Be inspired by Emma Hardy's beautiful ideas for tiny tabletop displays. Why not try some indoor projects on rainy days; plant some little ferns under glass domes, make Japanese moss balls for the roots of some colorful orchids, or why not create a unique water garden in glass goblets? Make use of any outdoor space you have with hanging lantern planters, little place name pots for a party, a tower of plants, and a beautiful chandelier with small planted glasses. The edible plants chapter has easy-to-grow delicious treats including potted blueberries, an alpine strawberry centerpiece, and much more. Every project has helpful step-by-step instructions and aftercare tips from expert gardener Emma Hardy, so now even those with a minimum of space can enjoy the benefits and joys of gardening.
Beautiful inspiring photos of a range of indoor & outdoor plants. Clear instructional photos of how to set up each pot or planter. Unfortunately some of the plant set ups seem impractical - such as small decorative tins intended to display indoors on shelving, but with drainage holes in the bottom meaning water would leak. Only a few small sections about how to care for the plant arrangements after setting them up. I would have liked long-term photos and more instructions on how to care for the plants long-term.
This is a delightful issue for providing interesting, creative and simple ideas for container gardening for both indoor and outdoor living. Everything from the succulents to exotic orchids are included. I found the ideas clever for using many different vessels as floral gardens. There are step by step instructions and helpful information for equipment and tools needed. I found these to be things that are already a part of any household and did not require additional purchases. This will be helpful for your own enjoyment as well as gift giving and hostess thank-yous.
The designs aren’t overly complicated, and you can use a lot of them indoors or outdoors. There are step-by-step illustrations. There’s something for every budget and gardening skill level. Also, I love that after care was included, so you know how to care for your completed garden. You don’t need tons of space to create your dream garden. You can also substitute plants and use this book as a starting point for your own ideas or designs.
Really cute book, which is inspiring. I just wish I had access to so many interesting containers, and plants weren't so expensive.... I've done a couple of things inspired by this already, and definitely want to do more, some to keep, some to give, and some to try to sell. (Gives me so many ideas for selling, really).
Good instructional book for showing those of us with 'black thumbs' how to do some gardening on a small scale. Interesting ideas, although I haven't tried any out yet. Lovely use of colour photographs and beautifully presented. Very easy read and worth a second or third read on a quiet weekend.
Nice colourful book with some bright ideas. I did wonder how long term some of the plants would last like the ones in empty food tins or jars. I liked the creativity and colour and it was a nice picture book which was easy enough to turn the pages.
This book is full of projects for both indoors or outside so you can have pretty plants everywhere. The pictures where really lovely and I enjoyed this book a lot.
The great thing about this book is that Hardy tells you which plants she is using and includes pictures in the step-by-step directions, as well as care for said individual plants.
I loved this book. Step by step instructions, pictures and some truly smashing ideas and tips. I cannot wait to get my green fingers out for some top projects. 4/5 smashing stuff.
