A fascinating examination of color! This book encourages you to look at color from different perspectives. For example, you may think that you hate white, but love it when you see "matte whiteness" on a chiseled cliff with lush green green grass atop and overlooking an ocean.

I have never liked earth tones and still don't even when different shades of brown are showcased using a piece of chocolate cake!

Also, I never considered myself a desert shade person, but there is a picture of various colored river rocks or stones in this book that does invoke an emotional response within me. I could see using some of these colors in a room!

Fabulous!

Lovely full-page photographs, with a short history of pigment and paint. Very pretty to look at as well as fascinating to read.
