Lily James knows what she wants in a husband, and it isn't some alpha male who will expect her to do as she is told. Unfortunately for her, on the planet Meliora matches are not made based on the whims of eighteen-year-old girls, but by a sophisticated computer program with access to data that allows it to know a woman's true needs even when she doesn't know them herself.Determined to make her own match, Lily attempts to hack the computer's database, but when her actions are discovered she is given a harsh a punishment marriage. A man will still be chosen for her, but only after a thorough, intimate examination to properly evaluate her long-hidden need to be dominated. To make matters worse for Lily, once the match is made her new husband will have full authority to take her in hand and chastise her in any way he sees fit.Commander Eric Burton never thought he would marry again after his wife's death, but when he is offered the chance to tame a wayward bride and earn a large stipend from the government at the same time, he can't pass up the opportunity. Though it is immediately obvious that Lily will require firm and consistent discipline, the beautiful, feisty girl quickly claims a place in his heart. As Eric sets out to show her just how much pleasure is possible when she yields to his mastery of her body, can Lily bring herself to accept that surrendering to a man like him is no punishment?Publisher's A Punishment Marriage is the sixth book of the Beyond the The Future of Correction series. Emily Tilton, whose books have hit number one on Amazon in six different erotica categories, wishes she could live out her fantasies of submission the way her characters do.
Emily's erotica is a narrative version of her nearly lifelong quest to reconcile her submissive erotic orientation with her ethics. She writes erotic romance, but her books are always frankly and unashamedly about sex, because writing about sex helps her understand that fundamental part of her life better. She hopes maybe it does the same for her readers.
Over the many years since Emily became aware of her sometimes unbearable craving for spanking, ravishment, and all the shameful things that go with it, she has tried to come to terms with that craving in more ways than she can count. The first of the ways was by reading, voraciously, every piece of BDSM erotica she could find.
Eventually, she read "Story of O." As is reflected throughout her work, it changed her life, though the change has been gradual, and continues to this day. The idea that other women might share the lusts she has by turns been ashamed of and defiantly proud of, that a woman like the real Pauline Réage might write so beautifully of those lusts, and work them out so thoroughly and even pitilessly on a character, put Réage's famous pencil in her right hand. Or, to put it in the terms of EXPLORATIONS, which she considers her magnum opus, it put her left hand on the keyboard of her laptop and her right hand in her lap, if you know what she means. Emily started to write spanking stories.
I'd rate this somewhere between 3 (liked) and 4 (really liked) stars. It's a fun, quick and very sexy read with a dollop of humiliation, a side serving of humiliation and plenty of punishment. If that doesn't sound your sort of read then it's better to avoid this, rather than read it and give it a low rating.
I felt engaged by both main characters, Lily had a nice inner strength, whilst Eric had a sensitive and caring streak that made him very likeable. Despite his sometimes seemingly harsh treatment of her, Eric always had Lily's best interests at heart. The story is high on the heat level but the vast majority of these steamy scenes actually had quite a gentle and tender quality. Some books in this genre make me almost anxious when I read them, but this just simply entertained me for a couple of hours.
Severe Painful Punishment vs Sexual Submissiveness
Lily who grew up in a very modest repressive background rebelled against her communitys marital rules and rejected two assigned marriages. She was required to have a disciplinary exam which resulted in assignment to a military Commander for Punishment Marriage or Disciplinary Marriage. Eric is a decorated officer in the peacekeeping forces, a cancer widower. Lily had broken the law by trying to hack into the communitys Webb site to change her next assigned mate to a gamma (passive) mate. She has a history of masturbation up to five times a day and has her first ever orgasm during the disciplinary exam. Eric except Lily as challenging mate for marriage at the community's President. Lily discovers she is a repressed sexual submissive who finds spankings sexually arousing and and learns a avoid the painful punishments by being sexually submissive. In a Disciplinary Marriage she is required accept her husband's sexual needs at any time and place. She is punished for failure to comply. Erics training Lily is successful and the marital relationship submissive grows and improves.
Intriguing take on the future. Needs more background and filling out of main characters. A little less technical description. All in all a fairly good read.
Loved it. Mostly sex n discipline. But still very hot. I love this author thou for those same reasons. Definitely erotic. Still a decent plot n great HEA.
WOW!! What an awesome hot Sci-Fi story. On a planet where picking compatible couples is done by a computer, Lily an 18 year old is rebelling against being matched by a computerized program, hacks into the computer to change data, is caught by the government and making her choose between a punishment marriage or being sent to a mining planet. She chooses marriage and is married to a strict man who takes her in hand with spanking and various punishments to make her submissive in every way. Does she become submissive? Does she have feelings for him! The deep exploration of the feelings and emotions of the characters are delved into and the storyline is excellent which kept me turning the pages until I finished, it was 3 am. I loved this wonderful story. I was given this book by the author for and honest review and the thoughts and opinions are mine.
I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an advance review copy.
I liked this story. Even though it is short is does a good job of entertaining the reader. I like Emily Tilton standalone books way better than her Institute books. Not a lot of background is given on the main characters but it is enough to make the characters likable. I was hoping for a more conclusive ending for one of the secondary characters (I think you will agree with me once you read the book) but there is room for a sequel. Give this one a try!
This author always delivers a story that catches my attention and keeps me turning the pages until the end, this book did just that. A sci-fi with quite a bit of heat, a well thought out detailed plot, and characters that are strong enough to make the story interesting. If you haven't read this author before, you are seriously missing out. Nicely done, once again! I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an Advanced Reader Copy.
