Deep within withered trees and sealed behind cracked stone walls boils the age-old contempt of an enraged entity. Long ago, it was trapped there, unjustly, in its eyes. It waits, impatiently, for the moment the lock on its prison will be undone.
Weston Revidious is ambitious, though he hasn’t been given a chance to prove it yet. Despite the comforts of his life, he longs for more. He craves recognition, and can you blame him? Whose desire is it to carry out the deeds of his superiors each and every day? Certainly not Weston’s, and when he enters the Cursed Forest, his only concern is to add excitement to his life. Mission accomplished.
In Spiderhunter, readers can expect an immersive, gripping story filled with realistic and interesting character. Set in a medieval time period, magic, creatures, and battles will confront the protagonists on their quest, and with each character's different opinion comes a different outlook on the situation.
Robe amasses every imaginable detail in their arsenal to breathe life into the words before our eyes. This is arguably, in my opinion, one of the most profound strengths as a writer. It is apparent that they are fully aware of the world as it interacts with and relates to their characters, and the magnitude of concert, specific detail helps create real magic on the level of the line. While the number of action-packed scenes in this book is certainly higher than any I’ve read before, the detail that Robe pours into them leave me, the reader, simmering in my bloodthirst and yearning for more, more, more! :)
