This was quite a drama, filled with suspense and no so much mystery but the one thing that made me give a 4 instead of 5 stars was the heroine. I just found her annoying and meek and I know she was "strong" in her intentions she just performed them in a way that didn't work for me. Her indecisions and lack of backbone to set things straight with that shit-person of her mother, pissed me off untl the very end, and not even Theo, who was just the opposite of her - a dominant, persistant alpha male who'll take no shit from anyone, could not pull the higher rating of the story for me.
But nevertheless, it's a solid NA romance drama with elements of crime, mystery and intense thrill.

What a great read!! This was suspenseful and sexy!!!
Mac has always gotten herself in trouble and Theo was always there to get her out of it. Except one night everything goes wrong and Mac must run. And now she is back with no money, no place to go, and a ton of secrets.
Theo is an MMA fighter, a champ. He has girls all over and he doesn't do relationships. But when Mackenzie walks back into his life everything is turned upside down. She looks sickly and did he just see her go in to a woman's shelter? No he hasn't waited 3 long years to see her again to let her struggle alone. But will she disappear on him again?!?!
This was a beautiful love story full of pain, smiles, love, heart ache, heart break, fear and so many other emotions. Mackenzie (Mac) has been through hell and back and for Theo to be her knight and shining armor just brought tears to my eyes. And let me say I just love Logan!! Also Moody I really like him. Can we get a book about him?!?! There is so much going on in this book that I forgot that i was tired and read straight through. I could not put it down. And I will say I am glad her mom got what she deserved.
This is a MUST read fantastic book. There is some MMA fighting and references but it is so much more. Their love story and all the twist take front and center.

Sexy. Suspenseful. Emotional. Phenomenal!!! This book had the smoldering tension of a contemporary romance yet the angst of a romantic suspense, both balanced perfectly to make a great story.I loved how Mackenzie and Theo had a backstory; best friends for years and years. The growing feelings they had for each other over those years was so endearing, and while the culmination of said feelings on that one fateful night wasn't the ideal expression of feelings, the result bound them together in a way that could not have been more perfect. (I'm being vague, I know. No spoilers!!!)The story flowed smoothly, and I really was rooting for Mac. She wasn't dealt a fair hand, and I was eager to see how that got resolved. And, boy, was I NOT expecting that! All in all, this was a fantastic read that I couldn't put down, and I will ABSOLUTELY read more books by C.M.! ***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

No matter what C.M. writes it draws you in. Love this book from beginning to end. Theo is so awesome. I wanted to strangle Mac a few times. But I understood why she did things the way she did. I highly recommend this book. Steam factor gets 10 stars. I received a free copy for an honest review

Sometimes you have to work hard for love
Theo, what can I say about him, he has it all but the one that got away. He's 25 and he's going to retire after his next fight. Moody tells him that theirs some chick wanting to see him, he thinks its some loco girl but when he sees who it really is he can't believe his eyes. After three years Mackenzie Brooks just shows up at his place. He had tried tracking her down. It was like she had just fell off the face of the earth. Then after three years she just shows up. She's not the same person as she was before. The only reason Mac came back to town was to get the money her great-aunt had left her but her mother had taken it and spent it on pills and booze. Then her mother acted like she was the bad one like always. Theo followed her and found out that she was staying in a woman's shelter. He didn't like it at all. Then he found out that she had a kid but he didn't remember having sex with her one night and she didn't tell him so he didn't know that the little girl Logan Mitchell was his, but the first time his mom seen her she just knew right away that she was her granddaughter. She promised not to tell him before the fight. Mac was hoping by then she and Logan would be gone. She knew that her moms boyfriend was going to find her and this time he would kill her. She knew she was safe in the apartment, Theo had great security but she was still worried. Theo knows that's she's hiding something else besides the identity of the father of Logan. She wants Theo and wants Logan to know her father but she doesn't want to involve Theo in her mess. She's running out of time. She needs to find out where Stefano is and if her mom knows where he is. She don't want to have anything to do with her mom. Then he protects her from her mom and she has to tell him the truth about Logan and its breaks his heart that she kept her and she went through this all alone but he knows shes keeping something else from him. He's worried that she's going to run again and then he will lose them forever. She tells Theo about Stefano but not all of it. He promises to keep them safe. While he's away doing his last fight Stefano shows up and tries to take them but Moody arrived just in time and got them to safety. She doesn't want Moody to tell Theo what happened until after the fight. She told him that she won't take Logan from Theo because she deserves a stable life. She didn't want to leave she wanted to be a real family. She was scared and she thought if she went to the police she would go to jail. So Mac decided to run, but Moody finds her so she doesn't get far. Then Theo gets a text message saying two million by sept 23 or girl dies. This is before his fight and it says he can't go to the police. ,Mac tells Moody everything and she doesn't leave anything out. Then Moody tells her that she has to promise not to run again and he won't tell Theo that she was going to run. He said that together they would get this guy. She agrees to down to the police station and make a report but she's upset about lying to him. What's going to happen when he finds out that she tried to run again? Then her mom and Stefano get Mac will Theo find her in time or will he lose her before they even have a chance? This was my first time reading this author and I really enjoyed this book! I will tell you this, you will cry more in the beginning of the book--which is unusual--but better to get the sad over with!

She's the only woman he's ever loved and he's not about to let her run away again.
Mac is in serious trouble. Three years ago was the last time she saw any of her family or friends, but now she feels she has no choice but to ask for help. Asking for help from the only man she's ever wanted is even harder than she thought it would be. Mac has so many secrets she's not sure where to begin. Even worse, she's afraid that when Theo finds out the truth, he'll let her walk away for good.
High drama in this book--lots of excitement, deep yearning, and some hot sex scenes. Mac has drama with her family, with Theo, and ton of drama with all of her secrets. This book sucks you in from the first page and you may end up reading the book in one sitting--that's what I did! I loved how the author grabs your heart strings from the beginning and keeps you turning the pages with all the suspense and trying to figure out what is going to happen in the end. C.M. Seabrook is going to be an author that I follow from now on.

Before I say anything about my experince in reading this book, it should be noted that New Adult books rarely don't make me want to take ice picks to my eyeballs ... that being said ... Fighting Blind is OTT N/A (in my opinion)! Honestly, the decision making on both the lead's parts could possibly be called teenagerish. Mackenzie's back and forth was overwhelming at times. Actually, all the time. But she's a kid. She's barely 21 years old with almost no adult figure to look up to. Except she kinda did. She had a solid friendship with a boy and his family ... which leads me to the problem I have with the back-story of the book. Basically, I got just enough for me understand why she left 3 years ago and I even got enough to understand why she stayed away. But I didn't get enough of what really mattered, with was Mackenzie and Theo. But I can read between the lines and I can infer, so ... it was all plausible except Theo's memory of the night that changed everything.
The story fell apart for me rapidly as soon as Theo's memory was revealed ...
So clearly, this book was not one I enjoyed. Stories have to make sense to me. Characterization has to be believable. And plot lines have to be realistic, even in fiction.

I have read a few of C.M. Seabrook's books and she never fails to disappoint. You are pulled into the story from the first page. This story was no different. The romance was well written and flowed perfectly. The sex scenes were hot and sweet.
Theo is a successful gym owner and MMA fighter. Mac was his best friend who disappeared 3 years ago. She just left and had no contact with him since. He would do anything for her, she was the only female he loved or wanted to love.
Mac suddenly appears in his gym, the 3 years away has changed her and she is hiding why she left, what happened to her in the 3 years and why she has returned. Theo knows she needs help. He makes it his mission to help her and find out the truth.
Theo, cannot remember what happened the night Mac left, but she does. Will she tell him? Will she tell him why she left? Will their love overcome all the lies and secrets?
If you like a gripping romance with a HEA, then this is a must read. You will not be disappointed.

While this suspenseful contemporary romance had two pet hates of mine - lack of communication between the MCs and a heroine who's not the sharpest tool in the shed - it had me flipping through digital pages all day, gluing me to my kindle.
Theo only ever loved one girl in his life but she disappeared three years ago. Now she's back and he has no idea why.
Mackenzie has secrets and they're not only life-threatening but life-changing ones.
I wouldn't have minded more flashbacks (WHAT? Did a person who normally hates flashbacks just ask for MORE?) to establish their past friendship more. When writing a short book, it's hard to add depth. In this one, Mackenzie was fleshed out, but Theo's character was an MMA fighter who's dad left when he was a kid and he challenged his anger into fighting. This is basically all we know about him. That, and he's obsessed with his childhood best friend. I would've liked to have seen more from him.
Even with my above complaints, the book was still entertaining and was light and quick. Can't wait to see what CM Seabrook comes up with next. :D

Mac was a runner. Whenever there was something she didn't want to face, whenever she became fearful, she ran and went into hiding. A few years ago, a man threatened her life, so she ran. Theo was devastated when she seemed to vanish into thin air. But eventually Mac hit rock bottom on all levels and hesitantly reached out to Theo for help. Mac has many secrets hidden from Theo, a major one in particular. The anticipation of Theo learning of her secret is truly exciting. As Mac & Theo try to reconcile their differences amid secrets and injured pride, the psycho who has trailed her all these years, catches up with her and threatens to end all hopes of a happy ending. An earth-shattering confrontation has one hanging on with bated breathe. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five stars.

È scritto veramente bene, così bene che alcune lacune o alcuni passaggi saltati nemmeno li noti 🙈 come il loro passato, completamente saltato, o la parte sulla bambina, trattata molto superficialmente.. poteva tagliare qualche scena di sesso e approfondire qualcos’altro magari, ma a parte questo è una bella storia, avvincente e scritta molto bene! Aspetto il prossimo su Moody 😍

What an incredible read.. I was given this amazing book in exchange for an honest review and boy what a wild ride. In this short book ...lol. I know it's not short but truth be told you want so much more at the end. It has no cliffhanger at all in fact the story is well written from beginning to end.. But you do fall for all the characters Theo, Mackenzie, little Logan, Moody and Theos mom.. Are just great.. Especially Moody.. Hint hint C.M Seabrook .. Here's an insider to the story...

But not because the women are sad or ugly but because his heart was given to someone a long time ago even though she didn't know it.. Mackenzie was her name. The woman who was his best friend and center of his world. Every thing was going great he was about to tell her how he truly felt then one night he got drunk with her by his side then she is forever gone. With no trace. Then one day she is back but she is hiding something from him..but what?

This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, and my word, it will not be the last. I loved this story, and was enthralled from the very beginning. Theo is an MMA fighter, who is a bad boy ladies man. Mackenzie has had a hard life, but was always in love with Theo. When Mackenzie arrives back in town after having left abruptly, will secrets finally be exposed? You really need to read this for yourself to find out.
This is an amazing story, and the author has done a great job in having this story as it flows effortlessly. I recommend this book for everybody who is a romance lover, and I personally cannot wait to read more of this authors work in the future.

Theo and Mac grew up together. And then she just disappeared. Now she is back. But she brings several secrets with her. Theo wants to be angry and push her away but he can't deny his connection to Mac. A story filled with unconditional love, passion, strength, suspense, and a psychotic villain. A great read!

Theo Ryan gestisce una palestra in cui si allena assiduamente per i suoi incontri a Las Vegas, la gabbia è la sua casa ed è idolatrato dal popolo femminile e temuto da quello maschile. Le cose stanno girando bene quando un fantasma del suo passato torna a tormentarlo. Rivedere Mac dopo tre anni gli procura rabbia più che sollievo, era la sua amica e avrebbe fatto di tutto per aiutarla perché lei era molto di più, possedeva il suo cuore anche se metteva a rischio la sua sanità mentale. Letteralmente scappata anni prima senza dire una parola era pronta a darsela a gambe un’altra volta ma lui non gliel’avrebbe permesso.

Lui è così inarrivabile e lei così lontana dagli stereotipi delle tipe che il glorioso lottatore MMA frequenta. Lui l’ha sempre tirata fuori dai guai in cui la madre ciclicamente la metteva ma c’è qualcosa di più grosso in ballo e non è solo più la sua miserabile vita ad essere in gioco.

È un buon esordio per l’autrice canadese che soprattutto all’inizio della narrazione fa del loro incontro e di tutti segreti che custodisce Mac, motivo di grande apprensione, dando alla narrazione una giusta enfasi e fluidità. Loro si erano già innamorati anni prima e la testardaggine di Theo permette finalmente alla coppia di darsi una possibilità mentre le fragilità di Mac non fanno che destabilizzare la loro unione dall’inizio alla fine.
‘Come la prima volta che ci siamo baciati, c’è la sensazione di far la cosa giusta. Questo è il suo posto. Tra le mie braccia.’
Gli spunti sono tanti e a un certo punto gli eventi sono un crescendo di pathos e adrenalina che si allontanano dallo sport romance per avvicinarsi a un dark Romance di tutto rispetto.
Le fughe, le rincorse e le scene hot abbastanza presenti rendono la lettura veloce e coinvolgente. È più facile entrare in empatia con Theo e la sua indubbia forza di volontà, è molto amorevole nei confronti di Mac nonostante le omissioni che quest’ultima gli ha riservato. Mac non è sempre coerente con i suoi gesti ma il suo tremendo passato e quello che sta vivendo nel presente la giustificano rendendola più umana ai nostri occhi.
Nel racconto troviamo in diversi momenti clou, l’amico e compagno di lotte di Theo, Moody che si troverà nel prossimo capitolo a conquistare il cuore di Isabelle anche lei appena tornata in città.

5***** Not an easy read but definitely a brilliant one
I’m a sucker for second chances romances so Theo stole my breath at the blurb; when I got to the first scene, he had worked his way to my heart, and by the end of the book, I was “his forever: heart, body, and soul”. He’s as intoxicating as drugs. I couldn’t get enough of him. I read the book almost in one sitting and probably would have done so if life hadn’t gotten in the way. LOL
Readers should be warned though that this isn’t a light-weight romance. It’s a heavy-weight novella, and definitely a champion. Despite the warning in the blurb that the “book contains mature themes, steamy, sexual scenes and graphic language”, I wasn’t expecting it to be so gritty and raw. That doesn’t mean I disliked it. On the contrary, I loved this book but it felt like a blow to my stomach multiple times.
All the fighting metaphors have to do with the fact that Theo is an MMA fighter. When he was young and started picking up fights to release frustration, his mom enrolled him in martial arts, which eventually led to a very lucrative career for him. At twenty-five, he’s won enough fights and got enough money to think about retiring. To be honest, I don’t like fighting so that element of the story was a bit of a concern for me in the beginning; but it wasn’t an issue in the book. In fact, it was interesting to see how much control Theo had over his anger and violent tendencies. At no time does he threaten the people he loves and that’s awesome, in my opinion. I’ve seen that happen in real life to people very close to me so it’s a sensitive topic and one the author tackled skillfully.
For me, the only tiny chink in this otherwise sparklingly brilliant book is Mac’s awful choices. I get that she was only 19 when the world fell on her head – I don’t do spoilers so NO WAY I’m going to be any more specific here. I understand that three years later she might not have matured much, but still… there were many times throughout the book when I wanted to shake some sense into her. My respect for Theo only grew even more in those occasions because he managed not to do that. Barely...LOL
The supporting characters are also quite well developed, realistic and believable. My favorites: Moody, Logan, and Clair, in the order they appear but not necessary in the order of preference because I wouldn’t be able to rank them. I liked them for different reasons but with equal force. I’ve got no idea if the author is planning on making a series out of this story but I would LOVE to read Moody’s. *winks* However, not all supportive characters are likeable. C. M. Seabrook did a great job with the villains as well. They’re MEAN and you can smell it in the air. Her descriptive skills are that good! They make your skin crawl and your blood boil.
As for the storyline, it’s a page-turner if I ever read one. I literally had to force myself to stop reading when it turned midnight yesterday because I needed to get up at five. Then, today, I couldn’t get home fast enough to finish reading it. There are enough twists and turns to keep you engaged and even the predictable bits are so well done and fit so snuggly in the big picture that you’re glad you saw them coming, know what I mean? Under the characters’ circumstances, the situations are plausible and realistic. I mean that they might not be something that happen to people on a daily basis; but they most certainly could happen in real life the way they unfold in this story. Finally, the author uses alternating first-person POVs to tell the story from Theo’s and Mac’s perspectives. That always adds realism to a narrative because you’re inside the character’s head. It’s not something easy to do but C. M. Seabrook aces it.
I saved my favorite bit for last: sex! Boy were those scenes melting hot or what? Theo took my breath away every time. And Mac’s as well. LOL With all their past history, things get hot between them quite early in the story without feeling rushed. It feels oh so right! As a writer of erotic romances, I know how hard it is to build the tension and create the right atmosphere for a good love scene. One that will involve the reader at the same time that it advances the story. Again, C. M. nails it! (pun intended) Theo and Mac’s chemistry is potent; they’re sexy; and their lovemaking is intense. You can’t ask for much else in a romance. Well, maybe a gorgeous yet flawed leading lady. Check. Hmm, how about a drool-worthy, tough-looking but soft-at-the-core hero? Check! See? Fighting Blind’s got it all!

Ma quanto amo questo libro i due personaggi principali sono due miei preferiti di quest'anno perché anche se ne hanno passate tante quando sono insieme fanno scintille.
Theo fa MMA. Ha un solo amore. Mac.
Quando lei torna dopo anni e ha bisogno del suo aiuto, lui non esita a lasciare tutto e andare da lei. Ma i segreti che nasconde faranno sì che molte situazioni diventino pericolose per entrambi e non siamo sicuri fino alla fine che questo amore basti.
Ho divorato Questo libro! È stata una lettura veloce ma molto intensa per via del rapporto che i due personaggi principali hanno fin da quando sono giovani, ed entrando nell'età adulta questo non cambia! I due hanno una chimica che ti spinge a leggere e leggere e leggere E a non fermarti mai!
Per quanto riguarda le scene di sesso non sono niente male sono ben descritte sono sensuali sexy affascinanti.
I personaggi secondari hanno una buona caratterizzazione, le situazioni che si creano, anche quelle drammatiche, non sono forzate e vanno naturalmente nell'ordine delle cose.
Le scene drammatiche in cui si parla di droga e di violenza non sono pesanti dunque si leggono con molta facilità, senza turbare gli animi. Posso consigliare questo numero anche a chi non ama i Dark o i libri violenti.
Ho letto questo libro o su consiglio di un'amica e gli sarò sempre grata per avermelo fatto scoprire perché è veramente una lettura che ho amato dalla prima all'ultima pagina!

This book was amazing!! Theo and Mackenzie find each other again after several years apart. Only to go through some obstacles to be able to be together! This book was so well written I actually felt Theos and Mackenzies love they had for each other!! A wonderfully written book and amazing read!! I'll definitely read more by CM Seabrook!!

This was book perfection for me. It had absolutely EVERYTHING that I love in a book. The story was just great but the characters of Mac , Theo and Logan were sublime.
I would happily read the phone book if Ms Seabrook wrote it.

Non so resistere alle novità, (soprattutto quando hanno una copertina così bella) ma questo oramai è un fatto appurato, quindi non potevo perdermi questo romanzo… ma poi vogliamo parlare delle caratteristiche di Don’t hurt us? I protagonisti, Mackenzie e Theo, si conoscono da una vita, e per altrettanto tempo si piacciono ma non se lo dicono, poi lei sparisce e appare tre anni dopo. Perché? Cos’è successo? Perché è tornata? Ma soprattutto… perché i sentimenti dopo tanto tempo ci sono ancora e lei nasconde così tante cose?
“Non mi sono mai sentito così codardo in vita mia come in questo momento. Ho immaginato tante di quelle volte cosa le avrei detto o fatto nel caso in cui l’avessi rivista, ma di certo lasciarla andare non è mai stata un’opzione”.
Vorrei iniziare parlando di Theo, che a vederlo sembra così rude, – un po’ per lo sport che pratica, un po’ per la vita che ha sempre fatto – sicuramente è imponente e non emana immediatamente quell’aria da bravo ragazzo, ma alla fine anche se si scalda con facilità, in realtà lo è. Ed è una cosa che ho apprezzato. Theo è un uomo fatto e finito, sa cosa vuole, quando lo vuole e perché. Non si nasconde, non fugge, cerca risposte ed è sempre presente. I sentimenti che prova per Mac li ha sempre tenuti in un angolino del suo cuore e quando lei sparisce non riesce a darsi risposte. A distanza di tre anni non pensa minimamente di potersela ritrovare di fronte, eppure accade e rimane basito, ma non riesce a far trapelare la gioia perché la rabbia ha la precedenza. Perché la sua amica, la sua migliore amica, non vuole chiarirgli la situazione? Fondamentalmente non sa nemmeno lei cosa e perché ritorna nella loro cittadina e lo cerca. Lei si fida di lui, è innamorata, si pente di essere scappata ma il pericolo la segue, e non trova giusto metterlo nei guai o renderlo partecipe di tutti i suoi segreti. Non perché non si fida, ma perché ha paura di una sua reazione e soprattutto si vergogna.
“Voglio credere che una come me possa avere il suo ‘per sempre felice e contenta’… ma so che non succederà mai”.
Mackenzie ha più di un senso di colpa sulle spalle, ma razionalmente sapeva ancora prima di andarsene cosa avrebbe dovuto fare, ma scappare è la scelta più semplice e più volte le sue paure la portano a pensare che sia anche l’unica strada percorribile. È giovane, è spaventata, ma sa anche che per stare bene, deve stare con Theo. Ma come dirgli tutto? Come fare per non perderlo?
“Mi innamoro di nuovo di lei. Nell’inferno che è diventata la mia vita, lei è la mia luce. Senza di lei, non sono niente”.
Ho apprezzato la scrittura di C.M. Seabrook, l’ho trovata molto scorrevole, la storia è incalzante, incuriosisce e porta il lettore a divorare pagina dopo pagina. A tratti ho trovato il tutto un po’ scontato, non lo nego, però la storia merita. Ha dato vita a due personaggi complicati, lui con un carattere forte ma che pur di proteggere le persone che ama prenderebbe il mondo a pugni, e lei che vive nelle sue paure, ma che vorrebbe solo amare ed essere libera di essere amata.
“So cosa voglio da quando avevo sedici anni. Voglio lei. Prendermi cura di lei. Amarla”.
Ammetto che avrei preferito veder approfondite un paio di cose in più, ma nel complesso la storia l’ho apprezzata e mi è piaciuta, tanto che spero arrivi presto il secondo volume di questa serie. Tranquilli, il romanzo è conclusivo. Secondo me dovreste dare una possibilità al romanzo e a questa nuova autrice nel nostro panorama.

I sentimenti che prova per Mac li ha sempre tenuti in un angolino del suo cuore e quando lei sparisce non riesce a darsi risposte. A distanza di tre anni non pensa minimamente di potersela ritrovare di fronte, eppure accade e rimane basito, ma non riesce a far trapelare la gioia perché la rabbia ha la precedenza. Perché la sua amica, la sua migliore amica, non vuole chiarirgli la situazione? Fondamentalmente non sa nemmeno lei cosa e perché ritorna nella loro cittadina e lo cerca. Lei si fida di lui, è innamorata, si pente di essere scappata ma il pericolo la segue, e non trova giusto metterlo nei guai o renderlo partecipe di tutti i suoi segreti. Non perché non si fida, ma perché ha paura di una sua reazione e soprattutto si vergogna.
“Voglio credere che una come me possa avere il suo ‘per sempre felice e contenta’… ma so che non succederà mai”.
Mackenzie ha più di un senso di colpa sulle spalle, ma razionalmente sapeva ancora prima di andarsene cosa avrebbe dovuto fare, ma scappare è la scelta più semplice e più volte le sue paure la portano a pensare che sia anche l’unica strada percorribile. È giovane, è spaventata, ma sa anche che per stare bene, deve stare con Theo. Ma come dirgli tutto? Come fare per non perderlo?
“Mi innamoro di nuovo di lei. Nell’inferno che è diventata la mia vita, lei è la mia luce. Senza di lei, non sono niente”.
Ho apprezzato la scrittura di C.M. Seabrook, l’ho trovata molto scorrevole, la storia è incalzante, incuriosisce e porta il lettore a divorare pagina dopo pagina. A tratti ho trovato il tutto un po’ scontato, non lo nego, però la storia merita. Ha dato vita a due personaggi complicati, lui con un carattere forte ma che pur di proteggere le persone che ama prenderebbe il mondo a pugni, e lei che vive nelle sue paure, ma che vorrebbe solo amare ed essere libera di essere amata.
“So cosa voglio da quando avevo sedici anni. Voglio lei. Prendermi cura di lei. Amarla”.
Ammetto che avrei preferito veder approfondite un paio di cose in più, ma nel complesso la storia l’ho apprezzata e mi è piaciuta, tanto che spero arrivi presto il secondo volume di questa serie. Tranquilli, il romanzo è conclusivo. Secondo me dovreste dare una possibilità al romanzo e a questa nuova autrice nel nostro panorama.

The feels in this book were UNRELENTING!! Each and every scene throbbed with such gutwrenching emotion, SCORCHING chemistry, and PALPABLE tension that it literally sent shock waves through my system.

I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish and was so enthralled I could not put this book down! The romance between Theo and Mac was just so achingly emotional, EXQUISITELY tender, uber angsty and utterly intoxicating!!!! They saw the same desperate hunger, heartache and pain mirrored in one another's eyes and it resonated in each and every scene together.
Theo took the job of protector and doting lover very seriously! I clung to his every gruffly whispered promise, every breathtaking kiss, every soul-scorching caress. He would do whatever it took to right the wrong that was done to her, to see that beautiful radiant smile again, crush anyone who dared to threaten her or “Princess Logan.” Speaking of that little girl. Cutest. Toddler. Ever!!!! My ovaries literally exploded in the endearing scenes with the Big Bad MMA fighter who was brought to his knees by that precious little girl. More than anything he wants to love, cherish and care for Mackenzie and Logan...if only his girl would stop running and learn to trust him--in their love. And holy smokes! These two set off some seriously explosive sparks in the bedroom!
I truly could gush on and on about this magnificent MMA book, penned by the sensationally talented C.M. Seabrook. But it will end with this: If you are looking for an exhilarating, hyper-intense, blazing hot romance chock full of EPIC feels and jaw dropping twists and turns, and, of course, a heart-melting HEA that will leave you all aglow, then this book is a win-win!

La ragazza è sparita per tre lunghi anni senza dare spiegazioni ma un giorno riappare e bussa alla sua porta. Per Theo è uno shock e fatica a riconoscerla. Cosa è successo alla ragazza che conosceva un tempo? È combattuto tra risentimento, amore e perdono. Theo è da sempre innamorato di Mac ma non lo ha mai confessato per timore di rovinare la loro amicizia e perderla per sempre.
Dal canto suo, Mackenzie torna in città per riscuotere l’eredità di una prozia, peccato che di quei soldi non ci sia traccia perché sua madre è arrivata prima di lei.
Prima di andarsene di nuovo la ragazza va a trovare Theo, l’unico di cui si è sempre fidata. Ma i segreti che Mac si porta dentro sono tanti; Theo dal canto suo non ha intenzione di rinunciare ancora una volta a lei ed è pronto ad abbattere tutte le barriere per scoprire cosa nasconde.
I protagonisti mi sono entrati dentro, specialmente Mac: la sua fragilità, la sua forza e il suo spirito di contraddizione l’hanno resa imperfetta e umana ai miei occhi. Si è trovata coinvolta in situazioni più grandi di lei ma nonostante questo non si è arresa. Sua madre non è stata in grado di proteggerla, troppo presa da alcol, pasticche e dalle relazioni tossiche in cui si butta a capofitto.
Così Mac, per non trascinare a fondo con sé Theo, ha preferito scappare, rinunciando a lui.
Theo ha sempre protetto Mac e di certo non vuole rinunciare a lei ora che è tornata, soprattutto dopo aver scoperto la sua più grande omissione.
In questo romanzo i segreti la fanno da padrone, così come le fughe, i sensi di colpa, la passione e l’adrenalina. Tutti questi ingredienti hanno reso Don’t hurt us un romanzo scorrevole, appassionante e completo.
La storia di Theo e Mackenzie mi ha conquistato. Adoro le storie di riscatto, perdono e seconde possibilità, ci danno modo di sperare e capire che forse nella vita può esserci sempre il lieto fine. Non vedo l’ora di leggere i volumi successivi. A proposito del prossimo romanzo della serie, mi auguro che sia dedicato al braccio destro di Theo, Moody, che in questo primo volume ha avuto un ruolo importante ed è stato molto di sostegno alla coppia. Il suo passato da marine mi affascina molto. Chissà cosa ci riserverà C.M Seabrook al riguardo.
Straconsigliata la lettura a tutte le inguaribili romanticone come me.

This is a interesting and intriguing book to read and I absolutely enjoyed reading it. The story covers Theo a MMA fighter who is 25yrs old and is thinking of retiring, when he is told by his friend (Moody) there is a woman that wants to speak to him. He sees Mackenzie Brooks a woman he has searched for but did not find and here she is after 3yrs, underweight and with dark shadows under her eyes. Mackenzie (aka Mac) did not want to bring Theo down with her problems 3yrs ago and ran, she came back to town to get her inheritance money from her aunt but her mother took it, she just wanted to see Theo once again. The obvious baddies in this story is Mac's mother and her boyfriend Stefano. What you will find in this book is drama, intrigue, suspense, a MMA fighter (Theo), a scared woman (Mac), Theo's friend (Moody), a uncaring drug loving mother and her boyfriend (Stefano), feelings of shock-anger-relief, following Mac, a women's shelter, pharmacy, no money, a child, wants to keep Mac and child (Logan) safe, apartment, park, Theo's mother (Clair), questions, Logan is Theo's child, telling the truth to Theo, don't think of running, find a job, scar, admitting Stefano cut her, security system damaged, Stefano, threats, Moody saves Mac, discovering Mac wanted to run again, anger, Mac abducted, wants money, drop off arranged, kills Mac's mother, cutting Mac, pain, shooting, ambulance, 2mths later, packing, going somewhere, a proposal, acceptance, emotional feeling, love and there is erotic scenes in the story. The story-line and plot of the story is well thought out and written, the pace is steady and not rushed. The characters have personality with emotional feelings of fears, needs and desires. I would recommend this book to fans that like to read a well written romance with a happy ending.
