A love for reading and writing is a new concept for Virginia. Before the Twilight rave and a need to know the ending after Eclipse was released in theaters, Virginia preferred to watch the movie or convince a friend to read the book for her.
Needing to know the story of a random homeless man that she encountered on a freeway exit ramp, was the only reason she began writing in the first place. Soulless Nights spawned from the unknown story and a dare from her friends.
She has had the pleasure of working with some of her favorite authors. Street teams and beta reading were what led her to the world of writing.
She has released Soulless Nights, Vindicate, Expiate, Cessation, Always Never, Secondary Silence, Secondary Disaster, The Xmas Effect, The Blood of Abigail, Correcting Code 1.1, and the Bad Words Made Funny Series!
She recently released Night Tales Vol 1. Wich consist of 3 short stories featured in anthologies.
She also has co-written 3 books: Seraphines (Julia Clare) ,Bound by an Echo (Julia Clare) & Kepler: Humanity's Ark ( Kyle Perkins )
She is currently working on Correcting Code novella's

Wow! This book is approachable yet haunting in all the best ways. It's like See Aspen Kick Ass. This is not a girl you want to cross and it pushes the line while you root for her the whole time. I read this and book 2 all in one night. I couldn't put them down!
I received a copy of this book from a dear friend and I was really looking forward to reading it. It certainly jumped into the action right away. The pace was fast and the content was dark and spicy. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more from this author.
The sequel to Revenge is here, and it packs a punch. Our second outing with Aspen takes the violence and gore up a notch, which one expects with sequels. Where Virginia Johnson shines is in getting the reader to cheer when her main character Aspen goes on her rampage. It is refreshing to sit back and effortlessly breeze through 70 pages of a killer's escapades. I thought this would be an easy read to get through in an hour ir two. A dog chasing a car. Don't think, just enjoy. Little did I know Johnson threw in little things here and there that gives us a deeper character than originally thought. Johnson knows exactly what she's doing. You think Aspen is one thing, she throws a curve ball at you. Does Aspen love? Is she capable? Has she ever been beaten in a fight? What is her moral code? Is she afraid of anything? These are things I found wanting to know. Not exactly thoughts generated from an "easy read". I hope she continues the series, giving us stronger foes for Aspen to take on. Someone that proves a challenge, as I'd love to see her calculate a kill. I want to know more about her back story, WHY she does the things she does. We only get hints here, but they point to a seedier and darker history than I thought possible. I want more. Yesterday.
Virginia gives her fans what they asked for, a fascinatingly dark followup to her hit, Revenge, found in doctrine of Indecency: 18 Coveted Tales of Lust! Aspen is a complex creature with a tenebrous past who is thrilling, terrifying, and impossible not to become enamored with. Ethan, the one man to truly understand her, is the perfect complement to her psychotic nature. These two are a force to with reckoned with, or avoided at all costs. There isn't a chance for a dull moment as it's just one bloody action scene after another, the erotic scenes are, of course, mixed in. The end, wow! All I'll give away is that it's absolutely brilliant. Be aware, the phrase "moist folds" does appear in this and it's not referring to cake or pastries. For this being Virginia's third venture in the world of publishing, I can easily give it five shining stars and and am eagerly anticipating her next release. I will be her fangirl for life!
Wow.....how much did I love this book, 5 Stars worth, that for sure. Aspen along with her side kick Ethan travel across the country leaving death and destruction in their wake. This psychotic pair know no bounds and are spurred on by each other faults. Ethan is a panty dropping, drop dead gorgeous guy who beds anything with a virgina and this gives Aspens so called demonds enough torment to come out to play and boy does she like to play. Aspen and Ethan have a love/hate relationship and each and every 'bloody' act that is played out spurs on one or the other.
If your looking for a fantastic storyline with blood, gore and a couple of psychos the sit down, buckle up because your in for a fantastic ride.
I have read this book many times but for some crazy reason I have never left a review. I am an avid reader of Virginia Johnson and I am just baffled that I never left a review of one of my favorites by her. I love her writing style and especially the detail that she puts in her character's backgrounds.
Now onto Vindicate. This was one h*** of a story. Very suspenseful and spontaneous. With Aspen and Ethan you never know what is gonna happen.
I do believe that Aspen has met her match in Ethan. The question is.... who will get the upperhand?
If you want to read something dark and twisted. This is the book for you. Aspen has an axe to grind. Or should I say a knife to wield. She kills. As the book progresses. We find out she has something In her past which had driven her to this. Enter into the frame Ethan. He is not all he seems. The plot thickens and their lives become entangled. Their personalities are not a good mix. As with all things bad for us. Something or someone has to give. A brilliant read. A twisted romance. Aspen is a strong character. Who I would never ever cross
WOW!! This book is so dark and twisted! I loved it! Aspen and Ethan are both so twisted and bloodthirsty that they are almost perfect for each other, except for the fact that they are trying to destroy one another lol. Everywhere they go, they leave a trail of death and as the body rises so does the tension between the two. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book
Vindicate is a fast paced erotic horror that follows the Main Character, Aspen, as she indulges in her devious desires. She is obviously fueled by a previous event in her life, and takes it out on those she deems fit.
i thoroughly enjoyed reading this story, regardless of the cliffhanger. the second book is now out, so look for my review on that!
This is my first book by this author. It was a very intriguing story. Aspen and Ethan definitely have a very messy relationship. They are absolutely a match made in hell. *Magic Beyond The Covers Blog*
Well, well, well. What can I say apart from this book is twisted in the best possible way. Every page was a thirst for blood and i loved it. Aspen with her twisted morals but boy it had me gripped. It was my first read by this author but it certainly will not be my last. Book 2 here I come!
What a thrilling spine chilling read it's hard to decide who you want to win in this war. I can't wait to see what happens next with Aspen will she continue her revenge. An absolute must read wow
omg this book was just messed up! its two people who having killing on the mind so there perfect for each other. they dont care how many bodies pile up! this is a must read!
This was the first book I had ever gotten to read by this talented author.. Aspen is the main character and I was in awe. I hope more to this story comes out
**This book and review contains situations not suitable for some audiences. This book and review should only be read by mature audiences (18+). Trigger warnings include: extreme violence, serial killing, sexual scenes, and rape. Ok, so I am backwards when it comes to reading, I know this. Let me start off by saying that Virginia was a new to me author before I purchased (and read) Seraphine’s (which is amazing, btw and I suggest picking it up if you haven’t already!). Seraphine’s was the first dark erotica book I had ever read. (Virginia, at this point I don’t know if this is the only genre you write in, but I have to say that you’re definitely amazing with this one!). Vindicate gave me the same feel as Seraphine’s, but with less gore. The author describes the scenes well, that’s not what I am saying. I simply feel like Seraphine’s is much darker and Vindicate feels like an episode of Criminal Minds (I love that show) that was not written for TV. Vindicate was a short read, but the story leaves the reader satisfied. I love how the author explained why Aspen turned out the way she did. After what happened to her, it’s no wonder she had a mental break. In the beginning of the story, I honestly thought that she had killed the guy, Ethan, she was talking about too. To my surprise, she found him in the bar she found herself in while stalking her prey. I get that she can’t leave witnesses to her extracurricular activities, but she seemed to give the victims of her prey the chance to win their freedom, although, she never let one live in the story. I wonder if she’s ever left a victim alive. Of course, by her code, she needed to know that they weren’t going to continue to be a victim. I am sure that the women she encounters has no idea what’s going on in the beginning and end up trying to make excuses for their asshole significant others like Eternity did in the beginning of the book. By Aspen’s code, I guess that means they have to die. When she has a flashback of her trauma she wanted to kill herself for being so weak and naïve. So, this makes sense. I enjoyed the connection that Aspen and Ethan had together. I think they could have made a great team if only Aspen didn’t have to kill everyone that Ethan was with. In a way, I thought she wanted him all to herself. She definitely seemed to have feelings for him, jealousy was one of those feelings. Then again, I think she flip flopped between feeling guilty and responsible for leaving him alive, and caring for him and thinking they could continue on together. In the end, I think she felt like he betrayed her because he drugged her. So, by her code he had to die. I hated that Ethan had to die. I was starting to like him! The ending was perfect. I just wish I knew how Aspen felt about what Ethan said to her with his last breath.
The story was well written with only a few typographical errors. The story flowed well and never left the reader guessing (without reason). This is the second book I have read that included this author and her writing is exceptional! I will gladly continue to read works by this author, and recommend her work to anyone who enjoys a dark erotic read!
First I must say I won this book free from author Virginia Johnson with no promise of anything in return. This was the first book I have read from this author and won't be the last. This book also included the beginning short story Revenge from the book Doctrine of Indecency. This book is different from any that I have read, in a good way. The main character in this book is Aspen, is not the normal hero type, she is a crazy, psychotic b*tch that is hunted by her past. This book is full of the twisted games that two psychopaths love to play with each other which include action, blood, death and sex. This book is not for the faint of heart and if your looking for the HEA with all the hearts and flowers then move on this is not for you. If you want to read about a hot and twisted chick that gets off on a bloody kill, you will love this books as much as I did. Look forward to what is in store for Aspen next.
I first got a taste of Aspen in Revenge and if you're anything like me, you were left wanting more.....so after telling Virginia how much I adored Aspen and her homicidal tendencies, Virginia kindly gave us more....In Vindicate you get a little more of an insight into what happened to Aspen that made her the homicidal bad ass that she is and why she does the things she does. But Aspen isn't alone in this blood fueled journey of her's, Ethan is along for the ride. These two are similar, they both have dominant personalities and a need to control, especially those around them....including each other. They both have secrets, secrets that if the other found out about them, they would use against one another. So between the homicidal fueled sex and the need to survive each other, physically and mentally, you will be asking yourself, is Aspen capable of love or empathy? What else is Ethan hiding? Did Aspen get revenge on those who "created" her? Who, if anyone, will survive this? By the end of the book I was left wanting more of Aspen, I want to know more of her story, I want to know what will become of her and I want to know what will become of her and Ethan's "relationship" I just want more of Aspen
I first heard of Virgina Johnson when I bought the book Doctrine of Indecency and her story Revenge. I met Aspen and can't get enough of her, I want to know everything about her. I read Vindicate in about 3 hours, all I can say is I really couldn't put it down. I love that batshit crazy ass bitch Aspen. I read each sentence and couldn't wait to see what her or Ethan were going to do next. I was so happy to get a glimpse into her back story and can't wait to see what she does to Tracy and his mother her creators. I wish there had been more of Ethan's back story, but maybe in the next book. I hate the fact that it might just be Aspen because the two of them were so explosive together sexually, physically and emotionally, in an odd way you could say they brought out the best and worst in each other. The trail of dead are stacking up and we are left wondering if Ethan will be added to the numbers. I want to thank Virginia Johnson for a story that I truly enjoy reading and look forward to the next one. I am waiting on pins and needles for the next installment of Aspens story,
Vindicate by Virginia Johnson is a continuation of her short story Revenge. The story of Aspen and Ethan continues in an epic way! Revenge is also included in this book.
Chaos and destruction follow these two where ever they go! They both are drawn to each other and yet seem to do everything they can to destroy each other. I spent most of the book hoping to see them together but knowing that it would never be, at least not in the traditional way.
You get to see another side of Ethan in this story. The side that is just as messed up as Aspen. The side that loves pain among other things.
We also get to know why Aspen is the way she is.
This is a dark and somewhat disturbing look into what can become of us if we let our demons determine our thoughts and actions.
Aspen is a just a girl fighting her demons. She is somewhere between a siren, luring victims to their deaths, and a succubus, using sex to satisfy her darker carnal desires. As she makes her way from town to town she teaches lessons to her victims. Her traveling companion, Ethan, is fighting with demons of his own. Will Aspen finally teach Ethan the lesson she should've taught him when they first met or will they continue their Bonnie & Clyde-style murder-streak? This story will leave you on the edge of your seat and yearning for more of Aspen! This story will hopefully be part of a series. Virginia Johnson nailed suspense, horror, passion, and drama with this story. Be sure to add this book to your collection!
I loved Vindicate, it is a continuation of a story titled Revenge which is also in the book. This was a thrilling read about two strong-willed tormented souls. I believe, what I enjoyed most is with each page turn, I didn't know what was going to happen but I knew whatever occurred, that scene would be memorable. As stated before, I love this book, from the cover art to the very last page. Definitely enjoyed the main characters, Aspen and Ethan, can't get enough of them. Aspen is a bad-ass and Ethan just exudes sexiness. After reading Revenge and Vindicate, I look forward to reading other stories created by this author because she has definitely gained a fan-girl.
Another quick read for me from Ms.Johnson. I found the alluring cat and mouse game between Aspen and Ethan to be entertaining. Aspen has a need to punish and leaves a trail of blood in her wake with the help of the somewhat reluctant Ethan. But now he is leaving a trail of blood behind him as well. When it comes time for the final show down will either one be left standing? This book does contain some hot sexy scenes, along with blood and violence so please keep that in mind before picking this book up if any of these are turns off's for you.
Loved it!! On a path of "Revenge" and "Vindication" Aspen takes no prisoners, and leaves no loose ends. Ethan and Aspen together are a deadly team, of psychopaths called together by blood and lust. As this fast paced story unravels we learn more about Aspen and why she feels the need to justify the wrongs of others. Although it would be perfectly fine for the book to end here, I want more; I hope we haven't seen the end of Aspen. Rock on Virginia - this fan wants more!!!
Loved this book especially since part1 Revenge is included and you can just follow on with the story. There is something special about the main character Aspen that you have to love her even though she seems kind of crazy. The love hate that she has with Ethan is amazing on their road trip and we learn so much more about Aspen and what brought her to this point in her life. I'm left wanting more and find out a bit more about their pasts.❤
Holy Hell to start off with this is a dark, twisted, bloodfest, and I won't change a thing! This is a continuation of a story titled Revenge, Aspen oh what can I say... She is one bat-shit crazy girl. I love it.. Ethan you are one stupid MF. There's sex, blood, pool sticks lol, and Fire! Never ever cheat is the moral of this story. Virginia Johnson your brain is awesome. Once again this is not a YA book. It is a fantastic ride through a Psychopathic Killers mind.
SUCH A DIRTY PSYCHIOTIC DARK READ!!!!! WE ALL KNOW I WON'T GIVE SPOILERS BUT...HOLY VIRGINIA JOHNSON. I WILL ONLY TELL YOU THIS ONE LITTLE BIT. THE WAY THAT VIRGINIA KNOCKS YOU ON YOUR BUTT WITH ETHAN AND ASPEN IS JUST INSANE. THIS BOOK IS RAW AND REALLY FORCES YOU TO GO DOWN DEEP INSIDE THE DARKEST CORNERS OF YOUR MIND THAT ARE HIDDEN AWAY FOR A REASON. AGAIN GREAT READ CAN'T WAIT TO JUMP INTO HER NEXT BOOK!
