Rate this book

Read finished in 4 hours but I was deeply impressed. This woman is a greatest mother and wife . I think she and marlon are truely loving each other from beginning till the end , just in a inappropriate way . They love with hurting each other to express the love hidden love which I am not sure if marlon knows it .. their love is magic and beautiful but what is the most pitiful in this relationship is their family .Too many people deaths and psychological mental problems involved doomed they cannot obtain happiness like a usual family does .

“you know, Tarita, I still love you. I waited and now you’re here”

This book is so underrated, I think this is one of the greatest memoir i’ve ever read. The story is heart breaking and Tarita is such a strong woman. She had to surpass all those obstacles, and yet she’s still here.

I really like the fact that even when Marlon was being an asshole, she still tried to explain his actions by picking passages from Brando’s autobiography.
That’s very sad to think that a woman -and more generally all the Brando family- has to go through all that.

Moreover, the contrast that Tarita faced between her island girl initial life and her evolution in the hollywood world is really striking, all along the book she compares herself to her brothers and sisters all living simple lives in Tahiti, and yet being happier than her.

Even though their relationship was kinda controversial I think that it was a very beautiful and romantic story -yet not ethical ofc-, and that they showed each other love through despair, which in some way remind me of a song that could make lana del rey lol

Uz svu slavu, moć i novac, nesreća svuda.

Bezbroj ljubavnica.

Takav način života što ga većina slavnih osoba vode, jednostavno nije rješenje.

Fantastic Book, Tarita is so honest and sincere, i felt her pain and torment, she has suffered a lot and frankly her life had been ruined by Marlon Brando even if she wouldn't admit it herself..
