It was supposed to be the standard mission. Evacuate the target from the city. Quick. Easy. Uncomplicated. Of course, life never quite works out like that...
Bear shifter Connor "Bravo" Lavine knew that it was different the moment he saw her eyes. She wasn't supposed to be there. His intelligence report had said there was only one to rescue. But with the mysterious Agency closing in, he knew he couldn't leave her. They would kill her, simply for being there. As a Sentinel, a guardian sent to help protect King City, he couldn't let that happen, even if it meant breaking the rules...
Madison Rychel had never really fit in. With no friends, swimming in a pile of debt, and only her father as company, every day hopelessness crept closer and closer. That all changed when the masked man showed up at her door, telling her she had to leave right then and there if she wanted to live. It was cliche and ridiculous, but when the fighting starts, Madison realizes he isn't lying.
Thrown into a world she never knew existed, Madison finds herself feeling vibrant and alive for the first time in a long time, especially with the big sexy Sentinel at her side. She can't get him off her mind, even as the pair race to get her to safety. When a mole in their group betrays both Connor and Madison, she finds herself alone, cutoff from the man she cares for.
But Madison isn't as helpless as she seems, and her bond with Connor is stronger than either of them know. Will it be enough to overcome their enemies, both foreign and domestic?
Amelia Jade loves to write the stories of tall, growly shifter men and the women who come to love them. Living out in the back-country near the mountains, she keeps her own alpha male close by, to keep the bears away and keep her warm. In her down time (which is rare), she loves to read science-fiction with a dash of fantasy. You can often find her curled up in front of the real wood-burning fireplace, her nose firmly buried in a book or her favorite ereader. The cold can't bother her there!

Shifters in King City are under attack by The Agency. They are kidnapping shifters and draining their blood to create a serum, The Underground is a paramilitary group of shifters that are trying to save their kind. Connor aka Bravo is second in command of his group. An extraction goes badly when one of the subjects is a half blood female that they do not have orders to remove. Her father refuses to leave Maddy behind and Connor becomes her designated savior.
Connor had noticed Maddy earlier on the street and was fascinated by her. He is surprised that she is part of the rescue mission. The two of them become separated from the main group and must fight off the Agency.
This was an interesting book that brought in information about using shifter blood to create extreme agents. The goals of the Agency are short sighted an nefarious.
Connor's relationship with Maddy is tender at first, then hot then admiring. She proves herself to him and the Underground in a very big way.
Of course there is betrayal and greed involved along the way. I had my suspicions before Connor and Maddy revealed it but it did not distract from the story.
Connor and his team the Sentinels, are trying to get other bear shifters to safety when during one of his rescues he falls a half-bear shifter Madison the daughter of his target. They get separated from his team and have to face some of the agency's fighting force. While they are in hiding in a safe area they find out that a trusted member of the underground group trying to save the shifters is actually a spy for the Agency. In the ensuing fight Madison inject herself with a serum with surprising results. This was a wonderful book with just enough adventure to keep me wondering and a hot romance to keep it spicy.
I got this book free for giving a review. Connor works for the Underground, a shifter organization, against The Agency, a human organization out to kill all shifters. Connor meets Maddie when he s trying to rescue her father and move him out of town to safety. This is a book full of suspense. Will they and the Underground survive ? Jade keeps the reader on their toes trying to find the mole in the Underground. It's a great read.
This was a good book and while it came to a conclusion the ending left some things hanging. If you want to commit to the entire series then get this book. I did not like it enough to continue at this time.
Loved this book enjoyed the characters and the storyline and I can't wait to read more in this series so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
I must say, I didn't finish this one. It is filled with violence and that's just not my cup of tea. When Connor isn't lusting after the girl, then he's killing someone; and the author gives some rather gruesome details of this. So I bailed on this book. Yes, I've read a lot of paranormal romance novels, and let me say - this one was definitely more violent than most. Not a book I would recommend.
Very interesting bear shifter story! Mixed in romance, a big strong hero, his heroine, different factions fighting it out and you have a definitive winner!
I enjoyed this first installment of the agency, the characters were likeable, the action brought a new twist to things. I look forward to moving on to the next adventure.
I received this for a honest review. I just love the books concerning the characters of Genesis Valley. We have met some many amazing characters Now here we see a new series spring up concerning Genesis Valley.
Connor wants to help other shifters. He is working hard to save them from something called The Agency. The Agency is an evil organization. The Agency wants to eliminate the shifter race and give humans the perks that shifter have. The passion that Connor has to help his race is amazing. He puts his self on the line for the cause. He would lay down his life if need be if it meant saving another shifter. He is brave and so courageous.
I did get tickled when Connor laid eyes on Maddy. I almost believed his heart skipped a beat and the surprise that he must of felt to see that she was the daughter of one of the shifters they were suppose to save.
Maddy felt lost. She felt she did not belong. She was going thru life hoping to fit in. She was suppose to be looking for a job but her father did not understand the challenges that she faced on a daily bases. Now Maddy even though she was part shifter could not shift. No one really knew why some of the female shifters did not shift but that is just the way it was.
Connor will find out that Maddy is so hard headed. She is falling for Connor. The problem is Connor does not have plan giving up what he is doing and going back to Genesis Valley and it is to dangerous for Maddy to stay with him. They are at a cross road and it is killing them both that it has to be this way.
There is a mole in in the group that Connor is working for. Seems like the Agency is always a step a head and knows every more they are getting ready to make. Connor is determined to get to the bottom of things and find out who the mole is.
This is a great story and there are a few surprises a long the way.
I loved this book. I was hooked from beginning to end. You know those scenes in movies where you find yourself leaning closer to the screen because you're so in the moment that you forget it's not real? I found myself like that for most of the book.
I loved Connor, with his bad-ass 'I could kill you with my pinky and I'm just being humble about it' attitude. He's part of a small group of bear shifters that extract other shifters that are in danger. What he's not expecting when he walks in the door of his latest assignment is to find a human. Rules or not, he just can't leave her behind. He's just not sure if its because its the best plan of action or because he can't get her brown eyes out of his head.
Madison has always known about shifters, she was raised by one after all. Being a half-blood was never a problem for her. She long ago accepted that she wasn't like her father, whether she wished it different or not. Knowing all that she still felt like she didn't belong. She didn't expect a man in a mask to barge into her father's apartment, or for her father to be completely unfazed by it all. She certainly wasn't ready to run for her life, let alone fight for it. How could she know that the man in the mask with the piercing blue eyes would be the one to finally make her feel "normal"?
This book is literally action-packed, I swore I could hear the bones breaking in my mind. I wanted to cheer every time one of the Agency bad guys was taken out, and our hero persevered. Amelia Jade knows how to tell a story. The writing and dialog was great, I had no moments of "what the hell is going on". This is my first book by Amelia and I can guarantee it will not be the last. I'm ready for book two of this series, right now.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Sentinel: Bravo Bear(The Agency #1) by Amelia Jade
Connor 'Bravo' Lavine is a bear shifter and works for an organisation that extracts shifers who are in danger in King City. Whilst on a routine mission, Connor lays eyes on the most beautiful woman, tall and curvy. There was just something about her that drew him in, but he had a job to do and couldn't be distracted. The last thing he expects, is to see the woman who stood out in the crowd, with their target. All of a sudden life goes from been uncomplicated to complicated in a blink of an eye. His a Sentinel, a guardian sent to help protect the city, he needs to keep his mind focused. But when his team are forced to split up during an attack, all he can do is keep her safe and get her to safety.
Madison Rychel has never felt like she belonged anywhere, no friends, a pile of debt, and her father as her only company. That all changes when her life is turned upside down, she's thrown into a world she never knew existed. With the Sentinel at her side, she finds herself feeling vibrant and alive for the first time in a long time. But it doesn't last long, when someone in their group betrays both Connor and Madison and she finds herself cut off from the man she's come to care about. But Madison isn't as helpless as she seems and her bond wth Connor is stronger than either realise. Will it be enough though to stay alive and overcome their enemies?
This was a very enjoyable read, I loved it. It has drama, suspense, action, and romance. The storyline was both exciting and captivating, and the characters were awesome. The story was easy to follow, and flowed smoothly. Overall a very entertaining read!
Connor is a bear shifter. He's putting his fighting skills to work as part of the extraction team working with the underground to move endangered shifters from King City to Genesis Valley.
While doing reconnaissance for their next target he is startled by a pair of beautiful brown eyes that belong to a beautiful blonde. He tries to refocus on mission planning, but his thoughts keep returning to those brown eyes.
Maddie sees a guy staring at her and thinks he's a creep, a creep with striking blue eyes, but still a creep.
At the next extraction the team is surprised by the shifter target being with his adult half-shifter daughter. Startled brown eyes stare into blue ones again and the extraction plans must be altered to include Maddie.
Their escape does not go smoothly and the Agency is on their trail. Connor falls behind and Maddie fights the others to go help him, so they both get left behind. Now, Connor must find a way to get Maddie out of the city while running from the Agency and their newest weapons. To make the situation worse, Connor is sure there's a mole in the Underground.
I really enjoyed this book although I was sometimes puzzled by Maddie's choices. Maybe more explanation about the attraction between Maddie and Connor or more back story on Maddie would have helped. Still, the plot is action-packed as Maddie and Connor learn about The Agency and try to reveal the mole. The story is a good basis for a new series with lots of new problems and mysteries to solve. Many new characters are introduced to the King City part of the world as well.
I received a review copy of this book from the author.
This book is a part of an extension of the Genesis Valley storyline. The fight against the Agency is continuing with more of the diabolical things happening to shifters being revealed. I really loved that Maddison was so smart, centred and capable of putting others ahead of herself instead of doing a TSTL antic. THEN later in the book she goes and does what other stupid heroines before her have done, a TOO STUPID TO LIVE act. She had no idea what the serum would do to her. Luckily it all worked out very well for everyone and Maddy came across as a brave risk taker rather than stupid. Conner is a trained warrior and was a really nice guy who wants to do his absolute utmost to protect shifters that are being harmed and killed. He was nothing but good to Maddy. Lots of story and action but very light on the romance and them getting to know each other. Sex but not romance. I was really shocked that Flint turned out to be a baddie. An interesting ending to take us even further. An enjoyable next instalment in this overall series of Genesis Valley themed books.
The intrigue continues regarding the mysterious Agency, and their experiments injecting shifter blood into humans to create super strong humans. While trying to get Maddy and her dad to safety, Connor and Maddie become seperated from the rest of his team, which leads to a wild and dangerous attempt to join Maddy's dad. To save Maddy, Connor has to continually fight the superhumans, and almost dies. Maddy has to keep running, but the Agency keeps finding them. Now they have to find the traitor in their midst. In spite of not having any shifter abilities, Maddie was tough and strong, and does what she needs to do to help Connor. Boy was Connor fearless. The number of times he is critically injured and lives, is incredible. What is the future for the shifter races, as the Agency is trying to eradicate them?
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a fast paced story with a good balance of romance and action, and kept me hooked until I'd finished it. I really liked Maddy and Connor's story and seeing them fall in love, all while dealing with everything that was thrown at them, including figuring out who the traitor was. I was really happy to see Maddy and Connor get their HEA.
This was a great start to the new series, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what the author has in store for this series, and hope that she keeps with the theme of her previous books, with all of our couples getting (and keeping) their HEA. I know I stress this a lot, but nothing ruins a book for me faster than seeing a character I like, die. I can't wait to see some of the supporting characters (hopefully) get their own stories in the future!
If you are wanting to read something exciting and edgy, this is the book. The flow is smooth. Connor aka Bravo is on a mission to rescue shifters from King City. He notices a girl on the streets. When they go for the rescue its her dad they are saving. During the escape Maddie and Bravo get separated from the group and have to fight. They get away to a safe house. During another attempt to leave they find out The Underground have a bigger problem than they knew. Maddie is a very smart, brave woman. She gets in there and fights with Bravo and loves him also. They find out there is a spy in The Underground and that The Sentinel are more advanced than they knew. The was an awesome book. Very action packed. I can't wait to read the next book. I asked for this book and received it for an honest review.
What can I say? Ms. Jade has done it again with the start of this series.
Madison and Connor are two halves of a whole that keep this story flowing smoothly. Madison is human for the most part but has never fit into that world comfortably and could not really understand why she did not.
Connor grew up in a world where shifters were not welcome and tolerated. He was not your boy/bear next door more like a hoodliam until he met the shifters of Genesis Valley there he found a home.
I will not spill more of their story so that you can enjoy this book completely. I highly recommend reading her other series the "Jade Crew-Ridgeback Bears" and "Genesis Valley" these are stories not to be missed.
This is the first book in the series, and what a wonderful one it is. You need go ahead and get this one, so you will be ready for the next one. Even though it is a new series, it stems off of the Jade Crew and the Stone Bear series. I loved them, so I recommend for you to read them too, but you do not have to to read this one. Amelia Jade pulls you right into the story at the beginning, and keeps you there until you finish. She also does such an excellent job developing her characters that you feel like you know them well. There is lots of chemistry between Connor and Madison, and at the same time, there is a well written story of love and suspense. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review, and I do recommend if.
Sentinel: Bravo Bear, The Agency, Book 1 By Amelia Jade deserves 5 stars and a WOW.
Bear shifter Connor "Bravo" Lavine and half-blood Madison "Maddy" Rychel are the two main characters of the story. Read to find out how Maddy will make major changes to the Underground.
Beware! The Agency has some new advances against shifters. Will the mole be eliminated before more lives are lost?
I highly recommend “Sentinel: Bravo Bear”, The Agency, Book 1 By Amelia Jade.
Amelia Jade writes a great series of hot sexy love stories. Each of her series are all reader could ask for. Genesis Valley series is just good as her other series: Genesis Valley shifter: Stone Bear series, Bluff Bear Series & the Ridgeback Bear Series. Connor & Madison have to overcome alot of betrayal by the leader of the Underground ( Flint). He was working with the Agency from the beginning. Selling out shifters & their families who Connor & his team were trying to save & smuggle out of King City to Genesis Valley. Please try some off these books. They are great love stories & mystery to be solved.
I thought I'd try another book from this author because I couldn't get past the awkward writing of her dragon series that I tried, but I'm having the same problem with this book too. Most of the reviews seem pleasant so I'm confused. Nevertheless, I can't get over the awkward writing and lackluster descriptions, so I'll go back to read some T.S. Joyce shifter stories. If anybody has any other shifter series recommendations, please let me know.
In reading this book it seems like I missed reading some other books. It referred to other characters that weren't in this book. I liked how this one ended. It was an HEA with a few sex scenes. This story is about Maddy and Connor. They are in the Underground trying to save shifters. They are fighting against the Agency who want the blood of shifters for serums.
This is a story about Madison and Connor. It is also about the Agency who is fed info by a traitor mole. You may be surprised when you learn who the traitor is. It is a great book with fighting, Espionage, and the evil agency. The agency is trying to wipe out all the shifters and their methods are pure evil. Enjoy!
