"Glazov...What does it mean, the name you call me--Ptichka?"
"It means: 'Little bird.'"
"And why did you choose that name for me?"
"Because I know if I allowed you, you would fly away."
I have been immersed in criminal activity from the day I was born. I was bred for the sole purpose of carrying on my father's reign of terror. I was born into the Bratva, and I would die in the Bratva. It was my destiny.
I learned how to spot a fighter from a very early age, and Kathleen had that fighting spirit inside her. I wasn't sure what her story was, but she piqued my curiosity. In my gut, I also knew I'd left my mark on her. She'll never be the same, never recover from unwittingly drawing my attention.

To keep up with all things Suzanne Steele you can find her on Facebook and her wordpress blog. Everything there is up to date. She loves her beautiful readers.
Suzanne Steele is an Amazon Bestselling Author and television host for a TV program in the Charlotte NC area. She focuses on volunteer work and is very heavily involved in giving back to her local community. The month of October will be spent focusing on breast cancer awareness.
Suzanne has a penchant for writing about dark characters with twisted behavioral patterns. If you're looking for the typical romance, this is probably not the author for you. Her characters are very alpha in nature and many times they operate under obsession for the object of their affection; rather than love. Though she does believe in happily ever afters, her characters many times have a bumpy ride getting there.
She also writes under the pseudonym Stormy Dawn Weathers for her writings that aren't so darkly laced with a true realism of shock and awe. Suzanne Steele does not believe in holding back when it comes to writing about how dark and depraved her characters are in the core of their primal natures.

As much as the blurbs for Suzanne Steele's books call to me, undoubtedly resulting in a "one click" purchase and a bump to the top of my TBR list, I think it might be time for me to hang it up. Every time I let myself get lured in by the temptingly dark premises of her stories, I end up being left wanting. I know that many people love these short stories, but I need more.

Alexander Glazov is the head of his Russian mob family. As expected, he is dominating, controlling, obsessive and has no problem keeping sex separate from any sort of emotional attachments. Just picture the stereotypical, Alpha-mobster that takes center stage in a million other romance/erotica novels and you'll know the type.

The heroine, Kathleen, is a woman who prides herself on her independence. She's a business owner and has had to work hard for everything in her life. Orphaned in her youth, she is also emotionally vulnerable and craves affection. She has never had a "family" and longs for the security and sense of belonging that a relationship offers.

When Kathleen follows her employee, Robin, late one evening, she ends up at a private, illegal gambling establishment owned by Glazov. Dragging her friend out of the place, her antics catch the eye of Alexander as he's watching her on the security cameras. Right then, he decides that he will have her.

Preying on Robin's weaknesses, Alexander offers a line of credit to the gambling addict. He knows that she will be unable to resist temptation and will find herself in over her head. Knowing that she will never be able to pay him back, he plans to take Kathleen as payment.

As planned, Kathleen ends up being at the mercy of Alexander. She can either agree to be his, or she sentences her friend to death. Of course, she chooses the first option.

While I loved the premise of this story, I found the delivery to be rather lackluster. Everything happened too quickly and too easily. The emotions didn't ring true and I never felt a connection to any of the characters. A storyline needs to be developed to be convincing. That just didn't happen here. As a result, the entire story fell flat for me.

I need more build-up and development. I want to feel the emotions of the characters, not just be "told" what they supposedly feel in a forced and unbelievable manner. I love a quick read, but only when it doesn't take away from the execution. Unfortunately, this one just didn't work for me. It was a short, smutty and mediocre read for me.

Alexander Glazov

Kathleen "Ptichka" Glazov

Review time baby!:)

When Glazov whipped out his "alpha" persona...

The Hanky Panky...

When Glazov "poofed" into oblivion...

The ending...

I enjoyed this book. It was suuuuper fast paced and I was able to finish it within a hour. I enjoyed Glazov and his hot "alpha male" tendencies, and was intrigued to find that I have yet again come across another heroine that discovers that she enjoys the pleasure/pain aspect of her hanky-panky time with Glazov. This book gave me harshness, hotness, and HELL YEAH all in one very nice package and I look forward to reading more of Suzanne Steele's work. Well done Mrs.Steele :) I recommend this book to those who want a wam-bam yes ma'am read coated with a SPICY alpha male!

Until next time readers,

This was just OK to me.

I usually love the over the top alpha, and I LOVE Russian mobsters, but I never felt an ounce of connection between the H/h. He just basically forced her into everything, and even at the end of the book she was sneaking around to take photos of him to use against him if the need arose.

So much love (insert sarcasm voice).

This was the first book I've read of this author and since then, I've been following her next release. I've read some of her books already and have her other books to read but this is my favorite book of hers. Her books are dark but at the same time safe to read. She writes alpha males that you'll love. I love how Possessive and protective Glazov was to his "Ptichka". The story was short but I enjoyed it. Loved it!

The only thing I enjoyed in this book was hero’s jealousy and his obsession with the heroine. I find no reason for heroine to take her immature friend’s debt. She came as a weakling for most of the time. And hero wasn’t scary..at all. He was sadistic and mean but sadly, all that didn’t resonate with me. Can’t believe I’m saying this but man this book contains too much intimate scenes. Like page after page, only these things. I lost interest very quickly.

This book was short, sweet and hot. Loved it so much. I really wanted this book to be longer.....lots longer. Honestly....800 pages would be down right awesome.

Miss Steele can write a damn story!!!

Kathleen and Glazov....just loved the dominance they both have with each other. They fight the other's power but they know they can't leave it alone!!

My two favorite quotes. ...
“You know, I like you. Anyone else, I just kill them.” “Charmed, I’m sure,” I muttered. AND ALSO...
“So you admit of your own free will that you chose to date the most dangerous Russian mobster on the FBI’s radar?” I looked him right in the eye and said, “I think that you need to go, because as far as I am concerned, the government crossed a line when they sent you to monitor who I fuck.”
I think I might be in need of me a Glazov. I love the way these men obsess over a woman and that woman gets under their skin. Once they do cross it's basically life as you know it is now over for both of them. Glazov is the epidomy of the Russian Mafia. Kathleen is tough as nails and gives almost as good as she gets. This is a quicky and a complete standalone but does cross with other novellas with their characters. Perfect for me as I want my favorites to keep living on and showing up when I least expect them too. I so love this author!

And Now to make more sense here are some point which may help you!-
The pace of the book is waaaaaaaay too fast !
In one scene H and h meet and in the other he says that he want to fuck her if she does'nt shut up.
Heroine introduces Rene as just her assistant but in the next scene she is puting her house on mortage for 50,000 $ for her 'assistant'
Dude atleast you could have said best friend then i can digest that you are putting your house on mortage for her gambling debt!!

Next h goes to H to talk about her friend's debt but just because Hero fell in lust with her He transfered the whole debt on h.
urghhhh i can't take it more with this nonesense but then who loves an Ott hero? Yes Ashi you do! You deserve this😑

there is alot more senseless shit which i can't tell you more !

I loved it 4.5 stars.

This is the first book I've read by this author, it's been on my to-read list for awhile now along with several other books by this author so I figured it was about time I actually read one.
Kathleen was brought up in foster care, she's no family and no real friends she's had to struggle, work hard and fight to get where she is today, so when her assistant Robin confides that she's in debt to none other than Alexander Glazov, the ruthless Russian mobster Kathleen feels her protective instincts kick in. It turns out Robin owes one hundred thousand dollars and so Kathleen steps up and goes to meet the man himself to sort it out.
Now Kathleen was not prepared for Glazov, she didn't expect him to be so handsome and so totally in control, power just seems to surround him and the control she felt when she walked in there is soon stripped away and now Glazov wants her, very badly.
I have to say I loved this book Glazov is just fantastic and Kathleen can hold her own against him, well up to a certain point of course but more than any other woman has ever done, it's as if they were made for each other.
I always try to give a totally honest review and so if you were being picky you could argue that the start of the book is unrealistic, would Kathleen really take on one hundred thousand dollars of debt for her assistant?
The thing is it doesn't matter, it's a means to an end this book is about Glazov and Kathleen, their relationship and it works, it's fabulous and I loved it and it's straight onto 'Glazov's Legacy' for me.

Semi Spoilery, but not Really!

So to start off this book takes place in "1994" which is important to note since they mention something technology wise and your like BUT EVERYONE HAS THAT!!! Lol

It follows Kathleen who is a small time business women. Her employee who she considers a friend has a gambling addiction that Kathleen had discovered and put her foot down about, but low and behold she comes back after a few weeks or so crying about being in Debt.

Now me I would have been like #ToldYouSo

and that would have been the end of my involvement, But for Kathleen that's like her only friend and she's going to talk to the HEAD OF THE RUSSIAN (#OhHellNO) MOB and take on her debt and he's basically fine, but you're going to have to sleep with me.

Will you be my whore to pay off your friends debt?

...And that's the plot of this book basically.

I LOVED IT!

Their relationship is not a cutesy gush aww type, its a dark obsessive and not healthy type of relationship. The chemistry between the two characters!!

We're basically just following the evolution of Kathleen and Glazov's relationship. In which he is overbearing Alpha male and she's trying to resist him. I really like the fact that no matter what was going on Kathleen always made sure her business wasn't neglected and that Glazov didn't try any of that "leaving you for your own good crap"....

I was drawn inexorably to the untapped fire that smoldered within her. It was a flame I knew well; I had been born for the sole purpose of carrying on my fathers legacy. Bratva was my destiny and I embraced it, would fight and die for it. I recognized that same fighting spirit in Kathleen.

Umm...I don't think I read the same book as everyone else read. Am I missing something here? Five stars, really? Eh, to each their own. I didn't think it was dark. I didn't think it was even erotic. Events happened way too fast. I could care less about the characters. Their motions throughout the story were quite unbelievable. Hell, the whole story had me all, "Whaa?" Sorry, I was just expecting more.

Mafia sexy time

There is really no substance or story. Mostly sex and it was hard to get into a story. The flow was not smooth. This book is what I call for Sh-t's and Giggles. sex and dirty talk was good.

3.65 Stars!!

Not sure what I think of this. It was 31 epages long and well written (meaning I did not get caught up on lingo and sentence structure...It flew along and kept you interested to keep turning the pages.)

#1-short novella...too bad because the bones of this story is pretty darn good. I like, I like but needed more development. They fell to fast for each other and I was not convinced in that emotion...again, a little longer=opportunity to develop the story more.

#2-A crime boss who is also a sadist? What a stretch....no, just kidding...I think it is ideal scenario. Someone who does not mind killing, maiming and threatening violence when the payments are not on time certainly might get off on being the control person when dishing out pain. The author did a great job of making this character very dominant and controlling as well as sexy and hot. I just wish we had gotten into his head to see why this gal was so important to him.

#3-I think a little more "inside the head" of the hero would have helped to understand why he faked his death and moved his girl to Moscow? I know the why's but I think knowing that he had a thing for her and was worried about the FBI would have let us see his feelings and concern for her.

#4-Hero needed to soften up and show love and concern for the reader, not just say he cared for her...for example: Telling your wife when she is asks to take her high risk pregnancy back to the USA to give birth that "You are three weeks from giving birth to my son and I have every intention of f*$King him from your loins tonight" is not showing love and concern for her...and in fact: not a very romantic mood setter for a night of romance either.

#5-Erotic? eh yeah I guess. Not bad, but not as mind blowing, eye bugging, fanning yourself a read that some scenes do to you.

Despite all this....There is something here and I actually enjoyed the progression of this story. I think had the author elongated the story, added some more flesh to the bone and it would have made a much better story. I would say go ahead and read it. It is short and you will not invest alot of time on something that is pretty good.

I deserve a pat on the back for having finished this.

You know what's like to hype yourself up right before you start reading a new book and be sourly disappointed 30 pages in? No? Well, I do.

This was a major clusterfuck. The whole story was rushed and, quite frankly, poorly written.

Kathleen and Glazov's love was born out of thin air (this is the only explanation I could come up with since there was no build up, whatsoever, to even hint on anything romantic between them) and shoved down my throat.

I'm actually going to stop this review right here 'cause I really hate having nothing positive to say about this book (not to mention, it already took way too much of my time).

P.S. Call me a masochist, but I still don't want to give up on this series.

description

I'm persistent. That doesn't mean I won't need at least six months to put this experience to the back of my mind.

I may sound harsh but this was not for me, I skim read to the end to see that I didn't miss anything.

There was no romance in this book.. Erotica, yes, but love??? Dunno how there could be he didn't do anything nice for her, like at all... she just craved him sexually and that's it🤷‍♀️ and the 🔥🔥 wasn't even that good and the whole book had just way too much of it.

Oh and yes he made her marry him, was sadistic in bed, left her for 3 months thinking he is either dead or left her after their wedding day. Oh and then brought her to Russia, once she is 3 months pregnant. And only didn't go sadistic on her cause she is pregnant. I mean if this is all romance and love, I don't need it (says me who even believed that Julian loved Nora in the end of the Twist Me series) 😌

Oh and we are constantly told that she is strong and independent? Like...how.....🙄

I loved this fantastic book! The perfect alpha male, perfect gutsy woman, and best of all... a mob book! The characters and plot were well developed and the sex was sizzling. I read from beginning to end and then started hunting for more books from this author. I am definitely a huge fan now!

I didn't like this one. I couldn't connect with the characters. The main guy was a jerk. The cat and mouse game got old because there was no relationship out of the bed. I don't even understand why she was fighting it if she kept sleeping with him. this wasn't for me. I had to force myself to finish.

This book is 5+ stars! Why? The back drop for this story is the Bratva (Russian Mafia/Mob), Glazov is a sexy Russian alpha male who has the filthiest mouth ever (yummy!!!), and last but definitely not least – he knew Kathleen would be his before she entered his lair! Air high five to Glazov for his sexy alpha male tendencies!

Kathleen is the ULTIMATE friend! How many of us would willingly agree to enter into a lion’s den with no hope for escape? How many of us would willingly sacrifice our freedom for a friend’s gambling debt? Not many.
Once Kathleen made up her mind to settle her friend’s debt, she thought her business savvy would serve as a buffer….a buffer for what? Glazov is one of the most powerful men in this country. It’s so adorable Kathleen thinks she can strike a mutually beneficial agreement with a man such as Glazov. After entering Glzov’s lair, Kathleen doesn’t know what hit her. She is pulled into a storm of intense passion, mind play, and every decision manipulated by Glazov. Oh but the rewards….man! The pleasure is worth every little morsel of what Kathleen endures!

This story has some dark tendencies and those tendencies make Glazov and Kathleen’s story so DELISH! It’s definitely not a flowery romance…in other words it’s definitely for adults who can handle more than “vanilla” love play! Glazov’s mouth is filthy and I absolutely love it! This story is fast paced, uber sexy, sooooooooooooooo yummy! You will definitely read their story read again and again!

This was a quick read. I just read the revised version of Glazov and I must say, I enjoyed the story much more the second time around. While the story is dark and intense, it's emotional as well. The chemistry between Kathleen and Alexander was instant and undeniable. The attraction and sexual pull between these two was dark and heavy. As much as Kathleen wanted to deny her attraction to Glazov, she couldn't resist him. Despite his many flaws, she fell for him hard. It was entertaining to see someone of Alexander's character fall so hard and fast for someone like Kathleen. One would assume with his ruthlessness, he had no feelings. Rene was a complete idiot who didn't deserve a friend like Kathleen. However, her stupidity gave Kathleen the very thing she'd always wanted. Suzanne did an amazing job with the revision of Glazov. While reading the revised version I felt that I got to know Kathleen and Alexander so much better and I understood what made them tick. As unconventional as their coming together may have been, and as completely different as they are from one another, they seem to be good for each other. The story line itself was good and it seems as though there may be a sequel. Definitely potential for one. I recommend this read to those of you looking for something quick and intense!

I really wanted to like this book. I have a weakness for fictional alpha type mobsters and Glazov should have been right up my alley. Unfortunately I couldn't get past the writer's style of telling the story.

The way Kathleen meets Glazov. She simply just walking up to his 'office'. Do Russian mobsters advertise their business in the Yellow Pages? And that wasn't the instance that jerked me out of the flow of the story. There is also a lot of internalized monologue, which isn't even always needed. I prefer when things will be told naturally and sometimes it just seemed forced.

I might read another book from this writer, just to see if it's only with this book or if it's her writing in general that just doesn't click with me. Hopefully this was just a floozy!

5 stars for Glazov...
This book is unlike anything I have ever read. It was enjoyable, entertaining, somewhat dark but it was not intense or disturbing. With a hot alpha male and strong female, there were many clashes between them. As I was reading I had no idea which way the story was going but I certainly enjoyed it. Some of the language and situations were actually quite humorous and I found I was chuckling to myself a few times. The book was a short read and it ended suddenly, but that also added to my enjoyment. I'll be reading more of this author's work in the future and will certainly recommend her books.

Not sure how I feel

Not sure how I feel about this book. I liked it and didn't like it at the same time. I don't like the "hero" making statements about I love to give pain and sorry I don't really care how turned on she is by it...no one is going to take a belt to my backside.

Oh well. I can't judge.....

Interesting and horrifying all at the same time.

A quick read, Glazov is a Russian "thug" on the streets but a straight freak in the sheets with a nasty mouth. Kathleen is a respectful and independent woman who learns she's just as much a freak as he is. I think the story could have been better if it weren't so rushed.

Hmmm, I wanted to read some good smut and got some bad. Here's what didn't work:
a) The heroine wants to save her employee (who is indebted to the Bratva with over 50.000$ ). They aren't BFFs, have no other connection with each other than work and still the heroine is such a good girl that she immediately wants to mortgage her house. Puhlease. I would have problems swallowing this excuse with her best friend but for a silly co-worker? Nevahhh. And of course, she later on agrees to work off her friend's debt on her back.
b) The hero is an asshole, and a dom I wouldn't feel safe playing with. I didn't care for his kind of punishments at all.
c) After a few encounters, the dom, of course, knows that the heroine is HIS woman he wants to impregnate. While I adore insta-love stories, I ABSOLUTELY hate those insta-impregnating plots. And how can she want it? He's an asshole?
F (not because it was badly written but because I want to slap both of them silly)
