I found the title just a little bit overambitious and misleading: most of the tips in the book are not specific for women, and there's not really much content I found particularly useful or giving me more confidence to travel by myself as a woman. I understand that these sort of guides have to contain some basic tips, such as "make sure you have a valid passport before you travel" and "try to avoid taking drugs abroad" but I feel like that's where it stayed and never really went much farther beyond the surface. The final chapter, how to travel on the cheap, has been the most informative for me, but I felt like it could have just been a blog post. Perhaps I am being a bit too negative as I have read a lot around travelling so maybe there's not that much left for me to learn, but I definitely don't feel any more empowered or prepared for solo female travel after reading this book than I did before it - in fact, the few travel stories at the end may have put me off a little bit. Lastly, the book is generally well-written but the editing is a little careless - it's riddled with typos and spelling mistakes.
Love this book! As a globe trotter to currently over 85 countries, I can testify that the tips & advice Sunni has given is excellent & inspiring. Though I would never stay at a hostel due to security issues, she shares the pros & cons. I couldn’t put this book down as she kept me entertained. Highly recommend!
Provided some great tips for traveling solo. Some of the information between chapter were redundant but worth reading. I really enjoyed her real life experiences and how she overcame some of the obstacles that came her way. I did quite a bit of highlighting to refer to when I’m ready to travel.
She repeats alot of the same info but its because its a book you can just go to a specific chapter and read it. You don't have to be consequential. Overall good advice
