This is it.

Sixteen-year-old orphan Dru Anderson has faced down suckers, zombies, and wulfen without flinching. And now that she's bloomed into a full-fledged svetocha, she doesn't even need a gun. But the Real World is still a frightening place . . . and things are about to get ugly. Really ugly.

Dru Anderson has escaped with her life, but she's not out of the woods yet. She's on the lam in a stolen car with her best friend Graves riding shotgun and a Broken wulf named Ash curled up in the backseat. Desperate, Dru heads deep into the Appalachian Mountains to the one place she thinks they'll be safe. But her grandmother's wards and enchantments can't keep Dru's scent from the suckers for long – especially when Dru is betrayed by the one person she trusts most.

It's all come down to this.

ONE battle. ONE choice. ONE final sacrifice.

DRU ANDERSON'S NOT AFRAID OF THE DARK.
BUT SHE SHOULD BE.

I just finished and I have a lot going through my head, so bare with me as I try to work it out into words.

Strange Angels is one of my favorite series. I love all three main characters, Dru, Graves and even Christophe. I love the dark and dirty writing and this last book of the series was excellent. There are certainly things that I will be complaining about in a bit, but as a whole I was pleased with the way the plot was finished.

I would also like to comment that someone mentioned a spin-off. I don't know if it's true or not, but I hope to God if there is a spin-off it's not about Graves as the main character and if it is....there better not be another love triangle or I'm going on strike! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!

Look how tough and rebellious Dru looks on the cover! ^_^
So sad that it's the last in an awesome series :(

UPDATE: Less than a month to go! BOO-YAH! *blows vuvuzela*

ANOTHER UPDATE:
Holy sheeeiiiiiiiiiiit.
AWESOME.
Loved it from beginning to end, and I especially loved the neutral ending. However, I was expecting Sergej's death to be a bit more, I dunno, dramatic...

Loved Dru's kick-ass mentality, and her persistence and loyalty to her friends, even if they didn't always deserve it. Graves was kinda bipolar in this book, no? But then again, he had been put through a lot. Listening in on Dru's mental thought processes was hilarious, and made me love her even more. She is definitely up there with Rose Hathaway and Cat Crawfield (can't remember where the 'Russell' part goes) in the Female Kick-Ass League (yeah, I just made that up).

"You're too old for me. You're scary. It’s creepy that you were so all over my mom and now you’re all over me."

RATING: 1.5 out of 5

Well that was shit. Terrible. How can you have such an awesome series of books and end it with this. This book does not do the series justice and honestly, i really didnt like it. It had a shit ending and it was just errr crappy crapp crapp!!!!!

Want to know who she ended up with: Team

This novel centered around Dru running away from all the dhampirs that are after her on Sergej's orders and shes just running for her life most of the novel and when she isnt doing that shes fighting for her life, and of course the books ends predictably with Dru

Im sooo dissapointed with this book, i really didn't like it. I wish i never read it, as it now ruins the entire series for me knowing that this is how it all ended... You know what else you didnt even find out what Dru's full name is!!! I thought we would have found out but noooooo you don't! I can't believe how pissed of I am. Stupid book.

I'm going to start this rantview by stating that I love me some Lilith Saintcrow. I love her "Jill Kismet" series. I have hopes for her "Dante Valentine" series. I enjoyed her "Strange Angels" series & while the last three books made me want to smother Dru with my god-sister's Hello Kitty Tiger Pillow, I stuck it out like the book masochist/loyal fan I am. But this? This is WTFsauce with a side of "Bitch, Please!"

I cannot believe she did this. I can't. I'm in shock. Somebody bitch slap me out of this nightmare. If it wasn't bad enough what went down in "Reckoning", a friend links me to Saintcrow's post which pretty much says (to me) that us fans are a bunch of dumbasses for thinking that a part of this series revolves around the love triangle between Dru/Graves/Christophe.

Dru’s best friend, Graves, and her strange and handsome savior, Christophe, are ready to help her take on the ultimate evil. But will their battle for Dru’s heart get in the way of her survival?

That's in the blurb for Jealousy (Strange Angels, #3) by Lili St. Crow . *blink blink* *blink blink* Well, of course. Only a completely sane person would read that & not think "LOVE TRIANGLE!" Right? RIGHT?!? And all good love triangles must end. And here is where the inevitable spoilery comes in.

As others have said after reading this book, Cop Out. I debated on whether I should post this but it's been pissing me off since I finished this book & I've been told that ranting is very therapeutic & will aid in keeping you from ending up on Snapped. Or turning into that creepy dude in The Crow. So there you go. I still like Saintcrow but right now, this series can kick rocks. I haven't been this damn heated since Eugenie took her brain damaged ass to Slutville in daisy dukes & roller skates in Iron Crowned.

ETA: When I copied & pasted this rantreview from my word document, I accidentally left out a part. Even though it was written after the first spoiler tag, I'm going to put it here.

Now I'm done-in more ways than one.

I have mixed feelings about this book, and am going to (tentatively) give it a 2 star rating until my feelings about this book have solidified more.

The major strength of this series is the characters, and we do get to see everybody grow and change, which was a major plus. The sticking point for me is the ending.

Basically, I'm not sure that this book knew what it wanted to be--like the series as a whole, it jumps back and forth between funny and angsty, romantic and serious. While this can be handled well by some authors, as a reader, it felt like the author (or the publishing company) couldn't decide what kind of book (and series!) they wanted this to be.

Reckoning is the last book in the series. I have enjoyed this series, some books more than the others but overall it is a good series.

Dru kills Sergej and it's not exactly an epic battle as I had expected but it was okay.

Most of the things have been tied up nicely but it still feels unresolved. Like the love triangle. Graves leaves by saying that he needs to be worth her which was completely rubbish because he's been an amazing character right from the beginning and like Dru he's also been through so much. At least, Dru knew about the supernatural world since her childhood and Graves just gets thrown into it and no one even helps him to adjust at the beginning whilst everyone is helping Dru all the time. So I'd say he was worth her in fact much more than needed to be. Christophe stays behind and Dru tells him that she't not ready and he'll wait. Seriously?

Also, the author doesn't tell us what Dru is short for.

May be I expected more, may be the author promised more. I don't know what. I am not saying it is a bad book but it's also not the best book in the series but it was okay.

I literally cannot find an accurate reason to why I read the entire Strange Angels series.

The series was suggested to me by someone who said it was similar to Vampire Academy. I haven’t been in contact with that certain person in quite a while, but If I was, I would suggest the most dreadful and terrible series ever to be published, and be absolutely sure this particular person reads it.

Oh wait, I’m able to summon up a reason. It was the love triangle. I desperately needed to know who Dru ended up with, and I also wanted to know what the heroine’s name (Dru) was short for.

So, I was basically expecting just two things from this book to be delivered. Of course, at the end she doesn’t end up with anyone and the author never tells us what Dru is short for.

The whole plot consisted of:

Dru running
Dru getting caught but escapes

Dru running
Dru getting caught but escapes

Dru running
Dru getting caught – Dru not escaping until 30-40 pages later. (The final not so epic battle)

And I’m not even exaggerating. It seriously happened three times in the book. She run and got caught three times. How the fuck did she even survive? The plot is predictable right from book one. We all know our little worthless (I don’t care if she’s physically strong, she's still worthless) heroine is going to defeat the big bad evil antagonist.

After, completing the book I felt robbed of time. I realized that in the entire book there were only boring action scenes – no precise storyline besides fighting, punching and exploding dynamites. It was like watching a dull movie just for the cool visual effects.

Save yourself the time and don’t read the complete series.

Let me first start out by saying, I loved every other on of the books. They kept me reading and wanting the next one as soon as possible... but this one? I loved up until it started nearing the end. The whole time I'm getting closer to the end I was thinking "how is this going to be tied up in such a small amount of pages left" and soon my question would be answered. It wouldn't be tied up! Not a single loose end! We don't know what happened to Graves, Dru, Christophe, their love triangle, nothing! And I personally hated that! I was soooo excited to read this just to be let down.

In this post by Lilith SaintCrow, the author
http://www.lilithsaintcrow.com/forum/...

She tells us this isn't about "which boy will she choose, its about her growing up" but then why did she make the love triangle such a big part of the book, just to leave us hanging! I think it's wonderful that the story is about her growing up, but she left so much out in the open. When I read a series, I get very into it. Like I am following people on their journey and I have to say when I finished Reckoning I just felt...heartbroken you could say? I felt like all of the sudden I wasn't allowed to follow them on their journey and was just left hanging and that is a terrible feeling.

I guess in conclusion I can say, I loved it until the end. It would be a favorite series of mine if it just had an actually ending. I truly hope she writes more to the series but as of right now, I cannot recommend this to anyone. Too much left undone.

Warning: if you liked this book you may be offended by my review. If I could give this book NO stars I would.

WHAT THE FUCK? I just spent hours reading 5 books to get an ending like that. I want my time back! We have the love triangle throughout and instead of Dru picking one she goes all out for *girl power* ! Graves ditches her and she tells Chris she is crept out by him and he is too old. But she might pick him she just doesn't know. REALLY! I repeat I have read 5 books to get to this ending. Then we get some "lesbo" humor (authors word choice not mine) on the last page. Does Dru even want a man or is she into girls and if so why did we just read through 5 books of going back and forth between Graves and Chris?
I go back to my first words ... WHAT THE FUCK?

It isn't only about the love triangle. Christophe's Father(you know the one guy everyone wants to kill) is supposed to have been killed but in the end the question is stated that maybe he wasn't. Really... The bad guy may not have died.. I say again... WHAT THE FUCK?

Insert pic of me ripping my books apart and flushing the pages down my toilet! Just like I flushed my time away. What a waste.

Loved it! The entire book was action packed and had me cheering for a great YA heroine! 4.5 to 5 star book...easy.
Until the ending knocked it down to 3 stars.
*balloon deflates...*

I did sleep on this rating last night. If I had written this review yesterday, I probably would have rated it 2 stars. The vast majority of the book was good, though. Too bad about the lame-ass ending.

More reviews can be found at my blog: Nomalicious Reads

Being a big fan of the Strange Angel's series I was beyond excited to get my hands on Reckoning, the final book in the series to find out what would happen to Dru and her companions... then the book came out and not being able to wait patiently for it to get to my mailbox I started reading reviews zealously and became terrified.

That's right, reviews... made me terrified to read the end of one of my favourite series!

After I read some people's negative comments that the ending was 'shit' and other not so nice words I started to question and pick apart all the bad things that could happen at the end, that she could end up with the wrong guy, that everyone was going to DIE... so when Reckoning finally showed up in the mail I placed it wearily on the shelf next to the others in the series and backed away to a safe distance in case it exploded.

Not really.. I'm just being melodramatic, cause I'm awesome like that!

But no, I really did leave it on the shelf for too long, but putting my big girl pants on (an no not Bridget Jone's granny pants version) I finally picked up Reckoning, thinking 'Meh, what could be so bad?'

...Nothing really. After all my melodrama I found myself quite enjoying it, even the "horrible" ending wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. Sure I can see why everyone was chucking a hissy, but I thought that it was a satisfying ending for the book and for what Dru had been through, the conclusion reflected the person she was at that exact moment.

Was it a good ending for the end of a series? Hell no! It felt too much like an ending you would have knowing that there was another book coming, or a new series coming out shortly after... I would like to see more development more of a conclusion, a lot of the new problems that came out from the end of Reckoning deserve to be solved... So is Dru's story finished? I bloody well hope not! But hey who knows! (further investigation is needed on my part)

I'm satisfied, yet unsatisfied and it's possible that I wasn't raging mad because I expected the apocalypse of all endings.

So now that my little confession and rant is over I should probably talk about the rest of the book! Reckoning had what all the other Strange Angel books had...

Those being:

* Dru being an idiot at times and me wanting to kill her.
* Dru being her normal hilarious, kick-ass and snarky self.
* Graves... being kick-ass, yet still hot and nerdy.
* Christophe being douchey and hot at the same time.
* Ash being adorable!
* Running away from bad guy, being caught by bad guy, escaping again and kicking ass.
* Oh and of course the standard... Dru not being able to decide on which boy awesome guy or creepy yet hot old dude to choose.

Okay so you get the drift, I'm not mocking or anything, I actually like all these things... I must admit though I wanted more action, more romance and I found some things were just a repeat of all the other books rolled up to the bad guy actually dying this time. It was good yet I just wanted MORE!

I really really really really hope that Lili St. Crow isn't finished telling Dru's story because although I didn't mind the ending, there is just so much left unsaid, new mysteries to solve and definitely a lot of room for her to grow into the awesome leader she should be. (not to mention other character's development after what happens!)

Five books. Five books and the only thing we definitely know is that the bad guy got dead. Yes, I did say got dead sue me!

Five books and Dru ends up with a penny, instead of a hundred dollar bill. Readers divided themselves into Team Christophe and Graves only to be left holding the bag with this release and the subsequent decisions by both Graves and Dru. So, again, what was the point in continuing this series past the first three books?

Then there is the puzzling realization that Dru's family still has more secrets that they never told her. Secrets that nobody will end up learning the facts behind because this is the last book of the series!

So, again I ask, what was the point? I'm feeling totally cheated right now, and it's not even this series ending that I've had a problem with. It's been all THREE that I've read!

Was the point to show how much Dru changes after her "blooming" only to have her cry for nearly 125 pages? Yeah, we kind of got that by the way she continually described her "enhanced" features time and time again.

I'll say it. I hate Graves. I think Christophe actually seemed more interested in keeping her safe and away from harm and was there at the when Dru needed him the most. Naturally, I still think he is also the George Soros creepy dude of this series who went after Dru's mother and now wants a little nookie with Dru as well!

I can't in good faith recommend this book to anyone. I know this will come as a puzzling proposition to anyone who actually reads my reviews and comments on them.

Thanks by the way to those who do.

Man oh man, what a conclusion. Lili St. Crow writes emotions and mixed feelings so damned well. I could feel the frustration and self-hate and confusion that Dru experiences like they were my own emotion.

Dru is on the run with Ash and Graves, not returning to the Order, since they sold her out once and she is unwilling to trust herself to them again, since they're not the most reliable at keeping her afe. Dru figures she's just as safe (or not) on her own. The trio runs away, gets into trouble (inevitably), and there's nonstop action throughout the book. There's not a dull moment in the book. In this book, of all things, a new supernatural sect, the djinn, are introduced, and goody goody gumdrops, they're out to get Dru too. Poor girl, she just bloomed, and now this. It seems like everything she touches explodes.

Another thing that's well done in this series is the love triangle. Ok, it's unresolved, but there's so much believable internal conflict for Dru regarding the two potential love interest. It's not like other series where it's pretty damn obvious who's going to get the girl despite the supposed triangle, she really leaves us guessing...and guessing, since it's not really tied up. I'm rooting for the guy I like though, cause honestly, the other one is a huge jackass and has been for the whole series despite the whole saving Dru thing. It's pretty obvious to whom I'm referring, heh. I'm upset that the series isn't tied down cleanly and just ends RIGHT HERE but this has been the best YA paranormal I've read since the Vampire Academy series. And any comparison to Richelle Mead is not to be disregarded.

Was I disappointed, I'm not sure. The book had endless adventures. There were some really interesting things we learned about Dru. Lots of questions still that were not answered. New questions added, such as the hexes she saw, the blue and red. I think the love triangle ended fine, but I still think she is a bit hard on Chris. She was honest with Graves but she wasn't honest with Chris completely, only telling him the things holding her back and never telling him the things that she adored about him. It was a good move for the love triangle, although it was a dishonest move on Dru's part never letting Graves know that she had feelings for someone else too. Maybe because of his mental state, who knows, but I think both men are fragile in their own way. We don't get to understand the Anna presence in her head thing, and what happens to a person when they drink blood from another.

I was torn from three stars or four. I really feel that for a series it needs more books. If we don't get more of Dru that's fine but others from other aspects of this world because we don't really get to understand "the world".

I noticed that other readers talked about the repeating, and I get that too but the repeating I hate is stuff we know about already, lets get some explanations for things that are new, not old.

For example, the Hiro nodding thing, I don't really care if she nods back every time, at first it was interesting, but we don't get any more information on Hiro, other then it appears he respects Dru but seems to dislike Chris quite a bit.

The other part of her that we don't understand is the Faulk family touch and what other skills she has. We don't get find any of that out because we are introduced to it as a specialty at the end of the book. Oddly Chris must have known there was something special about her, he had to have because of the odd ways she had defended herself, such as the bathroom attack, but he never talked to her about it. Also, why was she loosing some of her abilities, such as when she was drugged, why couldn't she detect it?

It's hard for me to feel as if this book really did act as the final, maybe a final for the death of the vampire king, but not really for this story about Dru and all the oddities that it contained. I hope there is more, and if not, I hope for the other books series she writes, she doesn't leave so much out of the story.

Seriously I need this book right now. I am so exited I really want to see what will happen with Dru and Christophe I'm really hoping that they will get togeather and stay together. Another thing I'm really exited to read is when Christophe will see Dru when she is a full svetocha. I also cant wait till we get to read about Dru's full powers and all of the new things that she will be able to do. All in all I cant wait till I can read this book! <3

DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED BY MY RATING!
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this series but gave this novel 3 stars because of the way the author had ended it. So many things unresolved and there is absolutely no HEA. Plus, she's not doing another novel to complete it.

However other than this, this is a fine, fine series!

I would have finished the book in one sitting if not for school and assignments and my Lit in English portfolio. Anyhow, i finished the book in 3 days, which is as good as i could get under such circumstances.

Ooo-kay. Final book. I really can't do the no spoilers thing. Everything i am gonna write is spoilery. Sorry, guys.

Dru has bloomed, as anyone who has read Defiance would know. And i am very, very glad for that. She gets to seriously kick some ass and fight. Oh yay, I love to see my Dru-girl fight. Bascially the whole book centres around escaping and on the run from Sergej--fighting and on the run again--and escaping again. There. I spoiled it.

My Dru-girl. As smart as she is with following her grandmother's owl (i.e. her aspect in animal form and her instinct), she is really lost and confused when it comes to her relationships with Graves and Christophe. Mind you, i am Team Christophe, ALL THE WAY. The confusion in Dru, for the first time, annoys me. As much i love it, i can't believe she is so dumb when it comes to love. Or, is it that girls are always dumb when it comes down to this, and it's just that they can't cope with the idea of them not being able to handle it, and so they say they hate it?

Dru did a lot of growing up in this book. She actually saves people, instead of being the one who is constantly saved by others, which i am glad to say i am very happy and proud about this. Dru is sixteen only. The things she faced--mum hiding her and getting killed, grandmother dying, dad turning into zombie and having to kill him--is not what a normal person can't comprehend with. It leaves a scar in that person's heart, which is exactly what the author's trying to say in the book. No matter how deep down you try to hide that box of feelings or how hard you try to make yourself forget that, they stay. And the only thing we can do is cope with the fact that they stay, until your heart stops beating.

One of the reason why i like Dru so much and that she is my ever-fave protagonist is that she stays strong even when she's scared. She is not afraid of taking others up as her responsibility, even if it means being caught or exposed or endangered. She just does that. And at certain points i think she is too tough on herself that she seems to take all the blame and burden when they are not hers to bear. She un-Broke Ash, my fave wulfen. And so Ash's loyalty stays. That's how she wins people over--by being true and genuine in helping or in this case, fihgting for others. Being a full-bloomed svetocha means she has grown into all of her abilities, apart from the skills she has yet to learn from Christophe. She is strong, literally. But is she strong enough to stand against Sergej? Yes, she is, with a slight hand from Christophe. Another reason why i like Dru so much is her voice. Yes, the voice that narrates the whole story. I like her cynicism and her sacarsm. I especially like the fact that she swears. She sounds real, with that. I like that she still manages to see things with optimism and stay determined at the worst of times, especailly during the Dibs and blood confusion scene (now, i am trying to keep it as spoilers-free as possible. i did put some effort). I like the way she does whatever she has to to save others and herself, even if it means lying and possible getting herself killed.

Christophe. I am completely haert-broken as to how ashen he looks at certain scenes. The way he thinks he can never save or do enough for Dru really makes my heart ache, though i didn't cry in the whole book. He is scray, granted. But is he not good enough for Dru? In my opinion, not at all. Just because he's done something bad in the past, or maybe things that are only bad when we see it now, doesn't take away the fact he is a good person, in nature. Just because he hides it doesn't take away the fact also. I hate to see him weak at the last scene, afraid of what Dru may say. Okay. Maybe i have taken for granted that he has to be strong all the time. I know it's not fair. But that's what i like about him. No matter how bad and terrible and utterly hopeless the situation is, he fights, till the end, for Dru. The blood confusion scene in the helicopter (i assume it takes place in the helicopter) nearly kills me, again. As much as Dru kind of breaks his heart, at least he does not lose to Graves (or did he actually?). Well, at least he earns an I don't know from Dru instead of a No, which, i guess, is the best he, and i could ask for. I am absolutely sure he's gonna stay in my heart as my most beloved hero and male character for a very, very long period of time.

Graves. Not that i don't like him. I just don't like the fact that he treats Dru with whatever comes to his mind. I know he loves her. And i know love makes people do crazy things, but making Dru as confused as that and get all jealous on her? Umm, NO. That's not a way to treat the girl you love.I don't care how fucked-up his post-Dru life has been. He hurts her, even more than he imagines because he means a lot to Dru. I swear, no matter how mad Christophe is at Dru, he will NOT do that to her. Yup. That's right. I am Team Christophe. Granted, what Graves does for Dru at the near end of the book proves he can do as well as Christophe in protecting and saving Dru. I am not denying that. It's simply a matter of preference, and types.

The book/series has kind of an open ending. Nothing's solid. Sergej's dead but nosferats are just confused. Graves leaving and Dru rejecting Christophe. And Dru's grandmother being related to those hex people. Crazy as ever politics that Dru has to deal with, together with the Order. The Real World is just as it was before. Basically nothing has been acheived. Maybe it seems that i am dismissing whatever Dru has done through in the five books, but that's how life is. Just because you put in your hardest doesn't mean you are immune to hardships and trying times and you are invinsible. Life goes on as it was before. The state of the ending exactly reflects and portrays how life, in reality, is, and i really appreciate it. It's true that me being Team Christophe does not get the ending i want. But Dru is only sixteen. Who knows how she'll think when she matures even more? And that's life. People stay and people go, and the world still continues to revolve. The ending is very, very meaningful and i don't think many YA fictions can do that. Once again, this book proves that lilith St. Crow, as an author, does wonder. With such an ending, i am immensely satisfied. Maybe even a bit more satisfied than the ending that i imagined in my post-reading-Reckoning period where Dru ends up with Chris, because we all know that both Graves and Chris mean a lot to Dru. And that's how life is. The ending of Reckoning is practically the closest-to-reality and perfect ending i have ever gotten in an YA series/book.

Thanks for ending, guys. I know it's super, uber long. Not exactly what i would have written for any book noramlly. But hey, this is the final book, and Ms St. Crow deserves this.

Until next time. X

Okay, the jacket doesn't look like something I'd picture on Dru, but I love this cover! The model is perfect (and yea for having the same girl on all the covers), exactly what I'd picture Dru would look like, and I love the aspect running through her.

I can't wait to read this book, but it sucks that it's the last one in the series.

************

7/22/12 - In Reckoning, Dru, Graves and Ash are on the run following their escape from Sergej. Dru has decided to go to the last, safest place she has, even though she knows they won’t be able to stay there forever. She heads to her grandmother’s, now her, house in the South. Once there things actually end up going from bad to worse and the three eventually find themselves on the run again. I really don’t want to give anything else away. A lot of the characters from the previous books eventually pop up and I liked their roles in the book, though I do wish that some of them had had a little more face time, even though I know that the nature of the book, being on the run, etc. didn’t really allow for it. We know there’s going to be a showdown with Sergej, which I thought would be The Dru Show, but it went down a little differently and I really liked it. There were a couple of little twists in the book, which didn’t shock me and I liked the way they eventually came about, as well as more revelations about Dru’s past and her family. I wasn’t expecting some of them and they kind of came out of nowhere, but, again, I liked them. St. Crow also introduces a new type of character into the series, which ends up causing some of the bigger moments in the book.

As with the rest of the books in the series, St. Crow is really descriptive. All the time. Great gulping heaves, tearing through me like a crowd of hobnailed boots against a street, beating out cadence. Overall, I like it, but, for some reason it got on my nerves every once in a while in this one. I don’t know if she did it more, or what, but it did. Having said that, I really like St. Crow’s writing style. Her characters have a lot of depth and I like how she’s not afraid to have them get smacked around, they feel like crap after they’re in a fight or Dru feels like she has to do something like pee when she’s running from the latest threat and has the snot scared out of her. A lot of times characters will be on the run for days and you never hear about them being hungry, dirty, smelly, scared crapless or tired. Despite their supernatural abilities, St. Crow gives most of her characters all of these normal feelings and needs. It’s one of the qualities I’ve always liked about the books, because, despite the abnormal situations, it makes the characters seem realistic.

Even though I really liked most of this book, I hated one part, a big part, of it: the end. Since it’s very spoilery, I’ve hidden it. Though I can cuss like a sailor in person, I tend to not do it in my reviews, so, just a warning, in the spoiler the gloves are off. That’s how pissed I am about one part of the end. . If you don’t want to read the spoiler (which I wouldn’t recommend if you haven’t read the book), suffice it to say that, without the ending, or with a different one, Reckoning would’ve been close to five stars for me, but I had to knock a star off for the ending (I actually think I was being kind by having it be just one) and if I could rate the conclusion apart from the rest of the book, I’d give it no stars. I still love this series and would recommend it to anyone. Dru is one of my favorite heroines ever and Graves, Christophe, the wulfen and Nat are some of the best secondary characters around. However, the last few pages were a huge letdown and left me really disappointed.

Pretty Awesome cover!!!!! Sooooooooo Many books are coming out this November.
EDIT:
Ending sucked hard!! I've come to expect this from most of Lilith's book though. We have to beg her for a small short story to really close things up. But if i know her she won't come back to it anytime soon.( it took 3 years for us to get a proper ending for Selene and that still sucked) The character's story is over. Maybe in a couple years but still. Everything else was good though. Oh well i have to go read a happy book now. Any one want to recommend one??

I must say I did not like that book as much as the previous ones in the series. It felt somewhat repetitive. Dru escaping, then getting caught and escaping again and so on. And then her inability to choose between Graves and Christophe. I know she is only young and undergoing many changes in her life, but really? And that ending... Not cool Ms St.Crow. It just felt that for a final book it was a bit of a letdown.

All I can think of to say is that I'm sad to see the series end this way... Maybe there's a spin off, I don't know. But it wasn't exactly the way I wanted to see things come to an end for Dru.

Oh my Cheez-Its. That can't be the ending. SO MUCH IS LEFT IN A CLIFFHANGERRR.

*le sigh* I don't want to say much, in fear of spoiling anything. But I will say that this is a somewhat satisfying ending to this series. I do believe I felt more sorry for Graves than anybody. Then Christophe. Hell, I felt sorry for Dru. But then it's like, Well you're kick-ass and stubborn. You'll find a way out of it eventually. And man, there was a lot of action in this one too. I mean, dur. You're going to expect a shit-ton of action in a Lilith Saintcrow book.

I feel like Graves wasn't in this book that much. I mean, I know it's nothing compared to Defiance. But still, this was the final book, and I feel like Christophe somewhat got all the heat. Even though I love him more than Graves. I still like Graves though. c:

There could definitely be a sixth book. And I'm not saying that like, "oh I heard somewhere that the author is writing another book." Noooo. I'm saying that like "there's a lot that's undone" type of way. Lili is notorious for endings like that, it seems. Her books leave you wondering. Big time. I read her Dante Valentine series that came out in one book... And it was weird. But a good type of weird. And it had an ending that was like..."WTF HAPPENS NOW?!" That's how I feel about the Strange Angels series. Like a few questions for instance. (Spoilery!!!!) Is Graves really coming back? Where does this leave Dru and Graves? Where does this leave Dru and Christophe? What's Dru's full name?

UGH. I wish there was a sixth one. :( But this was an awesome finale~

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

I borrowed all the books yesterday and finished them today and I have to say this series has me hooked!!! especially with Christophe (I'm into the dark-handsome-sexy-nice-smelling-guys).
Dru better choose him cos I am fed up with her not trusting him and treating him like crap... he took 3 bullets for her and ran into a burning building. he saved her so many times from his own father and when he always turns back and asks her if she's all right my heart melts.. and he's a character!!
**choosechritsophepleaseeee** <-- ongoing mantra in my head!

I'm still not 100% about what I think of the ending.
I did think it was realistic that Dru didn't choose 'the one' because she's still only a teenager but the triangle was a huge part of the series and it's just left unresolved so I feel a bit cheated.. unless of course their some spin off books which let us know Dru's future.. but i'm not holding my breath....

....I've come up with my own ending.. where dru dates a few different guys-has a few flings, a couple of passionate affairs, a steady relationship or two, has her heart broken, breaks other guys hearts.. and then she meets the one - Gristophe - Yes Graves and Christoph are now magically 1 person.. everyone's happy!
