3.5 Smut Scale Stars
Not my favorite AR but, as always, I love that they stick to their formula and continue to provide what they promise to deliver: SAFE alpha smut.
I always know what I'm getting with them...I just like some more than others...and that's fine by me.

Tempting the Law is by Alexa Riley. You probably already know by now how much I love these books. I was thrilled when I saw that this book is two parts, Tempting the Law, and then Curvy. How awesome is that!
In Tempting the Law, it starts out with Eden as a sixteen year old. I don’t want to give away too much but she is a victim and is saved by Coen. He literally catches her in his arms. A bond is formed but he stays away for two long years.
Two years later, he is surprised to receive a graduation invitation in the mail from Eden. She is eighteen years old and her parents are giving her a graduation party. He can’t stay away any longer. Something tells him he needs to go. That she needs him to save her again.
Is there insta-love and plenty of hot, sexy scenes? Of course there is. Did I love every word of it? Of course I did!
In Curvy, Flynn Long owns Breakstone Corporation which runs several smaller companies, one of which is a new acquisition, Curved Intimates, a lingerie line. But they are having trouble getting it off the ground. A new campaign is being launched with some new models. When one particular photo lands on his desk, everything stops. He can’t take his eyes off the face on the photo. He already knows, she is his.
Cali Carr is a plus size model. She is scheduled for a photo shoot for a new lingerie line. But when the owner comes in and starts directing the shots, it should make her nervous. But it doesn’t. All she can think about is the electric zing that runs through her every time he touches her.
“It’s as if my soul has finally found it’s other half.”
“I didn’t exist until the day I saw you.”
So we have a work-a- holic business man and a very independent but inexperienced in love woman who it seems were waiting for each other their entire lives but didn’t realize it. Flynn’s reaction to Cali is excessive, possessive, and completely over the top. And I loved it!
So this was two very short stories that can’t help but to fulfill the true love, happily ever after fix we all need now and then. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that the sexy scenes are steamers. Poor Cali in the second story. Flynn gives her so many orgasms she wonders if it’s possible to die from having so many. If it is, what a way to go I say!

Eden knew what she wanted and she worked to get it. She was smart enough to use other people's weaknesses to get things her way.
I like that the story wasn't overly sweet. The dirty talking and the sex scenes were hot. I especially like the semi exhibitionist element :p

Quick, HOT and easy reads are never terrible choices!! Tempting the Law was highly enjoyable and Coen and Eden's story held my attention right to the very end. My only complaint is that it was way too short... :))

Quick, sweet, sexy and just AR!!! I always feel like a child in a candy store whenever a new story from AR comes out. It's the small things in life that you much appreciate in life and one of them, at least for me, is reading Alexa Riley books. I always know what to expect from them and I also know that there is a very high chance that I'm going to love the story. As is the case with Tempting the Law.
I love Coen and how he felt for Eden. Completely OTT possessive and hot. What more could a girl want, right? And Eden, she comes off as this innocent young girl but man, she know what she wants and goes for it, like really goes for it. She's definitely a little sex vixen and Coen sure knows how to appreciate that, if you know what I mean. *ahem*
Anyway, since this story is so short I loved that we got to see some small drama, too. Her stepdad is one true idiot and I hate to say it but he makes politicians look real bad. And her mother, wow, what a waste of space... I'm just glad that Eden has now a real family and both her and Coen found the happiness they deserve.

I have to say, Alexa Riley is a queen of smut love stories! I love the idea for the story, only I wish for more.
When Eden was sixteen, she was kidnapped, and it was detective Coen, who came to her rescue. The incident has a big impression on both of them and connected them ever since. Two years later, Eden sent him an invitation to the graduation party. She knows what she wants, and she wants him. Coen is torn, he dreams about her, but he doesn't think he should have her. But what if she belong to him since that day two years ago and and is in danger, again? In this case nothing can stop him.
Tempting the Law is dirty and sweet, but really short, short story. We have here the age difference, barely legal, virgin heroine and alpha possessive hero. The forbidden fruit aura is strong, and, of course tastes the best. We can count on a dirty mouth and boiling hot scenes. Your mind will be bursting with dirty thoughts. And this is exactly for what you came here, right? You can be sure, you will get it.
Although Alexa Riley stories seem to be always the same, we can always find in it awesome stories and scorching hot scenes. Does it ever get bored? I do not know, it's certainly not today.

I really loved the concept of this book, however, it's too short for me to fully enjoy it.

Fast and sexy. Coen saves Eden and falls for her but she is too young so he stays away. When she invites him to her graduation it's on! It's typical OTT possessive alpha loving with miraculously skilled virgins that drive them wild. I realize you don't read AR for deep plots, but this one left me wanting. Eden did some things that seemed out of character for someone who was supposed to be inexperienced. There's also the matter that when they meet again, he is no longer a law man. Other than that, I got my "quick, hot, and just a little dirty" fix. Safety: AR heroes can only see one another when they meet. No rape or abuse explicitly mentioned but h was rescued from a kidnapper so it's open to interpretation.

This story was pure Alexa Riley smutty goodness!!!
Both characters were amazing, and Coen's Alpha hotness was delicious.
I wish the passage from the storyline to the epilogue wasn't so abrupt though. It felt that a bit was missing, and I would have loved a bit more epilogue. I'm addicted to AR's longer epilogue. That would have made this story beyond perfect!
Still a fantastic read nonetheless and couldn't love these characters and storylines more!!!! Coen and Eden's (love the names, btw) chemistry was undeniable as hot as it was sweet: pure AR perfection!!! <3

Tempting The Law by Alexa Riley is a very short read but I enjoyed every single minute of this sweet and sexy insta-love romance. If there is one thing that the ladies of Alexa Riley are known for is that they never fail to leave a smile on your face, whether it be a virgin, love at first sight, or forbidden romance trope. And in this quick light drama free romance, Alexa Riley whips up a sweet love at first sight romance.
“We fit together too perfectly, like I was made to be his and only his. It proves to me how this was meant to be. He was meant to save me that day I was taken. He was supposed to save me from this place, too. Take me away before something bad could happen. Protect me forever.”

There were a few weird phrases in this one.... My favorite being:

I do wish the story would take up more than 40% of the page count though, I've already read most of the "bonus stories" that are included in these so it's a bit annoying.
But overall, this is just what you expect from an Alexa Riley book - possessive mega alpha caveman who wants to fill her up and put his baby inside her as soon as possible BECAUSE THEN SHE CAN NEVER LEAVE HIM.
These stories are so ridiculous and I love them.

She is an awesome character and he is an amazing guy! They literally fall for each other, when she falls into his arms when he rescues her.
I will not give the story away only to say it was way way too short and I loved the cute epilogue.
Totally safe read as always.

I feel like all my Alexa Riley reviews are turning out to be the same...like the books themselves.
1) Uber-alpha male with a drive to possess.
2) Cute female with a drive to BE possessed.
3) Insta-love.
4) Hot-as-fck sex.
5) Babies.
I mean I keep reading them -ALL of them- so it means I really do enjoy these stories. Though that doesn't change the fact that I've been patiently waiting for the day I'd actually see some concrete plot and an actual storyline other than “they met, they fell in love, they fcked, they got married and had cute kids” in one of her stories, because that's the ONLY thing missing! I still love the overly unrealistic HEAs and everything...but a liiiiiiiittle bit more effort on the ROAD to that HEA would also be awesome.
Is that too much to ask?
OVERALL: Classic AR. You'll love it if you like her usual work.

This was a nice short story with everything I needed!

This is a genuine Alexa Riley little book: short, full of insta-love, with a sweet virgin, and an older sort of caveman, ready to take ownership of what's his.
What makes Tempting the Law special for me, is the subject. A stepdaughter, on her stepfather's radar, getting saved by her knight in shinning armor. It's a delicate subject for me, the stepdaughter-stepfather one, and I'm glad our hero came in between them just at the right time, and everything ended well. That's why I give it 5 stars with all my heart!
So, if you ever had problems with the daughter-father relationship, this is a nice fantasy, where the girl is saved.

OK, First....I LOVE this author and everything she writes:) Second, this was ANOTHER quick, hot n sexy read with her tradition OTT Alpha in which I LOVED!!!! Third, I am excited that she will be coming out with a full novel because I am in love with all of these quickies that for me, they end way too soon, lol!!!!! Oh and Fourth, the cover of this book is Over the Moon HOT:)

Every time I need a really good book, I know AR's books are a sure hit. And every time I finished their book, I'm satisfied and happy but it doesn't mean I don't want more because I surely do.
The story was about Coen (no age mentioned, maybe thirties or late twenties) and Eden, 18.
Two years ago, Eden was kidnapped and Coen saved her. He was a detective at the time and now, he owns a security firm, Black Guard Security.
Two years had passed but they never forgot each other. He received a graduation invitation from her. He came but he's still fighting his feelings for her, thinking she's still too young. So she made him jealous just to push him back and to make him break. It ddn't take long for him to snap and get her.
It's a short read and it has a nice epilogue. Marriage and babies. My kind of epilogue and I loved it! I just want more.

Unfortunately, i did not enjoy this book. The stories alexa riley writes have definitely an allure because she provides a safe story where the main characters do not cheat and stay faithful to each other even when they are apart and I have enjoyed plenty of those stories myself. I do not mind that they’re short or have insta-love but I noticed that with each new story especially the more recent ones there was less and less plot to the point where there was no plot at all. I really wish the author would spend more time developing the characters and adding a nice plot to the books.
Plus, there is a specific element that I find in many of the stories and I do not like.

I might have chuckled a little too hard while reading this. Case in point:
"Give me that cum juice, sweet girl, I'm like Popeye looking for his can of spinach. When I get that good stuff, I'm gonna take that pussy and smash it."
These are fun short reads but I can't ever take them very seriously. I know what they are meant for, but I can't help but roll my eyes at the over-the-top alpha male-ness thats happening.

I know exactly what I'm getting when I read a AR book. Why mess with the formula? It's working! Their work shouldn't have to change because all of a sudden readers have expectations for them to write something that's not their normal.

OTT- sweet- smutty- sexy- just what I expect from an AR book.
Coen rescues Eden and since then they have a connection. She invites him to her graduation, their starved- for- each- other- hearts meet- and cum filled sparks fly.
Do I wish it was longer? Yes!
Did I still love it? Super yes.
