I was very impressed by this author's first book. It was a great mystery with a couple of surprise twists. The characters felt real and well-developed. I liked how Ms. Houston added bits and pieces to the actions and dialogue of the characters to help me get to know them better. But my favorite aspect of this novel was the concept of a palm reader. I felt that the author was so clever to create this 'app'and used it in an interesting and imaginative way. I think it's such a good idea that it might be stolen by an app developer...it seemed rather like a Magic 8 Ball from my childhood. I'm looking forward to reading the next book to see what twists and turns challenge the palm reader app and our unwilling detective in the future.

Engaging

A quick read with a good story line. The Palm Reader added to the mystery. I want to know how it works.
