Fat Series #2

Bully No More

Rate this book
Fat. Cow. Chubby. Chunky. Those were just a few names Kurt had called her growing up. He was her bully, and he didn’t care. One chemistry assignment changed everything. Kim refused to give in to him, so he had no choice but to leave. Ten years later, Kim’s stubbornness gives him the chance to show her that he's no longer her bully.

Kim didn’t like asking for help, but Kurt made an offer she couldn’t refuse. She didn’t want to be the girl that fell for the man who hurt her. She was stronger than that. Kurt was not that guy anymore, and no matter how much she tried to fight the boy, this was a man.

Can two complete opposites find love? Can Kurt prove that he’s no longer a bully, and is in fact the perfect guy for her? Will Kim take that chance?

**This is the story of Kim and Kurt from Fat.

She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Well this book was better than the hot mess that was the first book in this series. Just SLIGHTLY though. The dialogue is still bloody awful and juvenile. The book can be summed up by the following...

Kim: He bullied me..whine..whine..whine...can I trust him...I'm 28 and never even been kissed...giggle...he bullied me...whine...whine...whine.

Kurt: Fat Cow..Chubby...I was an asshole...I'm sorry...I'm sorry...I'm sorry...How many fucking times am I going to have to apologize...I'm a changed man...I'm a changed man...I fucked everything that walked, but was TOTALLY thinking of you Kim because I ALWAYS lurved you...I was an asshole...I'm sorry...I'm sorry...I'm a changed man...

Everyone Else: Kurt is a changed man...we know he bullied you...Give Kurt a chance...Kurt is a changed man...

Kim and Kurt to Elsa and Noah: How is the baby making going...huh...huh...how is the baby making going???

Then.."Let's get married!! A couple sad sex scenes, and a less than impressive epilogue. THE END

The H was a cruel asshole to the h when they were in high school he was calling her all types of nasty names. After they got paired to do an assignment he started seeing her in another way thank goodness the h didn't agree to go on a date with him. After 10 years he goes and tries to help her but I felt like he bullied her into moving in with him and I felt like he was still a jerk. Oh here's the kicker.. She's still a virgin, a 28 year old virgin while he got to fucked anything and everything even professors in college. There's no cheating but I didn't want her be a virgin I mean he gets to be experienced she should have experience too.

Edit:
Let me clarify that there's no ow sex scene in the little bit that I read, it was just him and his buddy talking how he fucked ows and professors in college. I don't want trolls coming after me. Lol

Repetitive, repetitive and some more repetition!

This shit got old real fucking fast! I was looking forward to Kim and Kurt's story but this was far from what I thought their story would be about.

A virgin at 28...are you fucking kidding me right now? Why, because she was hung up on Kurt, the same fuckwit that bullied her so badly she flinched every time he even came near her. Yet and still Kurt fucked everything that claimed a pussy...see where my annoyance comes in?

Why do the females in books like this always have to be the good girl, waiting for the piece of shit guy, while the piece of shit guy gets his rocks off with every available pussy? That shit is ridiculous, okay so being a female you tend to be more sensitive about sexual intimacy but it doesn't mean you have to literally live like a nun..WTF!!

Oh and I love how ten years later it's Kim whose apologizing for supposedly acting like a bitch in high school towards Kurt when he supposedly changed his mentality towards her...again...what the ever fucking what! How much more pathetic can this stupid chick be?!!!!

Needless to say..I didn't like this book, sadly Ms. Crescent missed the mark with this one!

Ok so it was not as bad as I thought it would be. At first I did not understand. He is making fun of her then buff like magic he wants her!? What? They did not even talk to form any kind of connection! I don't see how this is working in his head here. He mentions nothing about being attracted to her or loving her smile or anything just I have been an asshole and now I want you!
Also I did not understand how a 28 year old woman who is actively looking at porn and is sexually healthy could still be a virgin. I don't judge here but really!?
The story was very boring and I wanted some drama I would have settled for anything here! Omg the whole teenager feel to this book was annoying!
I felt like I was back in high-school talking about boys and thinking about sex. God I hated high-school!

MILD SPOILERS HERE
Thanks the good lord the writer includes the hero's thoughts at the end explaining how he falls for her. Wow talk about the epic tale of love here. All neatly done before they get married.
The epilogue was awesome so I gave it 3 stars.
Final thoughts, even though it was a buddy read (not my choice) I enjoyed it and it was a nice hot story of love lost and found.
Personally however I just pretended they are both 18 year old here with money and a house. Much more believable given their interactions than them being 28 year olds.
Also, It's technically a safe book given that they were never together 10 years ago. However, he does have sex with others during his whole college life (even some professors here). She did shot him down repeatedly 10 years ago and he was just trying to move on from her rejection. So really he is not cheating on her. Just I did not like that.
Happy reading all.

Kurt knew his words hurt when he was paired with Kim in highschool for a project. Jittery and untrusting, Kurt saw first hand how bullying affected Kim. He wanted a chance to make it right, but Kim's feelings were to raw to give him a second chance.

Ten years later, Kurt had a second chance. He moved struggling artist into his home and tried to show her how he had changed. Kim is not sure she can give Kurt the chance he wants, but as they begin to co-habitate, she realizes she is falling for him.

This was good, a bit too quick for me would have liked more. You had the background and you felt for Kim. Kurt I think was just a typical highschool idiot who thought he was funny but not realizing it was at the cost of others. Overall good story, especially if you like stories about bullies who redeem themselves.

I"ve been waiting for this book since I read Sam's book, "Fat". Kurt was a bully to Kim all through high school when he finally realized what he was. Now Kim won't give him the time of day. Fast forward 10 years and Kurt has come to Kim's rescue. She wanted to make it in the art world by herself but it's not working out. Kurt packs her up and moves her to his place where she has not one but two art studios and the freedom to do whatever she wants. I love how this story progresses as Kurt is patient and waits until Kim is finally ready to accept that he is a changed man. It was nice to see that Sam didn't rush right into them having sex but let it build through the story. I love the epilog at the end. Just want I wanted to read. And it was really great to see how Noah and Else were doing also.

I made the through to the end. I congratulate myself. The author had a good idea but the execution was a bit weak. Ok... a lot weak.

I also didn’t read the first book “Fat” so there were thing that I know I missed out on but it didn’t really matter. I don’t think it would have enhanced my experience of reading this book at all.

This one is a bit of a stinker.

I like the storyline and it has promises, but execution wise it has a lot to be desired. I think this one actually suffered from the length restriction of the novella and a lot are not dealt with with enough depth to make this more of a satisfactory read.

Simple premise, bully turned besotted suitor. Ideally it should be filled with angst and tons of sweetness as H makes it up to h. H did indeed try to make it up to h, was sweet and gentle to her all along and even patient with her at all times. The h put up a great fight at the beginning and slowly we see her let her defenses down.

What is missing is the emotions in here. I read parts in this and I know I should have felt all the anguish and bitterness, I should have awwwed and melted at what the H had done and said, yet I am strangely detached. It could have been Crescent's style not jiving with me, but I think a lot of emotions and feelings were only briefly touched upon with a sentence or a few words, hence I do not have time to react before it hits deep as I need to be keeping up with the next sentence. Even the H's declaration is a bit meh as the h also seemed not to have reacted much to it anyways as she was busy saying something already and we never know well how much this warms her. I am not big on too flowery or wordy descriptions in general as it can get tedious, yet in here we don't get enough to get the inner thoughts and workings of the protagonists to make this story work. The prosiac dialogues and happenings of the other couples are taking too much room in a book with less than 100 pages, in my opinion.

There is also the fact that H is that same same manho type that just found his one, even was getting everything for her, but kept sleeping around. Seriously, not sure what is attractive about such type to be all over romanceland nowadays. If anything, this is a red flag for women to stay away from this potential cheater type as his twang seems to have no problem doing its thang when his brain should have ruled. Granted it is totally unrealistic to not expect him to sleep with others for a decade, but I would not have as much of a problem if he doesn't think he has a chance at reconciling or he never realised what he felt. It seems like a wanting to look at the cake and eat it too thing, and the in between result is actually worst than one or the other situation.

All in all, pretty disappointing read as I think this theme really can work very well.

It’s sweet sequel.

This book is about the best friends of the first couple in the first book “Fat”. While it had a lot of the same elements of the first story, the getting to know you, falling in love aspect. It fell short for me because the male lead was a bully.

In book one this male lead stated that he only did it because his brother had got in his head and obviously he was immature enough to listen and follow though. In his (this) story, the author conveniently erased the brother. So for him to be a bully all on his own with no real explanation why was saddening to me.

Having said that, it was a lovely romance with very likable characters. With growth and healing. Enjoy.

Aha! I was right! Just as I predicted, this book was infinitely more enjoyable to read than its predecessor, simply because it concerns itself with grown up people dealing with their insecurities and coming to terms with their past transgressions. If you liked Fat, fret not, for its protagonists make frequent appearances in this one too.

The plot takes place ten years after the events of Fat. Kim and Kurt did not maintain any contact with one another, except via Noah and Elsa. Kim is a talented painter, but her determination not to rely on her famous painter mother led to her being stuck with a shifty manager and running out of money. In walks Kurt, who’s taken over his father’s business and become wealthy and successful. He still carries a torch for Kim and offers her a way out – she will come and live with him, and he’ll provide her with a studio, as well as the chance to meet some important people in the world of art. Despite her inherent stubbornness and trust issues, Kim accepts.

The rest of the book goes on much like one would expect – they grow closer, fall for each other and get married and have kids. However, this lack of originality doesn’t hurt the narrative in the slightest. There are several prominent themes that keep popping up throughout the story. The first is that of Kim’s trust issues. Despite witnessing the change in Kurt’s demeanour firsthand, she is still fearful and ridden with doubts, particularly as she starts falling for him more and more. It’s immensely interesting to watch her grapple with her self-doubts and this helps flesh her out as a real, believable, relatable character. Kim’s doubts and fears extend way beyond Kurt and his plans. She’s also insecure about her art and self-conscious about her body, in a near-constant war with herself over what she should do, anxious but hopeful, scared yet yearning for change.

The second theme concerns itself with Kurt’s determination to show her he’s not the same high school boy who used to bully her. He goes above and beyond, pulling out all the stops, in an effort to demonstrate how much he’s changed. His resolve, for the most part, is unwavering, though he can at times get discouraged and frustrated with Kim’s constant doubts, again – fleshing him out as a real character we can relate to.

Kim’s virginity takes up a huge chunk of the narrative as well. At twenty-eight, she is not only a virgin, but has never been kissed either. This is a fact all of the major and side characters – herself, Kurt, Elsa and Noah – discuss in great detail and it is interesting to read about, because seldom do novels in general and romance in particular cover the topic of what society considers older virgins. The longer you ’wait’, the more impatient and frustrated you become, though paradoxically, also more fearful and doubt-ridden. This is a topic that’s always been fascinating to me and, from what I’ve read, as well as the conversations I’ve had with friends who are older virgins, this ’state’ of theirs causes them both shame and pride, at different times and under different circumstances. They crave physical intimacy as much as anyone who isn’t asexual, but reason that, since they’ve already ’waited’ so long, the prospect of waiting for another couple of weeks or months or even years doesn’t seem too daunting, especially not if they believe they’ll meet the right person for the job in the interim. I think the author managed to present all of the inner doubts and fears an older virgin such as Kim might have extremely well. The problem, of course, is that she pairs her up with her soul mate, someone who’ll unconditionally love and respect her for however long they happen to live, a certainty many real-life people, virgins or otherwise, cannot count on.

What I really appreciated about the plot was that the dramatic tension doesn’t get caused by a jealous, psycho ex or any external factors threatening to tear the lovebirds asunder. Instead, it all stems from the scars they carry from their past and the bemusing circumstances they find themselves in in the present. I really enjoyed that type of ’domestic problems’ because it reflects real life. The situations Kim and Kurt find themselves in are very relatable and people from all walks of life can attest to having suffered through them at one point or another. Does this person showing an interest in me have ulterior motives? Can this horrible person really change and become decent? Are people even capable of change? Is this wonderful thing that’s happening to me too good to be true? Does this person I’ve wronged in the past realise how sorry I am for everything? Will this person ever be able to fully trust me? Is real love even possible? These are all vital questions that plague people every single day and make this imperfect world of ours go round. It is difficult to place our trust in others and all we can do is hope they won’t confuse our fragility with weakness, make fun of our flaws or break our hearts.

Yet another aspect of this book I really enjoyed was that, unlike so many stories of this ilk, it didn’t all just come down to animal rutting. In most cases, the trust gets established so ridiculously early on and the sex scenes take place so prematurely that, no matter how well written they may be, I still find them extremely rushed to be able to enjoy. In this one however, the first sex scene takes place almost at the very end of the narrative, which makes it feel earned and well worth waiting for, I suspect for both the readers and the characters. Determined to convince Kim that he is a changed man, Kurt repeatedly keeps delaying intercourse (though they do fool around on occasion), dead set on showing her how much he cares for and respects her. It gets so frustratingly unbearable for Kim that, in the end, she decides to take matters into her own hands and give him a little nudge, or a huge one. Unbearable though it may have been for her, it was quite satisfying for me. It takes time to develop trust, especially when it comes to sex. Just think about it. Sex entails a level of intimacy that leaves us very exposed and vulnerable, both physically and emotionally. Will I be good enough? Do I smell ok? Am I too hairy? Am I too loud or too quiet? Will they lose respect for me if I do this or that? Does my cellulite show in this position? And the ever-present  Is it long enough? So yeah, without a doubt, sex can be daunting for both first-timers and their more experienced counterparts.

If I had one complaint, and it just so happens I have two, they would be, first – as well paced as I found the narrative to be, I still think it could’ve been even longer. What I mean by longer is not that I would insist on there being five hundred pages more (although that would be welcome as well), but that more time in-universe could’ve transpired in order to make the story and character development that much more realistic. This could’ve been done with a simple ’three weeks later’, instead of ’three days later’, though this is really a minor complaint, more of an observation really. The plot works just fine within the existing space of time. My second complaint is that Kurt comes on way too strong, especially in the beginning. It makes no sense for him to be teasing Kim and hinting at sex and love and their shared future at the very beginning of their renewed acquaintanceship, when she trusts him the least and is still very suspicious of and skittish around him. But, I guess this gets chalked up to his charm that Kim starts falling for in the very first chapter, so it’s ok.

All in all, I found this to be an endearing, realistic portrayal of two people getting reacquainted, exploring each other’s personalities, beliefs, bodies and habits, offering comfort and warmth to one another and, ultimately, finding home in each other’s arms. Highly enjoyable, more realistic than your garden variety romance novel, endearing, hopeful, charming and endlessly human.

Sam Crescent was one of my favorite smut author. Every single day I never absent to check her new book and every time I read her new book, it was like a fresh water to my thirsty smut soul... yeehaaa!!

And this book was not different. I already fall in love with Kim and Kurt from Fat and from that book itself, it was sweet.

Reading them was a nice time to spent and I crave for another and another book from this author!

Bully No More!

So loved Noah and Elsa's book but loved this one even more. This book is of Kurt who bullied the one person who he realised too late was the one person that was meant to be his. But ten years later he comes to the rescue and offers kim a chance of a lifetime which she has no choice but to accept his offer but still has doubts and is being weary on his true motives. This was such an awesome read and Ms Crescent did an excellent job in writing it.

I had my expectations up for this one, but I was disappointed.
Kim never worked through any of her feelings or resentment towards Kurt in the 10 years, but after accepting his help, and making out with him a few times, she still feels he hasn't made up for his childish bullying years ago.
She eventually decides to trust him and they have sex, then later Kurt proposes and she accepts. THEN they say the "I Love Yous".

I was annoyed at the constant back and forth.

Like I said in the first books review I related to Elsa and Kim so much because I too got bullied and called all those disgusting words and believe me they stick and you can never get it off easily. Kurt was Kims bully in elementary to high school and it wasn’t until they were paired up that Kurt was so intrigued and couldn’t stop thinking about her and he recognised that he was in love with her but never said it because of his massive ego and his fear of rejection. 10 years later he showed up a charming and sweet CEO of a big company and she was an artist who was making scraps. So he offered her a job to live with him and paint because he still cared even after 10 years and all the women he fucked he still loved her so much and thought about her all the time. Kurt followed her through the years to keep an eye on her and he knew a lot of things about her workplace and her employer. She agreed to his proposition and he helped her move in and during that time she began to trust him and he began slowly apologising for his behaviour and how he was a changed man now. It seems like he is, he gave her a home, 2 art studios, built her a house, made an exhibit for people to by her painting at the charity gala. This man shook me to my core and in the first book I felt sorry for him but I was on Kim’s side because his words caused her a lot of emotion damage and caused her to have problems moving forward but he reassured her that he’s changed and she believed him and the next thing you know they’re getting married and having children like WHAT?

Story: 4/5 I want more content
SMUT: Kind of slow burn but I loved how considerate he was and taking his time with her until she was ready. 4/5.

Kurt has bullied Kim through high school. It wasn’t until he is paired off with Kim for a project that he realized what a fool he was. Kim has watched her friend Elsa find struggle with weight like her. But Elsa found Noah. And he loves her just the way she is. For Kim, she isn’t about to let any boy or man bully her anymore. She is standing up for herself and all the ugly words be damned. When Kurt finally sees her, he keeps trying to get closer. But she isn’t about to let the school bully change her mind. I do love that Kim stood up for herself. She didn’t let the ugliness stop her. Kurt needed to learn to change himself as well as show Kim that he has changed. It is a tough decision to actually fall for his charm. I enjoyed this story. People can change if they look up and see.

Beginning is kinda strange, but when it levels out into a better flow, it’s nice actually. Most people would continue to enjoy being the bully, he chose to be and do better in life, she does harp about him being a bully, but that’s expected, it doesn’t just magically go away without dealing with it/feelings.
⭐️The best word in this book: sexland ⭐️
😆😆😆

You know how many teenagers AND adults wouldn’t care if someone said this to them:
😮‍💨Kim sighed, and looked up at him. “Words hurt a lot harder than your fist, Kurt.”
For him to comprehend that, was just amazing (my opinion)
And another smart one: “Words cut deeper. They last longer than a bruise.”

I’ve enjoyed the “Fat Series” 😎

I read the first book. Kurt and Kim didn't impress me and I knew I wouldn't be reading their story. Still, after reading the reviews of others, I am glad I stuck to my first thought.

The 5 stars are because I have no right to screw up the book's overall ratings since I chose to review without reading.

Kinda finished this book, skip some pages.

The reason why is a 1⭐ book:

I waited 78% of this book for a mediocre sex scene

Elsa and Noah had a lot of protagnism.

Kurt is a whore. Yeah he fucked a lot of women to forget her? What a pussy, I don't call man pussy but Kurt is a pussy.

He called Noah for v card advice? Scene ruined.

And she lost her virginity in a disgusting pool.

Ugh...the fact this book was not that great and i still liked it makes me cringe. It wasn't a good book...but even though it was terrible I still liked it. I don't know why, I cant explain it. Maybe it was like a car wreck you just cant not look?? I don't know and I'm done trying to figure it out.

This was a mess…. The story was so choppy, you never found out why they even like eachother. And she was a Virgin of course but takes charge the first time and does it in a pool without a condom….. I think I lost brain cells, the Spice wasn’t even good.

Such a nice story, light to read and again with no bad guys or sad stories within it!!

Only 3 starts as really their spoilt moment of their first attempt put me off a lot, it was somehow disappointing….
