Books 4-6 in the Chaos series (including bonus novella, Kings). Usurper It’s been a year since Cara returned to the human realm with her daughter, and the fae have come knocking again. The game of kings is still being played, power is the ultimate prize, and Scarlet is an asset every court wishes to acquire. As Sadler’s next move is revealed to be his deadliest yet, and Scarlet’s burgeoning powers begin to develop into something that can’t be hidden, Cara realises that something more significant than a faery promise is needed to protect her family. It’s time for her to build on what she started in Sadler’s court. But although the game is seductive, the price of winning might be too costly for a human to pay. Blight As the blight spreads, destroying the land, Cara’s new subjects turn on her, and Brendan and Drake are no longer there to help her. The Darksiders thought she’d be pliable, or maybe even a miracle-worker, and it’s not as easy to scrub away Sadler’s influence as she thought. But Scarlet isn’t her only priority any more, and once the ceremony to swear her in as regent is done, it’ll be time for Cara to join forces with the kings, find a way to stop the blight, and prove to the fae that she can be the leader they need. It took a Darksider to steal the throne; it’ll take a faery queen to keep it. Kings Set between books five and six in the Chaos series, Kings is a brief look into the lives of Drake and Brendan. After sealing the rift, Drake hears word of his wife’s sickness only to find that the cause is exactly what unites his enemies against him. Brendan’s journey across unexplored waters is only beginning, and if he finds what he’s looking for, he’ll owe a determined woman a throne by his side. But can he do it? Whatever course of action is taken next, they will change their world. Sacrifice As a king’s life hangs in the balance, alliances are made then broken. Only trickery can help Cara protect those she cares about, but when her enemies show their true face, she realises the every distraction feeds Chaos. Cara’s not the only one searching for a legendary treasure, not the only one reaching for power. The journey’s not over, but at the end of every path lies Sacrifice.
This a surprising ending to the Chaos series. Cara is an amazing woman and Brenden always stand by her and has her back. I really feel for Drake and I learned so much more about him in the 5th book. I had gotten to the point that I really disliked Drake for all the horrible decisions he had made. After learning how his life turned out, all I could do is pity him. I felt the same for Sorcha. Even though it was their choices that made their circumstances the way they were, it is still sad. I love that Cara and Brendan finally get it all out and share their feelings for each other. Together they are unstoppable. I loved the ending and wish there was more to come.
Yet another powerful read! I don't know if Cara is one of the most loyal and courageous people in this book or the stupidest...sighs. She's not really known for making wise decisions but I was thrilled with her decision on protecting the Darksiders. They are good people who were dealt a shitty hand. Her humanity is not a weakness, doesn't matter what Drake says. He's an asshole anyway, not the cool faery he started off as.
That's why I loved Zoe being around Cara, being her BFF gave her the ability and grit to be honest with Cara, especially when it came to Drake. He's a lost cause, was never meant to be with her. He married Sorcha and she's in love with him..despite being a complete and total twat. Cara needs to get over him fast and quick because he only cares about his stupid ass revenge...psycho.
I feel bad that Brendan felt betrayed by Cara, I know that even though she pulls away from him, she does feel some sort of love for him. Now is the time for her to focus on her people though so Breandan will have to wait, if anything ever comes out of that relationship.
5) Blight 4 Stars
WHOA...that was intense! Its hard to be a good Queen when there are so many strikes against you, the biggest one...being human! Cara does a pretty decent job but like Vix said, she needs to be a ruler first and friend second, because of her lapse in judgement one of the sweetest characters in this series has been lost. That was emotional!
So much happened in this book, I couldn't put it down. Cara, while having so much on her plate, truly is a fool. Brendan has been after her for a while now and because of her stupid ass insecurities, she always walked away, only to get all jealous because he's marrying that weird fish lady. I think her chance to be with him has passed, I really feel bad for her because I think she's either going to end up alone or with someone stupid just so she won't be alone.
So the first of many tasks has been accomplished..let's see what happens when Brendan returns from his voyage!!!
5.5) Kings 3 Stars
It was nice to read from someone else's POV, since the entire series is strictly from Cara's side only..
6) Sacrifice 5 Stars
This last book was the ultimate culmination of not only the horrendous blight but of everyone's HEA! It wasn't ideal and it wasn't perfect but it was amazing, while I wished for Cara and Brendan to have had a more permamnet arrangement, their HEA was more logical. I'm glad they found each other and completed all the quests together, even if it took them a while to admit their love for each other. Drake on the other hand I think is just destined to be miserable. He made his choices so now he has to live by them..sadly he really wasn't the faery I thought he was going to be.
Well this was a wild and chaotic ride! This has been one of the most intriguing and engaging series I've read in a long time! Sad to see it end but I enjoyed the hell out of it!!!
Best Series I've read in a long time. Ms. Farrell is one of my new favs. Cara has her child and has defeated her crazy king, husband to save the kingdom, but is it too late? While Cara fights to rule the Black Court, the blight Sadler brought with his god, Chaos is destroying the Fae realm. Cara, Brendon and Drake have to work together to save fae. Once again, this author amazes me with her story telling. This was not only adventurous, and exciting, it was funny and entertaining. I never laughed or cried this hard reading a book. I just hope this series can be built on. I love the characters and like Cara, they felt like family. I'd love to see what happens next with Cara, Brendon, Drake, Scarlet and Morgan. What happens next? Please?
I want more...I would love to find out what's next! Seeing the children grow up, the Green Court's heir, is there peace for Drake, the love of Brendan and Cara...all of it!! I fell in love with these books and would love to know more about the fae realm...I NEVER had that much interest in it before, but this series has awakened an interest in me. It has also awakened emotions in me that I've kept locked up for a long time. Thank you so much for bringing me into their lives!!!
A Quest to heal the land and save those you love. Along the way learning that the cost of taking risks to save others is worth the cost. This story is a journey from fear and immaturity to love, compassion and sacrifice.
Go on the journey with Cara as she grows up and learns that love conquers evil. Kindness and compassion can generate loyalty and common purpose. And finally that life is not something that happens to you but is what you decide to make of it.
An engaging story that had me hooked from page 1. While I loved following Cara's journey, the end left me feeling a bit bereft as there are still so many unanswered questions. I really hope that these are addressed in later stories so that we know the fate of Brendan, Cara and Drakes offspring and see how their relationships settle.
I truly love the rest of this series of fairies and God's. Wish there was more for our heroine Cara and maybe the author will make another book. I recommend this series filled with love, adventure, twist and turns that have you on the edge of your seat, and we'll written characters.
When I started this journey I didn't expect too much. I've read some of Claire's other books and always enjoyed them. This one however really sucked me in. Hint: I read the entire series, all 7 books in just under a week. Rep up the great work, I can't wait to see what's next.
The character evoke strong reactions. Love, hate, disgust, pity, rage, and did I mention love? The plot is riveting as well as epic. From book one I didn't stop reading until the end. My heart wishes Cara and Brandon could have had a true happy ending but that was the only fly in the ointment.😁. One heck of a good read!
This is the first series from this either that I have read and it is one of the best I have read I highly recommend this series I look forward to reading her next seires
This is one of the best series I have read I loved it highly recommend this author can't wait to start the next series keep the series coming your a great writer
I really enjoyed the twist and turns throughout the beginning books and how no matter what loyalty and friendship seemed to win through. I purchased the entire series of books and read them all the way thru without stopping. Anyone and everyone will enjoy reading these books.
Liked the series. Good writing with space for each character. The way Cara works her way through her issues is encouraging. Some characters work out and others don’t. Same as life and that makes it more endearing. Brendan was my personal favourite but I am in love with the Fae world created by Claire. Would love to visit some day.
Absolutely amazing story!! I want more even though the author says it is over...I feel like the story is far from over. If you enjoy fantasy/paranormal stories then I definitely recommend.
This was the first good series I have read in a long time. Anyone considering or likes to read about the fae and fairies, will truly enjoy this. BRAVO to Claire Farrell!!!!!
When I started reading the first book, I got so wrapped up in the twists and turns of the romance between Cara, Drake and Brendan. As the series continued, I was having trouble putting the book down because I was so eager to find out what happened next.
Loved every one of the 6 books,.brought in 2 theologies. Some times it was a bit repetitive but got there eventually. Thank you Claire for your brilliant mind.
This series stood on its own..the world and character building are too notch..based in Ireland and the ferry realm..I was enamored with the Chaos Series..I have read the complete series multiple times in just 2weeks..so glad I found Claire Farrel.
Conquering Chaos to free the fae - Enthralling series
I love Faery tales and this series was completely satisfying and engaging. Cara Kelly moves through the Faery Realm determined to help all the fae; black, green and silver. A blight curses the land, the inhabitants and all those Cara loves. She has a fight on her hands and is it at too dear a cost to her to succeed? I hope you take the time to enjoy this series, I certainly did.
I have read these books multiple times and still love them! I loved the interaction between the fae world and the human world. The discriptions were wonderful!
