4 I’ll catch you in my dreams stars

Sadie Frost has built up quite a reputation for her self, known as "the Sadist Ice Queen" by her peers. She keeps to herself and works her ass off, because one thing she has learned is that the only person she can rely on is herself and no one else. She's been able to scare everyone away with just one look, until the day she meets Julian.
“Don’t let that mask you’re wearing become your face, Miss Frost.”

Julian knows what he wants and it's Sadie any which way he can get her. She's as hard to get as there is, but those brief moments when she lets her guard down makes his pursuit all the more worth it. He's not going to let her push him away, especially when her body tells him something else entirely...
“You’re the train pulling your whole family along. You look after everyone else, Sadie. But who’s looking after you?”

Julian's Pursuit is a drawn out affair, taking them from acquaintances, to friends to lovers. Julian sees what others don't take the time to see in Sadie, and falls for her strength, her heart and her entire being. Sometimes being strong means letting others take care of you, leaning on someone else to give you strength to make it another day. There are reasons as to why Sadie is the way she is, and under Julian's gentle touch she removes her mask to show people just how big her heart really is. Julian is equally sweet and sexy, he wasn't there to play games and did everything he could to prove it to her. As soon as Sadie welcomed him, he jumped right in helping her carry the weight of her world, giving her the support and love she needed. This stand alone dual POV read was sensual and sweet, full of heart and learning to trust; a tale I highly enjoyed.

A li'l teaser and excerpt from JULIAN'S PURSUIT ...Coming soon- May 12, 2015

description

This excerpt is from Sadie's POV. Enjoy:

I stroked his leg under the table with my foot. “Oh,” I moaned, making my voice airy and breathless. “Is the food orgasmic?”
He smiled, a curve of his sculpted mouth. “You enjoy torturing me, don’t you?”
Yes, I did. I took great pleasure in watching him squirm when I gave him blue veined throbbers out in public. And I found it especially amusing when he told me he pictured playing mini golf with his grandmother whenever he had to tame the rumbling in his loins.
“Why?” I lowered my voice and feigned innocence. “Do you have a hard-on right now?”
Grinning with just enough arrogance to make him look sexy, he reclined in his seat and said coolly, “Nah. That’s my dick normally. Huge, right?”
“You poor thing.” My shoulders lifted with laughter. “Is your stiffy giving you a hernia? Don’t worry, all you need to do is tuck and duck and I’ll try not to laugh.”
“Miss Frost,” he chided, “behave yourself.”

3.5 Hot Pursuit Stars!

*ARC provided per author in exchange for honest review*

Julian's Pursuit is a decent read for those lovers of steam! While most are familiar and love a bad boy and the girl next door type of story, Haleigh Lovell drops a new scene for you to grasp. In this tale, the alpha is female and the object of her eye is a great guy with an amazing big heart.

This is the story of a successful female who has worked hard in the advertising world...all work and little play has dubbed her the "ice queen." Behind the impeccably dressed corporate go-getter is a pretty vulnerable woman whose hard work is not for self ego inflating but to provide for her family. Many do not know or care to try with Sadie, until a sexy new colleague works tirelessly to crack the cold shell she has. Julian is the definition of book boyfriend perfection as he is fun, flirty, smart, supportive, patient, and let's not forget hot!

Most of the story is Julian chasing Sadie. From fun carefree froyo runs to smoldering staredowns Julian makes no qualms about wanting Sadie. Only time will tell as to whether or not the chase would be worth the effort!

Overall, I enjoyed the premise of the story. I liked both the characters as there was nothing to complain about when it came to Julian. I could sit and pick apart Sadie as her push and pull actions were a bit tiring but I appreciated her hard work mentality and I especially understood her priorities. This woman had a lot on her plate and was alone so long that it was easy to see her trepidation. My only con was that I found the first half of the book to be kinda long and I was hoping with each turn of the page something would happen. Once the walls were down though...Whoa! The heat was steaming and it was frequent! You can't chase that long and not get major reward right? Also, I found the end to be a bit easy...abrupt...even with the epilogue.

If you like a love story with a chase and slow build up...a steamy and sweet connection...a fairly drama free tale then this will be a book for you. If you need a book with a hassle free man who knows what he wants, works hard for it, keeps his good boy behavior up then this is a great one for you!

SADIE

description

I read both Vivian's List and Liam's List last year and loved it, so when the author provided me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review, I couldn't wait to start it. Julian is Vivian's brother, but this book can be read as a standalone. Vivian and Liam only make a brief appearance, this book is entirely Julian's story. And no, he did not end up with Chelsea. There's a new girl in town and her name is Sadie Frost. She's a lot colder than Vivian, and a little harder to warm up to at first, but I did gradually grow to like her. She's tough as nails and a strong woman who doesn't take shit from anyone. Julian wants her, and this story is all about him trying to win her over with his charm, humor, support and friendship...My fav part in the book was the care package... I don't want to spoil too much but if you read it, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Julian is def on my list of hot book boyfriends ;-)

4.5-5 stars.

A beautiful love story about two people learning to trust.

"I’d never considered myself particularly lovable, so when Julian offered me his love, it fucking scared me.
It scared me because I’d always gotten the crumbs of a full relationship, the rest out of reach."

The story also includes Sadie's son (Evan) and her mother who is a little off the rocker. Pretty humorous at times. Overall a pretty hot and fun read.

Wow! Flirty, Fun and Fantastic! Julian is an ex-army guy who is now in advertising. There, he meets the untouchable Ice Queen, Sadie Frost...

He wants her...
And she wants him
But she pushes him away...
Still Julian won't give up without a fight.
He may be aggressive but he respects her boundaries.
I adored Julian... his quiet confidence, his silent swagger, and his love for Sadie just totally melted my heart. *sighs*

A player pursuing an ice queen!! Sold!!! When I first read the premise and blurb of Julian's Pursuit by Haleigh Lovell, I was definitely interested in reading a book in which has push and pull type of relationship. Typically in most romance books, we often see the alpha male persona pursuing the shy and lovable heroine but in this case Ms. Lovell did something different in which she turned the tables when she decided to introduced a feisty strong alpha female and a hero with an amazing personality and heart.

#1julian

Sadie Frost has been dubbed the "ice queen" because of her strong personality but what others don't see is that she is a dedicated hardworking single mom. Dating and her love life is not on her high list of priorities but that all changes when she meets Julian. She wants him but she pushes him away. And so begins a push and pull relationship where Julian pursues Sadie, showing her that he will respect, honor, and be there for her and her son. Once Sadie was able to let her guard down, she was able to see that Julian truly wanted to love her. So has this so-called "ice queen" finally met a man who will thaw her ice cold personality?

Julian's Pursuit by Haleigh Lovell was the first book that I have read from this author. I will say that I did enjoyed this book but I did find the beginning to be quite slow for my taste. But after a few chapters in, I found the story to pick up in allowing me to fully invested in wanting to know Sadie and Julian. I will say that Ms. Lovell did a remarkable job in showing the dynamics of the sexual tension and romance that was brewing between the hero and heroine. So if you are looking for a book, that is filled with sexual tension, romance, banter, and love then I would recommend Julian's Pursuit. It was indeed a sweet romance that will warm your heart of a woman getting her second chance at love. Haleigh Lovell

I have been anxiously awaiting Julian's story, and thankfully, Haleigh blessed me with the opportunity to read an ARC in exchange for my review! I am not a writer, so I hope my review will do this book justice!

I don't want to give away any spoilers for future readers, but you should know that Sadie is not the Ice Queen she portrays, and neither was Julian the 'player' I feared he would be. The walls around Sadie's heart are strong, but Julian is the PERFECT man by to break them down.

I fell in love with Julian from the beginning. His personality and humor were so infectious! Even though his life has not been all rainbows and butterflies, he has learned to live each new day to its' fullest and not to take anything for granted. Poor Sadie has had a very rough life. My heart went out to her, trying to juggle so many issues and responsibilities, with no one to lean on. She's been deeply hurt, not once, but twice, and the beautiful, sexy Julian comes along at just the right time!

I love that Sadie is such a fierce fighter, for her job and for those she loves, and despite coming off cold-hearted to those around her, she is anything but. Julian can sense it, and once her shell starts to crack, he weasles his way in until he manages to break her free from a prison of her own making.

Julian is loving, steadfast and exactly the anchor Sadie needs. He cares for her and her family, he pushes her to better herself, and most importantly he believes in her. As they navigate their new relationship, there are of course some bumps along the way, but it was wonderful to see Sadie blossom, to see her confidence soar, and to see her overcome her fears!

I feel like I learned so much more of who Sadie was than who Julian was,but that did not affect my love and excitement for this story! It was a fanatstic read and I was quite distraught to see it come to an end! As I turned the page and realized that was it, it's over...I thought to myself,"This can't be the end! Surely the story isn't over yet?!"

Alas, it is done, and what a FANTASTIC story it is! Thank you Haleigh for this opportunity! Don't EVER quit writing for you have quite the gift with words!

I was lucky enough to get a ARC for a honest review of "Julian's Pursuit". To start off this book is a REAL standalone... you know how some books in a series that you read that are "standalones"? Then you are reading and feel lost? Well this is not the case with this book! Although your missing out if you have not read the first two "Vivian's List" and "Liam's List". I love Ms. Lovell's writing, her books are real situations that I'm sure a lot of people can relate to. I really enjoyed Julian and Saddie, they were both very funny to where I laughed out loud when they were out to lunch or getting their FROYO YOLO! Let me tell ya Saddie sure did find a man that messed up her lipstick and not her mascara! The book had some VERY steamy scenes, the dressing room was my favorite one! I love Saddie's mom, she gave the book a lot of humor and Evan loved him too love his little heart! You wont regret buying this book or the first two in the series! I hope to see more come from series and more work from Ms. Lovell! Wonderful writing!

I read Haleigh’s “Liam’s List” and “Vivian’s List” nearly a year ago and loved both books. They are great! So I felt very honored when Haleigh sent me an ARC of her newest book “Julian’s Pursuit”. I read it immediately and couldn’t put it away. Haleigh wrote once again a great book! It meets all my criteria for a five-star-rating: I connected with the story, felt the character’s emotions, laughed, teared up and cried and I want to read more! It ends at a perfect time but way too soon!

“Julian’s Pursuit” is the story of Vivian’s brother and Liam’s best friend. Julian starts a new job at an advertising firm and meets Sadie during his job interview. She is his direct superior and I really appreciate the different role allocation. Most of the time I read books about a male CEO and billionaire who hires the female character for a lesser position in his firm. The setting of Haleigh’s book is far more realistic. They are no billionaires. It’s the story of two regular people. It is written in their first-person narratives. In my opinion it is the best choice for contemporary romance novels. Third-person narratives are more difficult to connect with.

The structure of the story is very smart. The book starts with Julian’s POV and the reader gets an outside view on Sadie’s reputation and standing in the firm. For me it got very emotional when I learnt more about Sadie in her perspective. I connected immediately with her and felt her struggles. Haleigh describes very detailed and vivid the struggle of a successful female in a male dominated workplace, how hard it is for women to balance their careers with their private lives and how difficult it is to overcome previous disappointments and heartbreaks. The story lets the reader relate with the story and their characters. Like I said, I felt every emotion Julian and Sadie had to go through.

Once again I’m really impressed with Haleigh’s handling of a serious topic and the evolvement of her character’s personalities. Sadie is a great role model for women and Julian is a man every woman should dream about. He isn’t like the usual alpha male I read in other books. He is self-confident, but in a good way, not an arrogant way. He knows what he wants and pursues his goals, but he observes Sadie’s limits and doesn’t force her to do what’s in his opinion good for her; especially because Sadie isn’t a woman who can be forced. She is strong and knows what she wants and doesn’t want.

Like I said at the beginning of my review, the story ends at a perfect time but way too soon. I want to read more about them and can’t wait to read more of Haleigh’s stories!

Haleigh did it again. I was lucky enough to receive a ARC to read and I couldn't put it down. It was beautifully written and felt so real. Reading this book I felt like Sadie and Julian were just two regular people trying for love. What I love about this is Sadie is blocked off cause of her son and past experience. Being a mom I completely understood where she was coming from with having guards up because she is not just protecting herself she has someone else to think about its not just her. I do wish we could get to know more about Julian I feel it was more Sadie's book but that did not hurt the story. I could totally connect to Sadie and her feelings and I love how she is so strong and does not let a guys world beat her down she fights back to get what she deserves she is not wimpy which is awesome! Like a lot of books I have read Sadie and Julian have there bumps in the road but what I love about this book is its believable nothing so crazy you think there's no way that would really happen. Julian has such a big kind caring hart and that makes you can easily fall in love with and Evan I just want to squeeze him he's such a strong little boy who takes your breath away and makes you smile.

I am so glad I got to read this book it's definitely one once you pick up its hard to put down no matter how much you should really go to bed for work the next morning. Thank You Haleigh for the book I loved it!

Bully happens all the time, school, work even in the relationship. I understood how hard the life of Sadie, because I am a woman too. Being abandoned from her father and boyfriend, being a single mom wasn’t an easy. To stay away being hurts, the best is close. It is the best way to protect your own if no one can around you.

Ice Queen may be not a good description but it fits Sadie. This is not Sadie wants but this is the way to protect her and her love.

It broke me, a little boy needs to have so many operations and mom needs to run to ER all the time, and we all know every time may be the last time to see him. Sadie's mom broken because she was abandoned, Sadie is the only one to stay strong and protect her family. if you don’t act that way, you will break too. Tears running down for Sadie.

LOL to the “wisdom” dialogues between Mom, Evan and Sadie.

i love it, and priase for women who are strong!!!Thank you so much for letting me have a chance to read the unedited version, I really enjoy it.

4-4.5 stars. After reading Vivian's List and Liam's List, I was excited to have the opportunity to read about Julian, Vivian's older brother and Liam's best friend. Julian's story takes place several years after Liam's List. It can be read as a standalone without reading the prior 2 books although knowing Vivian's story gives the reader insight to Julian's family life growing up and knowing Liam's story provides information about what Julian likely experienced once he was discharged from the military. Otherwise, Vivian and Liam do not have a heavy presence in this story just like Julian did not in their stories. Julian is newly employed at an advertising agency and has taken notice of one of his coworkers, Sadie, who is rumored to be a cold hearted sadist. That doesn't deter Julian from trying to get to know her and become her friend, even though he's very attracted to her. Sadie hasn't had the easiest life and her plate is overloaded with responsibilities between her job, her mom and her son. She doesn't have time to socialize and doesn't indulge in office gossip or relations. I wasn't quite sure what to make of her at first. She doesn't have the same kind of warmth as Vivian, but she's not a cruel person, she is simply serious about maintaining professional boundaries and keeping business as strictly business. After learning more about Sadie, I found myself warming up to her because she is spread pretty thin and is mostly trying to stay afloat without breaking down. She's the foundation of her family in every way, so there's no room for weakness or time to wallow or crumble. Although there's not much emphasis on Julian's past, knowing what he's experienced from the prior books and what little he shares indicates that Julian is a mature person now and that he has struggled quite a bit before, too, so he recognizes when someone else is barely holding it together. I didn't think I would like Julian as much as I did before I read this, but Julian is actually an amazing person. He has overcome a lot and at one time, he might have been close to rock bottom, but has emerged stronger than ever with the determination to live his life in the best way possible. He's more than willing to give a lot of himself and to be a real friend when the need arises. Sadie is not an easy person to be around, she fights people off from getting too close and always puts her own priorities last. She's especially suspicious of men because she has firsthand knowledge of how they will abandon her once they've had enough. I could feel her pain when she would recollect those memories. Can Julian break down those walls that Sadie has built? Will Sadie learn to trust again at the risk of having her heart broken? The story moves at a natural pace and the characters are well developed. I would like to think that there's still more to their story to share and hope to read the rest of it someday.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Julian’s Pursuit from Haleigh for an honest review. This book captivated me from the very beginning. I would have read it in one sitting if I had the time- I really didn’t want to put it down. The characters were well developed and I was able to feel connected to them throughout the entire book. It became a five star read for me around the middle of the book- this is when I started feeling emotionally connected to the characters. Sadie and Julien have excellent chemistry that plays on your emotions throughout the read. Although you don’t have to read the first two novels in order to follow the plot line in this book- Vivian’s list and Liam’s List- I would recommend reading them as the character’s from these books do make an appearance. I’m looking forward to reading more from Haleigh- maybe a follow up to this story!

description
I just literally couldn't...
Julian's attitude and personality didn't match his age or the way he was portrayed. He seemed to have a personality of an 18 year old boy "wanting what he can't have" and Sadie didn't portray the ice queen character everyone in the office gave her, she was just a hard working employee and didn't have time to do anything besides care for her kid. Which played a huge part in this DNF.....
I know it sounds so shallow but I can't read books about MC's already having children. I just can't...

This book has a very misleading blurb She is the cold and unfeeling Ice Queen at the corporate office. He is the reformed player who wants her.
Only one person in this book was saying she was an Ice Queen. And I don't understand why the author said Julian was a reformed player. Or maybe she did this just to make this book sound more interesting. I wouldn't say that just because a man had a fiancée 5 years ago and he hooked up with one of Sadie's coworkers he is a player. But I guess reformed player sounded better even if that wasn't the case in this book.

4 Solid Stars!!!!!!
I was graciously given an ARC of this book by the very lovely Author Haleigh Lovell and although this was my first book of hers that I have read, it certainly won't be my last!

The storyline was great and I truly loved Sadie and Julian. Why not 5 stars you may wonder....honestly, up until a certain point later in the book I did teeter between a 4.5-5 stars for most of the read but there were a couple of my own personal "reading hang-ups" that dropped it down star but again and I stress...my reasons are purely my own personal reading preferences and there were a couple of issues that I had with parts of the storyline with both Sadie and Julian. Some readers may not be bothered by the "issues" I had with certain parts of the storyline but for me, I can honestly say I felt a bit of disappointment in the turn of a couple of events that indirectly affected the storyline. Nothing major to some readers but for me ehhh, I could have done with a different path on those particular parts of the story if that makes sense and it certainly didn't change the outcome but I guess I just didn't like a couple of those things, period, lol.

Now the story itself for me flowed fairly seamlessly and quickly, I may add, and honestly once I started it was very hard to put down:) I loved Sadie, she was a bad ass Alpha female for sure and believe me when I say she had plenty of reasons for her "ice queen" status. It was a really good storyline and the back story of Sadie although heartbreaking, it was done perfectly, brilliantly in fact, and although it was heartbreaking to read, I LOVED it! When I got to her back story, OMG, I had tears in my eyes and my heart literally ached for her. She was a great Alpha female, strong, smart, independent, honestly, she was the bomb and I loved her! Julian on the other hand was just so awesome, from the get-go! He was calming, sweet, caring, sexy and just oh so HOT!!!!! He had the patience of a saint and at times he needed it, lol!!!! His was character was also strong in his own way and please don't let the "Alpha female" character make you think any differently of Julian's role, as he was definitely ALL male and a fine male specimen at that!

Sadie and Julian were PERFECT together and let me add Sadie's mom and son into the equation and they made for the perfect balance:) The happiness that this family found together through all of their own individual tough times was so well deserved and I couldn't have been any happier for them all in the end:) I would so love, maybe wink wink, a little Christmas/Holiday or something novella on all of them, just to catch up with them because I truly loved them all!!!!!!

Congrats to Author Haleigh Lovell, you rocked this and I look forward to reading much more from you in the future! You are so talented and I can only see continued success in your future:)

******I was given an ARC of Julians Pursuit for an honest review*******

Great book ... it had a little bit of everything in it, some steamy schmexy scenes, the mother was freakin hilarious, Julian was HOT, Sadie was a strong woman, and the little boy made me cry. Great job Haleigh!!!

Sadie is fierce, determined, strong, and single mother of E aka Cheese Monster aka Mister E aka Evan has experienced a lot of hurt in her life. Her father left when she was younger, divorced her mother, her boyfriend in college, the father of her child walked out when she told him she was pregnant, neither of these men ever looked back. Love loss like that, pain like that is something that molds and shapes who you become, and it caused Sadie to become cold and closed off afraid she would get hurt again if she opened herself up to love. That is until Julian!!

"Sometimes the worst thing and the best thing that ever happened to us are one in the same."

Being a parent to her 6 year old son as well as her alcoholic mother, Sadie's time away from work is filled with laundry, dishes and parenting. Julian, handsome, funny, and charismatic is the new hire hottie at the advertising firm Sadie works at. Julian is headstrong, and determined, and when Sadie catches his eye he is a man on a mission ... a mission to get a date with the "ice queen".

"Don't let that mask you're wearing become your face, Miss Frost."

I love Julian his life like Sadie's has not been all rainbows and sunshine. He was in the military for a while and has seen and experienced things that change you. His fiance left him, said she wasn't ready for marriage only to marry someone six months later, so he has learned a lot and vowed to live each day with vigor and take nothing for granted. Julian slowly thaws Sadie with his charm, wit, and caring personality. Julian senses that Sadie's cold persona is simply a front, she has to stay strong because she has no one to lean on. Julian slowly breaks down her walls.

"I can't promise you this is gonna work out. I wish i could, but there are no guarantees. You could turn around one day and decide you don't want this anymore. But i know how i feel about you. I know i want to be with you and if this turns out to be a big effing mistake then let's make it the best big mistake we ever made. That's what I want."

Advertising is a cutthroat business, most especially for women. But Sadie was great with her work, and has surpassed men before her. She was considered as the ice queen. She was cold, unwavering, and successful. On the other hand, Julian was new in the office. He was persistent, determined and a player.

Sadie was an amazing character. She has a lot on her plate since she was sixteen and has been juggling more than her share. But she survived, and tries to be strong for the people she loves, most especially to her son, Evan. No wonder her walls were up. Dating was not on her plate. However, Julian was relentless in his pursuit. He wouldn’t stop until she finally said yes to him.

Julian was easily likeable. He’s Vivian’s brother from Liam’s List. He was charming, handsome and smart. You can’t help but to fell in love with someone like him. He doesn’t easily give up. He knows what he wants and he works for it. But can he break the tall, hard walls that surround Sadie’s heart?

The chemistry was brewing; it built up as the story goes along until they could no longer deny the fact that they were meant to be together. But first, someone has got to take a risk. Would she be brave enough?

He entered into her life and turned her world around. She was happy, everything was going well, and she no longer had to juggle everything. She had someone helping her out, and I was so happy for her. Julian sure knows how to take care of the people he loves.

Easily likable characters, great plot, intriguing issues, amazing showcase of woman empowerment and a whole lot of steam makes this book a worth the read!

Julian's Pursuit is a sequel to Vivian's List and Liam's List, but can be read as a standalone as Julian's family is not a big part of the story.

"I'm gonna burn my boats, Mom! And you're gonna burn yours!"

I really liked this story! I am a big fan of romances that have a slow-build and just enough angst to give the story some meat, and this is one of them. Julian has his eye on Sadie from the beginning, but she is very professional and guarded. She does have an attraction, but for circumstances you'll learn later in the story, she is not looking to start an office romance with him. Julian is persistent, though, and after a series of events, she finally gives in to his "pursuit" (please pardon the pun".

There were some components to this story I liked more than others....one of my main issues is with the alcoholic mother. I did not like her character at all! She was extremely juvenile and a lot of the things she said made me cringe. I also had an issue with the continuity of the story-telling. I could never get a great read on who Sadie or Andrea really was because one moment Sadie would be very cold and professional...and in the next scene she has the language of a teenager.

The sex scenes were great for the most part, if sometimes a little wordy and too descriptive. On the whole, I would say the author has as a great talent for writing a steamy novel....go back and read Vivian's List and you'll see what I mean!!

This book has it all--steamy love scenes, office politics, tumultuous pasts which cause present day turmoil, potential love-triangle scenario and an asshole who seems hell bent on tearing our protagonists apart. Was not a huge fan of the ending though...not enough resolution. Thought the last few pages could've used a bit of an overhaul, and I would've removed a lot of the pop-culture references...especially the ones that didn't seem to be age-appropriate for Sadie and Julian.

Overall, I'd give this story 3.75 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The female character was a piece of work! I don't see how you made a male character even remotely interested in dealing with the craziness.
