I really enjoyed this prequel to the book "Mine". This Sci-Fi / horror genre story wonderfully tells what happened before the young people got involved in the follow on story. Battles style is in top form as he paints several character's with different personalities that allow us to get in their shoes and understand the dangers and terror we may face when confronted with the powerful unknown and mysterious. Fantastic read.

Read After Mine. Absolutely read this book after you read MINE by Brett Battles. This one tells the story of how the Reclaimer came to Earth and how it wound up at the facility in Colorado. Short (roughly 1/3 the length of MINE) and told in a couple of different ways, it sheds light on the initial attempts to understand the Reclaimer. Very enjoyable read that adds depth to MINE.

A nice little short that examines the origin of Titan project and how the Reclaimer found it's way to it's place of discovery by the teenagers.
I would recommend reading this after Mine even though it's a prequel as it will spoil some of the surprises of Mine.
overall a good short companion piece well worth your time and hard-earned cash.

Helpful novella

This novella was very helpful in explaining what led up to the events in Mine. Still, I feel like much is left undone with the entire story. Maybe I’m just so used to Battles’ series that I simply want more!

This novella by Brett Battles explains the origins of the Reclaimer, which the book Mine centered around. I thought it was interesting to read it after reading Mine, as I was able to recognize places from the original book as they were introduced in the novella. A very intriguing read that I highly recommend.
