Keegan Kennedy

Originally hailing from Mississippi, Keegan Kennedy is a writer based out of Memphis, TN. As a child, sometimes his active imagination was the only friend that he had. Following a degree in History from the University of Southern Mississippi, Keegan floated around the corporate while dreaming of telling stories. His first novellas were in the arena of male-for-male erotica and romance. His earlier efforts were soon followed by success when his novel, Homecoming, went to Number One in on the LGBT charts in four countries: Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He has a knack for uncovering love and romance in the darkest of places. With a tendency toward the melodramatic, he does more than arouse or excite the reader - he engages them.

His current release is the epic novel: The Harbinger – a chilling, apocalyptic tale of survival that decimated stereotypes and shocked his fans. Upcoming works include – a TBA romance between two anti-heroes. And by popular demand, he is re-mastering his older novellas into his new anthology series, the cheekily-named: Smooth Jocks and Gruff Jocks.

"I want to sincerely thank all of my readers! Because of you, I have spoken to and made new friends from across the globe on every continent with the exception of Antarctica - to my knowledge. Your kind words and encouragement have meant the world to me. I answer all emails, so feel free to contact me."

I'm a big fan of Keegan Kennedy's gay porn erotica. I really like the very raw, earthy quality of the sex, and the primal, almost bestial attraction between the MCs.

Kennedy's cover art has improved a thousand fold recently (I'm almost disappinted; some of the early ones are among my cherished campy favourites e.g.
Cops and Robbers by Keegan Kennedy

I also think Kennedy's writing here is much better than works like The Son I Never Had. There's better sense of pacing, and more character development.

However for me, personally, the plot of this one didn't appeal. I'm all for the toppy ex-Marine fucking his step-brother, but I wanted a little more domination and less sap. I enjoyed the restrained, slow buildup between Lucas and Dane, although I would have liked Lucas to be a little less TSTL. I'm also not sure if I buy Lucas sharing every little detail with his best girl. The first fuck was great. However from 38%, with the expressions of love, and the flawless plan for domestic bliss, that I lost interest. (And I'm giving Keegan a very rare free pass on the "I am the man, and I will pay the bills. You're the wife and you’ll do all the cooking, cleaning and washing of clothes" crap. Because it's a fantasy. But that bit? Not my fantasy.)

I think if Keegan can meld the longer length and character development of this story with the raw possessiveness of and light violence of
Cops and Robbers then there's a cracker of a story coming. I'll be looking for his next work avidly.

Parts of this story were just so cheesy with really long sex scenes etc etc and after a while I skimmed through them, but overall it was such a funny story. It felt like watching a soap on TV with so much drama and exaggeration.

There were some scenes where I laughed and laughed because they were just so overly dramatic. The best scene was the big reveal to the parents at the end. Really funny dialogue.

All in all and cheese apart this story has its own kind of comedy. It was funny. It had some plot, a lot of exaggeration, some rather peculiar characters, some rather 'avant garde' sex.

A rather OTT story but very very amusing.

If you're reading Keegan Kennedy, you know what you're going to get... and this is more of that. I enjoyed the playful tone to this one. It's easy to tell Lucas is having fun here, and there's enough family dynamics info to explain it all away.

Super raunchy, and perfect for when you're in the mood.

Audio is really nicely performed by Scott R. Smith. It's plain this is one of his earlier jobs, but his enthusiasm and dramatic flair is definitely already there.

A quickie:

First of all, we cannot take this seriously. The insta-love was unbelievable ridiculous and the story couldn’t be more cheese.

We have Dane Bolton, a dominant marine with a kinky side and completely obsessed with Lucas.

And Lucas,  a boy with a deep and mostly untouched submissive nature.

 :

Now, despite a bizarre sexual behavior here and there the story delivers in spades what I was looking for: smutty talk and filthy HOT MM action.

...

Homecoming is kinky smut at its best. Don’t expect much more than that.

The plot was interesting and the initial sex scene was hot, and then...

I read MM stories because I like MEN! I don’t understand why authors insist on introducing male/female terms and dynamics into books about gay men.

Specifically, I can let one or two of the following terms slide in a book, but after that, I find them distracting and off putting:

-his boy/man pussy
-his boy gash
-his boy slit
-he’s the wife
-he’s the girl
-etc.

And to be clear, a submissive can be responsible for the cooking and cleaning without equating him to being the “girl in the relationship.” Domestic discipline can be a real and valid component of BDSM. Insisting on equating a man who does the laundry as filling the role of a woman is sexism and it is just plain lazy writing.

Read Homecoming and then had to see if the audiobook was as good.
Of course it is smoking hot. Dane is a very domineering man.
Dane and Lucas play in bondage and paddling and chastity devices.
They have great chemistry together. I wish there was more.
Maybe someday we will see them as they get older together and what kind of naughty kinky things they do.
Very enjoyable. Keegan Kennedy writes good kink.

I'm actually very proud of myself for finishing this book. Though I'm not sure what kept me moving along with it (I suppose, I was just curious if it could get any more ridiculous) but I made it in the end. This book is probably about what happens when you push a borderline of one of the subgenres in MM with its typical main characters ad absurdum. I remember someone saying that if you meet every single one claim of the certain genre, you'll most probably end up creating a parody. Well, maybe it's what happened here.
Take our MC: Dane is your typical alpha male in extreme (I'm quite sure that many of alpha shifters from e.g. Lynn Hagen's books would run for the hills if they met him). He's a muscle-bound giant with a monstrous cock and equally big smelly and always sweaty feet that would awaken a dead person from their eternal sleep. Ok, I admit I can't make myself understand how could be smelly feet a big turn on but to each his own. Let's continue, Dane is also a military hero whom everyone worships, he's domineering and you would use him as a great example for an explanation of gender stereotypes. He's a Man that doesn't cook, doesn't clean and even though he's gay he doesn't suck cock..like never, since its his wife's job. To be fair, they do have D/s relationship so it could be related but I had so many issues with the whole D/s thing that I won't even go there. As for Lucas, he's Dane's wife with a super tight boy hole that Dane's gonna breed till the end of his life. Now you can imagine the way dirty talk went too...All in all it so didn't work for me.

Okay, it was smutty. That's about it. I actually laughed quite a bit. I'm not one to doubt anyone's kinks but sometimes, when written as this was, I can't help it. I think this could be a nice story if a really good editor got involved. If I could do a search for exclamation points, I would. (I actually tried but it didn't work.) The whole book seemed like these guys were shouting at each other. Their relationship is rushed and is seemingly very unbelievable. It had potential, hense the two stars.

3.5 stars. Porn-tastic. Insta-love (which I hate) and totally unrealistic with very little character development. But I loved it anyway!!!

Although total fantasy, this book is a fun sexy read. Dean is so over the top controlling and Lucas is so submissive that it’s practically a parody of a Dom/Sub relationship. Still, the sex was hot to read. I don’t think I’d actually enjoy having someone’s dirty socks stuck in my mouth.

Wtf did I just read. What the flying fuckity fuck did I just read 😱😱😱.

Y’all there were « crusty and damp jock socks » used as a gag during sex in this book. And the gagged MC was sucking all the smelly toe sweat juice out of it with great relish 🤢🤮😭. I can’t. I really hope I’m not kink shaming anyone, but I just can’t. For God sake Goodreads, is it not enough to convince you to implement a way for us to give 0 star to a book? 😰

Yooooooooo!!!!!😂

What in the Smut did I just listen too
And why did I listen to it again back to back.😎

OK so have you ever closed your eyes while a porno was on and just listen to it? This was EXACTLY what this put me in the mindset of. Just str8 up porn. One of those like 70's porns with the guys with tube socks on...

Omg... The socks, the feet, the jock straps. I was like yooo this is crazy!! I can't even deal.

This was definitely a different type of listen. But hey I'm a sadomasochist so I personally enjoyed the story line. The narrator was OK. Not anyone I would go look up again in particular however.

Homecoming is the first book I have read by Keegan, and I will continue with this writer's library. I wanted to give this book 5 stars, but I took issue with Dane calling Lucas the woman/girlfriend/wife of their relationship. It is offensive. While I enjoyed the couple's various kinks, the descriptors of sexual interactions were distracting. The use of phrases such as "boy paste" and "man meat" didn't come across as sexy. They were especially off putting on the audio version. Overall, I liked the premise and despite the troublesome verbiage, I would recommend this fast read.

Another book I enjoyed by Keegan Kennedy. Step brother kink this time around. It is as it says it is. Foot fetish, toppy older step brother with a big schlong and an obsession. Not M/M romance, although there are declarations of love. Full review at http://ontopdownunderbookreviews.com/...

•3 stars but actually 2, though I’m rounding up because—reasons•

You know how you click on an author’s Goodreads profile and see that they’ve shelved books other than their own? That’s how I stumbled upon this one—lucky happenstance, or maybe unlucky, idk💁🏾‍♀️

The insta-love was wild, the kinks were kinking (sometimes too much for my taste), and the ripe man smells were practically wafting off the screen. Meanwhile, the humor—paired with a myriad of exclamation points—made certain aspects feel absurd and corny, like an unintentional comedy.

I didn’t hate it, but I can’t say I liked it all that much either. Honestly, I had more fun ‘talking shit’ between the margins. That said, I am curious about Kennedy’s other novels and whether the smut is as…earthy as this one. It was definitely interesting—even if my lip kept curling into my nose🤧

This book isn't horrendous, its alarming, frightening, and a justification for abuse, both physical & mental. It freaked me out, and the characterisation such as it was made matters worse.

Overview of a troubled mind:

The troubled mind in question is the authors, and every person who reads this and finds it acceptable to classify this rape smut as 'romance'.

First off, there is a huge gap between the reality of uber-kink in a relationship of loving partners... and a twisted coupling where one member of the duo basically has to surrender their entire identity. Lucas, only 18 remember, is somehow brainwashed/convinced that by giving up his future as a smart, independent kid with a bright future is 'love'. In exchange? He gets tonnes of kinky sex by a muscled marine... who is 21 and probably better placed to have a clearer idea of 'who' he is and 'what' he wants/needs from life. This book is a story where a vulnerable 18 year old (who has just finished high school) is warped beyond repair by someone who is clearly an abuser.

And if this rape smut turns you on, and makes you think its love - you have major fucking issues pal.

Stockholm syndrome meets stereotypical yaoi 'learn to love it' rape-abuse. It really sickens me. This book is utterly worse than garbage, its a terrifying insight into the mind of this author, and his 'fans'.

Poorly researched:

This author has clearly not conducted research into 'the scene' either. He confuses the concept of tops and bottoms with the realm of barely consensual sex. The lines dividing healthy sex and submission; where partners spend some time engaging in total domination & total submission; with the totally unacceptable realm of slave and master. Lucas in this story is compelled to surrender his personality, his independence, his freedoms and even his friendships permanently in return for an older guy fucking his young, deeply impressionable, brains out.

This author somehne ignores the massive difference between s&m as I've described it (and I'm a member of 'the scene' so to speak) with the master-slave shit, which would make even a hedonist blush and barf.

Temporary time set aside for needs exploration is one thing. The total surrender of an entire life to what ought to be a hobby is a sign of mental illness. Fact. And the fact the youngest member is someone who has just finished high school makes this plot even more alarming... as it bends the issue of educated consent with the scene, homosexuality and 'if they say yes its okay'... its more bloody complicated than that.

Characterisation failures:

Its non-existent. Tom & Jerry have more characterisation developed in their crappy cartoons than these two in this whole rape-cum-abuse festival.

Plot:

What plot? Oh you mean the one where the super-muscled marine comes home to complete the take-over of the life of a kid he's fantasised about since that kid (lucas) as 13? Yeah... that plot...

Don't ever read this, except as a surreal voyage into a troubled set of minds. Fancy a fright night to upset your kaleidoscope of what constitutes informed consent? Sure, go ahead. But this filth makes Edgar Allan Poe's Gothic revivalism appear saintly and well rounded.
I'm sorry I even read this. I don't believe in censoring books, but if I did - this one would disappear of the face of existence forever for its base attempt to legitimate rape, Stockholm syndrome & abuse.

I'm five staring this fucker. That's right, five big hairy cliche smutty boy-batter cringy stars. We've got shameless tropes, we've got some of the hottest/most cringeworthy dirty talk I've ever heard (and trust me, the audiobook is totally worth the listen), we've got terrible bdsm etiquette, we've got step-bro bromance..... And it's got FIVE FUCKING STARS FROM ME! I don't know why. I really don't. i think its the same reason why I love the movie The Room. It's like there's so much that should make me groan and throw my iPod, but when viewed as a whole, it just works. Like pointillism paintings...you gotta step back, because up close, it's kind of a mess but just shut off that brain a little and bask in the fact that one MC "does NOT suck dick" but will "eat your boy pussy"...just let it sink in a bit. And remember, it's not love if it doesn't hurt.

Hot fantasy, but somewhat awkward with realism

Parts of this story were very hot, but there were others that completely turned me off. I didn't like the insistence that Dane being dominant, and a top, meant that he was the "man". Neither submission, nor bottoming, are inherently feminine and its irritating to read. I also wasn't thrilled that Dane had some kind of D/s relationship in his mind, but several times, he removed any way for Lucas to communicate potential distress - what the did may have been sane, and consensual, but it wasn't safe.

I did like that Dane truly was concerned for Lucas, and that he did check that Lucas was ok with their play after the fact, at the very least. I did find it curious that Dane never used lube, and instead always had lotion around.

Juvenile.

There is a lot to be said for subtlety in plot and character building it just isn't there in this one. I was after a story of D/S, abuse of power, mature alpha male, and a young twink being taken advantage of.

These aspects were touched on but went undeveloped. The twink far too eager and worshipful and the alpha male lacking maturity and depth.

Also: If I had known there would be toe sucking and the like I would not have considered this book at all. I think kinks should be labeled; not to the point of absurdity, some warning would be appreciated.

At first when i read the review i wasn't sure i was going to like it but i read it anyway the book was fucking awesome.
Dane and Lucas may be opposites they may be step brothers but you know what they say opposites attract and it was a huge and dark attraction. The way they have dirty, sexy and hot sex under their parents roof and how huge Dane was which i'm freaking loving just wow!!!
I've read it more than four times i wanted to see more when they would take their bdsm bondage much farther. I think i have a nosebleed now and my eyes freakin hurt but it was worth it.

This is an interesting one, because I really did enjoy this book. I wasn't really sold on the premise of the story, and I didn't really care much for either of the protagonists: Dane and Lucas. What I did like about the book was that it was well written and well thought out and I do love domination/submission stories. I didn't much care for the premise, but the author pretty much made it believable. If you like well written gay domination stories you will like this.

I’ve had The Harbinger series for years – I’ll get to them promise – but this is my first Keegan Kennedy book, and boy was I not ready for this. For some reason, I thought it was a sweet little MM romance. It’s not, not really. It’s almost pure erotica with just enough story – to keep edging ;), I’m joking – to justify the romance label.

The story is hot, and there’s enough of a build-up, a raw primal quality between the main characters' interactions and in their intimate scenes, but there are quite a few things that dampened my enjoyment. Dane’s whole confession about when and how he first got attracted to Lucas was a tad creepy for me, and then Dane’s attitude about being the man and wanting Lucas to be his kept woman was unnecessary. At least he didn’t mind him going to college.
Besides that the way Kennedy made some intimate practices, that hold no interest to me, hot and entertaining is a skill. However, there were a few parts of it that I zombie read* but overall I liked it enough to seek out other books he wrote in that genre and bumped The Harbinger up a few spots on my TBR list.
