The Orion Series, Book 2

**Author's Note: This book was previously published in 2009**

As a member of the legendary Serpentian guard, Tessa Alligon has been trained to kill, with her bare hands if necessary. And with her legs? She can take a strong man where no man's gone before. But when Captain Craig walks into the first Orion crew briefing, Tessa falls head over heels. Now to get the handsome commander to see how perfect they could be together.

Captain Steve Craig is a Space Forces veteran on his first peace-time assignment. The bridge of the huge, sleek space ship Orion is just what his battle-weary soul needs. But the alluring females in his ship's guard are strictly off limits … until PTSD knocks out this tough, ex-soldier, and Tessa is there to catch him.

Their first embrace flames hot enough to heat the cold of deep space. But Craig knows the liaison is a mistake, and one he can't afford to make again. Too bad he now has a hissing viper by the tail--one with revenge on her mind. Tessa aims to show him she's not a woman to be trifled with, and she doesn't mind doing it in front of the entire crew.

When Steve learns a saboteur is hiding on board his ship, perhaps even in the Orion's ships guard, he now wonders … is Tessa merely a woman scorned? Or is she the saboteur he must stop at all costs?

The second Orion series book

Captain Steve Craig doesn't mix business with pleasure, his romances happen off the ship so as to not cause a conflict of interest later. Tessa Alligon is a cadet with Serpentian Guard aboard the Orion.
Tessa and Steve have chemistry and being partnered for hand to hand combat training only enhances that.

When Tessa and Captain Steve have a hot and steamy night of no holds barred sex and then Steve tells Tessa it can never happen again things get tense.

As with the first Orion book we have a sub-plot involving other characters that provides for more action and suspense. Once again we have a fantastic mixture of sci-fi, romance, action and suspense.
The universe created for these novels is amazingly complex without being so involved that you need a map and a users guide to keep up.

This second book in the series is as good as the first, without a doubt another panty wringer to enjoy.

The Orion had a tough journey last time out with saboteurs trying to waylay the ship in the worst way possible, so everyone's a little on edge this time around. Throw in a little sexual tension (and by a little, I mean a lot) between the captain and one of the Serpentian guards along with another plot to down the big ship and things get even more tangled.

Actually, the entanglement doesn't happen right away. Mostly because the captain isn't one to dally among crew. No matter how many signals they're throwing out. It isn't until Tessa offers him comfort during a bad spell that things start to get sticky. And by sticky, I mean sexy. Rawr!

Unfortunately, with a potential saboteur aboard, the captain has to be wary of everyone, including the woman who's starting to worm her way into his heart. Which, as you can imagine, makes for some tense moments between them.

Aliens, honor, some not so good people doing some not so good things, sexy times, and some booty-kicking ladies who aren't going to let their ship fall if they have anything to say about it. Yessssss.

Love how these stories all intertwine so cleverly. The Orion is a space cruiser owned by Logan Stark from the LodeStar series.
Tessa is a cadet guard aboard the Orion. She is half Serpentian and half human and wants to do well.
Captain of the Orion Steve Craig has a no relationship/sex mindset with his crew. Understandable. But these two cannot help but gravitate to each other with lots of body chemistry.
When they give in and spend the night together, Tessa wants to see where they could head but Steve puts a rather cold stop to anymore happening.
Feeling used, Tessa flaunts her newfound sexual liberation but things keep getting in the way of her taking any of the other crew members up on their offers.
Attitude and feelings are very tense between these two.
It all comes to ahead with a background plot along the same lines as book one with attempts being made to blow up or hijack the ship. The saboteurs aboard are using Tessa as a scapegoat.
I loved the action in this and the humour as Tessa started stretching her sexual wings which drove Steve nuts.

Good steady read. Looking forward to the final two books. One item of note - The author seems to have forgotten her own writings. The crew leaders expressed regret at not making Tryon and Calla's wedding (Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright). In the book, they were there.

Hot and heavy

Another great book from Cathryn Cade. The second of the Orion books does not disappoint. Great story just as steamy as the first, so sit back and enjoy the ride
