Locked in the basement by her money-grabbing partner, Sarah hates these bears that she once loved creating. She hates making them, she hates the fact she isn't allowed out of the basement, she hates what her partner has become... She hates. But whilst making these bears, she realises that by making them twisted and fucked-up - and pouring her hate into them - these Terror Teds soon start to take on a murderous life of their own.
From Matt Shaw comes a new novella - a twisted affair of "Toy Story" meets "Puppet Master" meets "The Garbage Pail Kids"! Be warned: there are scenes of explicit sex and violence. If you're easily offended, please do not purchase this book.
MATT SHAW was born, quite by accident (his mother tripped, he shot out) September 30th 1980 in Winchester hospital where he was immediately placed on the baby ward and EBay. Some twelve years later (wandering the corridors of the hospital and playing with road kill when he was on day release), the listing closed and he remained unsold, he was booted out of the hospital to start his life as a writer and hobbit – beginning with writing screenplays and short stories for his own amusement before finally getting published when he was twenty-seven years and forty-five seconds old.
Once Published weekly in a lad's magazine with his photography work, Matt Shaw is also a published author and cartoonist. Has to be said, can be a bit of a flirt and definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, somewhat of a klutz.
Favourite books "Roald Dahl's Collection of Short Stories" Tim Burton's Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy Anything, really, written by himself. Because he is that good.
Oh those cute, deformed, killer teddy bears…I wish I had one! Or a dozen!! So I very much enjoyed this story. I thought about Puppet Master and Child’s Play a lot as I read this book, which are both horror staples for anyone who hasn’t seen either series yet. It is a very short book and very simple plot. I did enjoy the snippets of terror that these handmade creatures reigned down upon the people who purchased them, but I thought the scenes of sexuality here were overdone. For a book that is under a hundred pages to have multiple sex scenes, especially for one couple just in the book to be victims, it felt unnecessary. But I loved the variety of bears, most notably the ending creation, and the entire finale was very well done, ending on a very high note. Gore, revenge, more than enough sex, and killer toys?! Why are you still reading my review and not this book?
Terror teds is about about an abused woman kept in captivity and forced to disfigured teddy bears for her 'partner' to sell. She did love him once but now all her angry about him is channeled into the bears and they are waking up. A short gruesome read but entertaining too.
I had low expectations for this given several previous Matt Shaw stories disappointed, and this book title and cover did not appeal. Well, I got that wrong.
This is Matt back to his sharpest. The whole wacky mutilated teddybear story was very original, lots of fun - and has huge potential. It also reminded me slightly of the "Happy Ever After" series which were excellent.
