I had the prince's baby, and he doesn't even know... FAITH
At first, Edward was just another history buff, exploring castles with me. A handsome, muscular history buff I couldn't keep my eyes off of. I fell in love with the man, not the prince. I married him on a whim, without thinking it through. And I left in tears, knowing I was doing the right thing by leaving him. He's a prince, after all. But I didn't know I would have a royal baby girl in nine months.
EDWARD
Faith is unlike the girls I've come to know as a prince. She may not be a princess. She may not be royalty. She may be just a girl... But she's the only girl for me. And when I find out she had my baby, I'll do everything in my power to claim them both.
Full length bad boy royal secret baby romance. No cliffhanger, no cheating and a happy ending guaranteed. Contains a BONUS book - Rebel Rockstar (Dirty Crown ends at the 50% mark).
Thoughts: I really wanted to like this story but Edward wasn't a bad boy at all. It really wasn't until close to the end that he did anything bad boyish and that was just barely. There were quite a few editing mistakes, which normally doesn't bother me, but having a new paragraph while the same person is speaking made it difficult to know who was saying what. There were other spelling/grammar mistakes, but like I said, that can be easily overlooked since it wasn't too bad. This could've been great and started out that way. I loved how Edward and Faith met and had this instant connection and similar interests. The queen on the other hand, totally B*tch! And the total flip at the end just wasn't realistic. Don't give up Ms. Fawn, I'm sure you'll get there!
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
I have read many books by Maci Fawn and I have to say that this one left me disappointed in some aspects. Not that is was a total failure, it just seemed to me to need more of something…and not sure what would help the story to be more enjoyable. One aspect that I use to rate a book is “do I want to be in this book? Do the characters make me want to be them?” This book just didn’t do that for me. The Price was a not somebody I would want to share a life with. Faith was stupid for going back to him. However, I do enjoy the second book a bit more enjoyable. Faith and Prince Edward enjoyed each other’s company because they shared a mutual interest in history and castles. The married too soon and Faith left on their honeymoon night never looking back. Prince Edward let her go and didn’t even go after her. He finds her a decade later and his mother the Queen is horrible to Faith (typical mother in law).
I received an ARC for an honest review. This is the first book which I have read from this author, and I did enjoy it. Our main characters Faith and Edward meet in a castle museum, and there is instant attraction. The sparks fly in their romance, but unfortunately true love does not run smoothly. Will they eventually get their own HEA? You need to read this book and find out. Marci has done a good job in writing this romantic story, and I enjoyed the fairytale aspect of the Prince and the Commoner. Look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Dirty Crown is a story about falling in love and about losing everything only to find it again when you least expect it. It's a story of heartbreak, loss, and second chances.
Faith and Edward are a match made in nerd heaven. Faith just graduated college and not sure what to do next, so she decides to travel the world. Edward is taking some time from his royal duties. A chance meeting and the whirlwind begins.
Their love was fast but they built a bond before anything. This was told in both POVs, so you got to see what each other was thinking. I will say I was a bit confused when Faith left, as it was so abrupt and out of left field. No worries, you find out why and I was like Damon, that's messed up.
Speed up 7 years later, both are still a mess missing each other. Another chance meeting and the craziness begins. I don't know much about royalist but The Queen was insane for what she was doing to them.
This does end with a HEA for the pair, which I wasn't sure we were going to get their, especially with the crazy princess.
I voluntarily received a copy for my honest review.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review....
I liked this book even though it's not one of Marci's best. While Edward's bad boy partying was alluded to, there wasn't a lot of detail about it. The plot was good and the storyline flowed smoothly with lots of conflict. While I loved some aspects of Edward, his character was lacking in other aspects. He acted like a door mat for most of the story. Faith's character was fairly well-developed. I loved her towards the end of the book. The conflict with the Queen and Kristine was really awesome and well-developed in my opinion. That made the book worth reading. I can't wait for the next book from Marci as I will definitely continue reading her work.
I tried, I really did. I just could not finish this book. I didn't feel any attachment to the, very annoying, characters. I hate a weak male lead, he drove me nuts. The female character was just as annoying. I made it to the 30% mark (the book ended at 50%) and I still couldn't make myself finish.
This book almost reminds me of a fairytale setting. Where the young prince is misunderstood and the heroine is just a “commoner” amongst the country who is looking for something interesting and fun to celebrate her recent success.
Faith is a young girl from the states who loves history. Her plan to travel for a bit takes her to England where she can indulge her curiosity. She seems like a sweet soul with a bit of spitfire! She knows what she wants out of life and will do what’s necessary in order to make her dreams come true. Can she honestly do that? What happens if this trip changes her life dramatically? Is there room in her life for love?
Edward is a young man who has been kept under the thumb of not only his Royal entourage but his mother. She knows what she wants for him and who is he to argue? He just wants to live a calm and peaceful life. He too loves history and is fascinated by his family's past. But being a royal makes it all the harder to live the life he wants to. Will his vacation time be halted and changed up? Is there any chance for a true match and love for him?
Their chance meeting brings them together and changes their paths forever. They have an unexplainable attraction that can’t be denied. They decide to travel together and learn more about each other and the countries around them. They get lost in their love together and all is ok. Finding your one and only isn’t something either of them expected to have at all. Along their happy filled days, comes the storm of a lifetime that rips them apart. It’s intriguing how it all comes together and exactly how things end.
Creative adoration (positives): I loved that there was indeed a happy ending. Marci was able to build up to some really happy and good points. The emotions she touched on for each character was wonderful and heartfelt.
Creative indifference (negatives): It seemed a little lost here and there. Like the points of intervention from one side over the other. The time period between them seeing each other again was also an odd amount of time. It makes you question to what limits were actually set up from them finding each other again.
Creative appraisal (overall): It’s a good story, but is lacking a bit. I think a little more drama would have changed it up and pushed it just a bit further. It’s a pretty quick and sweet read if you love any royal type or fairy tale type book.
Fan Fic, that is how this book reads. It’s frou frou, over happy, with much gasping and wowing. How much gasping? Fifty one occurrences of gasping. How much wowing? It surpassed it’s daily recommend allowance at twenty frou frou wowing. He gasped, “wow”, she gasped, “wow”, I cringed and cried, “no” when I had to many gasping, wows. I got these values from my Kindle so I’m not pulling them out of air.
I have a real dislike for books written about Brits that fail to inject any true Britisms. Men don’t tend to call adult females in Britain girls because a young female is generally a miss or a gal. Gentlemen call adult females ladies, or women. If you are an aristo than it is all the more that you speak of females in the highest regard. Of course with your blokes you may feel free to call her a right slag; everyone is allowed to talk out the side of their mouths, even princes. But if the Prince of England talks like a Yank and then the American later injects her speech with British/English lexicography, complete with slang, it’s a major fail.
The wrong person speaks in the wrong tongue far too often in the book.
Not to mention that there is a large amount of how-the-hell-do-you-figure in the events of this plot. A Prince of England, uncommon with the rest of Europe and it’s landmarks fails Prince of England Academy. As a representative of the country you are a monarchy of best have traveled to Paris more than once in your freaking life.
Let’s be honest: hiding from a Prince after marrying him will only work if you end up in the alternate dimension where public identification doesn’t exist. Meaning, a monarch from one of the allies of our great nation can find someone using a heck of alot more powerful means than social media and Facebook. Hell, my ex-husband found me and I changed my name, moved out of state, and I began a new life to which he had no connection. He works in insurance, it would seem to me that the Queen of England and her children would have more at their disposal than just the World Wide Web.
Gasp.
Sigh.
This story is void of depth, character development, vocabulary, understanding of the choice nation for which it’s Prince is born to, a good beta reading, and a quality editor; who should have tossed it back to the author with a red inked, “WTF”.
Unless you are being paid to read this to save kittens or cure cancer I would recommend you spend your time elsewise.
This is my 3rd book by this author and it didn't disappoint. Our H is Edward and our h is Faith.
Faith has just graduated college and is lost as what to do now. She's not sure what Ancient and Medieval History can do to help her future. She decides to take the inheritance from her grandparents and do some traveling. As a huge fan of history, she decides to head to Europe. While in Cornwall she ends up at Tinagel Castle and meets a handsome man named Edward. They end up spending time together and talking like old friends. When they are locked into a museum together, Edward has to call for help to get them out.
Edward is not just a history fan like Faith, he is Edward Leighton, a Prince. He is taking some time off from his royal duties when he meets Faith. While he is attracted to her physically, there is so much more he likes. He ask her to spend some more time with him and when she agrees he plans something he knows she will love. A private tour of the Royal Cornwall Museum with a famous historian expert to discuss exhibits with. Edward is so taken with Faith that he request that she allow him to travel with her because he doesn't want this to end yet. She agrees.
Between the traveling and exploring history, Edward and Faith begin to fall in love. They have a hot night together before they decide to get married. They decide on a quickie marriage in Greece. Before the wedding night, Edward takes off to get protection and when he gets back, Faith is gone.
The book picks up 7 years later with Edward in America. While at a museum, he sees his Faith that he has never forgotten... and Lily.
This is one of those books that I was unable to put down. I had to know why Faith left, what the Queen was planning and how would Edward make everything work. An excellent Royal Romance unlike one I have read before.
This is the first book I've read by Marci Fawn and I was not disappointed! I love how this book starts off--Faith has just graduated college and isn't really sure what she wants to do with her degree in Ancient and Medieval History. She has money left from her grandparents and nothing but time, so she decides to travel the world visiting the places that she fell in love with while pursuing her degree. As she's visiting a castle in England, she runs into an Englishman that is not only extremely handsome, but also shares in her love of history.
Edward is crown prince an on holiday. He's trying to enjoy some time away from all of his responsibilities by enjoying his country's rich history. When he runs into the beautiful American Faith, right away he is interested in her. They share a common bond that he has never found with anyone else. As you can tell from the description of the book, they have an intense romance that leads to a marriage and then Faith leaving Edward. Even though it breaks her heart, Faith believes she's doing the right thing by leaving. Flash forward 7 years....
There is a lot going on with the story that you will definitely want to read to find out. Once they reunite high drama ensues! First there are the whys of why she left. Then there is their daughter! And then there is the queen....This was a great story full of characters you'll love and characters you'll love to hate. Love, drama, redemption--and when you find out what caused it all and what happens after....wow!
**I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
Faith had just graduated from college and is taking a trip to visit historical castles before she has to settle down and become an adult. She has just arrived in England and goes to the first castle/museum on her list and meets Edward. Edward is the Crown Prince of England and is just as huge a history buff as Faith is. They decide to team up and visit more when they discover this unrelenting attraction between them. Neither of them can stand to be away from the other. When they make it to Greece, they get married on the beach, but that evening when Edward when to buy supplies for their wedding night, Faith disappears. No one knows what happens until the end of the book. This completely breaks Edward.
Faith flees back to America and shortly after discovers she is having Edward's baby. She can't let him know, though. Years pass by and one day, Edward appears in the museum that Faith works for and happens to be visiting with her daughter. Edward finds out about his daughter and falls in love all over again with Faith and takes them back to England after convincing her to come with him.
When they arrive, his mother, the Queen, does everything she possibly can to destroy their relationship, even going as far as locking Faith in the dungeon without her daughter.
It's not until the end that you realize that the one with the Dirty Crown is actually the Queen. Edward is not as bad and you are lead to believe.
Still enjoyable, but not as "bad boy" as I would have hoped.
Edward is the prince of England. You know, crowns and castles and all that. He decides to take a break from his royal duties and indulge in his love of history. It's during this break in his life that he meets Faith.
Faith has recently graduated college. She has no plans or job prospects and doesn't know what she's going to do with herself. She decides that what she really wants to do is travel Europe. Taking in the sites and learning about the heritage and history of her favorite historical sites. She decides to start with Tintagel Castle. She doesn't expect the handsome stranger she meets there to share her love of history, or for him to be the crown Prince.
It's a whirl-wind romance, almost quite literally. Everything happens very quickly. I'm not exactly sure how much time passed in the first few chapters because it wasn't mentioned. A lot happens along the way; a wedding, a baby, a separation, and a reunion. I won't go into details, you'll have to read it yourself for all that. I can tell you that there is drama and a lot of emotional turmoil. But just like all princes and princesses, they get their happy ever after.
I had some issues with pacing and I couldn't connect with the characters as much as I had hoped I would. Edward doesn't come off as the bad boy prince I was expecting, but I was able to appreciate his much sweeter demeanor as well. If you're looking for a sweet story of fairy tale proportions, you just might like this one.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This a fascinating and interesting book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The story covers Faith Harper who graduated in Ancient & Medieval history and just has enough of her inheritance money left to travel, she makes her way to England and meets Edward Leighton and in the beginning unbeknown to Faith he is a prince. What you will find in this story is intrigue, drama, suspense, emotional feelings, a Queen interference and manipulations, meeting Edward at castle ruins, a date, locked in museum, talking, rescued, meeting the Queen, stubbed, whirlwind romance, wedding in Greece, going out for condoms, coming back Faith missing, back in America, unplanned pregnancy, 7yrs later, a chance meeting, Edward seeing Faith and realizing he has a daughter, has never stopped loving each other, getting back together, disapproving Queen, a crazy princess, Marcus (Bodyguard) admits to Edward that the Queen had sent him to threaten Faith in Greece, taking Faith and daughter, leaving, phone-call, Sorry please come back, Faith stating go back, Apologizes, a marriage and a HEA. There is mild erotic scenes. There is a bonus book included called "Rebel Rockstar" that is just as well written. The story-lines and plots of both books is well thought out and written. The characters are well developed with emotional feelings of love, needs and desires. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a interesting heartwarming romance with a HEA.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. With a name like Dirty Crown, I was expecting a really 'bad boy' prince; you know, one that parties hard and goes through women like they're nothing. Maybe I missed that part of the book, or just chose to ignore it ( which is unlikely). Now looking back, maybe it was the Crown itself that was Dirty??? I fell in love with Edward and Faith from the beginning. Their love was real and undeniable; so imagine my shock when she ran away. The way they were torn apart and tormented for so long will make you angry, regardless of the queen's worthless excuses later (as you can tell I'm still harboring quite a bit of resentment). This is a beautiful story of true love that binds two people together together through time and tribulation. When fate finally finds them together again, they take a stand against the forces that have been seperating them for so long and have amazing results! Of course an HEA is in the cards for Edward and Faith, but there sure is a lot of emotions, suffering, twists and turns, and manipulation that they have to wade through to get there. Loved this book!
I had a really hard time reading this story. The only reason I finished was because I received it as an ARC. The story had good bones and potential at the beginning BUT then it turned, choppy, rushed, hard to follow and unrealistic. For one, make up a country, two the chapters bled together with HUGE scene jumps and changes with no warning, not even a page break. 3, time moved fast, as in weeks went by from one paragraph to the next with little to no detail other than one second she is pregnant and the next having the baby. The characters personalities change in the story so they don't feel realistic and hard to relate to making it hard to get sucked in to the story. And the Prince is not a bad boy by any means of the word. Saying no to an engagement you don't want does not make you a bad boy. He didn't even have a play boy history, or a history of partying, nothing to give him the title of being a 'bad boy' outside of knocking up the girl after one night whom he then proceeded to marry the next day immediately nixing the bad boy act. I'm sorry, I just could NOT get into the story and convince myself it was good. It has the potential to be alright but it needs work.
Faith has just graduated from college and has to figure out what to do with her life. With a small inheritance that she received from her grandparents, she decides to travel for the summer. She figures that she should just explore right now before the trappings of life make it so that she cannot do so. During her travels, she meets Edward. Edward is a prince, no like a real prince. They enjoy each others company and they fall in love. They decide to get married. Edward leaves to get some provisions and then comes back to find Faith gone. Faith has returned back home. She has come to the realization that she doesn't want Edward to give up everything that is and could be his. When she returns home, she finds out that she is pregnant. Oh joy. Life for neither one of them ends up being what they dreamed that it could be. But several years later, they meet back up and Edward finds out about his daughter. I really liked the book. It was a good read. I wasn't sure how things would go, but in the end it was great. - I received an arc for an honest review.
This book follows the characters of Faith Harper, a recently graduated history major and Edward Leighton, crown Prince of England. They meet almost accidently and the sparks immediately fly between the two characters, and as they decide to travel the world, the chemistry between the two is unstoppable. When they can't deny their feelings for one another any longer, they decide to marry only to have Faith suddenly run from Edward and flee back to America. Seven years later, Edward makes a surprise vacation to America where he runs into Faith, with a daughter named Lily that looks strikingly like him. As he realizes that he still loves her after all this time, he begs her to return to England with him so that he can get to know his daughter. As the Queen tries everything to make Edward see that a commoner is not the right match, and tries to convince him that marrying another noble is the best thing for him. Eventually, things finally take a turn in their favor, and the couple gets their HEA. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a short quick read. Perfect for a day at the pool or beach. It is a standalone book with no cliffhanger. You will find hot steamy sex so definitely 18+.
This is the first book I have read by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was average for the genre. Faith and Edward meet at a historic castle in England. They were attracted to each other from the start and sparks flew. Can they find happiness together? Or will Edward's manipulative mother, the queen, succeed in driving them apart forever?
I would have liked to see Edward have more backbone and guts than he did. I can't believe that he just let her go for seven years without trying to find out why she left without a word the night of their wedding. He is a prince, it's not like he wouldn't have had any resources at his disposal. He did gain some backbone by the end of the story, but to me his character was too wimpy.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! I am still shocked, lol. This kind of reminds me of Cinderella story with a stepmother (queen) that takes things to a whole new cruel level. Faith is a just a regular girl, taking the dream vacation of her life and happens to meet the Prince of England while visiting the museum. They are instantly attracted to one another and Faith tries to not get caught up with feelings for Edward because she knows she's not good enough for him. Edward could care less about society rules but at the same time he's like a puppet on the queen's string. This queen fights real dirty & when the going gets tough, the weak get going. I like Edward though he worked my patience falling for his mothers numerous traps, Faith is very forgiving, she just needs a little more fight. Very interesting, emotional read.
Faith gets her degree and decides to take a year off and tour Europe. She loves all things British and that sort, well as you will learn that IS her major. She is shy but happens to meet a really nice guy named Edward at the Tinagel Castle in Cornwall. They hit it off and decided to spend time together. Lot of time. Now I am no one of those reviewers who gives story lines away so I will not but I will say that for me Faith was actually stronger in this story than Edward was. I did like the story very much and this was the first time I have read anything from Marci Fawn.
There is a second novella in this book which was just as good Rebel Rockstar. You more than get your back for the buck!!! I look forward to reading more from Marci Fawn and I thank the author who gifted me this book so I could get hooked on a new author. This is my honest review.
I was given an ARC copy of Dirty Crown for an honest review. This is my first novel that I've read by this author. Faith has just graduated college and is not sure what to do next in life. So touring Europe sounds like the perfect thing to do before life and responsibilities kick in. Edward needed a break from his royal life, he just needed to disappear for a bit and get away from his responsibilities. So he goes to a place where he knows he can find peace. What he doesn't expect to find is an American beauty that takes his breath away. I love the instant chemistry between Faith and Edward, and they're fast courtship. When others intervene and force the two apart, they don't realize that Faith and Edward were made for each other. If you love a royal HEA, look no further Dirty Crown is yours to read.
It was an okay read for me. I just didn’t like that most of the book was fast forwarded. I felt a lot of pieces were missing and some parts were untold. I liked the characters, I thought they were great, and I liked the idea of the storyline but I felt that it could have been a little more extended to tell more of their story. It was fairly well written and I liked the connection Edward had with Faith after a while but even then everything had happened way too quickly and I felt it was over before the story really began. I also felt that Edward wasn’t a bad boy at all. Yeah it said that people used to call him a player but that doesn’t really mean anything, he’s a mummy’s boy and does everything she says. Faith, on the other hand, had a fiery spark in her that I liked but she tended to suppress it more often then not on her own.
A crowned prince and a commoner meet at the most unlikely place, a castle museum. The more time Faith and Edward spend together the more they find they have in common so when Edward wants to come with Faith on her European tour she readily agrees. A stop in Greece ends with a secret wedding and then a run away bride. Seven years later Faith and Edward meet again, along with Lily(the daughter he didn't know existed). With a queen who starts out evil to the core, a princess who has never heard the word no so she can't handle the rejection by Edward and a security guard with a big secret the story of Faith and Edward isn't easy. But true love finds a way in the end for them. I enjoy Marci Fawn's writing. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Very emotional story. When Edward and Faith meet, they are drawn to each right away. She loves history and old building, and want to see the world. Even though he was a prince, Edward hasn't really been able to just travel and have fun. Faith is sweet and loving, and Edward is so nice. As their love grown, forces close to Edward separate them. After many years, when they meet again their love is stronger then ever, but those forces are still determined to keep them apart. I laughed and cried reading this book. I was so angry on behalf of Edward and Faith. Why can't love be enough? It is everything. Why do some people think status and wealth are more important? In the end Love is enough.
This book was okay but it was also the cheesiest book I have read this year. Not to mention the main characters Edward and Faith were too eager and also too cheesy. I am in love with Lily though. This was the second royal prince and commoner romance book I have read but, this one had a twist where the commoner had a secret baby (Lily.) The beginning where they meet is perfect but their romance story goes to fast and then they get married and it just feel too sudden but then i start to understand why Faith left Edward after their sudden wedding (not going to mention why.) I liked Edward and Faith getting back together in the end but how they get there is too messy and crazy. I don't recommend this book for people who don't like quick cheesy romance books.
Received this complimentary arc from the author for an honest review. Oh what a beautiful story. Edward and Faith...so meant to be together. Faith is interested in History and whilst travelling, she meets Edward. They are instantly attracted. One thing leads to another and hot sex BUT then she leaves!!!! Why? Then Faith finds out she is pregnant. This story was beautiful, sad at times but due to scheming people, made me mad. Life treated them so unfairly but as they say, love never dies. I think the Crown was dirty, tainted, but there are reasons why. A scheming Queen, a crazy Princess and loyal subjects. Edward fights all the way for Faith and his child and it was a brilliantly written story. Loved it all.
Faith is a history buff loves anything to do with History so she is going from place to place looking in every museum and she runs into Edward and he does not tell her who he is at first but they get locked in at the museum Edward has to call the guy who takes care of the museum to get out Edward really likes Faith and goes with her to Greece and gets married but the wedding night something happens and she gets out of there and moves back to America and well you have to read it this was a great love story love everything Marci Fawn writes very good. Hot and sexy too lol I got this free for an honest review. Michelle
I really, really wanted to like this book - but Edward, to me, was big wuss! Come on, man up! I felt like each time he started to have a redeeming quality, he did something so stupid or didn't have the balls to be a man! Faith was a much stronger character in this story and I'm not sure I could have finished reading if it wasn't for her.
Yes, there's a HEA, but the story wasn't as strong as it could have been. Edward could have been more developed and more of a "bad boy" than he was. I did enjoy the ending to the story and I plan to read another book by Marci.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
