It’s been ten long years since Mark and Hannah led a small group of loved ones into the bowels of Salt Mountain. A disaster of Biblical proportions was coming. A piece of the meteorite which broke off during a deep-space collision might be following the same path. NASA no longer exists. The United States government is only partially operational. There’s no way to verify the threat even exists, much less know when it might strike. So they do what they’ve always prepare for the worst and pray for the best. And while they’re preparing, they’ll also contend with other three of their own may be called to account for their role in a vicious murder. One of their most beloved family members is tragically killed. And they uncover a conspiracy. One which indicates the United States Army may be guilty of keeping a terrible secret.
I have read books 1 thru 9 in the Final Dawn series. Its about an end of the world story. No zombies, just what folks do when the end of the world comes. I enjoyed the series, the characters were well explained. The story was well thought out. A meteorite hits China and the survival is a go. It explains how they start out, how they live everyday life, how they survived in a salt mine.
I was pleasantly surprised after reading the ratings. I thought the book carried the story forward and the characters were changed by the challenges that they faced. The writing has improved through the series, but more proof reading would help. I am following four of Maloney's series of books and some repeating is needed.
So now the survivors have to face the possibility of another meteorite hitting earth. The hurry to pack the mine with enough supplies, and lose one of their own along the way.
Just when I thought this would be the end of the story along comes more twists and thrills. Looking forward to reading the next book highly recommended to you
