Rate this book
Mik Murdoch has done a lot in his short career as a superhero. He's discovered the Cave of Wonders, battled giant glowing turkeys, and rescued a legendary creature. So when mysterious snow circles start appearing in the fields around Cranberry Flats, it looks like it'll be business as usual.

Except, a voice in his dreams is warning him to ignore the circles.

And when disaster strikes, Mik is faced with a number of tough choices - choices that make him begin to doubt himself and his decisions. Is he making things better or worse for his town? Is he solving the mysteries around him, or is he simply running around putting everyone at risk? Will the voices end up helping him or haunting him?

The most exciting Mik Murdoch yet! Opening with mysterious “snow circles” appearing in fields around Cranberry Flats, these unusual formations have the mayor drumming up a media circus and everyone wondering if aliens have visited their little town. But it's when Mik's dad takes a winter job helping build the new ski resort that things really erupt; an avalanche injures a worker. Mik feels personally responsible and becomes consumed with discovering what went wrong. It leads not just him but one of his friends into grave danger. Mik will need all his courage, creativity and determination to get through these new challenges with his friendships intact and his ethics unmangled. With interesting new characters and visits from old favourites; danger and bravery, mistakes and redemption, Plested has crafted a thrilling page turner any budding superhero will love.

It was great to return to Cranberry Flats. This was Mik's turn to get the inevitable Super hero angst. The book wasn't as great as the first two, it dragged a little in the second act, but I look forward to seeing where this series goes in the future.
