Milana Raziel is the exotic pen name for a not so exotic, peripatetic litigator who has had a life-long love hate relationship with words. Mostly love, but she hated the fact that adjectives and adverbs were frowned upon in her chosen profession. After years of making up stories in her head to pass the time in really boring depositions, she decided to get her adverb on and try committing them to paper.
We'll see how that works out.

The Lesson is Milana Raziel’s debut into publishing. This short story is fan-fiction of C.D. Reiss’ Submission Series; it is being published as part of Reiss’ Drazen World.

Lena Corradi is an art retrieval specialist. She uses her knowledge of art and her wicked negotiation and bargaining skills to return precious works of art to their rightful owners. She’s smart, sophisticated, and sensual. At Penn, the baseball team knew her as Missy. Her intelligence and lack of funds led her to her a tutoring job with the baseball team. Whether they needed her assistance or not, all the players knew and respected Lena.

When the team’s star, Jonathan Drazen, walks into a dive bar that Missy frequents, the cold winter night gets a little warmer. Jon is helping with the NCAA recruiting weekend, and he has been assigned to Dashiel Beaumont Warren who has little interest in the cold winters at Penn. The three make the most of the evening with pithy banter and dirty dancing that leads to a wickedly hot late night. In fact, when Lena sees a magazine article about Jon, memories of that night flood her thoughts.

The Lesson is a particularly good read. The writing style is smooth and evocative. The use of reminiscing to tell the main character’s Drazen-linked story is quite creative. I enjoyed the Ms. Raziel’s storytelling skills; her tale has a good, natural flow. I look forward to future endeavors by this new author!

Let me tell you what I love about this story......everything. Maybe story is the wrong word, maybe tale is better. It's a moment in time. A moment in time that shapes the future of at least two of the leads. And it's a perfect moment in time. Very well thought out and executed. There's no happily ever anything, but that's what is expected, so well done. Very well done Milana Raziel!

Everything from the connection to the passion to the sexuality of this menage was delicious and I am totally and irrevocably in love with Messalina Corradi <3 *happy sigh*

The Lesson is a fanfic spinoff of one of my fave series ever, (Songs of) Submission by CD Reiss.

The author of this tasty little morsel, Milana Raziel, writes this story in 3 POVs that flow seamlessly into each other. We have the college senior baseball star be-still-my-heart, Jonathan Drazen, his friend and teammate Beau, and Missy, the team's tutor. One night, one cold, snowy night these 3 POVs take their hot and dirty moves from a dive bar dance floor back to Jonathan's place. Oh, by the way, I just had to look up what a le Corbusier LC4 Chaise looks like....um hmmmm! The Jonathan presented here was so believable as the Dominant. And Beau as the consummate athletic hunk had a supporting role played out to perfection. Missy finished out the trio that complimented both of these young men and I was in heaven.

I loved The Lesson and want to thank the author for writing about the self assured dominant Jonathan that I fell in love with in the original series. She was spot on! I'm giving this remarkable novella 5 stars!

Couldn't put this down!!!! Great addition to the Drazen World Novellas!!! The idea to write about Jonathan in his college days was perfect!! The "special" guest star (with a little name adjustment)=freaking brilliant! The writing which was from three points of view was filled with fast quipped dialogue! LOVED the tie ins to CD's books!!! READ THIS!!! :)

"Eve with a whole bushel is apples level temptation"

"He's smiling at me. It's like the sun came out and I'm sunbathing naked. I feel it everywhere."

"Actually I have seven. The prissy one. The artsy one. The kinky one. The holy one. The earthy one. The missing one. And the bossy one. Yep. That's all of them."<---LOVE THIS!

A hot little treat, especially for the fans of the series!

Miss Raziel offers readers another look into favorite C D. Reiss' characters and some new ones with a deliciously naughty story that is sure to raise the heat. Missy and Jon's chemistry is undeniable, and this new author does a great job delivering it - in and out of the bedroom.

Quick, naughty, and 100% delicious.

Jon Drazen the Dom

OMG! Spending a night with Jon Drazen, the college senior, made me want to spontaneously combust! The tryst does NOT disappoint! The author's style was impeccable: witty banter, minute details, and an adoration of CD Reiss and the Drazen family were all so prevalent! I didn't want the night to end!!

I love CD Reiss's stories. The Songs of Submission series, starring Jonathan Drazen and Monica Faulker were like nothing I had ever read before...sophisticated, dark, and delicious. So when I heard that CDR had a spin off series planned for characters in her Drazen World, written by authors other then Herself...I was afraid...how can they do that universe justice?
Milana Raziel is a new-to-me author. Never know what to expect from a newbie author, but I was IN!
She gives us a snippet in Jon Drazen college days.
And she NAILS IT!!!
Holy mother of goddess!! Right from the get go, I fell in love with our heroine, our narrator, Lena Corradi. She's a woman that is comfortable in her own skin. An art retrieval specialist. Smart, sophisticated, and confident. I lurved her hard (no pun intended) two chapters in ;)
It's her voice we hear as she recollects her college days and time spent with Jonathan S. Drazen III, and his prospective team mate, Beau, which is triggered from a picture she sees of him and his new lady love, Monica, while perusing magazine tabloids in an airport lounge during a lay-over.
Author Raziel did not miss a beat at capturing what a younger Jonathan Drazen might have been like... Well done, dear author! Plus, her sensual words kept the story flowing, no silly expectations between consenting adults, no HEA or HFN (thank you). This was a hot little number to be sure!

Well if this isn't a saucy little read.

Our heroine, Lena Corradi, while finishing an assignment as an art retrieval specialist, is stuck in a nine hour layover. With coffee and a stack of frivolous magazines for company she comes across an article about D. Beaumont Warren and pages later a pic with non other than Jonathan Drazen causing her to reminisce about a hot and sexy evening that she shared with them 10 years earlier.

Jonathan, baseball star extraordinaire for Penn, is in charge of their latest recruit, Beau Warren and when the two stop into her Saturday night haunt Kovak's Tavern Missy's plans for the evening take a decidedly sexy turn. Jon and Beau join Missy and their night begins with some entertaining banter and pretty funny internal musings by Missy. The three end up at a dance club and that's just the beginning of their very hot night together.

A steamy, well written story and another terrific tale in the Drazen World Novellas

Where do I start?

1. This is a debut novel >_< How?? Congrats because this author did an awesome job. I can't believe it! Wow

2. I want to read more about Missy. What an interesting character. I must say the beginning was kind of unnecessary for the story: a night with Jonathan Drazen. But I would love love to read her story now, presently. She's very interesting, with an intriguing career. So please please think about it ;)

3. Jonathan f*cking Drazen...enough said...or maybe not ;) this was hot hot hot! I loved the banter, I loved the sweet moments because there were sweet moments, and I loved the dominant and certain attitude he showed. He was very well represented by this author.

Very good :) Loved it!

A promising debut cause the way she writes is amazing easy to get along and with many descriptions.....but.....

I didn't like it like at all..

It confused the hell out of me the last scene is totally not what I expected when I read the first pages...

I was like how the hell did it went from them leaving together in the end to that be a story tale about a memory of her college years

Sorry I didn't get it at all

I think if the story line had a little more work would be perfect, with out that is a story of an awesome hook up (and don't get me wrong I am all for a good hook up with lot of sweat and high pinched cries involved) but gives you the impression that it was something more than that and it doesn't explains us how did it go from that to nothing

Wow. I find it hard to believe this is the first story written by this author. I loved everything about it: the characters and the story, the setting and the style.
Missy has a chance encounter of a lifetime with a then younger Jonathan Drazen and Dashiel Beaumont Warren.
Once I started , the pace picked up fast and it was certainly a very interesting and very dirty read.
I loved this side of Jonathan and the experience both him and Missy gets in the world of sex and in finding their true nature and call.
I enjoyed Dash a lot and it was a nice surprise finding him so close to Jonathan.

This is my favorite fanfic story. Sexy smart and successful Lena finds herself reminiscing about her college years. A steamy encounter with the commanding force that was young Jonathan and Beau a hot new baseball recruit. Beau is only to happy to follows J's lead, but gets lost in his powerful wake. Poor kid. Missy? Let's just say she's a lucky lucky girl!

Loved this passage: "I felt as if I was trying to catch lightning with my bare hands, and I would do anything to achieve it."

Great take on younger Jon Drazen

I loved getting a peek a young Jonathan. Ms. Ezekiel clearly has a good grip on his character and absolutely added more excellence the Drazen World with this contribution.

This book gives us a glimpse of Jonathan when he meets Missy after a memorable evening. Their chemistry is off the charts and a new world opens up to them. Missy is the teahcer's aid for the baseball team and Jonathan is the star. They meet off campus has her dom wants her to explore outside of her normal environment. Jonathan's message to her is clear, he wants her and he sees her submission as a gift. A really good book!!!

The beginning took a little while to fall into. The strikeouts and re-wording were distracting, though they didn't last throughout. I did enjoy the scene though (a lot), and the ties to the Drazen World which we are all reluctant to let go of. There were a lot of little details that made me smile (Coach DeMaio, etc.). It was definitely hot enough to recommend to other readers.

Ah, me . . . Jonathon in his college years. The Lesson is a little menage and a lot sexy. Beautifully written, I quickly became invested in the Lena's tale and left wanting more when I realized I'd reached the end.
