Uncle John rules the world of information and humor, so get ready to be thoroughly entertained. Read all about…
Homer the Greek versus Homer the Simpson The history of the bicycle When humans become hailstones Alternate definitions for common words Helen Keller’s wisdom The Silly Putty saga And much more!
A neighbor of mine would classify this book as a huge volume for your "Gee Whiz" file. Things like, "There are as many cells in your brain as there are stars in the galaxy" or "How many toothpicks can you make from one cord of wood?...75 million". It has a great section on the great San Fransisco Earthquake of 1906. Wonderful reading!
I love Audiobooks on CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UJBR lays out the facts & let's you decide. > Mothers of Inventions: Some women inventors. > The rise of famed wrestler Gorgeous George. > Benched! Brief stories of judges gone rogue on & off the bench. > The death of Princess Diana...and whether her death was accidential or murder. > The tale of a small Newfoundland town that played host to over 6,000 airline passengers & crew from around the world following the shutdown of air travel after the 9/11 attacks. ------------------------- I love UJBRs. Very educational stuff!
at first i was very hesitant to buy this book (i found it at a thrift store for 50 cents...) because it looked so hokey and i thought people would judge me seeing it on my book shelf next to all my other trendy reads.
but after a long moments hesitantce, i decided fuck what all my hipster friends thought. the price was right and i have a secret obsession with fact books and i definitly loved it.
its filled with all kinds of random goodies and nuggets of interesting knowledge. and its just a really great read for people who love random facts and pointless bits of information like i do.
and it is now proudly sitting on my shelf next to all the books i bought at urban outfitters last weekend. ;)
LOLOLOL This is your best companion in the bathroom with a lot of entertaining and digestible (pun intended) read. This edition has some heavy reference to US pop culture however (about a fourth of it)-- so some stories aren't quite clicking.
But I'm buying "Plunge into History" next. As Uncle John says, "go with the flow"!
This book is certainly full of ah-some facts! Standing at 522 pages, this edition to the series has all you could want from the series! The variety is perhaps even greater than before and you probably won't get board! It also has so articles on video games which I obviously enjoyed! If you like information and have some time on your hands, this book is for you!
This book and all they other editions that I have read have been awesome. They are both informative and a crack up. (pun intended) you'll enjoy them I'm sure.
The usual solid collection of facts, anecdotes and stories of all varieties. It must be fun just scouring for these little nuggets. I'm ready to move on to the 16th edition.
As usual full of great trivia, facts, information and just plain funny stuff. This gave me many great hours of enjoyment. I have read of the Uncle John's Readers and have enjoyed each one
