A book written for same-sex attracted Christians that is incredibly relevant for all of us. I read it expecting to pick up a few tips for how to support my same-sex attracted friends, but ended up finding it just much more valuable on a personal level. Berry writes with humility and honesty about his own struggles, and in so doing emphasises his central theme: Jesus is worth giving up everything for.

Berry makes his point through a mixture of theology (rooted in bible passages) and personal stories, offering both the grounding and the examples necessary when dealing with such a challenging topic. I was impressed by how he make his theological point efficiently, without feeling the need to cover too much ground his readers would already be familiar with. His use of personal stories, similarly, was enough to illustrate his points and establish his credibility, but without risking turning the book into a memoir. It helped that the book was co-written, allowing for two different, but complementary perspectives.

Ultimately, I found this book was incredibly encouraging to me personally in my walk with Christ. Berry writes powerfully about how Christ is better than anything we have on earth, and it's helpful to see how deeply he believes his truth. For anyone who has ever struggled with wanting something more than Christ-- so, every Christian ever-- this book will be an important reminder to set aside our idols and look first to Christ for our satisfaction in life.

Extremely helpful account, with personal testimony from the author and co-author, on what it means to seek to live a God-honouring life as a Christian who experiences same-sex attraction. The personal details are very honest and open which brings an authenticity to the book.
