This was incredible. I literally LOL'd to the point of tears at how terrible this was, so I guess there's some entertainment value to be had here? The writing is worse than the cover, which is saying something.
I need to find time to go back through and pull some amazing quotes because somebody needs to. Every main character is a Mary Sue. Nothing is plausible. Characters gain traits randomly as needed by the plot. There was one moment where one harem dude suddenly declared he has a side hustle doing work for the CIA and I swear I almost peed myself cackling.
Head hopping POV nonsense abounds. And there's also the problematic issue of these dudes treating this chick like a beloved pet cat than a human woman, which I could write a damn sociology paper on but I'm going to make the executive decision to not take this shit too seriously because clearly the author didn't take writing this seriously enough to consult a professional editor. *breathes*
Reverse harems are hot if done well; this was laughable (and if I was taking it seriously; concerning).
Also!! HAHAHA how could I not mention this sooner! The idiotic use of words at the beginning of chapters! Oh god, there are esoteric vocab words at the beginning of chapters that are then forcefully wedged into the story or dialogue and I DIED every time. Maybe I should just give this thing five stars because at times the badness was actually giving me life.

I would consider this a master class in How to Self-Publish the First Draft of the First Thing You Ever Wrote and Maybe You've Been Beaten Down by the Patriarchy. Also the stilted old lady dialogue makes me wonder if this was actually written by a hilarious nun who is trolling me. If that proves to be true I am changing this to five stars because bravo, Sister Nancy, you got me so good.

In the mood to discover a new author? Love reading Reverse Harem series? Sixes & Sevens by G.E Kelly introduces us to Jaycee who when she was a baby her mother died and then when she was six years old her father was arrested and charged with life imprisonment for murder. The thing was that night her father shot someone; they were trying to kidnap her. As Jaycee got older, she knew one day her goal was to save her father and uncover the truth about what happened. Until then, she had to learn to survive foster care. Now at 18 years, Jaycee has run away from her latest foster home to start college. At College, she meets Six guys - Jonathan, Sean, Lee, Alex, Garrett, and Marc. Marc was the one who lived next door to her as a child and knew the truth about what happened to her father. He has spent his life trying to find her, and now she has fallen into his lap, and he's not going to let go and neither will his friends who seem just as smitten with her. What will happen though when her foster brother Roger tracks her down? Will he tell his parents or Can the boys protect her? I was hoping for a bit more of her father's storyline in this book rather than her interaction and blossoming romances with the boys. I am now looking forward to continuing this series, and I have a couple of favorites of the guys - mainly Alex, Garrett, Sean, and Jonathan followed then by Lee and Marc. Sorry, Marc, I don't do guys with long hair.

This is a reverse harem novel and I really liked it. Now that I'm really dabbling into the RH world I've come to realize that there's a very limited variety of books that aren't all about ménage. That being said I gave "Sixes and Sevens" 3.5 stars because it was good but needed some work.
I know that a lot of readers cannot stand to read books with editing issues and such. I usually I don't have too much of a problem. Jaycee started out great, I loved her mentality and the main personality traits of her character but soon after we meet the boys. Unfortunately, I had to adjust my expectations of them because they turned out to be a bit too corny for me. So many "baby, sweetheart and insta like/love moments but even with that being said this series really does have potential. On a side not, I see not one similarity between this series and CL Stone's.

So poorly written. The beginning started like you were reading a brief synopsis in a newspaper article. but then the author failed to develop the story. She did not develop the relationships between characters at all, they were all of a sudden just super intense. Also there was a lot of telling not showing. And the main threat or conflict in the story was barely plausible and not really a realistic concern. She also jumped voices from paragraph to paragraph so you never knew who was thinking or speaking or if it was just being narrated. I don't have high standards for these kinds of books but this was really difficult to get through. I really didn't need to know what she ate each day, it was just a drag to get through and the actions and scenes were not really original.

Firstly it was written very pretentious, each chapter title was a little used word that the author tried (unsuccessfully) to integrate into the text, but it didn't flow naturally and using more «big words» did not help either.
Second problem with the writing was that it was written in 3rd person omniscient point of view and it was not jumping between different people too often and not clear enough who’ perspective it was.
Third problem was with the story, and while I was on board with the main story, the relationship and with the different characters, I just struggled with why these guys who had never met this girl were so obsessed with her, and that obsession was based solely on their friend who spent a day with a girl after her father was sent to prison. He didn’t even have a conversation with her?
Had the writing been better I would have just pushed through despite the story-issues, but unfortunately as a whole I just chose to stop reading this one.

There are a lot of mixed reviews about this book out there. Some people loved it, while others didn't even finish it. I personally enjoyed it quite a bit. It kept reminding me of the Ghost bird series C. L. Stone and My pack series by Lane Witt(sans the supernatural aspect, of course). Some events would just 'ring a bell' or the dynamic between the characters would sound familiar.
And while I was pleased with the story and the characters, there was one things that kind of felt off to me - the first chunk of book cultivated around Jaycee wanting to 'save' her father and free him from a prison and yet we do not see her doing anything to achieve that goal. I mean, she could have at least visited him or, idk write him a letter. The whole thing was bizarre.
Other than that, everything was great.
I'm a bit confused about the second book though, it seems like it's a rewritten version of the first book, but with a continuation of the story. If that is true, I don't really see the point of reading this one, because while I enjoyed the story, I'm not too keen on rereading the different version of the same events.

I love the concept of the story.
Just didn't think it was executed well.
I wasn't a huge fan of the writing style.
I felt like it was all over the place.
A few things seemed illogical to me in the grand scheme of things.
I understood where the character was coming from, but at the age don't feel like some of the things would be possible.
I also felt some aspects of the relationship moved a bit fast.
But I still loved seeing it develop.
I would still recommend though.

DNF I don't think I could stand one more 'family meeting' where the guys plan who will wrote get noise and who will wrote get ass *eyeroll* I try to like non paranormal RH but books like this make it hard to pick them up. Nothing was plausible. Mary Sue was unlikable and I just want to slap her

No. Just no. I'm sorry. I really tried to like this. I wanted to hear how the mystery turned out and if they succeed, but I cannot make it through. From the very beginning this was a bland read. The characters have no depth, are completely illogical, and say things just for the sake of the plot. Cats are more logical and interesting than these characters. I gave up after half the book.
Basically, the entire plot based on this nine-year-old who is obsessed with finding and caring for this six-year-old kid that he knew for one day after her dad died. This kid and his five friends are so emotionally unstable that they spend fifteen years mesmerized by a picture of this six-year-old to the point that they can immediately identify her even when she reaches eighteen.
Don't get me started on how this chick-that is so antisocial and disassociated with human contact that she freaks out when someone does not immediately hate her on contact- is so scared of someone surprisingly showing up in her room that she then decides to move in with a bunch of college guys. Let's not forget that this girl has been treated so badly over the last twelve years that she remembers distinctly the last kind people to be around her were this generally kind and comforting old couple and their grandson. It's completely mental. Like, she never had a single nice teacher ever? She never met a librarian that wasn't cruel?
I am sure there would have been plenty more plot holes and bad characterization to come further in the book, but I could not take a paragraph more. Kudos to those that enjoyed it, and good luck to any that attempt it.

Very enjoyable... I want more
A good start to a series which left me wanting more, like hurry up and write the next one, more.
I've been looking for some more reverse harem books - I am a huge fan of C L Stone - and came across this. I will be honest, the cover put me off a bit, it definitely doesn't look too great and I think if the author gets more of a following it should be something to change in the future.
I liked that the relationships between Jaycee and the boys felt natural and easy. It flows well and doesn't seem forced even in such a short time span. Also, I find some RH novels uncomfortable as it feels like the female is cheating on the boys but this was never an issue here. They all have a very open and honest relationship and that is quite refreshing.
A few downsides - I didn't understand why the foster family was such a big deal. She is 18, an adult, and she cannot be forced to go back. So what is the problem if they come looking for her? Just say no. Also, sometimes the story moved a little slow and I wanted something more to happen, whether that was dialogue, action or just to move on with the story. However I suppose with a first book you want to introduce the characters and the setting before getting into too much action.
Overall I thought this was a great read and I am definitely looking forward to reading more about Jaycee and the boys. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a RH series.

As a small child, Jaycee wakes to someone grabbing her in her sleep, wanting to kidnap, rape, and sell off into the sex trade. The men after her stalk her as a six year old, watching her walk home from school. Going to the library. But they don't know her father is home the night of the kidnapping? Where her father kills one of the kidnappers but is arrested for murder?
Okay? What type of town is this? Most of the police force is involved? The judges get paid off to send her father to jail?
The beginning just blew my mind! How is that possible? I kept reading trying to grab into the storyline.
Then next door neighbors take her for the night? Jaycee saw her father kill someone in front of her. Geez, she even had the guys blood all over her and the police give her to the neighbors? The start of the book just doesn't make sense to me.
Also, the nine year old grandson of the neighbors forms a bond with her in only a day. In which she was in such a shock, she never spoke to him.
I kept reading knowing along the way this group of guys would meet up with her.

Jaycee has not had a great childhood, and now that she's an adult she's going to do everything she can to get her father back and get away from her foster family. All of this is easier said than done. But, when she moves back to her home town and goes to college she never expected to meet a guy, let alone six of them who would be willing to help her out when needed. That's what happened though, and now Jaycee has a team to help her through everything going on.
This book was okay. It introduced all of the characters and the story line for the most part. But, I really hated the way it ended. And I also didn't like how Jaycee acted around her foster family, it made no sense to me since she's an adult now, so that bugged me.
But, other than that I liked the idea of the story and all of the characters as well as how they handled the situation. I look forward to reading more in this series, I just hope they get better than this one. Even though I did like this one, it still could have been better.

I had mixed feelings about this book. It has an interesting premise and the characters are all likable enough. It's not terribly believable. The entire premise is based on a 9 year old boy who becomes obsessed with a 6 year old girl who doesn't even speak to him, and devotes a percentage of his life to finding her. Then Jaycee is afraid of a guy spending the night in her dorm room with her roommate, but will move in immediately to a house full of men she just met. I understand that it sets the relationships up, but it doesn't exactly remain true to her character.
I wasn't crazy about all of the pop references. It seemed a bit forced. And although I liked the use of the vocabulary as chapter titles, I didn't care for the insertion into the actual chapter. Jaycee's delicate nature seems fitting to this group of guys. And the guys seem great. I think the series has potential. It's a satisfactory enough introduction.

UPDATE: Readers skip this book and go for the next Holding Seven, which includes a rewrite of this one -that so far (first chapter) seems to resolve many of the editing and story issues.
Second update. Sigh the second book gets pretty disappointing about halfway through. bummer.
I really liked this one. Do not start it near bedtime.
Not for the perfect writing, it wasn't.
Not for the perfect story, the first chapter was quite unbelievable. The author had to get the heroine in a certain situation but the handling was clumsy.
It's the rest of the story. It's a rare book of this type that makes you fall in love with all the men. I can only think of a few that have managed it this well.
I am now tracking down the second book in the series. I don't just want to read it -- I must! (good thing I am on vacation this week.)

Will continue the series.
There was definitely some CL Stone Academy similarities and I even picked up some of Lane Whitts Pack stories similarities. I happen to enjoy both of those series so I enjoyed this story as well. I feel like we got a lot of time with each of the guys. While I'm glad we didn't end in a big cliffhanger like most RH seem to lately I do feel the end was a little lacking. We ended on a good note for sure but I don't feel like we got a real sense of where we are going. If we don't get en epilogue I like something to come at the end to give me either some closure or a look ahead. All in all i can say I really liked it, finished it in one day, and will be reading the next book when it comes out.

Super cute!
I stumbled across this reverse harem theme romance. It's super cute the characters fun to follow and smooth writing.
The only thing I didn't really like (and rarely do for any book) is texting conversations. In my mind my head just finds them bumpy to follow, to many voices to keep separate I guess. (I don't even like group texting in real life lol)
Looking forward to the next book, I hope there's more of a climax than this one had. I felt this was more of a intro to the characters so hopefully some drama or action will kick in soon.

DNF. I tried, I really did. I wanted to like this book but I couldn't even force myself to finish it. It was a good idea for a book but the writing was unbearable. I would read a couple of pages, cringe and then put it away until finally I couldn't take it anymore. This doesn't happen to me often and I rarely give 1 star but it couldn't be help. Just go (re)read The Ghost Bird series if this is the type of book you're looking for.

Disappointed
The whole book was very bizarre. The book seemed rushed and then occasionally the author put in a big word, the words when put in seemed so out of place like they glanced in a thesaurus and pulled one out to put in the jumble. The main female character gave the meaning of weak an all time low and I thought it was very weird that 6 men were her soul mates and willing "to share her". All in all would not recommend very disappointed.

The main female character gave the meaning of weak an all time low and I thought it was very weird that 6 men were her soul mates and willing "to share her". All in all would not recommend very disappointed.

Very good
A well written book , the characters are charming , the heroine is sweet.
Some things are just too convenient but it not distract from the story. I really don't understand a lot of how the foster care works in the USA but she is 18 already why would her foster family have any hold on her? Why did she need to "runaway" from them? I will definitely get the next one , I really like the way the author wrote the sensual parts without been overly sexual.

Good but need a climax
Good book but I kept waiting for the climax and it never came. I feel like she connected with some more guys then others so hopefully we see more of that later!
This book didn't focus on the major problems like the father or the foster family only on building a relationship with the guys and it kinda got boring after a while! So hopefully next book we can see them actually trying to solve the problems and get an actual climax.

Amazing
I adore RH books, and this book did not leave me disappointed. If anything it's left me in need of cold showers several times through out this book.
I really liked that the main girl was older. Especially in this sort of situation. So basically... I'm green with envy. And Lord ... garret Lord!!!
Please say that next is out soon???

Characters were great
This was a good book and reminded me a lot of the ghost bird series. I really liked the character personalities. I also liked the way the characters interacted with each other. The only thing that confused me was the issue with the foster family. But in all a great read and I can't wait for book 2

I did not mind the writing style I actually started to love the book, I just couldn't get past the recycled scenes
immediately moved in with boys,
bathroom boys clothes, shopping, change rooms that's as far as I got before I realised I was reading a crapper version of ghost Bird and finding my pack. sorry.

Great choice of words
I loved that the author put a variety of words and it really made the story more vivid and come to life. But the ending was a little bit of a let down. Overall it was a fantastic book!!!
