this guy is drop-to-your-knees and open-wide-for-me, bad…
I will not be a mob wife. That is not in my plan. But I don’t know how long I can keep saying no.
Even if I did, you think he’d really give a damn?
Lucas
My two obsessions? P*ssy and the streets. For a guy like me, women are a dime a dozen. Sure, I’ve been told I’m a prick. The Don thinks I need to settle down. F*ck that.
Then I met her...
When I lay my eyes on that one woman who makes my c*ck harder than I can stand, I don’t f*ck around. I go after her as if she’s already mine. I’m not leaving without her taste in my mouth.
I won’t let anyone stop me, especially not that psychotic ex-boyfriend of hers.
I’ll show her how dirty I can get. I’ll stop when she begs. Maybe.
**Riding Dirty is a standalone bad boy romance novel with a HEA and absolutely NO CLIFFHANGERS!**
If you're a fan of mafia stories that are good, sexy, heartfelt, intense, steamy, addictive, emotional, suspenseful, and action packed with a dirty-talking sexy alpha, and some naughty thrown in, this is the book for you.
The concept was good. I felt like it was written by a high school student for English class, with some steamy scenes in it. I guess I'm just spoiled by the the mob book I've read.
Lucas is a debt collector for the mob and his father just happens to be the Don. When Lucas tries to find someone in a little town he didn't think he would meet someone like Dahlia. Dahlia is running away from an abusive ex and father of her daughter. She will do anything to keep her safe. Lucas wants her and she wants him too, but learning who he is she freaks out and doesn't want anything to do with him anymore, but when her daughter is missing thanks to Cade her ex, it's Lucas who saves her and then she realizes she needs and wants him. Lucas never thought he could have someone who could make him happy until Dahlia. Good story and I liked Lucas & Dahlia and Jen.
Riding Dirty was good. The storyline was interesting but couldn't hold my interest. I love Luca's character he was definitely a bad Mafia enforcer. His father is Don of the Luciotti Crime Family. At times he was sweet , hilarious and sex. He gave his h Dahila and good as gets. It seemed that certain details were skipped over events. It seemed the story was rushed. There is an HEA and no cliffhanger also two other stories from Ms. Hart included in Rising Dirty. I read both and enjoyed them both. Laura and Liam's it was a funny, sexy, dirty and raw. It is a story about giving a second chances and not jumping to conclusions Happy Reading!!
This is the first book I've read by this author and 1 star is for effort. I somewhat enjoyed the story line but it never grabbed me and pulled me in. The characters were vague and not developed enough. Will try another book by Kara Hart to give her the benefit of the doubt.

Y...U....M.... That is the only way to describe this book. (If I was only allowed one word)
She is starting over, she was not a good person before, but she is trying so hard to be a good person and most of all a good mother to Jen (her 6 year old) Jen is the only good and pure thing Dahlia has in her life. The only pure and good thing she ever did with her life. She escaped from a horrible person (Cade, Jen's father) and has started over in a small little town and things were boring....just the way it needed to be to start over. That is until he shows up. Now there is a hurricane of dark and snarky that has appeared driving too fast down her little street and about to cause an accident (what else does she do but shout at that jerk driving like that.) That hurricane's name is Lucas.
He is there on a job, he is the best in his family. He takes care of business and his car takes care of not allowing him to go anywhere. Stupid old thing, but it is his father's after all. Ugh! Not where he wants to be and definitely going to be a while for the repairs. Well the little cafe that is across from the repair shop seems to be calling his name. He walks in and lo and behold, that snappy feisty woman who was shouting at him earlier about driving to fast is the waitress.....well time for a little fun and spark.
They go together like gas and fire, but it works for them. Things are falling apart for her (she thinks) and falling together for him (business wise only) and that is just their second encounter. They banter back and forth, he initiates it as he is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. She makes snide snarky comments to keep herself from falling for him. Both get lost in the images of one another they have....delicious sparks to say the least. Things happen a little here and just when that seems to be getting fixed or changed, another surprise happens. All back to back to back. It is a never ending whirlwind of fun, spark, and dare we say it love. It is a hot mess one minute and oh no what is happening the next. Too hard to put the book down. Absolutely the most enjoyable book and characters. You will get lost to yourself and find yourself smiling, laughing, and gritting your teeth right along with these two.
This is a wonderful, intriguing and interesting book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. the story covers Dahlia who is a feisty take no nonsense kind of woman and a single parent (daughter - Jennifer)on the run from a abusive ex-boyfriend(Cade), she is working as a waitress to make ends meet. Lucas is the youngest son of the Don (Antonio) and is also a hitman. He has a elder brother called Ricky. What you will find in this story is drama, suspense, action, mafia, murder, drugs, torture, a hitman/son, debt collecting for family, a broken down car, meeting Dahlia, beating a man up for disrespecting a woman, a woman on the run, abusive ex-boyfriend, bringing up daughter up on her own, playing in park, memories, enjoy irritating Dahlia, Ricky waiting for him, going home for a meeting, fantasies, dinner/meeting, Ricky drunk, found Vinny the butcher, going back, asthma attack, Lucas stopping and helping, taking Jen to school and Dahlia to work, leaving, beating a man up for information on Cade Buchwald/Whiteman, inviting himself into Dalia's home, Jen watching TV, cooking with Dahlia, intimacy in kitchen, approaching Dahlia at work, taking her home, informing her he is Luciotti Mafia, running out, fit of temper, smashing everything, phoning Ricky, club, not interested in women, leaving, brothers fighting, going back, Cade trying to abduct Jen, finding Jen and taking her back to Dahlia, inviting Lucas to stay the night for protection, taking Jen to see fireworks, going to father, talking, Ricky shouting, going back, info on where Cade is, telling Dahlia he loves her, going to warehouse, injured, Ricky coming to help, saving Dahlia and Jen, talking, sending Jen to room, intimacy, talking to father, don't kill Cade, make him work, back with Dahlia, out of the game, selling house, want to take Dahlia and Jen with, a proposal, acceptance, married, emotional feelings, and hot rough sometimes tender erotic scenes. The story-line and plot are well thought out and written. The characters are well developed and entwine well with each other. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a well written mafia romance.
I really enjoyed both the storyline and the characters. Reflecting on the storyline, plot and sub-plots after finishing the book, kudos to author Kara Hart for pulling together a full slate of well-developed characters that each added substance and weren’t boring cookie cutter-type types thrown in to fill up space or make the reader feel like it was a checklist of things waiting to happen.
Hart did a magnificent job with the character of Lucas: his evolution from the start of the book until the end was brilliant. At times, Dahlia seemed a bit harsh towards Lucas, or at least more than seemed necessary considering that she really was attracted to him from the word ‘go’. Jen, Dahlia’s daughter, was a solid supporting character and added another layer to the storyline, as did Carmelo; I admit, I was a bit surprised by some of his actions as the story came to a head. Lucas’s brother Ricky – might he earn himself a story, too? I’m thinking Hart could really grind some gravel with that one – was hard to like, yet he and Lucas did have a solid brotherly bond, all things considered, and he experiences his own evolution as the story progressed.
The plot and sub-plot was relatable, I thought, and even though some pieces of the puzzle fell into line pretty straightforwardly, Hart also wove in a few surprises to keep things interesting. And the HEA/epilogue? Loved it with a capital L – and that’s all I’m going to say about it.
(Spoiler alert/just wondering) The only thing I wasn’t convinced was portrayed maybe as seamlessly as it could have been was the backstory on Dahlia. I didn’t necessarily get the impression that she had been a drug addict herself (which was how one of the guys Lucas knocked up for information on Cade described her), even though I was clear that Cade had physically abused her. I also must have missed the timeline since Jen could recall her dad taking walks with them yet Dahlia was supposed to have taken Jen away when she was a baby. One would think if Jen had witnessed her dad beating her mother so shamelessly, she wouldn’t have been quite so quick to go with him.

RIDING DIRTY(Luciotti Crime Family) by Kara Hart
Dahlia is the type of girl who doesn't take shit from anyone, especially a arrogant gangster like Lucas Luciatti. Hell no. Instead when he looks her way Dahlia should have been wary, but she finds herself curious of the man who seems to turn up where ever she is. She started a new life in a small town to escape the trouble in her life, not get pulled into another bad situation. But this guy is not just bad, his worse. She would not end up with another brutish man, even if he is gorgeous. That's not her plan, but staying away from him is becoming increasingly difficult. Dahlia doesn't know yet but she's as good as his. Lucas has other plans and he won't take no for a answer. He won't let anyone stop him from what he wants, especially her psychotic ex-boyfriend.
This was a great start for this new author. The storyline was interesting and intriguing, it had drama, suspense, action, and hot romance. I loved the characters who were quiet appealing. However, there were a few discrepancies in the storyline and the editing wasn't great. There were also some scenes in the book and the dialogue between the characters that didn't really work for me. But saying that, I still really enjoyed the storyline and I did love the characters!
This is about my 3rd or 4th Kara Hart book. I have to say that I'm enjoying them. The men aren't hardcore bad boys but they're rough around the edges & they have a heart. When they fall, they fall hard. The women are strong, single mothers, kicking butt & taking names. Dahlia got away from drugs, an abusive boyfriend & took her daughter to safety far away from the insanity. Living the best way she can & taking care of Jen, her 6 yr old daughter. She found a small town in the middle of nowhere Illinois that was far from him. Lucas is a made man in the mob. Suppose you could call him an Enforcer, he made sure to collect what was owed & erased those at the end of their road. Meeting Dahlia was the best thing he ever did. It shows him he can feel. Dahlia is attracted even though she doesn't want to be. He's in her diner every day messing with her head & body. She just wants to care for Jen & live life. Lucas just can't leave her alone.
Dahlia is a strong girl character with a complicated past. Adding to that is her 6 year old daughter Jennifer. She moves to a small town to get away from an abusive and crazy ex. She isn't perfect by any means and has her own demons to own in her past but you can tell her is devoted to being a great mom and making a different life for her daughter. She works at a little cafe but has no clue who she really works for. However, her world turns upside down when a sexy man speeds into town. He is danger and you can just tell. She tries to avoid him but fails. He wants a different life. He is the son of a Don but doesn't want to take over after he meets her and her daughter. His brother has issues too but really comes to the rescue when needed. You really think it might go one way but it doesn't. It is a good crime family tale. I am really wanting to read about what happens to Lucas' brother after all this. His story could be interesting.
This is a story about Lukas who is the son of a Don, a hitman for the Mafia and Dahlia, a girl hiding from her past and the man who is a threat to her and her daughter. Lukas land in the town where his car breaks down and ends up at a diner in town. There he meets Dahlia, she has a smart mouth and a bad attitude towards him but there is something the he just can't leave alone. Lukas keeps to his business all the while going back to this town and keeps showing up at the diner. Dahlia lives in fear that her ex will try and find her and come back for her and their daughter, he was abusive and hurtful to her. We find out Cade who is the ex is also the one Lukas is looking for. As the story goes these two fight against what is happening between them. She really has no idea who Lukas really is. See what happens as things become heated.

This review is from: Riding Dirty: Luciotti Crime Family (A Bad Boy Mafia Romance) (Paperback)
A good story with a mix of characters who mostly have ties to the mafia, there is some violence from which those involved seem to recover overnight. I did find it slightly odd that despite being beaten badly and having broken the knuckles in his hand Lucas didn't seem to have any bruises or pain, difficulty in carrying on as normal within hours. I love Kara's books but somehow this one is the first that I felt just lacked something, maybe it was to do with no after affects from fights I don't know. It is still a good book and I enjoyed it, I especially loved how Lucas interacted with Dahlia's daughter Jen.
Received this complimentary arc copy from the author for an honest review. Oh wow, this story was an absolute pleasure to read. Lucas Luciotti is mafia boss Don Antonio's son. A Gangster. Collecting people's money they owe, it is a hard brutal life. As Lucas drove quickly into town , his car broke down. Not noticing Dahlia, he just wanted it fixed but oh boy, did she give him an earful. What an explosive start to meeting someone. Their relationship to begin with was funny, explosive as she takes no bull from anyone and they can't keep away from each other. What they don't realise is that their lives will be linked in a dangerous way. Little Jen was a diamond in this story, so things didn't get too heavy. It was brutal at times but it had its sexy, hot moments too. Fantastic plot that makes you want to read it quickly. A fast paced story that you will love. I know I did.
Honestly, this book just dragged. I just got bored really quickly and shelved it thinking I probably would go back to it, however, now coming back to it I don't even remember the plot (and I am usually great at remembering where I left off on a book or books).
I'm pretty sure the h was a bitch and whiney and the H was an unredeeming asshole. Usually I can get past it if it had some hot sex or like interesting plot, but nope.
Again, I'm pretty sure that it's this book, I'm not sure. Because as I said before, kind of an unmemorable book for me.
I received this book free as an ARC for my honest review.
Dahlia a single mum to a 6 year old daughter Jennifer who fled from an abusive ex and ended up in small town Monroe. Lucas a hit man and son for the Luciatti family don. His father is wanting him to find a women and settle down, but that is the furthest thing on his mind, until he meets Dahlia and her daughter Jennifer. He arrives in town in town with a bang, Dahlia gives him a piece of her mind. He starts hanging out at the café she works and Dahlia has no idea who her boss is. Trouble with her ex Cade who is actually the man Lucas was in town to track down, with Lucas wanting to protect Dahlia and Jennifer. Quite a few twists in this book, and this is the 2nd book l have read from this author and it’s another hit for me.
Dahlia was finally getting used to her new life.. She knew he would find them some day but today was not that day but she knew it would come some day.... Jenn was safe at school no one could hurt her anymore. This small town has no idea what Dahlia was running from and as long as no one dug to deep she would be able to keep it all hidden until that car.... Why... Why didn't she just keep her mouth shut??? Lucas just got done with a job and was given another one... It lead him to this little town that he didn't want to be in. Why did she have to yell at me and distract me? This damn car is so old I knew it would break down at some point but why did it have to be this town and why won't she stop screeching??? She doesn't know why he is here but she is going to find out sooner or later.
I received an ARC for an honest review. I love all of Kara’s books, and this one was no different. This is a mafia romance. Dahlia and her daughter Jen escape an abusive relationship and hide to make it on their own. Lucas is a badass gangster and womanizer. The moment these two meet there is an instant and intense attraction. They are a good match together as Dahlia does not let Lucas away with his usual crap. There is plenty of hot, steamy action. Kara has done a good job in writing this story, and I am never disappointed in her work. She has the ability to pull the reader in from the very beginning, and they become enthralled in the story. I highly recommend her work, and I can’t wait to read whatever she brings to us next.
Lucas may be the Dons son and has done some evil things but inside is a kind and caring man, sigh. Psst did i mentioned he's HOT.
Sweet Dahilea went through so much with that jerk Cade, he will make you mad, he riled my feathers. The only good out of it is their daughter Jen.
Monroe, MI is where Lucas and Daleia will meet, lol. That town is only 30 miles from where I live so it was a shock to see that was where the story unfolds. Too cool.
It has Danger, Fear, Longing and Loving. Intense and Terrifying. A grab you and don't let go kind of read. And so much more.
Recommend mature audiences 18+. Strong language and sexual content.
Dahlia is trying to start her life over in a small town in Michigan after leaving the abuse of her ex along with her daughter Jen. On run one day she meets the guy that will change her life, Lucas Luciotti, who she chews out for speeding down the road. While at work at the café Lucas shows up to get something to eat and after can't get Dahlia off his mind. The reasons he is in the small town are so intertwined with her back story, yet at first neither of them know that. Lucas is the muscle for his dad, yet to read about him with Jen it will melt your heart, I loved this book from Kara Hart. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
From the title you would think it would be an erotic book with lots of sex, that is further from the truth. It's about Lucas who is a Mafia enforcer/soldier who goes after a guy who owes the family money. He meets Dahlia in a café where she works and at first they don't hit it off.
Means to say it made an interesting read. I really enjoyed the interactions with Lucas and Dahlia's little girl Jen. Turns out the guy he is after is somehow involved in Dahlias life.
Olympic thing I didn't like was that there were time jumps between what was happening, like from one sentence to the next. Didn't happen often.
Riding Dirty: Luciotti Crime Family is freaking awesome. I loved Riding Dirty. This book was so addictive that I couldn't put it down. The characters the story and the passion that is put into this book was so darn good. The author did not disappoint in this one. Dahilia doesn't take crap from anyone once she meets Lucas she feels like she should be scared but other than that she is curious. Lucas is a gangster who likes to play dirty and is a womanizer. Great book and can't wait to see what is in store from this author.

Dahlia is a young mother hiding out in a small town from a violent, abusive drug dealer, her ex boyfriend and the father of her young daughter. Lucas is the son of a powerful Don in Detroit that comes to the area looking for a runaway, double crossing thief. By chance, Dahlia & Lucas meet and their lives become entangled and life changing. It leads Lucas to rethink his life and make a monumental decision. Their adventure is interesting and will keep you pleasantly entertained. Very good Mafia romance. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Four stars.
This book had danger, loyalty, love, sacrifice, hot steam, a dangerous sexy bad boy and a strong no nonsense sexy woman. The author painted a vivid picture of how you would go to any length and sacrifice anything to protect family and someone you love. The love between Lucas and Dahlia was palpable, even though you felt how they tried too dismiss their feelings as just sex and lust. Exacting revenge on their enemies and realizing what was important they finally got their HEA.

3.5 -4 stars
This was an intriguing read with suspense, action, and a sizzling romance. The characters were great; I loved how Dahlia's mind was always in the gutter - she spent more time drooling over Lucas and having dirty sexual fantasises lol. Dahlia awakens something inside Lucas and for once he cares and wants to help.
This was an emotionally gripping read, which pulls on your heartstrings. However, it was really slow paced - so be prepared.
