This is a really quick, short, sexy story about two people who come together after being apart for years. When Dallas finds a truck stuck on his land he also finds Ellie, his high school sweetheart. The attraction is strong for Dallas even after all the years they’ve been apart and the hurt is still as fresh as it was the day Ellie betrayed him and ran. As soon as Ellie sees Dallas she has misgivings about her decision to return home to recapture what she threw away with Dallas.

This story is likable enough but I just couldn’t seem to get a connection to the main characters. It starts with these two meeting again for the first time in years I felt like I picked up the story and started reading it somewhere in the middle and missed the back story for these two. You do learn what happened that made Ellie run and I guess that’s all you need but I was looking for more to give me that connection to the main characters I want when I read romance.

It’s a hot, mostly sex filled short and if that’s what you want then this will be perfect.

Childhood sweethearts ended when she betrayed him, now six years later. she finally finds the courage to return to their hometown but will she find the courage to face him? And how will he react?
The decision is out of Ellies hands when her car is stuck in the mud on Dallas´ lands and he´s the one to save her.

A quick, fun read, smutty fluff and a heartbreak in the past. A warning though, if cheating is a trigger for you, **SPOILER** since that was the old heartbreak..

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review and here it is: 3 stars.

This is one sizzling hot read, and Ms. Petrova is a master at creating them, but I was expecting a novella, and "quick" was the right word--it's a mere 38 pages, which, in my opinion, makes it a short story.

Ellie is returning to Texas to make amends with Dallas, one sexy cowboy, after cheating on him 6 years earlier--something he discovered when he walked in on her and another guy having sex in her dorm room. He turned around, headed for home and didn't look back. If this had been a true novella, and it easily could have been, we'd have at least discovered whether or not Ellie and Dallas had made promises to one another before she went off to college--Dallas certainly seemed to think that was the case. I'd have loved to read about the beginning of their relationship.

Ellie, now back in Texas, goes to Hart's Pond, the place she and Dallas first made love, arriving late and daydreaming until dark. When she tries to leave, her truck gets stuck in the mud, and guess who thinks there's someone trespassing on his property?

No spoilers from me, but it's easy to see where this story is going, and my problem with it is that it just gets there way too fast. If someone cheated on me and never even tried to contact me for 6 years, it would take a whole lot longer for them to get back in my good graces again. I'm aware that this is only the first installment in a series, but if each installment is going to be this short, I think many reader's will wait for you to finish the series and buy it all at once.

As I've said before when reviewing Ms. Petrova's work, "Em, you're talented and you're more than capable of writing a longer, more compelling piece of romantic fiction, and I keep hoping that you will."

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.

Dallas finds his "Ellie" girl having sex with a college boy, so he gives up women for good! He concentrates on his ranch and home renovations, not leaving any room in his life for women.

Fast forward five years.....While out checking his land, Dallas discovers a truck bogged down in the mud. Upon further inspection, he discovers his "Ellie" girl walking toward the road. He picks her up and offers to let her use the phone to call for help. When nobody's available, he drives her home himself.

He finds that even though she destroyed him five years ago, he still loves her and wants her. Ellie came home to right past wrongs and apologize to Dallas for hurting him...

This novel is actually a novella. It is a quick, easy read with a HEA. I've read several other Em Petrova novels and it's not that I didn't like it, but I was actually disappointed Dallas was so forgiving. I've been in a marriage where my husband cheated on me and it completely destroyed my trust and me. Lots of self-doubt. I know it's fiction, but I wanted Ellie to have to work harder for Dallas' love and trust. Otherwise, a good novella.

Quick and hot is exactly right!

This is a short story that packs a lot of heat and heart. Ellie and Dallas loved each other. Until Ellie made a big, big mistake. Coming back to her hometown to face Dallas one last time, to see if he could forgive her, Ellie was stuck. Figuratively and literally)…

You would think in such a short time, it would have been hard to connect with Ellie and Dallas. There seemed barely enough pages to cover the plot yet alone find out who they really were, what made them tick. While I don’t know their favourite colour, or what they enjoy for lunch, I certainly could feel the passion and connection that still flowed between these sympathetic and likable characters. I could feel Dallas’ heartbreak and Ellie’s devastation. Even after all the years that have passed, and the reason they broke up, nothing could take away from their bond…

Mud, sex and love made for a lightning quick but completely satisfying read!

There’s some something about a cowboy.

Ellie Lannigan knew that all too well. She broke the heart of the boy-back-home after he walked into her dorm room and caught her with the campus jock. She’s hated herself and has been avoiding the truth ever since – she lost her best friend and the love of her life. Now she’s all grown up and back home to do the one thing she should have done six years ago – apologize.

Dallas thought he had forever with Ellie until he caught her with another man. Now he just wants to be left alone to work his farm in peace. There’s a wrinkle in his plans though, when circumstances bring him and Ellie face-to-face again…and she needs his help.

Enjoyed this quick, HOT read, and while these two cannot deny the passion that still burns between them, in the end, it’s all about their hearts. Loved Dallas as the tortured cowboy with a broken heart determined not to trust again. The years bring Ellie maturity and the ability to admit she was wrong…and go after her man!

Enjoy!

3 1/2 Star Review.......

This is a very short, scorchingly HOT read that definitely lives up to the series name.

I fell in love with Dallas and his fractured heart from the very first meeting, but was not a fan of the cowardly, self-absorbed woman responsible for his pain. Forgiveness may soothe the soul and make you the bigger person, but I would have liked the story to be longer so Ellie could have suffered the way Dallas had for 6 long years.

Would Ellie have come back to the ‘cowboys, horses and smelly barns’ she loathed so much when she left for college if the man she thought was so much better than the one she left behind, hadn’t turned out to be her worst mistake?

I had no respect for Ellie and thought Dallas deserved much, much more. That aside, the author’s writing is always exciting and kept me riveted even if I did despise the female lead.

Dallas Nights by Em Petrova is a fantastic second chance romance. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Petrova has delivered a book that's well-written and has great characters. Ellie returned to her hometown on vacation because it was time to give Dallas the apology she's owed him for years. Dallas was surprised to find Ellie at his pond. He's still angry with her but still wants her like crazy. I enjoyed reading Dallas Nights and look forward to my next book by Em Petrova. Dallas Nights is book 1 of the Quick And The Hot Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. Turn your fan on, this book sizzles!

This was a hot, quick read that had a lot of heart.

This was a great second chance book. Even though it was nice and short, it gave you all the feels.

Dallas had his heart ripped out by Ellie years ago and now he finds her on his land by their old pond. To say he was mad was an understatement. However you knew right away that the feelings were still there.

Ellie has come home to give Dallas the apology that he deserves. She wasn't ready to see him by their pond but could understand the anger.

Watching these to rehash their painful past all the while attraction burning was fun to read. These two were explosive both inside and outside the bedroom.

A wonderful book about a second chance at love. Well written. This one is worth your time and effort. I encourage you to get this one now. This is a very quick read. Honestly I wasn't sure I was going to like this one, but the more I got into the book the better I liked it. This one is different, I will be honest about it, the female character I didn't like when I started this book but I came to like her. I will say we all have things we would like to either do over or we wish never happened. Give it a chance, I think you will enjoy this one!!!

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my review.

This was just as the series title suggested: quick and hot.

It's a very steamy second chance romance with a sexy, alpha cowboy who is unmanned when he is finally face-to-face with his ex after a crushing break-up some years prior. I would have liked more background on the characters and just a little more angst. I think Dallas gave in quite easily.

However, I enjoyed the heat and consider this a good start to the series. Looking forward to what Book 2 has in store.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a quick read, but we have all heard the saying that good things can come in small packages. This is the case with this book. Not everyone can get a second chance, but I love when they get one. The sexual chemistry between Dallas and Ellie is off the charts, so there is a lot of Sizzle, and at the same time a really good story of forgiveness. I received this book from the author in return for an honest review, and I do recommend it.

I've got one word....WOW!!!!

It's a fast pace story with hot steamy sex between old flames, there is some shameful regrets and a heartfelt apology. Will they work it out and come together or will the pain of the past keep them apart? Although it's short it has everything a longer book has, I love how they come together in the beginning and I'm bagging for it to work out in the end. I really loved this story & I can't wait to one click the next.

Dallas Nights is the first book in the Quick And The Hot series and its the story of Dallas and Ellie, a second chance romance (cowboy style). Its super short (less than 50 pages) so it can be read in a very short span of time and there is sooo much heat packed in those few pages! I loved Dallas from the beginning, Ellie grew on me after time. If you love HOT cowboys and have limited reading time - definitely check this one out!

A quick hot little number that has the second chance theme. For me it wasn't one of my favorite but it's possibly because I just didn't like Ellie or where the characters cheat on each other when together. In the back of my mind I just kept feeling sorry for Dallas. Don't get me wrong the writing holds your attention and is overall an okay read. Received an ARC copy from author for a honest review.

Short and flaming hot. This quickie is about two people rediscovering each other as adults. They were together as high school sweethearts before she made a silly mistake in college ending their romance.
Country boy and wanna be city girl who returns home 6 years later meet on the road and sparks fly. I wish that the story was longer as it was over so quick but I loved it all the same.

I was given ARC from Em Petrova. this was a short to the point love story. I loved the fact that as soon as Dallas saw Ellie the sparks flew. This is a love story of two young people with Ellie making a mistake but without this hard lesson I don't think she would have appreciated her love and her future with Dallas. I'm looking forward to book #2.

Series Title fits the Tale

Definitely a very quick and very hot short tale. I like the occasional short read, but I'm not sure this is novella length.

It was interesting enough that I wanted more detail about Dallas and Ellie's past relationship. This has a HEA, but, it is just enough of a tease to leave you wanting more.

This steamy story is a second chance at love. Ellie made a mistake in college that broke Dallas' heart. He does not want her back in his life, but she continues to try to apologize. The necklace Dallas gave her is the key to healing. I enjoyed this short story, first in a series, and recommend it.

This is a very short read about a woman who made a big mistake and is trying to heal old wounds. I would have liked to to be longer and have a little more depth about the earlier part of their relationship. Dallas is a great guy and it is hard to understand her choices. There is a lot of heat.

A short scorching read by Em!! Dallas and Ellie are getting their 2nd chance even though he's still hurt and she is extremely sorry for being young and dumb. He puts her through her paces when he's not ravishing her. This book was given to me for an honest review.

Does exactly what it says on the tin...a quick and hot read.

Dallas and Ellie have a past, they were lovers until she cheated on him at college.

Can he forgive her?

This is a fun novella and is perfect for summer reading.

Where's the rest

If I had paid for this one I would be asking for my money back. 37 pages is ridiculous. I looked up the 2nd book and it only has 62 pages. Not buying it. I like to read a story.
