A Worthwhile Read, But Also Lacking
I enjoyed the book. It provided some good insights, especially regarding how to obtain good EVP results. The investigation stories were interesting..
I don’t agree with other reviews that say the author overused the Queen Mary experiences. Each time she brought up the Queen Mary, it was about different investigations and different aspects of paranormal investigation.
My big criticism is that the author assumes readers already know the various equipment that paranormal investigators use..She talks of equipment but doesn’t always describe how it works. At least a glossary describing the specialized equipment should be included at the end to make this book a more useful reference.

Is a MUST for every para-normal enthusiast
No matter if you are slightly curious about the paranormal or a full blown paranormal fan. Kitty takes you on her investigations and you feel as if you're right there with her. The knowledge that she passes on is invaluable and so important, I can't say how important and how much those in the field should take heed.

The best book on communicating with the dead! This book is written in a way that the average person can understand. As a sensitive myself I agree with many of Kitty's approaches. I'm am trying to improve my communication skills as well as try to understand how and why some areas are more active than others.
I've gained a better understanding of the vibrations and how to open up to them. One of the most important things to consider when trying to communicate with spirits is how to protect oneself. Kitty explains just how important this is and why. She also stresses that the spirits deserve respect. Also like Kitty, I believe that documentation is very important but helping spirits who are trapped here to cross over is my main reason for honing my skills.
Kitty Janusz covers all aspects of paranormal communication. She starts with the basics and works on from there. She reviews some of her experiences and breaks them down. She also mentions different styles used by different investigators. I have also been listening to her podcasts that she posts on Twitter.
If you are serious about communicating with the other side in a respectful manner, I highly recommend starting with this book. If you already have developed skills this book will help you fine tune them. WHEN THE DEAD SPEAK, is a win / win read.
