Cassandra Clare
200 books278k followersCassandra Clare was born to American parents in Tehran, Iran and spent much of her childhood travelling the world with her family, including one trek through the Himalayas as a toddler where she spent a month living in her father’s backpack. She lived in France, England and Switzerland before she was ten years old.
Since her family moved around so much she found familiarity in books and went everywhere with a book under her arm. She spent her high school years in Los Angeles where she used to write stories to amuse her classmates, including an epic novel called “The Beautiful Cassandra” based on a Jane Austen short story of the same name (and which later inspired her current pen name).
After college, Cassie lived in Los Angeles and New York where she worked at various entertainment magazines and even some rather suspect tabloids where she reported on Brad and Angelina’s world travels and Britney Spears’ wardrobe malfunctions. She started working on her YA novel, City of Bones, in 2004, inspired by the urban landscape of Manhattan, her favourite city. She turned to writing fantasy fiction full time in 2006 and hopes never to have to write about Paris Hilton again.
Cassie’s first professional writing sale was a short story called “The Girl’s Guide to Defeating the Dark Lord” in a Baen anthology of humor fantasy. Cassie hates working at home alone because she always gets distracted by reality TV shows and the antics of her cats, so she usually sets out to write in local coffee shops and restaurants. She likes to work in the company of her friends, who see that she sticks to her deadlines.
City of Bones was her first novel. Sword Catcher is her most recent novel.

AAAAAAAH.
Estoy maravillado con este libro. Me esperaba algo mucho más serio y formal, pero es una guía de personajes a todo color llena de curiosidades y anécdotas. Lo que más me ha sorprendido es que Cassie le dedica incluso líneas a secundarios muy secundarios, así como nos muestra cosas que jamás pensaríamos de personajes como Valentine.
Las ilustraciones de Cassandra Jean son PRECIOSAS. De verdad. La elección de colores y cómo se conjugan con el resto de las páginas me parece muy acertado y le da un toque a los personajes únicos. Es como que sientes si son débiles o fuertes, si te miran a los ojos o si rehuyen tu mirada.
Me ha sorprendido mucho ya no solo la edición y el contenido que nos presenta Cassie, sino también que son como 100 personajes con nombre completo, apellidos, fecha de nacimiento y demás detalles concretos. O sea, hija, tienes una base de datos increíble.
En fin, si eres fan de Cazadores de Sombras no te lo pierdas porque hay detalles jugosos y merece mucho la pena

I got this today in the mail and I spent a solid hour going through all the illustrations and descriptions. The artwork is so beautiful and it's just the perfect add on for any Shadowhunter fan.

This is a great addition for all fans of the Shadowhunter world. It's a must-have for your collection!
The illustrations are absolutely fantastic and are so beautifully done!! Truly though, the drawings are breathtaking!! This is more of a picture book with character bio's and short summaries of character information. I am really happy that I got this :D

I miei complimenti vanno, questa volta, per la prima volta, alla Mondadori che ha fatto un lavoro eccellente.
Cover fantastica, bellissima, colori meravigliosi, disegni perfetti.
È un libro di qualità, da collezione e si vede!
Il contenuto è un’altra storia, per me è una storia d’amore!
Le descrizioni sono divertenti e interessanti e, come sempre, Cassandra Clare dice e non dice, da indizi, gioca con il lettore così che io, adesso, IN QUESTO MOMENTO, vorrei avere tra le mani tutta la trilogia di TLH, per non parlare degli ultimi due volumi di TDA!
Ma quello che colpisce al cuore, che lascia senza fiato sono i disegni della Jean.
Belli, pieni di particolari, ho continuato a scrutarli come un falco in cerca di possibili indizi, di qualcosa che mi era sfuggito….
Questo libro è arte e l’arte è sempre meravigliosa in tutte le sue forme!

5/5 ~ I am going to London tomorrow and finished my book yesterday so I had a spare night and decided to pick this one. THE ILLUSTRATIONS OMG I’m screaming!!! So beautiful😍 I wanted more details in the characters’ “descriptions” section but it’s okay like that too, you meet them while reading the series, so let’s simply have a fantastic characters book with breathtaking drawings!!

HERMOSO.
Cassandras al cuadrado, si siguen sacando cosas así de lindas, me dejarán en la miseria.
Desde que supe iban a sacar un libro de cartas florales, supe que iba a ser mío.
Me gustó mucho porque tiene pequeños facts de cada personaje, cosas divertidas, que no supimos con los libros y mientras leía me reí en varias partes, y a eso hay que sumarle el maravilloso trabajo de Cassandra Jean. Primero las cartas del tarot, ahora las florales. Si sigue así quedaré en la pobreza.
Un libro único, con ilustraciones hermosas y como dije antes, cada personaje (incluso Presidente Miau e Iglesia) tiene facts que lo hace muy interesante porque de otra forma no nos hubiéramos enterado de ellos.

Complimentissimi alla Mondadori per il lavoro splendido fatto, è un'edizione stupenda e curata nei minimi dettagli.
I disegni della Jean sono splendidi, è perfettamente riuscita ad entrare in sintonia con la Clare, rappresentando i personaggi come li immaginavo!
Le descrizioni mi hanno fatta ridere!

This is one of those must-have collection books for the Shadowhunter Chronicles. It has a beautifully drawn photo of each character in every released series (though The Last Hours is included) and a description of the character. It is great to have in your bookshelf for some reference if needed.

Πολύ όμορφη η εικονογράφιση της Cassandra Jean, αν και κάποιους από τους χαρακτήρες εγώ τουλάχιστον τους φανταζόμουν λίγο διαφορετικούς! Ενώ μου άρεσε επίσης πολύ και το ότι συνδύαζε τον καθέναν από αυτούς και με ένα λουλούδι που να ταιριάζει στην προσωπικότητα τους!

These illustrations are honestly something else, they're so stunning and bring all the characters to life so beautifully! Glad I now own this gorgeous book as it was nice to flick through and see familiar faces, as well as new ones too!
I will definitely be constantly referring back to this book as I read/reread the books set in the shadowhunters universe as I feel like it will genuinely add something special to them.

Le descrizioni sono belle, interessanti e alcune anche divertenti, ma sono più che altro degli aneddoti quasi completamente inutili ai fini della storia. Speravo in qualcosa di più utile, come un riassunto delle cose importanti sui vari personaggi come promemoria, per non dover tutte le volte cercare l'informazione nei vari libri.
Sostanzialmente non aggiunge quasi nulla di nuovo, tranne per quei pochi personaggi che ancora non conosciamo, ma questo non fa altro che aumentare la curiosità e l'impazienza.
Voglio il resto di TDA e TLH ORA!
Tra l'altro, non capisco perché per la maggior parte dei personaggi siano stati inseriti i nomi completi, con tanto di secondo nome e secondo cognome, mentre per altri è stato messo solo il nome più comune e conosciuto. Okay che dovrebbe essere un approfondimento e che il libro è da collezione, ma proprio per questo mi da un po' fastidio. Sono pignola.

Nonostante questo, devo dire che quelli di Isabelle, Maryse, Clary, Jocelyn, Emma, Helen e del piccolo Max (Lightwood-Bane) mi sono piaciuti molto.
➽ Prezzo: decisamente esagerato per il libro che è. Certo, potevo anche non comprarlo, però Shadowhunters è tra le mie saghe preferite quindi non ho saputo resistere.
Lady Midnight almeno è un librone di 650 pagine!

I just bought this book a matter of hours ago (finally!) and devoured it not long after! It was so wonderful reading about all of my favourite characters and seeing different sides to them that weren't explored in the books.
I am absolutely in love with Cassandra Jean's artworks, they are utterly mesmerizing!
Cassandra Clare's character blurbs brought up feelings of curiosity for characters I didn't know yet (such as those that will appear in TLH), strong feelings of warm nostalgia for those I love and cherish (the TID characters especially, and of course the TMI characters! not to forget the TftSA characters. Okay, basically,all of them!). Her warm character descriptions inevitably brought a smile to my face and forced out affectionate chuckles (sorry, I'm in a bit of a poetic mood today!), with descriptions like "Church is currently retired and lives on the beach."and "Usually hired by producers who crave a dash of true showbiz magic, [Malcolm] has been known to become too invested in the storylines of films, relentlessly pushing for happy endings. He doesn't have many repeat clients.".
This book is just so beautiful! I cherish it so much and thoroughly enjoy flipping through it, once again, reconnecting with my favourite characters of all time <3 :)

EDIT: Dnes som prelistoval finálne dáta poslednýkrát a musím povedať, že je to jedna z najkrajších kníh. Tie ilustrácie sú fakt nádherné. A ešte sme sa s tým aj pekne vyhrali aby to bolo ešte krajšie ako originál kúsok. No teším sa, až to bude!!!

Ani neviem, ako sa to stalo a už to mám prečítané.
Vidim to však tak, že zakaždým keď budem mať stresujúci deň, tak túto knihu len vyberiem z poličky a začnem si ju listovať. Okamžite sa stratím v Tieňosvete a jeho postavách.
