"An author who has remained on my 'must-buy' list for years." --Romance Reviews Today
"There should be a notice on her books: For a really GOOD time, read Stephanie Bond!" --America Online Romance Fiction Forum
USA TODAY bestselling author Stephanie Bond was seven years deep into a systems engineering career and pursuing an MBA at night when an instructor remarked that she had a flair for writing and suggested that she submit to academic journals. But Stephanie, a voracious reader, was only interested in writing fiction–more specifically, romantic fiction.
Upon completing her master’s degree and with no formal training in writing (her undergraduate degree is in computer programming), she started writing a romance novel in her spare time. Two years later in 1995 she sold her first manuscript, a romantic comedy, to Harlequin Books.
In 1997, with ten sales under her belt to two publishers, Stephanie left her corporate job to write women’s romantic fiction full-time. In 2011,
Stephanie launched a self-publishing business. Since that time, she has sold more than 1 million copies of her own books. To-date, Stephanie has published over 70 novels and has over 6 million copies of her work in worldwide distribution in numerous languages and formats.
Waiting is so... difficult, now I need October to arrive
I started reading Coma Girl 3 this morning and planned on taking my time to savor it. To my surprise and disappointment it ended too soon just as.... so bad to have to wait. I am not good at waiting. Well, if you haven't started reading it yet, please join me it is very good (except for the delays in publication) and I will just have to wait..
I absolutely love this series. It's like a mini soap opera every month. I have started to look forward to the first day of the month, just so I can read the next excerpt. I can't wait to find out if marigold remembers everything that has happened while she's been "asleep". Such a great series.
I really love this series. I've been anxiously awaiting part 3 to be released, and I'm sad that I have to wait another month for part 4. I highly recommend this series!
In A Nutshell:Marigold Kemp is in a coma following a car crash. Marigold can hear, but nobody knows that for sure. So, it leads to a fantastic cast of characters including her dysfunctional family, crazy friends, members of the justice system and hospital staff letting their emotional guard down. You will laugh, perhaps shed a tear, but Coma Girl will enthral readers. Clever, funny and thought-provoking.
The Protagonist(s):Marigold Kemp is the middle child in a family of three. And so in many ways, Marigold appears the forgotten child. Her elder brother is a war hero and her younger sister the brain box. Written in the first person, Marigold aka Coma Girl gets to hear all sorts of secrets and confessions which she processes with dry humour.
I have covered Coma Girl 1 -5 in this review. The stories are so addictive I just had to keep on going. The story begins with Marigold hospitalized following a car accident that led to severe head trauma and her coma. The book is in the style of diary entries and starts on 1 July. There are plenty of twists and laughs in every entry.
Over the course of six months, Marigold becomes the social media sensation Coma Girl. And that brings additional pressure to Marigold's case and the other patients in the 'vegetable patch' which is what some hospital workers call the coma ward.
Readers will meet the detective Jack Terry who is investigating her case. And the head-on collision involving NFL star player Keith Young is not all it seems. There is the dedication of Dr. Jarvis, and the ethical lines one will's the professionals to cross. And some people are just so dang frustrating. Grrr. And others like Marigold's mum and sister are callous at times.
But there is plenty of humour, provided by Coma Girl, her wonderful aunt Winnie and Roberta, the best friend. There are also quirky characters like Sister Irene. All of them make for witty dialogue.
Coma Girl is a novel concept that might sound boring but is anything but! Highly recommended

>Book Review – Coma Girl >I am an independent reviewer. These books are a 6 part serial that ends in an HEA. Marigold is mentally alert, but stuck in a coma. As she gets visitors, they begin to unburden themselves and she learns TMI about her entire family, friends and even strangers. The story is both heartwarming and heart breaking. There is an unusual amount of humor, especially with Marigold’s aunt Winnie and her wanna be psychic friend who is more miss than hit. >The book also highlights the kindness of strangers. There is a little girl, especially, who seems to know exactly when Marigold needs a little mental pick-me-up. There are also instances of incredible cruelty, as some hospital workers refer to Marigold’s room and roommates as the “vegetable patch”. >Social media takes off, creating an internet sensation with “Coma Girl”. Along with all of this attention, the reality of the crazies really is quite scary. The scenes where Marigold attempts to communicate were poignant. The whole experience creates a new outlook for Marigold, as secrets are revealed. I had a different HEA in mind for her, though. >These books are appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving the serial 5 stars. The story is a quick read and so very entertaining.
A short part of the series book. A girl is in an accident and is in a coma and they find out also that she is pregnant too. No one has any idea who the father is except her. Marigold -her name - can hear every thing everyone says while in her room unbeknown to them. She was given an experimental drug , not authorized yet. The one doctor sometime feels her hand squeeze a bit but it don't happen when other doctors do it. Her sister tells her story on TV and the story is wide open. Will she survive, whose the babies daddy and how much will they get in the settlement. Cant wait to find out what happens next.
Coma Girl is a 6 part serial following Marigold Kemp as she tries to recover from a serious head injury caused by a car accident. Marigold has visitors who aren't certain that they can be heard, so the interactions with her in a vegetative state is...interesting.
I really enjoyed the concept of this serial. Each installment was a month in the ward. The things Marigold became a witness to were sometimes heartbreaking but many times hilarious. I found this story entertaining and refreshing. It was also interesting that there was little if any description for the characters, so it allowed my imagination to run wild. Cool concept. Maybe offer a boxset??
Oh no, busted! I’d I recall correctly something was mentioned in one of the previous books that the way the accident went it was different than what everyone believes, but then no mention after that. Or maybe it was my premonitions again. Anyway…
Stephanie always ends her books with a BAM! TAKE THAT! Ya, I usually don’t see that coming.
I wonder if Marigold and Jack will end up together. Or maybe she and poetry guy. Seems as though Jack is beginning to fall for her though. False sense of falling, I suppose, since it’s easier to fall for someone who listens so well.
I love Stephanie’s sense of humor. So hilarious!
See you in the next review! Deuces to your cabooses! ♥️
This is part 3 of 6 part daily serial, part three is the month of September.
Loving the concept of this daily serial, a girl in a coma after an unfortunate traffic accident, able to hear all the conversations of family, friends, police, doctors, medical staff & anyone else that decides to visit, without any of them realising that she can hear everything.
I’m still enjoying this serial, interesting, funny in places and even a bit of a shocking revelation at the end of part 3 given that ComaGirl is starting to remember things that she’d forgotten re the accident.
So with that said, I’m heading straight into part 4 which is the month of October.
Drs. Tyson and Jarvis are once again using Marigold for further experimentation with the TBI cocktail, Auntie Winnie and her psychic Fairdee are hitting home runs( this pair is a hoot), and her mom is slowly becoming motherly, while Marigold has her memories resurfaced pointing straight to Sidney as the driver and cause of the accident and Young’s beating.
What a marvelous read and now time for some poetic justice!!

Entertaining..... Can't wait to read the next one!
Great idea. Always wondered if people in a coma know what is going on around them. This is a fun way to have the story unfold. Stephanie Bond has the ability to take a small section if the population and draw us all in to that world.
I love Stephanie Bonds stories. When I saw Coma Girl I though, how can she possibly writer 6 Short books on this subject..Not only did she do it but kept it interesting, exciting, and humerous to the point I would laugh out loud. This is a great series and I couldn't put it down. I've enjoyed her other books but this was even better and though provoking. Exellent!!!
Well book three did not disappoint. The surprise ending in book two takes this to a new level of hilarity and shock which lasts only until the surprise ending in book three!. I am reeling from the twists and laughing so hard at the wit and sarcasm of the helpless Marigold. DO your self a favor and check it out . Perfect release from COvid boredom.
I was able to read this book without any problems but I am wondering what happened in the first 2 and what is next for Coma Girl. Guess I need to look for them at the library.
I love this book it seems so real that the author sucks you into a story and it's two in the morning. And you want to get the next book. Can't wait to see what's next. You need to one click this series.
From whatever you're doing to read this series. You need to indulge yourself with a great story, characters with depth, twists, turns & the burn of social media. Tell your friends, too.
This is a unique and entertaining serial, but it is going on a little too long for me. But I love the premise and the characters so I will continue on.
