CLAIMED continues the emotional story of Imogen as she learns more of her fate at the hands of her seemingly kind captor, Erik.

Forced to join the others in the main compound of the camp, Imogen must witness the treatment of those less fortunate, CLAIMED by other men. Her confusion grows, her feelings claiming and overwhelming her, feelings of lust and jealousy and anger and maybe even love for Erik.

CLAIMED as his own, Erik tries to protect Imogen, but when another captive is put under his watch, Imogen realizes she doesn't really know Erik at all. And her defiance could cost her harm or worse--her life.

Is Erik's claim on Imogen enough to continue to protect her? Can his rank keep her safe? Or is Imogen's fate about to take a dangerous turn out of Erik's control?

CLAIMED is the fourth installment in the IMOGEN series.

R.B. O’Brien has always been drawn to the more taboo side of storytelling, even as a young adult, from hiding books from strict Catholic parents as a teen to getting lost in the erotic sections of bookstores for hours.

She is best known for her three published erotic romances, Thorne, Edge of Torment and Imogen. But she is now forging a name for herself in the New Adult Romance category as well as poetry, her true passion, Ruin My Lipstick her first of many to come.

Much of O'Brien's work explores the darker, sensual nature of relationships, those riddled with the reality of insecurities and human folly, often exposing the vulnerability, emotional turmoil, and occasional pain that can come from losing oneself in the heat of passion and the obstacles of love.

O'Brien holds a degree in English literature and teaches for a living in the Northeast, USA. She is the founding member of The Nu Romantics, a poet, a professor, a writer, a dancer, and a hopeful romantic known for her poetry prompts on social media. O’Brien also has a profound affection for Shakespeare and beyond that, writes. Every chance she gets.

Author R.B.O'Brien brings us another chapter in the Imogen saga as she is forced to attend another meeting with Erik in the main compound and even though she doesn't know it yet she is falling in love with him. Her jealousy comes through when Erik takes another slave and begins to fondle her in front of Imogen who then goes into a sobbing rage before Erik comes back to her and takes her back to his compound. This book like the three before are a must read and I highly recommend that you pick up a copy you won't be disappointed.

In this one we get a female slave tortured by the other female slaves, and basically loving every minute of it despite herself. The relationship between Imogen and Erik is further explored, and there's some more plot development regarding the conflict with Erik and his fellow soldiers.

I can't help but think there's a lot of the author in the Imogen character and this story probably grew from some of her own fantasies. As I writer myself, I find that to be quite common and it adds a new layer to the story. I keep seeing Erik and Imogen both together as outcasts, but we'll see.

The pain of combined longing and hate for each other makes reading this almost as painful as the relationship. I remember Bosnia/Serbia all too well and how people can become monsters. I know who is acting like monsters here now, but I don't know why. I don't think any reason can be adequate for denying another person's humanity and treating them with complete and utter disregard for their emotional and physical wellbeing, let alone reveling in their pain and fear. Still, I want to know what lies in their past and what might be their future.
Can't wait for the second set of the series

RB takes you on another emotionally driven installement. Erik's behaviour towards Imogen continues to confuse her. In this installement, Imogens emotions are running high and she finds herself unable to answer Eriks questions about how she is feeling.

Imogen finds herself in the public room again with the other slaves. She witnesses harsh treatment of a slave by the other slaves at the orders of their masters. Erik, is called away to "play" with the slave. Imogen finds herself alone in the room, hating Erik for leaving her. She then faces another situation, that she is not sure how to react to. Erik, returns and claims her for himself.

Imogen is so confused....... what will happen to both Erik and Imogen, now that Erik has shown some of his feelings towards Imogen??
