In 1979, four boys from Indiana surprised all of Bloomington by winning the Little 500, a race put on by the University. They were allowed to join the race with the expectation that a college fraternity would win. The boys surprised them -- and themselves. Against all odds, including a crash, poor equipment, and inexperience, they won the trophy that the frat boys thought they had locked up. Since those years long ago, each boy went his separate way. This year, partly by happenstance and partly with intent, the boys each had a son or daughter who was participating in the Marymoor Grand Prix, an annual event held at the Jerry Baker Marymoor Velodrome in Seattle. This book tells what happened, since the Little 500 race and in the Madison race at the Grand Prix.
